Such a beautiful hotel. The pictures on here does not justify how nice the place is. Room was MASSIVE. had a room with pool access, pool was nice a quiet and kept very clean. Beach is beautiful

Lovely experience with tons of walkability. Major selling point is the 15 min walk to the beach.

Staff were excellent but it was understaffed in the restaurant could have done with extra staff as they were run off their feet. In general it is a great place have stayed here before.

Loved the jacuzzi on the balcony. Great setting, and very friendly, welcoming staff. Breakfast by the beach set us up for each day. Would definitely recommend, and hope to revisit one day.

Great hotel. Very nice room. Clean and newly updated. Jonas at reception was helpful upon check in and booking a taxi. Only downside is the beach is not good for swimming unless you have some sort of water shoe. Amazing beach view for the sunset over the temple. There are a couple pools on property that are nice so can cool down that way. Food is average and a bit on the expensive side at the restaraunt.

Really nice hotel, pools are great easy access to the beach the food was very nice a spacious clean room. Only negative is it’s quite far to get to many local restaurants around 1 mile away.

We’ve stayed only for 2 nights before leaving Thailand but it was great choice to stay in this hotel. We had deluxe room with the direct access to the pool and it was excellent. The room, bathroom and terrace are large. Oh and the bed - the largest we’ve ever had!

The room was clean. The hotel is not maintained. The food is poor. Got overcharged for washing and taxis when arranged by the hotel. It looks like it used to be a nice hotel but hasn’t been looked after. I would not recommend compared to the other hotels I have stayed at on the island which have all been fantastic.

Beautiful but disappointing

We stayed at the Deva resort for 8 nights over Christmas. Throughout the stay the staff were helpful, kind and pleasant. However, we did encounter some issues with the hotel general running off the hotel. The hotel claims it has a pool bar, beach bar and restaurant. In reality there is only one bar. There is a second bar (DIB) but it seems like they don't want this place to succeed. It constantly looks closed and even though they say their Happy Hour is 11-midnight, we asked for a drink at 10.30 only to be told they had already called last orders. The lights and TVs are usually turned off and furniture coveted up. When we did eat there the food was wonderful! It's a shame they don't make more effort here. The hotel also no longer has a spa. Instead they refer you to outside massage parlours. The pool, which we had room access to, was freezing, almost unusable on some days. The hotel location is also very remote, a taxi to the closest place will cost at least 300baht, and with this hotel being the only local place for good food and drinks, they'll make sure you pay for it, the hotel info also says that they provide a free shuttle, which they do not. Overall, the hotel is actually beautiful, the staff are wonderful but this hotel has so much potential and the management could do so much more.

Decaying Beauty

Once again, stayed in a Grand Deluxe room. Very comfortable bedding and clean room. The breakfast buffet is one of the best on the island. The downside to the place, is the renovating that is going on around the buildings. And personally I think they left their run a bit late. The place is slowly falling down around their ears.

Comfortable Abode

Have stayed here many times. Very comfortable bedding (Grand Deluxe), with a pretty good buffet style breakfast. Currently undergoing some building maintenance, but not overly noisy or distracting. A little far from shopping and the likes, but the hotel itself is pretty good. Reception speak very good english.

Beautiful resort right on the beach. The breakfast was great. Choice of three pools. Staff were fantastic. Downsides were that the pool bar was never open the whole 5 days we were there (must be a seasonal thing?) And that there wasn't much in the area. Definitely hire a scooter if staying here.

Everyone was nice an helpful the hotel was more what I expected

The location, rooms and service were excellent. We would have preferred more snack foods on menu to eat while drinking by the pool.

Great place to stay!

Beautiful resort! The food at the restaurant whether it was lunch or breakfast was always fresh and delicious. The staff was helpful and kind. Good shuttle service to Fisherman's Village and Choengmon Beach. Relaxed by the infinity pool, which is lovely. The swimming at this particular beach is just OK compared to some others. We have been back here twice and recommend it to all of our friends.

The hotel is far from the main attractions(fishermen village or chuweng street) The room was clean and the bathroom and bed was in good shape. The stuff are really not happy to give a service to the guests. We arrived to the hotel at 9am and looking for something to eat and went to the hotel restaurant, they said that the restaurant are closed although it’s wasn’t according to the opening hours. That rude stuff of the restaurant and of the reception was really not nice and not helpful. For collusion, the hotel with good amenities but very bad stuff.

