A gem near Manchester
This is a gem of a hotel, simple rooms but very clean.staff extremely friendly. Good breakfast. We stayed Xmas eve and night for just over £100, and couldnt fault the value for money. Nice bar and restaurant area. Right next to Belle View metro stop.
Loved our stay great friendly staff
lovely hotel and breakfast was great
The saty was fantastic.
Just ok to spend a quick night. We went to Manchester game and it was a 25 min walk. The area is kind of rough Price is good We arrived early, as many people did, and they wanted 20 pound to check in early. Everybody was waiting in the hallway for 2pm. Rooms were ready. Would have gone a long way letting people in early
Clean, friendly, Reasonably priced lodge
Friendly, helpful staff with warm welcome. Plenty of parking. Room spacious, spotlessly clean, no noise. Reception/Bar/Breakfast/Meals in large open plan, warm atmosphere and staff always available. Reception arranged taxi service to our venue. Great stay and reasonably priced.
WELCOMING FRIENDLY STAFF
We were made welcome as soon as we arrived. Staff were very helpful at reception and at breakfast in the morning. They had a lot of patience as hotel was full for Paul McCartney concert. Room was good. Bar and reception need more staff later on after a concert like this
Great value
Don’t often leave reviews but this place is amazing value
Pleasant staff, good shower, great breakfast.
Review
The property was easy to find and then reception was friendly but a bit difficult to book in after 3 as quite late and to book in early was £10 per room ( i had 3 rooms booked )
It was very nice every one was so welcoming and friendly
The staff were very helpful at reception and the breakfast was good.
Bit expensive but convenient for city
Considering the exterior of the hotel its actually really clean and well serviced bedrooms and are functional and again very clean. staff super friendly ,helpful and efficient Not to far from Manchester and the breakfast was great
Business trip 1 night
Really good bed. The carpets are a little rough on the feet.
My stay was fine, no complaints. Recommended for short trips in particular.
Annual Xmas shopping trip
The hotel is a bus ride away from the city centre with the bus stop right outside. It has new managers from last year's visit & this was very noticeable as the atmosphere was a lot friendlier & the staff were very helpful & pleasant.
Consistent
Good stay as always
The staff were very friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. The bed was very comfortable an enjoyable stay
Dated rooms, but clean and tidy and fine if you just want a bed, friendly staff
excellent value
We paid £28 each for a room and breakfast it wasn't the ritz but for that sort of money there are no complaints
Great hotel plenty of parking, receptiom staff very friendly, room had everything you could need amd breakfast was great
Loved the room itself: comfy bed, couch, convenient vanity and mirror. Lots of choice for breakfast including pastry, cereal, yoghurt and a full english. Only downside was the bath/ shower, which wasn’t clean. Overall, worth the money I payed and would definitely stay again.
Staff and service
Give it a jnias
The room was dated and shabby, the bed was lumpy and incredibly uncomfortable and the room wasn’t the cleanest, to the extend that we tried to make it work but ended up checking out way before bedtime to find somewhere decent.
Diamond lodge isn’t in the most desirable areas, it is close to stadiums, staff were welcoming, room had dirt and towels with marks on them, hairs in multiple places. Corridors and rooms are not very well decorated for the money we paid, bathroom very old and needs modernising, rooms are paper thin and could hear all from neighbouring rooms and upstairs, didn’t sleep well due to this. Breakfast was good. I wouldn’t stay again due to lack of sleep and high premium they charge for this
I thought the hotel was good, we were going to Hits Live at Co-op arena. I would say the staff knowledge at the bar was poor but overall stay very good.
Staff were most friendly, breakfast great, room was lovely, quiet. Felt safe and lioked after. Thank you. Would highly recommend staying here
It’s an ok hotel but the room wasn’t clean.
Nice
Everything was fine just that the carpet was dusty
Not great
The hotel is very outdated and smells of smoke on the corridors. The matress was very uncomfortable and I personally wouldn’t stay here again. Also on Sundays they don’t serve breakfast till 7.30am so I wasn’t able to have breakfast as I had to leave before then
Lovely staff comfortable stay ..
I had a lovely stay at the diamond lodge last night . Staff couldn’t be more helpful . Room very comfy basic decor but very clean . Good breakfast only as I’m a vegetarian I would have liked to have a veggie option of higher quality . Sausage cooked on request ( as none available ) but tasty dry and unpleasant so I left them . Lots of good ones on the market now you could keep in the freezer . Also fresh fruit rather than tinned would be good : Good value fur money though
take off the restaurant off the booking form!!
You need to take off the restaurant off the booking as they don’t do evening meals I had to order in a take away it’s wasn’t clear when booking. They did a good breakfast. So my stay was ok
Good stay
Easy to find, easy to park. Room and bathroom in very reasonable condition for the price. Great breakfast included. Only downside is the main road noise outside - bring earplugs!
We only stayed for one night but the facilties were ok. Staff helped if needed. Rooms are basic but clean and breakfast wasn't the best.
Lovely efficient check in and breakfast staff. Room was cold, decor needs a refresh, superficially clean. Breakfast cold but reasonable value. Public transport easy and close to hotel. Ok for a couple of nights and would use again.
