Amazing views from the hotel and just right distance from the town. Great food in the restaurant in the evening
I
We had a great stay here! The view was incredible! We didn’t realize the room would be up the hill from the club house, so the shuttle they offer from the club house to the rooms was a great amenity! We didn’t see prior to our stay that the rooms didn’t have AC, but it wasn’t a problem for us at all! It was cool enough at night that we didn’t even notice, even in the summer. We would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay here again!
Beautiful view, great hotel, our shower had a level issue with water stagnant, I don’t recommend the jacuzzi, but I totally recommend the hotel overall.
Absolutely beautiful place! We had a patio with a view of the water, so peaceful and beautiful. Rooms are nice, all employees are excellent and friendly. Would def come back!
positive things: nice view from the room, we got unexpected free breakfast, swimming pool with amazing view at the lake negative things: small, very dated sauna, we got charged for usage of wine glasses (why there is none in the room in 4 star hotel in a country which is such a big wine producer?) even thought bar was closed and we could not buy anything from it. it is not a lot of money but very strange decision to charge for renting them.
Little expensive for the price and breakfast was way below expectations. Overall didn’t see the benefits of paying higher cost for the place
This property exceeded our expectations. The room, restaurant and pool were even better that the pictures we saw before booking. A picture can’t describe how beautiful is the view from every part the hotel. Service was excellent
Breathtaking views from the lake. Some strict policies on restaurant services. Overall left me a good impression.
Amazing hotel!!!!
Good
Best location and excellent staff
Beautiful hotel but they need to clean the bathrooms better, also improve their breakfast
Very nice location with views of the lake. Did NOT like the fact that I was charged for water that I did not take from the mini-fridge as we had purchased and brought our own. Never touched the fridge.
Friendly staff. I love the view. Room was perfect and clean. Definitely enjoyed my stay at Design Suites.
Excelent place. Magical view. Very confortable.
The charged me for eggs because they were out of their normal scrambled eggs and they didn’t even tell me there will be a charge, the breakfast should have more delicious choices and it should serve fresh squeezed orange juice. The manager was nice
The hotel really needs an update . Don’t expect luxury. The rooms are big. The breakfast is pretty poor and the food doesn’t taste good. I will rate the hotel a 3 start. I won’t be back. The staff is very nice and friendly. Always willing to help and accommodate to any requests. Getting transportation takes a while so be ready to wait. The hotel is not on the lake is passing a street on the mountains. We went to the Swiss market on Sunday make sure you have a transportation line up. We couldn’t find any taxi and nice woman from the market that had a stand selling creams took us back to the hotel. We were trying to take the bus but you need to buy a card in bariloche. Next time for sure I would rather stay in a hotel in front of the lake.
Não recomendo esse hotel! Atendimento deixou a desejar desde o primeiro momento. Serviço do restaurante ruim. Pelo valor da diária não vale nem um pouco a pena.
Beautiful property located just outside the centro area of Bariloche. For those traveling from outside of South America be prepared to speak Spanish or Portuguese as many do not know English, also have your daily activities already scheduled including transportation to and from as this area is not walkable to sightseeing. Good news is they have a tourism office onsite and the woman working there is extremely helpful and accommodating to foreigners. They will also not let you eat in the restaurant without a reservation at any time.
Good location, with great views from dining room. Even standard rooms are spacious, and most rooms are equipped with hot tubs.
Lovely view over the lake
We stayed in Design Suites Bariloche for 1 week and enjoyed our stay. Although it is out of town it is an easy 30 min walk to reach the city. Our room was large and comfortable and clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful and Riccardo our waiter in the restaurant was fabulous. Breakfast was varied and good and the evening meals were delicious. We enjoyed our stay, thank you
This is our 4th and last year staying at this hotel. Instead of getting better each year the service gets worse. The week before we were due to arrive a duplicate pending charged was lodged against my credit card. It took Mercedes Anania 4 days to get this charge reversed! When we arrived we were checked in by Barbara and she was unbelievable. She was curt, did not acknowledge that we were return clients, everything was conducted in a very offhand manner, why would you want to stay here again? The majority of the staff are very friendly and professional but as the old saying goes “One bad apple spoils the barrel.” The hotel is starting to look some what run down. The internet speed was very slow. We have already chosen our new hotel for next year.
Great hotel in a good location in Bariloche Views are stunning it’s worth paying the extra for a lake view! Breakfast was lovely and staff very friendly Bit strange to find in the room a price list for items going missing, ie wooden hanger $1,000 not the most welcoming of sights
Quiet, beautiful lake view while eating breakfast.