We liked the location, gardens, bedroom, staff and the happy hour. The breakfasts was really nice. The pools were even better. Great place to stay.

Beautiful, but slowly deteriorating

Was disappointed with the building that we were booked into, as it is slowing falling apart and was a slightly different layout to the same room (grand deluxe pool access) in the other buildings. Maintenance is not high on their agenda. The breakfast buffet layout is very good compared to other high end hotels. Lashings of bacon!!!

Staff were amazing as there were a few problems with our villa and they couldn’t have been more helpful. The resort is lovely just needs a bit of upkeep work done overall.

We had a nice stay at Deva Sumai. Staff are helpful with planning stay at Koh Sumai. Grounds are beautiful. Restaurant setting with view of sea and sea breeze, good food and always welcoming waiters. Pool with sea views is great. Though there is a beach the sea is un swimmable, it a mud flat. We stayed in a standard room, which was comfortable but bathroom needed some attention.

Great Resort

Beautiful property in a beautiful area! Only complaint is the shower did not get hot or even warm. Otherwise, I recommend Deva to everyone. The pool villa will be revisited by me in the future!

Wonderful romantic resort

A quiet resort that couples can relax and enjoy the romantic moments with each other. The only set back was the morning houseflies and mosquitoes in the cafe but they do provide the spray but with no use.

Loads of positives and a few suggestions.

I surprised my husband for his 40th birthday with a trip to Koh Samui and I’m very glad I chose Deva Resort and Spa for our stay. Positives- Friendly and helpful staff Great happy hours Good breakfast spread Very centrally located- close to lots of grocery stores and loads of restaurants Lovely spa massage centre Property is green and clean Clean and comfortable room with a jacuzzi and a sit out. Suggestions- The plumbing and drainage systems in the bathroom and kitchen need some maintenance because there was a lot of pooling of water which can be quite unsanitary. As a couple who smokes it was a little tiresome to keep going to the balcony for a cigarette, especially in the heat. Suggest some rooms allocated for smokers with good exhaust systems. Would be great! A full length mirror in the room would be great since there isn’t a single one except in the bathroom.

The hotel is in a quiet area of Koh Samui, however it is very clean and the staff are extremely helpful and friendly and nothing is to much trouble.

Nice big clean pools and a quiet location away from the main beach 🏖

Although the location and beach are not the best, the staff and rooms met my expectations. The pool access room was perfect. I spent 4 hrs at the spa and enjoyed every minute.

Could’ve been better

Quite during my stay. Lacy atmosphere and ambiance. It has potential but seemed neglected and staff could be more attentive. I sat in the restaurant for 15mins. I had to physically get up myself to get the menu. Food was good but service was poor. When it came to dessert I was exited to try the coconut ice cream in a fresh coconut. It was very disappointing. A time scoop of ice cream sitting on cubes of cut up bread Inside the coconut. It was the strangest combination and expected way more from a restaurant where you pay western prices. I was to find out afterwards that they had run out of sticky rice and had just substituted my desert with bread instead. Why wasn’t I given the option to change my order if the ingredients where not available. Why make something below restaurant standard just to serve up a dish. Very very poor chefs skills if you ask me and I was paying top dollar for this desert. Upon queering this to staff they seemed indifferent and very unhelpful and unphased that this had occured. You are better off staying someplace else, a bungalow on the beach would’ve been way nicer... dint waste you money here, it’s not worth it. If you won’t good Thai food go across the road to Mamma Dang for a massage and a lovely home cooked meal. Loved being so close to the temples

This hotel is stunning. The grounds are tranquil and beautiful, the beach idyllic and the rooms are gorgeous - one of the nicest hotel rooms I've ever stayed in. We had a pool access room and our terrace was great, with a huge lounger to chill on. All of the pools were lovely, very clean.