Had a great stay breakfast was delicious
was suitable for our requirements
Diamond Lodge
We booked the Diamond Lodge for our visit to see Keane at the Co op live what a good choice lovely hotel clean friendly staff excellent breakfast and just a short bus journey to the stadium will definitely return and recommend this place
I liked the staff I found for how much I was charged for 1 night was pricey for the quality of the room also I pre booked a with urba and it didn’t turn up and I was still charged
Okay
Starting with the positives, really nice staff, the first room had a broken light so they changed my room with ease and were very apologetic. Only negative was the bathroom, it wasn't clean at all and that let it down. If they could do better at that then they would be 5 stars.
Great place to stay
The diamond lodge is an excellent place to stay when visiting Manchester.Nice rooms good bar a very good breakfast plus a good car park. It is easy find just off the A57 which allows it excellent access buses into Manchester City Centre the bus stop is right outside the hotel. When I visit Manchester I always stay at the diamond lodge.
The bedding was stained, the bathroom had mould and the heater smelled of burnt dust. The hotel is in an unsafe area and the room uses old key style locks that didn't feel securely locked. Drug use on site was evident by the paraphernalia found around the hotel.
Clean but no restaurant.
The hotel and room was clean. The included English breakfast was good. However....on hotels.com it advertises that there is an on site restaurant called "The Olde Lake Brasserie" that does not exist. This was the main reason that I decided to stay as I needed accommodation in this area but wanted a place where i could just go down stairs for dinner and a beer at the end of my day. So there is no on site restaurant. There is a vending machine with sandwiches and microwave meals or you can use Uber eats to get something delivered. I ended up driving to a nearby KFC for my dinner.
Value for money
Decent hotel for the price, not sure if all rooms have been removated but the one we stayed in had been which made this really good vaiue for money. Nice decor, soacious room, with a little 2 seater sofa, comfy bed, good lighting in the room and breakdast included with price, definitely balue for money.
A
I have stayed here a number of times when I have visited Belle Vue Speedway, never been disappointed and good value.
Staff very helpful, breakfast good but room decor very dated
Not all the rooms have been upgraded yet so ask for an updated room
After reading some reviews was a little worried.. but for the price you pay I found it perfect.. on arrival the reception staff were fantastic and even showed me way to bus stop for piccadilly and then to co op live.. the room was very clean n tidy, lovely comfy bed duvet and pillows and good choice of breakfast ..
had to evacuate our room 3 times during the night as alarm kept going off. poor staff onsite didn't have a clue what was going on.
the staff was very rude expecially the F and B staff serving breakfast she is so rude and disrespectful .
I have stayed here 3-4 times in the last 2 years, good bed, good breakfast, tv and wifi all good and the car park feels secure, staff always friendly.
Functional, clean & tidy, easily located. Will be using a gain.
The room was full of dust and plug sockets dangling off wall half painted door frames bath dirty and bathroom floor was aswel breakfast was a joke food only cooked on one side toast was okay but that’s only because cooked myself holes in walls front door left unlocked all night with no staff on reception smashed windows and what looked like bullet holes in walls I will not be staying there again I think it is Disgusting for the £95 it cost me
The room wasn’t cleaned thoroughly and the towels were clean and all 3 were tiny, I’m a size 12, I couldn’t even wrap one on my waist. The guy who checked me in was nice and friendly the one I met when going for breakfast looked pissed off! When having breaky I asked if there was tabasco sauce or any chillies at all, had to ask as there was no one on the floor, he was quick to dismiss me. Later on a tall guy with an Afro appeared from the kitchen seems to work on the floor. He was lovely. Another thing was the gluten free bread, it wasn’t fresh. Loved the coffee. If the place improves on cleanliness would defo go back.
The was spacious for two people and the bed was clean and comfortable. The staff are very friendly and willing to help if you have a problem..The breakfast is enjoyable and great variety
Definitely cheap and nasty, like stepping back to the 80s decor, when I guess it was last decorated. Breakfast limited selection like no white bread. I’d have thought that was a basic ingredient? Definitely would not recommend or return.
You get what you pay for. This 3* hotel achieved what it advertises. It suited us for our one night stay(we've previously stayed aswell) it is located closely to city centre and various local acttrations. Our room on this stay was spacious, although the bathroom was looking a bit tired now but remember i started this review with "You get what you pay for". If you want 4 or 5* luxury this isn't the place for you, however if you want something less costly this place is fine. Staff were all friendly. Free car park which is quite large. Breakfast choice was good with cooked, vegan, vegetarian, pastries, cereals plus others on offer. Overall we had a good budget stay and would stay again.
Never again!
A very disappointing tired hotel that reminded me of a 70’s airport hotel. The room was, at best, grubby and the whole hotel had a rather unpleasant odour. My room faced the main road and was incredibly noisy. The bathroom needed a total refurbishment with a broken shelf by the basin and it could have done with a good clean (not a superficial clean). Very disappointed - certainly wouldn’t return.
WiFi was horrible, everything else was great, breakfast was very good as well.