Beautiful views of the lake, junior suite room was spacious and lovely, quiet location, we enjoyed several meals at the artsy onsite restaurant, the staff is friendly and helpful. This property is on a steep hill, requiring a short uphill walk to rooms from the main building with lobby, restaurant, and pool. We did not have a car so we walked into town on the busy street once and used taxis and local buses the rest of our five day stay. We definitely would stay here again.
Design suites offer a good view over the lake from the restaurant and some rooms. We stayed in a standard room which was a little tired and the bathroom needed an upgrade. Good place to stay if you have transport as it’s a fair walk into the town.
Superlative and enjoyable stay
Best boutique hotel we have visited. The design is outstanding, the lake views outstanding inside a lot od pi es setting. SERVICE premium all over. Only comment: not for those with mobility problems, lots of steps and little far for walking ro city center. Good restaurant and breakfast, highly recommended stay both the hotel and the Bariloche area, our second visit
Like the lake view Dislike the fact that you have to walk far in order to reach your room or walk down to reception Dining room very dirty
Lovely setting let down by unwelcoming & uninterested staff. The restaurant staff being the exception. Reception staff particularly lacking in any kind of friendly social skills.
The room was big and very comfortable and we had a wonderful view of the lake from our balcony. However there can be some noise from adjoining rooms when they use their spa bath, but not really much of an issue as most people do not use at an unreasonable time.
The rooms are great! Specially love the jacuzzi. Only thing is I didn’t realize the rooms can be too far from the lobby..
Front office staff lovely. Restaurant not so much. We had a room with an amazing view. Bed was good Shower base had mould around the base. Breakfast basic and scrabbled eggs terrible - over cooked. Overall a nice hotel needing a little more attention to detail
Excelente opción de alojamiento en la ciudad. Comodo, bonito y agradable.
Great rooms in a stunning location
Very comfortable rooms & great location & reception staff Alex, Jessica & Barbara were very helpful. Found some of the female staff in bar / restaurant to rather unfriendly. Had a dissatisfying meal in the restaurant which was uneaten, we advised of this & we were still charged for this.
Great stay in a suites property. Our Junior Suite had a beautiful view of the lake and mountains, even from the jacuzzi! The staff were extremely helpful with restaurant and sightseeing recommendations. Fairly standard breakfast buffet and no option for in-room coffee or tea. Property location is in a very quiet area yet also only a 3 minute drive to Bariloche City Center. Recommended!
This is 5 star stellar value to the max at an affordable price. Any major city would charge 10x more. Stunning views, of panaromaic mountains & lake, spacious rooms.with luxurious appointments inside and out. Dining service is michelin star gourmet. Excellent wines, great spa & pool. I was only staying 1 night but am enticed to spend more nights. 2 thumbs up. This is a gem.
This hotel was very comfortable and clean! Great service and a beautiful view. Very happy with the stay and would come back!
want to go back!
we booked for our honeymoon. the hotel is fantastic!!! the staff is AMAZING! always very very helpful. I DEF recommend. the only 2 issues we had are that its hard to get around the hotel area - you need to request a car/van for pretty much anything. and theres no ac... theres 2 small windows in the suite and when we opened them it was full of wasps so we had to suffer a bit of heat during the night. the bed was VERY comfy the mini bar was stocked full with reasonable pricing. the breakfast was AMAZING! the views could have been better but im satisfied with my stay. the jet tub was also AMAZING! i would def go back.
Great hospitality and a terrific breakfast each morning.
This hotel has spacious bedrooms, some with view of lake and excellent inclusive breakfast. Very helpful staff who gave us good ideas for dinner reservations in Bariloche. About a 20 minute walk into town.
Omg this hotel was amazing. Super well located just 5 min from the civic center. You feel you’re in a paradise with lots of beautiful trees. The reception and staff were super friendly and amazing. Rooms were exactly as the pictures, with Lake View. You feel happy and relaxed since the minute you walked in. Bathroom is an important part for me and were super clean and beautiful. Beds were perfect. Breakfast was perfect with good options for Argentinians and international travelers. We didn’t have the time to enjoy the pool but definitely we’ll come back.
Nice but needs upkeep
The are and views are fantastic, and the hotel is cute but it definitely needs updates. We booked a deluxe suite and were disappointed in the condition of the room. The floors were all damaged, with boards loose and a bad smell. The massage chair was filthy, the remote was so sticky we didn’t use it. Also, the cable was completely exposed! The grout in the shower was black, it could use a good clean! Have been coming to Bariloche for years and love the town. The view is amazing but the hotel needs improvement.
