Absolutely fabulous!!!
We only stayed one night, but it was a memorable one! Not only is the “Desert Villa” breathtakingly beautiful, but so was the atmosphere because of the hospitality of the owner Youssef and his brother. Youssef went above and beyond to make our evening there special. We arrived not too long before sunset and when he heard we’d planned to walk a little into the desert he immediately grabbed his car keys and took us to one of the further out high dunes. He encouraged us to climb up for a spectacular view, which we wouldn’t have gotten otherwise. Dinner and breakfast in house were wonderful too and Youssef took time to talk to us about his life, life of Nomads and interesting facts about the area.
It is a perfect place to stay. don’t scroll down on your phone, just reserve your room! When you get here, find Yousef and Mohsin who are both great guys very helpful, kind, and sincere!
Youssef has created an exquisite hotel space in the heart of the desert. He designed and crafted the hotel with love and it shows. After growing up in the region he set out to get his degree then learned the craft of the international hospitality industry first-hand working with tourists across the globe. He retuned home and built the Desert Villa after architecting a design that is eco-friendly and beautiful. He hired craftsmen to execute his concept from the tile work in the pool and entry fountains, and guestrooms. He commissioned artwork, fossilized marble, wood carvings, and made lovely use of locally made drums for pendant lights as well as other touches of grace and beauty throughout the hotel and rooms. Youssef took us around his town, gave unique touring ideas, and showed us true guest hospitality. He and his staff were excellent, spoke beautifully in English and French and made some of the best breakfasts we've enjoyed this trip. The best place to stay in the region!
Where do I begin with this place and the people that make it so special. Desert Merzouga Villa- man, from the time we walked in till we left, there was not a moment where we felt like tourists. Youssef, the owner, the manager, the mastermind, the caretaker, the chef, the Archetect, the designer and the story teller behind this beautiful villa is soo generous, so humble and full of positivity that you can't help but pray that he succeeds in his adventures. He has made this villa into a peaceful sanctuary within the desert for his foreign guests to enjoy some peace and quiet time. He is so accommodating. And just goes out of his way to ensure his guests are happy and they feel at home. I remember in the afternoon when my tour members were resting, I went downstairs into the dining room and was catching up on some work. Youssef came to check on me. I told him I was a bit hungry. He told me to give him 5 minutes. And he made a nice fresh salad with yogurt. That was the most thoughtful thing he did and I truly enjoyed that avocado tomato salad. He's put his entire heart (which is quite big) into building this place. If you notice carefully, he's paid attention to minute details from this warm scent you walk into when you enter to split ACs behind decor to names of his family members on each guest room door the picture of the king 😆 (I'm joking about this last one. Youssef, remember, he's always watching you). In short, I highly recommend this place.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The staff was very helpful with setting up a camel ride in the Sahara and the complimentary breakfast as well as the dinner we had at the hotel was amazing. The dunes are only a 100 meters outside the hotel
