I’m not sure how this place has a 5-star rating. Our room was located next to the rooftop, and it was noisy and crowded at all hours, making it difficult to relax. The overall experience didn’t feel like staying at a proper hotel, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful stay.

Awesome service, awesome location, great room. Beware the area has a lot of action and noise late into the night.

Terrace room pool was unsatisfactory. Unheated and filled with algae. I wouldn’t go in this pool even if it was heated. Not happy I paid extra for it. Crickets chirping outside our room all 3 nights in hallway and resonating. Didn’t get a wink of sleep. Our host/concierge Victor was amazing. Very helpful and some great English. Location can’t be beat. Right on the square. A few clean ups and it would get 5 stars.

Room was super small with no window that opened, nowhere to put luggage and super hot inside. Staff was great, very clean and location was amazing.

Clean and spacious (for Europe) room, very helpful staff. Two things stood out for me in particular: 1) excellent adjustable shower pressure - better than almost any hotel I've stayed at, and better even than what I have at home; 2) electric tea kettle in the room - I can't tell you how many times during my past travels I have had to call housekeeping to beg for a kettle, and half of the time they would refuse it (either the shortage of kettles or "fire safety reasons," which is ridiculous as electric kettles all have an automatic turn-off switch). At DO by Sonder, upon check in there was both the coffee machine and a separate electric kettle in the room, the latter being useful for tea or instant coffee (which I prefer to machine brew). Placa Reial can get quite noisy (and I was there on the Halloween night, so the partying was going on all night long). But the balcony doors were fairly good at keeping the noise out. And if like me you are slow to roll out of bed in the morning, the prospect of several cafes waiting for you with warm croissants downstairs on the square is definitely motivating.

A lovely boutique hotel in a great location. Very friendly, helpful staff. The rooms were very comfortable and quiet with all the amenities that you required. To be able to look out of one’s bedroom window onto the Placa Reial was a pleasure. Great breakfast too. Would go back to this hotel for any future visits to Barcelona.

The hotel was in a great location. The staff was amazing. The room served it's purpose, but was very small for people traveling for 2 weeks with 4 suitcases.

Loved this hotel! Staff was so helpful and our room that overlooked the plaza was large and very clean. Highly recommend!

Not only is the staff all very nice, but they are very quick to respond to requests. The shower knob was hard to turn, but they fixed it right away. Also the shower splash was strong. The work is reliable and safe, including double-checking the work.

Would have been nice if the elevators worked

The elevator was broken, and we were on the 3rd floor (what Americans call the 4th floor). But good news! We can use the tiny staff elevator. Only it broke as well. My wife has a bad knee, so our experience was really terrible.

The picture of the queen room is deceiving. The picture has been taken from outside the room to show it bigger than it is. I had to pay extra $50 to get better room to fit all our bags. This is not a five star hotel as it’s specified.

Lovedddd the high ceilings but please be aware they have a lot of entertainment in the square at all hours. It may not be ideal for a family with small children. Ideal for walking to all the spots and amazing customer service.

It’s a lovely, quaint hotel with very attentive and friendly staff. My only complaint was that they did not have decaf coffee pods.

A stylish hotel in a great area if it is your first time in Barcelona. Within walking distance to major attractions and public transit. Just be aware that it can get loud - we were there when Spain won the World Cup and could not sleep that night! The hotel did provide us with earplugs but they did not help much.

Fantastic stay and great hotel. Staff are all very professional, rooms are clean & comfortable and the hotel itself is located in a convenient part of the city.

Staff was lovely. Very welcoming and kind. Great location. Quiet room. Easy to get to so many great places.

The room was nice. I booked the room with a private terrace and pool. While the terrace and room were kept clean the pool was not. It had pigeon poo all over the bottom. Requested it to be cleaned twice but it was not. We did not use the pool at all. Also the room was right outside of a rooftop bar and bathrooms so keep in mind it can be very loud at night right outside of the door. Ear plugs were provided thankfully. There is also no railing or grip tape on the stairs to the pool making it dangerously slippery. My wife actually slipped down the stairs because of this. I’m sure the other rooms are fine but for the cost this room wasn’t worth it.

High ceiling is the only plus.

Beautiful room. We had a room with a terrace and private pool. Phenomenal service from the staff. Everyone was extremely friendly. Able to walk to everything. The best stay we have ever had in Barcelona.

The staff is great, but the hotel is far from being a 5 star hotel. All facilities are old, elevator takes an hour etc. not value for money wise

The hotel and room was very nice, But if you are a light sleeper, do not stay here. There is a club in the same plaza as the hotel and they party all night long every night until 6 AM when the sun comes out.

Staff was warm and very friendly and helpful. Our room after upgrade was spacious.

Beautiful room overlooking plaza allowed us to hear music and people enjoying their time in Barcelona! Friendly and helpful staff welcomed us throughout our visit. Take advantage of sauna and rooftop bar with views of city. Right in the middle of great shopping, restaurants, transportation.

I am not sure why this property is rated so high. They have very unorganized reception and the beds are very uncomfortable. I would not recommend this place.

Lovely hotel with friendly helpful staff

This hotel was lovely. The staff can’t do enough to help, the rooms are lovely, with a large bathroom with tub and separate walk in shower. We didn’t eat here but the food looked great. Nice rooftop bar too. Would definitely recommend

Wonderful hotel in great location.

A wonderful hotel right in the heart of the city and adjacent to a beautiful square. Easy access to metro system and most points of interest are walkable. Very close to the beautiful Gothic Quarter. Professional and very friendly and helpful hotel staff. Wonderful daily breakfasts. I highly recommend the Do Placa!

We booked the suite with private plunge pool for 2 nights…. Couldn’t go in the private pool as it was full of bird feathers and bird poo. Spent a lot of money for this stay…

Noisy at night but great windows for sound proof. The safe was not working in our room.