Really pleasant stay
The room was of a high standard, clean, spacious, comfortable, with jacuzzi and lake views. The hotel is a long 30 minute walk to the town. Restaurant and bar on site are comfortable with good food and drink. Really nice indoor and outdoor pool overlooking the lakes. Wi-fi was a bit hit and miss in the room at times. Good selection for breakfast.
Reception were hostile on arrival, shown to wrong room and although large room, no air condition and long walk up hill to room from main hotel
Rooms were large, clean and modern. Not very well soundproofed though so could clearly hear people in other rooms at times plus all the cars arriving and leaving. Good breakfast though could have healthier cereals rather than cornflakes and chocolate cereals. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful.
Highlights: the view from our bedroom (not all of them have a nice one) and from the restaurant. Dinner at the hotels restaurant was delicious. Downsides: swimming pool is heated but it was pretty cold. No one wanted to go outside even Hough it was supposed to be heated as it was cold. Staff: terrible. The receptionists were the worst I’ve seen. The bellboy was the only very nice person. Room: it’s a silly thing but they had an kettle but no cups. You have to ask for them, they bring it to you but you are supposed to take them back when checking out.
We were charged a bariloche tourist tax of $160 pesos pp. The only hotel in Bariloche to charge this fee. We stayed at 3 in total. Would like an explanation from the hotel why only they charge this fee??
Good location. Friendly staff, good size rooms. Rooms very clean. Good breakfast included.
Good and quiet location, especially when having your own transportation. Staff is both professional, charming and customer-friendly. Big room.
Very nice building and convenient location if you're with a car. Nice views, esp from dining area. Service people well mannered, but significant service issues (eg service quality in restaurant, TV never worked and there was no alternative)
This is our 3rd year staying at this hotel. The welcome, friendliness and assistance from all the staff is fantastic. We are already planning to return next year. The only thing that needs improvement is the speed of the internet, at less than 5mbps it is substantially less than we are accustomed to in Europe.
Amazing location. Amazing rooms. Highly recommend. Would stay there again
Desk staff is well trained. Yet they lack the professional charm of top Hotels. Restaurant staff is efficient, yet lacks “client oriented training”. The rooms are superb. The setting magnificent! The front door and room service staff is much better. Excellent food.
Amazing Hotel
Amazing hotel. We have been travelling for 2 months and this is one of the best hotels we have stayed in. We booked a superior room and were not disappointed it was massive and the view was amazing via the full window. We ate dinner twice in the hotel as it was tasty and reasonable value. The only minor issue was the pool needed attention but on the day we left it was shut for a weeks maintenance so no doubt this is now fixed. We would definitely recommend to others and love to get the opportunity to come back.
It was close to town but not right in the noisy area. The view from the room was great. The pool wasn’t functional and the hotel doesn’t have a shuttle which would have been helpful.
The rooms had lovely view to the lake and mountains, so pleasant to wake up in the morning with this view. The breakfast pastries are tasty! Hotel has wifi in rooms but very slow. Also nice bath on the rooms, they should offer some bathrobes too.
Beautiful setting overlooking the lake. Very close to activities
Design suites is a lovely place to stay. The one thing that irked me was that with breakfast I asked for decaffeinated coffee, as I have a caffeine allergy, and the server wanted to charge me $90.00 pesos. Other than that it has been a wonderful stay.
This was a pleasant place to stay. Thr facilities are wonderful and the staff is outstanding. The food at breakfast was good while the dinner was outstanding. The small drawbacks are the long uphill road/path to get to the hotel and no air conditioning.
The hotel was well located, not in the town center but close. The hotel staff was super friendly and helpfull, specially Felipe. The room was huge, it was modern and clean. We recommend it 100%
Nice clean modern suite hotel with fantastic lake views. Located sbout 20 minutss walk or a short cab ride from the centre of Bariloche this hotel has great fscilities including restaurant, pool and spa. Staff are friendly and very helpful.
3 Night Stay
We enjoyed our 3 night stay in a very comfortable junior suite. Great views of the lake, private spa bath, delicious buffet breakfast. The one negative would be the condition of the pools - fabulous location for a swim in warm water but let down by multiple missing tiles and generally needing some extensive maintenance. Otherwise very happy with the staff service and location of the property.