Lovely room I was upgraded but I had to pay for it ,very clean lovely staff friendly and helpful BUT the location is too far from everything the hotel is in the middle of anywhere if you want to stay there YOU MUST get A car to go somewhere Bupoot and Chaweng and Lamai are miles away from the hotel and beaches What you see in the picture is a fake beach there is no beach in that hotel is close to old harbour and lake I booked 6 days but after 2 days I had to book another hotel in Lamai and of course is an expected expenses to pay for upgrading and pay for another 4 days in order hotel

Our overall experience was fantastic and really enjoyed our time at Deva! It was very relaxing and calm, away from the hustle and bustle of the main areas, a perfect couples getaway. The 3 pools are great and the beautiful sunset is amazing and romantic. Free kayaks available too, and some decent restaurants walkable. Only thing that was a shame was the 'beach' that it is on is not really swimmable, but the pools made up for this and lovely beaches can be accessed a short drive away.

You Get What You Pay For

Reasonable little resort. Not much in the surrounding area so you will fork out for transport into town. Room wasn't stocked well at all. Restaurant exorbitant. Reasonably priced though.

Such a lovely and quiet place. Not crowded. Relaxing and peaceful. There are car rental services, shuttle bus and transportation arrangement at the reception area, convenient. But low water pressure. The wooden flooring uneven and sagging, looks aged, need to be fixed.

This beautiful hotel is like an oasis, with amazing paths from your room to the ocean, surrounded by waterfalls, orchids and more. The breakfast is amazing, with a custom egg station and lots of variety. The pool is gorgeous, looking out to the sea. Staff is so kind and lovely.

The spa are very helpful and always pay attention to the guest. It is quite far from the fisherman village but if you want a quite place to stay, it is highly recommended

Not bad

Initially our room was in pretty poor order. The a/c was literally stuck on “jet” and the room specifically the walls were a bit dirty and the hallway/ neighboring room noise easily made its way into our room. The staff was helpful though and allowed us to change rooms. That room had a pipes that would screech at points and something was rattling in the a/c unit. We just lived with it but it speaks to the condition of the place. I recommend getting one of the upgraded rooms if you want to see something closer to 4 stars.

The hotel is beautiful. But do not try to order room service, extremely disappointing after travelling a full day. Only thing we wanted was to lay down and eat some room service. Ordered a basic penne with tomato sauce and a cheeseburger. The entire meals were cold. Upon calling them back to come take it back we thought that was the end of it. 20 minutes later there was a knock on the door and it was a different person bringing back the same food which had bites taken out of it, trying to say that she warmed it up and it's good now. Absolutely gross.

Overall good room, cleanliness needs work.

The room was beautiful and the pool villa was amazing! My only complaint is that housekeeping did a poor job, I noticed one of our housecoats was dirty so instead of calling for a new one I just put it in the laundry pile and expected a new one the next day - only to find the dirty housecoat was rehung up, and our water bottles from previous day were left on the table instead of recycled.

Grew to like this place, very quiet and a bit out of the way, but nice rooms, good cocktails and decent pool area. Communication with staff very difficult at times.

Quiet trip

Lovely room with private pool, only down side was the food, was ok but not fantastic. Restaurant area could do with a bit of a face lift and spa expensive (lots of cheaper spas outside hotels)

The worst check-in front receptionist ever. They were so rude. Rooms were old and had foul moldy smell. We had to carry our own luggage because after calling the receptionist 3 times no one came to the room to help us. Can’t believe the way we were treated after being previous guest. Never coming back here... Never :(

I loved the layout of the property; our building area had its own pool and was surrounded by trees and flowers. It really gave the impression that the place was somewhat secluded, and everything was very quiet. We wouldn’t have known it was fully booked if we hadn’t inquired!

This property was amazing, even better than what i thought it would be, the staff we’re so friendly and helpful. Property was very clean as were the rooms. Had it’s own little private beach. Love love loved it. Will definitely be badk.

Happy stay

Very nice stay - the staff was very nice, the rooms were good and the food was delicious. The only issue we had was the location and the fact that we could not swim in the ocean.

To far from Chaweng town. and not much amenities around Room TV and kettle working Common swimming pool water is not clean Staff are generally friendly but communication takes a little effort to be understood.

Breakfast start from7 am yo 10.30 am.. However by 7 am everything not ready.. coffee n tea only ready by 8 am... meal only completely ready by 8 am.. i stay for 4 days in 1 of the villa with private pool... there is a day they miss out to do housekeeping although already put sigh "make up my room" in front of door... once requested in late afternoon only then the room maked up... hence the hotel service need to be improved..

