Our room was clean and neat Just the glass panel on shower needs to be bigger(wider) to control water splashing out of tub Nice, modern design , with leather wallpaper and side bed and head panels White sheets , pillows I wish we had a coffe/tea maker , not sure if other rooms do have them, we stay at a triple room 5 mnts walking distance from Rome termini was a plus lots of restaurants in same street Breakfast was really good I wish we stayed there since we arrived to Rome Since we stayed only the night prior our flight returning to US
Great location
Great little hotel with lots to see and do within walking distance! Staff are friendly and professional. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The breakfast buffet is also very good!
A
Walking distance to train station was very close. Neighborhood was close to metro and walkable to dining and colosseum.
Very convenient to the train and metro station. Location made it very easy to get around Rome.
Hotel was very modern and clean inside, well positioned for sightseeing, did not appreciate on booking that there were several steps from pavement into hotel which was difficult with 4 items of luggage.
Staff was friendly and the room was just what we expected. Happy customer!
Good location, a few blocks from Roma termini train station. The rooms were spacious and had a lot of storage for luggage. The bathroom was ok, average small shower. I did notice a bit of mould/mildew on the ceiling of the bathroom. Room was extremely hot and you will have to request the AC to be turned on by the staff at reception. Overall, not bad.
All very good. Stairs and suitcases not compatible for the rooms we were booked into on the 1st floor. Otherwise great location and room.
Clean room but a bit small. Friendly staff.
Very clean. Helpful staff. Great, walkable location. Enjoyed our stay. Would recommend
Excellent hotel to stay in while exploring Rome. The staff were very friendly!
Very clise to Roma Termini train station
Demetra Hotel is a short walk from the Roma Termini train station which is quite handy. The property is easy to find and check was easy even when we did around 11:30 p.m. The restaurants are located around are okay, the shower pressure is nice and the SKY t.v. with English options is a nice touch, especially with the Olympics being on. The a.c. unit worked great as well.
Very well situated, near Subway, buses & train station. Very clean. Newly renovated. Excellent breakfast. Kind & helpful staff. Would definitely stay there again.
This hotel was great for a couple of nights in Rome before we left for our cruise. Great location. The room and bathroom were bigger than I thought. Husband loved it. Breakfast in the morning was a nice start to the day. Would definitely stay here again if in Rome.
Request a room that isn’t over the garbage bin
Nice enough. Large bathroom. Clean room!! View was of garbage courtyard and maintenance area so we couldn’t open our window… the smell was horrible.
The staff were cordial and helpful. We were able to keep our luggage for free and they called Taxi for us. Breakfast was also good.
Nice, newly renovated hotel
Nice hotel and newly renovated. A bit hard to find as it occupies one floor in a building that has multiple other hotels on different floors. Very clean and centrally located.
The hotel is really clean. It is located in a really nice area for tourists with lots of restaurants.
Very enjoyable stay at hotel Demetra
The hosts at the hotel were friendly and very helpful. It was easy to store luggage when we arrived and the day we were walking around until an evening departure. The breakfast was delicious. There were lots of eateries in the area and very convenient to the train and also for just walking places.
good for the value great location
This was our first time to Rome so we didn't know the area well. I chose this hotel because it looked close to the sights yet it was newer, clean and had a quad room (me, husband, 2 teenagers). It was PERFECT. It was walking distance to the Trevi Fountain and other areas. It is near the opera house and good restaurants. We always went toward the left out of the hotel where the sights are and good restaurants in many neighborhoods nearby. We used the Repubblica Metro stop to easily get to the Vatican and all the different areas. The staff spoke great English and were incredibly helpful with storing our luggage, giving us a metro map, arranging transportation to the airport upon departure. The room was exactly what we needed. The kids were very comfortable. New room, new / great bathroom and rain shower. Spacious bathroom. Great AC. Overall, I was very pleased with this hotel.
Cleanliness was high. Walkable distance to major attractions. Air conditioner broke but was outside their control.
I really wanted to like this hotel but it missed on all simple expectations you have for a hotel. On MULTIPLE occasions we had to ask for our AC to be turned on, and then they would intentionally set it at 10 and freeze us out all night with no temperature control from the room. Our power went out several times and the staff had to come to our room to flip fuses around. They advised they would send someone to fix it and never did. It was a constant fight with hotel staff. The breakfast was subpar and we didn’t even eat there after we paid for it due to poor selection and burnt food. The bathroom was nice however the shower was so small you could barely fit a small lady in there. You were advised not to use the bathtub at night…so what’s the point of having it? We also asked the front desk to help arranging a transfer, they agreed to look into it and then completely blew it off and never followed up. Even after all of the issues we had at the hotel the staff never offered a discount of any sort, we paid about $300 per night. I would not suggest this hotel to anyone who values their sanity.