Design Suites is a great hotel a short drive to town. If you don’t have a car, the front desk can arrange an inexpensive taxi to town. The hotel is very clean and nicely maintained. We had a very large suite, with a separate bedroom and very large living room / eating area. The bathroom had a large jacuzzi tub. The front desk staff are friendly and helpful. There is a tourist information desk in the lobby - they were very helpful in answering questions and booking tours in the area. Note that not all rooms have a lake view, but it’s still a great place to stay.
Highly recommended, beautiful hotel
Fabulous room with spectacular views. Great facilities and superb staff. The restaurant is top notch and the breakfast excellent.
Worse every time you return. Better times in the past
Very nice hotel, excellent location, very helpful staff and very good restaurant.
It had a friendly staff and hotel room was always clean. The tango show was great and food was pretty good. The view was incredible.
Great rooms, quiet location
Very nice hotel with spacious room and good staff.
Avoid
Unfriendly welcome, poor breakfast, badly insulated rooms, staff unwilling to deal with loud noise from neighboring rooms after midnight. We had not been notified in advance of maintenance of pool and dining area (which is a small area off the reception). Run down appearance. Hotel failed to respond to 2 emails prior to our arrival.
Excellent hotel. Wifi is really bad! Please improve
Nice hotel, lake front, excellent staff
The hotel is lake front, at around 3 km from town on a main road is not a friendly walk but car services and taxis are easily available and very affordable. The room was spacious but had no air conditioning as temps on this area are cooler. The staff was very nice and customer service oriented. There is an office that sells organized tours and visits. We were able to see a lot around. The tours were well organized and reasonably price. Many people rent cars at the airport so to have more flexibility. The town is nice with good local shopping and eating places. Fall is considered low season so we missed the waves of people that come during winter for skiing and winter sports. We stayed 5 days and really enjoyed it. Just remember is the South Hemisphere so Seasons are opposite (winter is June-August).
Terrific room and vacation experience! Enjoyed the in-room hot tub and nice breakfast. Good pool. Need to rent a car if you're planning to explore from this location. Tour concierge helpful in the hotel. Excellent view of Lago Nahuel Huapi.
Great hotel, highly recommended.
The hotel was clean, spacious rooms, amazing view and friendly staff.
Amazing location
The hotel is very close to Bariloche (you should rent a car). The rooms are big and very well equipped. Breakfast is good. The staff is very helpful and friendly.
Easy check in, help with luggage to room. Restaurant was great! Found chunk of hair in shower, tub was dirty Heated floors where amazing! Comfy beds Fridge full of goodies
bad customer service
We are enjoying our honeymoon reason why we found this hotel a good option. However, upon arrival the room was standard, we did not perform any "update" despite indicating the importance of our trip. On the second day we had to check again to see if they could perform an "update" and the reception lady continued saying "they did not have rooms available, that if they had not made the change it was because they were still unavailable". On the other hand in the hotel restaurant the first day the salonera did not want to attend us, on the second day she did not let us sit in the place we wanted and her treatment was very impolite. We were very disappointed in our stay at this hotel
Relaxing.
Stayed in a Junior Suite which was spacious with a nice view of the lake. However it was irritating to have the upstairs and next door Jacuzzis both being used at 10:30pm - my room vibrated so much it felt like I was in a rocket about to launch into space! Bring earplugs in case you have inconsiderate guests during your stay. The hotel is a bit out of town (that's a good thing!) and there are bus stops right out the front going in either direction. Breakfast was good by Argentine standards. A nice place to stay for a few days.
Very good check in. Spacious room.
Very nice hotel, it is worthwhile itself for a nice trip to Bariloche.
Nice hotel not too far from town.
Because it was New Years Eve and Day when we stayed it was hard to get access to the public bus card. It would be helpful if the hotel kept them on hand. Very nice breakfast buffet. We had dinner one night at the hotel and it was just ok for the price. Very nice rooms however with a hot tub overlooking the lake!
Good Location, value for money very disappointing
The primary issue we had is that the hotel is significantly overpriced for what it offered. The first issue was that the booking confirmation advised that there was a 24hour airport shuttle, which is not true, you have to find your own way. The rooms were very basic, they were large but lacked furniture and character, the web site says its a modern hotel but I think it was a convenient "name" for "old and lack of". The bedding seemed like it had been is use for years (old blankets etc). If the hotel was 50% of the price, it would be appropriate. On the positive side they have a nice dining area for drinks and relaxing. Lastly they made us pay up front saying the rooms are disconnected from the hotel and we could leave without paying. Given they had just processed a security deposit in excess of the room cost, it felt less than premium.