Towels are poor and rooms had an odor it was a good place for a quick cheap one night while transferring

Good value for money hotel close to night life but not so close to be noisy. Receptionist upgraded my room without asking which was good. Overall the room was freshly decorated, comfortable bed, and clean bathroom. Only real issue were some mosquitos. Perhaps hotel can provide some spray etc in the rooms.

Luxury off the beaten track

Grand deluxe pool access, was a very comfortable and clean room. The breakfast is reasonable, better than other establishments. And the staff are very friendly. You would need some form of transportation.

Deva Samui is a great place to stay

I loved the hotel, only complaints are 1. Internet is poor, wifi is strong but on ramp to internet is bad. 2. TV programming is very bad. No sports no English speaking movie channel there for internet needs improvement

We had a great stay at Deva Beach Resort. Rooms are clean and spacious. The pool/restaurant area is right on the beach and you can easily spend a day there. The whole resort feels very classy and it is a beautiful setting. The included buffet breakfast is great, good variety. The only downside is the restuarant prices, which are really expensive. Even something like a beer is about 6 times more expensive than in the shops. Would do much better if prices were reasonable at the bar.

Great hotel, the surrounding is very quiet with not much to do. The stuff is great, facilities also.

Relaxing resort, beautiful grounds and amazing bedrooms

Pros: -beautiful rooms, spacious and clean. -our room had patio with private jetted tub and a little bench/bed to relax on -breakfast was pretty good -staff were wonderful -small in pool bar -quiete and secluded -a few small local restaurants (the outdoor kind) -the shower in the room was amazing. It was one of those rainfall showers with amazing pressure and felt great after swimming in sea salt all day. Cons: -since it’s furher away from a lot of the mAin streets and attractions you pay around 400 Baht one way to get anywhere. The only thing that is walkable is the big Buddha and a few little food vendors, and of course a seven eleven. -online it says rooms come with a clothes dryer, only the rooms with pool access get a drying rack, which we found after after doing all of our laundry and coming back with hopes of hanging it up. -the beach at the property is in a bay, it’s rocky and not very pretty and doesn’t look swimable. Overall we loved the property, just wish it had a better beach with views to relax on. But for the price you get a really nice accommodation and good customer service. It would be nice if they provided a shuttle maybe once or twice a day to some of the main drop off pick up spots because the taxis and grabs do start to add up, next time I would probably choose a location that is a bit closer to stuff.

Good central location but good to have a motorbike

Grand pool villa, good sized pool, good room cleaning, breakfast average, other food tasty. Near a big Buddha and lists of shops at the big Buddha complex with good prices. Not far to Fisherman’s village, 10 to 15 minutes by car or bike.

Excellent service by the staff. Pool access room was nice, but the bed was rock hard and uncomfortable. The beach was a let down, but if you like boat trips ie sea fishing, cruises, speedboats, etc, it's in a perfect location, right next to the departure pier. I can recommend Mr Tu's for any such trips. The hotel is a little walk away from the nearest village/town, but you can hire mopeds either from the hotel for 250 Baht per day, or from the top of the road for 150 Baht per day. The local 7 Elevan was good value for money, but beware, if you use the Family Mart on the opposite corner from the 7 Elevan, they tried to short change me on 2 occasions (100 Baht each time).

A favourite for us!

We stayed in a private pool villa and it was exceptional. The staff were very friendly, professional and nothing was too much trouble. The beach isn’t great but the pool was where we were anyway. An infinity pool that seems to go endlessly into the ocean. There’s only one restaurant I. The hotel but with great food and an excellent breakfast, still missing that! On a night you’ll need a taxi out to more bars and restaurant but Fisherman’s Village at Bo Phut and Chaweng are a 10-15 minute taxi away, we liked the peace of being out of a main resort but your close enough for when you need it. During the day we hired a scooter to get about which if you’re happy doing that then your set, roads are quiet in Samui and there aren’t many of them so it’s pretty easy to find your way.

A bit old and worn out

Online the Deva looks brand-spanking shiny and new but in reality it’s a bit careworn and lacking in the simple maintenance that would make it an amazing hotel. The location is wonderful, the beach beautiful but the grubby walls, creaky floors, unvarnished surfaces and lack of attention have somewhat diminished the impact the hotel COULD make. On the plus side, the resort staff were friendly (even if the checkin staff were a bit ‘all-business’ and a little cold). All in all I feel you could spend your money far better in Samui and get a lot more for it.