Staff at front desk is amazing....this hotel is in a renovated 5 or 6 story apartment... beautiful renovation....each floor is a different hotel...or private apartments. Tons of dining options around and very easy 5 minutes walk to Termini trains. Shower is just terrible...bathrooms sprays with water everywhere no screen or curtain and the tub doesn't drain so you have water up to your shins when showering...the armoire closet almost fell apart and tipped over when we opened it ..so cheap and flimsy we couldn't use it....the balcony outside our courtyard facing window is part of the hotel with one access door from the hotel hallway and the cleaning staff use it to store bags if garbage, dirty mops and brooms discarded cans and beer bottles and buckets. Very unsightly and needs to be improved. Great for one night but not 4 or 5.
The door of the bathroom . The room was not dark to sleep well. The light pass thru the door.
A very good and helpful staff, nice and comfortable room, breakfasts very good!
The toilet always flood because of poor sewerage system, and they dont provide drinking Water , i booked for smoking rooms and they said rooms are non smoking , i guess its expedia problem
I reserved using my American Express 4 months before my stay, 1 day before my arrival I get an email saying that they do not take AMEX, I had to pay cash
The AC could not be put under 20°C so the room was extremely warm. Also the TV intermittently worked.
The Demetra Hotel is a wonderfully run hotel located close to museums, churches, stores and great places to eat. Right outside the hotel is a restaurant called Cafe Washington, where I ate at least seven meals. I only wished the lobby were larger.
We loved that it was only a few blocks from the main train and metro stations for Rome. Our room had a really big bathroom with shower and a separate Jacuzzi tub. The staff was really helpful lending me a charging cube for my old-fashioned USB cord, (everyone is on the smaller USB-C in Italy now, and the power is 200 volts, so you need one of their cubes), and calling taxis for us. The room was super clean.
This hotel was great. The location is perfect if you’re planning on using the metro, taking the train to another city or using the hop on hop off buses. All of them are only about a 8 minute walk to Termini Station. We arrived before check in time but the staff allowed us to store our bags and wait in the lounge. They actually prioritized the cleaning of our rooms and let us get in 30 minutes before normal check in. The rooms are very clean and modern and the beds are comfortable. We chose to pay for the breakfast each day and it was outstanding. the best of three hotels we stayed at on our trip to Italy. All of the staff were very professional and very polite. The only “tips” I would give are be prepared that there are some steps at the entrance to get your bags up to the level of the elevator and if you want your air conditioning turned on you need to call and ask the front desk. It’s all controlled centrally at the desk. They only do that so as not to waste money on utilities. Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel.
Very convenient location. It was the main qualifier for hotel selection
Exceptional Experience
Loved this place! Staff was incredible and the room (Queen with hot tub) was one of the best of my trip. Location was very good too. I would definitely look to stay here again.
Bring Earplugs!
The room was spacious and clean, but the hotel is on the 2nd floor of a very busy street and the windows aren’t very soundproof. We heard people talking and yelling and singing throughout the night and could hear the garbage trucks coming through around 3am with a lot of glass breaking. Also because of all the light outside it is incredibly bright in the room at night. I had to use earplugs and an eye mask so if you stay here be sure to bring those so you can get a good nights sleep. The staff is friendly and the bed was comfortable though.
Good location, convenient from train station. Weird that hotel has a different on top two floor but noise separation was good. Great restaurant options in the area. Hotel was comfortable and stylish
good sevice and go location
Excellent staff and fantastic breakfast.
No lobby area, transportation booked through hotel both times there were issues with them trying to scam me as a tourist.
I don’t think I would recommend
I requested twin bed, but the bed was double when we arrived. So we had to wait to make it to twin. There was no body wash nor hair conditioner. I got a bottle of body wash at the front desk, but no hair conditioner. So I had to go but it by myself. The room temperature was set so low and I had to ask to make it up at the front desk. OMG! How many times I had to ask the front desk!!
Amazing Experience
We stayed in the jetted tub room (not wheelchair accessible); which we made full use of during our stay. All of the staff were so friendly and went out of their way to help you. They had useful information about good spots for lunch, touristic locations etc. We couldn’t have asked for more.
Great hotel, perfect location
Great hotel for a good price, lovely room and very friendly staff. The room and hotel in general was very clean and well presented. PERFECT location, 10/15 min walk to all the main sites and 5 mins to train station, would definitely recommend this hotel or at least this area of the city! The only thing was that when my partner asked for an iron he was told they weren’t sure if they had one (even though it states on the website that they do) and was eventually given one that leaked and could’ve been dangerous to use. When he informed the staff at the front desk they brushed it off as nothing.