Great hotel with plenty of parking. Staff were so helpful and polite. Room was lovely. Loved the vending machines, had a great little midnight snack from them. Ideal location to get into Manchester centre. Would prefer poached eggs to fried but other than that breakfast was really good.
Nice clean hotel ideal for short stays staff where lovely very friendly and helpful
Comfy stay
Location was easy to get to, easy parking. Only issue we had was loud tv noise till 2.30 am in the morning from one of the rooms
rating of 8 justified access to local transport ample parking reasonable breakfast
Awesome
Uncomfortable Bed
Clean room & bathroom. Bed too hard & uncomfortable pillows. Expected tram to run from there but discovered it didn’t so paid for 3 taxis yesterday, used bus to get to station today.
Little dated, would benefit from aircon, and shower was cold, breakfast was good
Would stay again
Clean friendly hotel Good breakfast Would recommend
Friendly reception on arrival Rooms comfortable, but could do with a fan when it is as hot as it was(28degrees) showers good Great breakfast
Room was lovely, staff were great, bus stop’s very close, cleanliness was great, some areas of the hotel were a bit dated and breakfast was tasteless, coffee was awful - but overall it was great value for money
Clean and tidy maintained to a good standard Staff were excellent as in polite , respectful and efficient
There was no hot water from the shower only found out in the morning pre check-out so had a cold shower. There was hot water in the bath taps. I reported this at checkout
Would stay again
Everything was ok. Good price and a place to rest your head at the end of the day. Staff were friendly, room was clean. A bit dated and worn in areas. Free parking with plenty of spaces. Would stay here again.
Good pleasant stay room clean , breakfast very good and included in the price
Excellent value
Good tidy room
Lovely room. Duvet cover thick considering it summer. Could do with walk in shower rather than over bath. Nice colours. Tidy & clean. 👌
Nice place
Convenient location for the co op live. Nice room great breakfast staff very mive
I can recommend this hotel.
An older hotel but very friendly and clean. Great staff and the help yourself breakfast was very enjoyable.
Fantastic value
Fantastic value, friendly staff, comfy bed. A few things could be updated but for the price you can’t complain. We booked 3 rooms for our family, and we was all next door to each other. Would definitely stay again.
Eagles
The staff were both professional courteous and very helpful. I will have no problem recommending your hotel to both family and friends.
The bed was VERY uncomfortable. Room not as clean as I would have expected. Staff on reception and dining were excellent. Very helpful, friendly and courteous
Perfect for NSS (National Speedway Stadium)
Great stay on check in Washington was brilliant & so helpful he was also serving drinks in the bar as well. Room was clean & comfortable & had everything you’d require(toiletries beverages good Wi-Fi) Breakfast was buffet style with plenty of hot & cold offerings available & tasty.
After reading mixed reviews I was pleasantly surprised, what a little gem of a hotel. The room was clean, comfortable and bed super comfy. The reception staff were helpful. Fantastic English breakfast and good position for coop live arena. Will definitely stay again.
No restaurant
Didnt pick up when we booked they have no evening restaurant only for breakfast, no places to eat locally so need to go into city
Would definitely recommend.
Excellent location to visit the new Coop Live Arena (bit of a long walk home though 45min), good size car parking, easy to find, quick taxi (£8)/bus to venue - bus stop outside hotel. Friendly staff/service. Excellent self service breakfast, also vending machines available (food/drink). Room good size, comfortable, good facilities (tea/coffee, shower gel/shampoo provided) few scuff marks about - wear and tear but not too shabby. Would definitely visit again.
Rooms very tired in need of a refit , apart from that enjoyable stay , breakfast nice shame that the bar was closed at 12.30 with twenty plus people drinking .
What a little gem , easy access 10 mins in a taxi to the co-op stadium, 15 mins on local bus (stop outside the hotel) to city center Deco is a little dated but excellent value for money Staff were incredibly helpful I would definitely recommend this place
Diamond Hotel Manchester
Helpful staff, good clean functional room
The hotel's location was important as we were going to a concert at Co op live. Free parking and breakfast included also high priority. The staff were friendly and helpful. Our room on the ground floor was roomy and comfortable for our overnight stay. However, noise from the upstairs room (guests just walking round/across their room) was very off putting. Fortunately all was quiet after 1am. Breakfast was generally very good but staff struggled to keep everything topped up according to demand. Overall an enjoyable stay.
Great place for co op live
greeted by friendly reception staff member. Room clean, neat and tidy. Full tea and coffee tray. Only downside was the road noise and there is not a lot can be done about that! For the price and convenience this place is hard to beat. Would stay again.
A great hotel to stay for a night ,Uber into town £7
The room was lovely and clean except the corners on the bathroom floor and rusty shower screen, more maintenance than cleaners.
Cold Shower and Room was a bit grubby, however the staff were fantastic and very friendly !
Fabulous service from reception, bar staff housekeeping and restaurant staff, will definitely be staying here again
Great for coop live
Good hotel for the new stadium in Manchester. Breakfast was lovely
Excellent
I wasn't expecting much, but, it was a great visit. The checkin was seamless, rooms were lovely and the breakfast was very good Many thanks