I made the error of not doing enough research but this hotel is in the middle of a plaza and the parting is happening all night! It’s very loud and noisy!! I woke up several times in the night cause of the noise!!!

Fantastic location, friendly and efficient reception staff. We loved that the room was ready 4 hours early (no charge). The view over the square was great, but the room was very well soundproofed so we slept well at night. Breakfast service was a little chaotic though and the team occasionally got the order wrong. They seemed a little inexperienced on the breakfast side. However the food itself was great and we enjoyed using the on site restaurant.

The staff was soooo helpful and friendly. The breakfast person was soooo sweet and helpful as well. Extra nice. Felt so welcome. Like home.

Excellent hotel in the middle of everything. Loved the Gothic Quarter and walk to the pier, amazing restaurants right downstairs in the square. Walked to Gaudi home, shopping and most sites. Even had a small rooftop pool and bar !

Epic location beautiful rooms #14 and 11 we special ! The staff was amazingly helpful good people !!! My first room some of the lights did not work but ultimately wasn’t a big deal ! I like the location a lot a bit noisy but most hotels have this issue in BCN … simply a wonderful place well priced and for the small inconveniences I’d stay again … this is my 20th hotel since June 2022 ! Enjoy The roof bar was great and a lovely refresher from the hot day

Really nice hotel! Very cute and funky lobby. Rooms were nice, clean and spacious (especially for Europe!). Rooftop area was a cool place to hang but pool is tiny. Would recommend.

We really appreciated the friendly greeting we received from the staff upon our arrival. She immediately made us feel welcome and she was very informative. The room was spacious and very comfortable. The bedding and towels were superior and the bed was comfortable. The amenities were lovely, although I would have appreciated the addition of body lotion. Other than that it was a perfect stay! The location is perfect, too!

You can enjoy good location and feel historical building and plaza. Hotel service is just the average. Housekeeping and amenity should be better.

The location on Plaça Real is excellent. The staff were friendly and very helpful. I bought this room for my Mom and Stepdad and they loved the location. I visited them multiple times during the trip and everything was great. The only very minor issue I had was the check in process. It was not very smooth for my parents. This was minor and the rest of the stay was great!

We were on or honeymoon and could not have selected a better hotel. The staff was amazing, the food was incredible and the room was lovely. We had a balcony overlooking the square but it was still quiet in the room. I could not say enough nice things about the team at this small hotel. They treated us with patience and care and we had a marvelous time!

The hotel was top notch...The only thing we found distracting was the noise being in such a great location, Las Ramblas around the corner is very noisy.

We have Been coming to this hotel for many years. This visit was for a special occasion. Such a shame and our stay wasn’t as we had expected. 1 staff member working to serve the terrace / bar and restaurant so basically no service. If you wanted a drink you had to go and find someone, This is meant to be a luxury hotel. Would never go back!

I loved this hotel, the location was PEFECT, right in the middle of the Gothic area and off of La Rambla - it felt very centric. The hotel itself was very chic, the rooms large, the bathrooms were epic and the bed very comfortable. The amenities were really nice too. My only complaint, and it’s a big one, is that it was SO NOISY. My room faced Plaça Reial and it sounded like bombs were going off all night. I had a very loud sound machine and ear plugs going, but nothing blocked the noise. I was not he first floor so maybe it was the floors above, or construction? But it sounded like a lot of moving chairs, garbage bins, or large tables in the square. Bottom line, I didn’t sleep. I let them know after the fact because I didn’t want to bother moving rooms and it seems like all rooms either face the square or La Rambla which is also very busy. The front desk staff was very nice and acted surprised that it was so noisy, which I find a bit odd. If you are a light sleeper, maybe avoid this spot or get a room on the top floor facing away from the square? Otherwise I really loved this hotel!

We stayed in a Junior suite that was spacious and well appointed. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate anything we needed. The property is centrally located on a lively square with multiple restaurants with outdoor seating.

This may be the best boutique hotel we have ever stayed in. The staff was very friendly and helpful in every way possible. Rooms are spacious and beautifully decorated with balconies looking out onto the piazza. Bathrooms modern, great amenities and separate tub and shower stall and commode room. Breakfast was amazing.. wonderful buffet as well as eggs and waffles to order. The hotel has only 18 rooms so it almost feels like you are staying in a charming home. Location off the Ramblas is perfect. I have never reviewed a hotel before but this is such a gem that needed to be shared. Our family of eight all agree this is 5 stars! Thank you DO for a wonderful stay!

Excellent hotel and location. Near good restaurants as well as areas to walk around and visit he sites.

Positioning was very good. The room was nice and the shower was spacious (we had a Superior Room). The staff was friendly and tried to help. Breakfast was very good. The area by the hotel (and city in general, unfortunately) has a homeless issue with people openly sleeping and relieving themselves outside the entry. The sauna inexplicably closes at 21:00. In some times of year, the upstairs terrace is closed and wrapped in plastic - the pool is uncovered but the space isn’t open/useable.

Wonderful room with outdoor terrace and a little swimming pool. Fun view of the city. Fabulous restaurant for the included breakfast. We had dinner at their restaurant and loved it sitting outside. The staff are amazing! They helped us get tickets for Parc Guell and the Picasso Museum. Hotel is right off La Ramblas so is a perfect location. We walked everywhere or took the metro. Barcelona is an active and alive city all night!!

Our room looked out on the charming Placa Reial, facing away from the traffic on the adjoining street and its noise. It was comfortably luxurious. The staff was attentive, helpful, and spoke excellent English.

The Superior Hotel Room was beautiful and the view over the square is stunning! Love the decor of the hotel and it’s position for getting around is perfect.