Great hotel, amazing views
The hotel was beautiful (for the most part) with breathtaking views. Our room was gorgeous and bright. Unfortunately, our washroom had a bad smell, like sewage. We could also hear and smell things from the room next to us. The property was beautiful, as was the main lobby. We did not use the pool but it looked nice. The gym was less than desirable, with old and broken equipment. Approximately 30 minute walk or 100 peso ride to the Main Street.
Nice hotel. Short walk to center of town.
Really nice hotel. Everything was nice. If you don’t mind walking it’s 20-30 minutes to the center of town. Breakfast was nice too!
Disappointing.
Parking view. 6am wake up by maintenance vans coming on gravels. Mold in bathroom. Bed is comfortable and large bedroom. Unfriendly staff. Driving in/out not easy. Even walking in/out not easy because very steep and narrow driveway. Average breakfast. Don't think you can use WiFi: super slow. Use hotel workstations in lobby or go close to another hotel lobby with better free WiFi. 25 min walk to city center.
Perfect setting on the Lake
This place is just out of town - which you will want to avoid ( it is a tourist trap of bad shops and chocolate outlets) The views from every room over the lake are wonderful and the food is just what you want without having to drive anywhere.
Amazing place with amazing views. It was truly breathtaking to look out of our hotel room onto the lake and mountains.
Skiing in Argentina, Bariloche
Great area to go to for a ski holiday, challenging mountain, very nice area, beautiful scenery...enjoyed 5 days here.
.it was excellent
it was excellent. We had a great time there.
Avoid this Hotel
Over my last 30 years travelling through the world -besides being a Gold member- this was one of my worst experience EVER. Want to believe it was a typical "avivada" from the argentinean concierge trying to make me pay VAT despite we live OUTSIDE Argentina. Rudely treated we left the hotel and went to another one -ticket available- that respect our status of living OUTSIDE Argentina. It's a shame that a nice place as Bariloche tourists are treated that bad. Expect a reimboursement from Expedia ASAP
Nice and convenient
Our check in and check out was excellent. We got double upgrad for being Orbitz Platinum. Room was warm and comfortable. We appreciated that they have CNN Chanel. Breakfast have the same selection every day but was very good. If they added fresh squeezed juice I will give the facility a 5star rating. Overall we were very happy to book this hotel which made our visit more enjoyable.
Bariloche Oasis
Staff was amazing. The rooms were incredible. The location is awesome. The only downside was that you could see the road from the edge of the outdoor infinity pool, but the lake and mountain views are so amazing it barely makes a difference.
Beautiful hotel. Excellent lake view!!!!
Beautiful hotel. Lakefront views. Very confortable bedrooms with jacuzzi
Excellent view, great recommendations from staff
Lovely placement in town and room with a view of water. Jet tub with a view of neighbors and the lake as well :) The staff made personal recommendations, meaning asked us a few questions then nailed what we were looking for. A beautiful sunset drive, a local brewery and a hell of a hike.
Huge room with great view
We were lucky to get a corner room in the last block so we had a lovely view of the lake. The underfloor heating in the bathroom was awesome. Excellent breakfast. Helpful staff to assist with tours, transporting luggage up the hill and recommending restaurants. The pool was nice and heated but starting to look a bit tired. Our room was comfortable and large but also starting to look a bit tired round the edges. Overall would recommend.
a stop over after 8 days on horses in the mountain
i grabbed this hotel using expidia at last minute, it looked good and was . we were only in town 1 day .we found our arrival was handled smoothly and professionally , we were early and our room was not ready , but they soon had it for us . large jaccusi in room made a very welcome sight after 8 days .
Horrible barking dogs for 5 days straight. Do not stay here in summer when windows must be open due to no air conditioning . It was awful. The hotel did not care at all
average place, clean but nothing special
It was ok. More like a ski property and the snow covers a lot. room was fine and check in staff were great but the distinct lack of language other than spanish in the restaurant was poor. basic knowledge of food should be a given. Also a problem if you don't eat meat and they wot discount food when you have the meat element removed even when the most expensive element.

The bed sheets don't fit properly. The Air Con was noisy and than died and didn't work at all. The street is noisy and busy beside the room and you cant open a window for fresh air. There was lots of disinfectant spray everywhere which was over powering. I wish they would stop spaying that everywhere. It was making me sick. The Staff were friendly. Breakfast was ok. The Spa and Saunas are not part of your room. You have to pay a large fee if you want to use them. Which amazed me considering how expensive it was to stay here. I didnt enjoy my stay here.