Location is a negative

They say they are locatated on a beach so as a traveler you think you can swim at this beach. Think again it’s dirty and unsafe to swim in. On the other hand the rooms are large showers had amazing water pressure and I had a spa on my balcony very good value!

View of Electricity pylon

Arrived at resort. Rooms on 3rd floor, no lift. Rooms very nice but when we opened the blinds there was a view onto a huge electricity pylon. We asked for room changes because of the ugly view and the fact that one of our party had a painful knee. Three floors was too much for her. Told no equivalent rooms would have to upgrade. We did so at an extra cost per night for each room. Staff very sullen, not helpful at all.

Second time at Deva - we really like it!

Second time at Deva. Rooms are great, pools are great. Probably best if you willing to hire a scooter to get around as taxi to chawang or Fishermans village is a bit pricey. Family mart and 7/11 5 min walk with other restaurants and food walking distance. We would recommend it needs a bit of a paint job, awesome resort, Absolutely prime location for sunset, it would just be a tad nicer with a paint job. Beds great and rooms really great size. Buffet breakfast is standard but has everything you need.

I loved this hotel. The bed was so comfortable and big. The staff were very friendly and nothing was too much. I stayed in a grand delux and it was beautiful. The bathroom was really spacious and I loved the big bath.The pool was literally a step down from my veranda. The breakfast was really nice a lot of choice. The only thing that I was disappointed with was that you couldn't swim in the sea at the hotel because it wasn't very clear and looked a bit dirty.

A far gem

Beautiful place, very clean and has a nice breakfast Right on the beach Though its beach not accessible to swimmers because its very shallow for about 500 meters far from the shore. There is a beautiful sunset view and boats are available for trips around the island Its a very silent location but also far from the chaweng area... we had a scooter so we did a 15-20 minuts ride to any direction. Taxis offered by the hotel are about twice the price, you should find a taxi another way... Pools are beautiful, and what a jacuzzi at the balcony,,! overall we are happy with the place and recommend it to those who attend to rent a scooter or a car

Lovely holiday

I had a lovely time at the Deva Beach, my room was exceptional, the ladies at the reception (who offered me an upgrade as soon as I arrived) were all friendly and helpful and I loved being so close to the pool. I think this place could be 5 stars, but they definitely will need to upgrade some of the decking around the pool area and maybe fine tune some of the service skills at the restaurant. All in all I was very happy with my stay at the deva beach & would highly recommend staying here!

Indo china adventure

Beautifully managed. Many pools including one on beach. Lovely beach. Bar restaurant good quality. Ideal for on site relaxing holiday. Activities- restaurants, eating, shopping, kick boxing and massages are at Chaweng so a taxi is needed. For a family works out cheaper. It felt good there.

Great first visit to Samui

What a fab place to stay!! Great beach, great pools, room and restaurant. Breakfast was very tasty and evening meals nice but more expensive than local restaurants'. So were their drinks- make them cheaper and more guests will eat and drink at the hotel!! The beach area was very beautiful with great views of the Big Buddah, however the hotel needs to clean it regularly as plastic rubbish tends to collect there. We had a wonderful 5 night stay and would definitely stay there again- it's so much quieter, calmer and less touristy than Chaweng!

Awesome place. Definitely will be back here on our next trip to Thailand.

Deva Samui

Deva Samui was a wonderful place to stay that wasn’t right in the fray but super close to all of the tourist destinations. They have a private beach, though the ocean isn’t super swimmable right there. But you’re a short taxi ride to Chewong beach where there’s plenty of swimming and beach. All of the staff here was so friendly and kind. They helped us set up transportation to tourist sites as well as to the airport. This is also a common hotel for the tour groups to pick up from. Would definitely stay here again.

Hotel needs upgrading quite out of style.

The rooms are very big cleaned everyday, but need refurbishing. The staff at the Hotel do not speak English & it is quite difficult to get good service. We wouldn't stay at this Hotel because it is to isolated some people may like this, but to get into Fihermans Village for restaurants & bars it is 400 baht each way this makes your evening out more expensive. The beach at the resort is dirty & the sea isn't very nice to swim in.