Excellent location. Friendly staff. Cosy room but very clean
Beautiful hotel in a strategic position and amazingly well connected to all the main sightseeing of the eternal city. The staff is very friendly and kind always ready to help, the rooms are fresh new, clean and well organised. Absolutely happy about it. Very raccomended.
Hotel Demetra
The staff were amazing and friendly. The room was clean. Breakfast was lovely. Would definitely recommend. The staff helped with any questions we had which was great such as location and places we could go see and how to get there.
Literally STINKS
What a shame! This is a cute hotel in a great location. Nice breakfast and lovely breakfast attendants. But our room had a SICKENING SMELL--which management attempted to "fix." They refused to move us (and claimed they couldn't smell it!) when we complained again. It turns out more than one of the rooms smells awful... Also, if you dare to book this place, the "basic double" is what they call at the hotel an "economy one-and-a-half"! It's teeny, which is fine, if that's what you booked. Best to go elsewhere.
They gave me a room 26 steps down( actual stairs) And then 8 stairs up. Facing the noisy street. Room was renovated and modern. But the pipes would stink like a gutter after taking a shower , to the point I could not fall a sleep from the stench. Sink was clogged they did nothing about it for 3 nights . Fridge did not work. As well
Great location, modern, clean, helpful staff, secure, great breakfast.
Close to train station and walking distance to the attractions.
Our room is the one above the entrance with balcony. Its clean. Its not too big but not too small. Good enough for 3 people. Staff were helpfull and all nice specially Goli. She helped me with sorting my Autostrada penalty as the website is all in italian. Breakfast is good. Only comment is that tea bags in the room was not replenished so we bought our own and bring in the room. Other than that all very good.
This was our first stay in Rome. The staff were always very helpful, kind and present. The room was bigger than we expected and we really enjoyed that. Location was great felt like a 15 minute walk anywhere or to a near by bus. Only complaint was that our door would make a noise like it was going to open every time the room next door was opening their door - we figured it was airways not a big deal just annoyance. Would stay in the future.
Staff Was very friendly and helpful..... Center location close to trains and Metro....
Solid choice near Termini, walking distance. It was cutely designed and comfortable.
Very good spot to be staying in Rome ,close to train and bus station .Hotel clean and friendly staff ,food basic but good.
Very small room and shower..
first..it was close to Termini which was very helpful to us; inside conditions, I will say clean, but room was too small there was no room to open your luggage, shower was too small, I never seen such a small shower in my entire life.. breakfast was good and staff very friendly .. so, over all for 4 nights stay i will give like 7 points.. no more.
Great hotel , we were only here for a very short period of time (overnight before catching a flight) but it was perfect for what we needed. The rooms are pretty tight though
This place is amazingly in a nice location near the Termini Station, around 5 minutes walk. The room was very clean and have a comfy bed. Which was nice after walking the whole day. Breakfast was great, fresh ingredients. We would definitely come back here.
The location is good. But lot of stairs, very inconvenience to visitors. Overall quite noisy, can hear outside and other rooms noise
The staff was wonderful and friendly Tarik went out of his way and helped us so much this hotel is lucky to have him I would recommend this hotel to everyone and would come back
I was traveling with coworkers. The only negative is getting our suitcases up a few steps to get to the elevator to the front desk. The service was excellent; the receptionists was pleasant and helpful. I only have one hiccup at breakfast with one of the employee but another employee step in ; in a professional way. Breakfast was excellent with many choices. I would definitely stay at this hotel again,
We were here for our last night in Rome, and our room was located on the first floor across from the kitchen/breakfast eating area. We were woken up at 5am which was unfortunate because we had a long flight to catch at 130pm and wanted to catch more sleep but couldn't because of the noise coming from the kitchen. If we were there more than one night I would have asked to move. The ladies at the check in/out desk were very pleasant and friendly, couldn't have asked for a better check in and help.
Great Staff and Hotel Location
Great location for the hotel. There are steps from street level to get to the lift to reception, which aren’t advertised (that I saw), be wary if you have suitcases (who wouldn’t have a case or two)? We had the deluxe room, which is down and up many more steps. It also seemed noisier because it was almost street level above a shop. Room was nice but shower design meant any shower flooded the bathroom, talking to other guests this wasn’t just our room. Breakfast was very disappointing. All staff were exceptional.
Beautiful rooms for the price. My wife and I just needed a place to sleep for one night. We were out walking around Rome all day and were only in the room to shower and sleep. It was perfect. Very new. Complimentary mini bar items.
Very unique boutique style hotel. Great location near Termini and many restaurants. Staff was very helpful, especially Goli at the front desk. Breakfast was adequate in a very intimate cafe style room.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Nothing too much! Clean, bright hotel room with great breakfast selection. Great location with great bars/restaurants near.
This is a superbly refurbished hotel, all modern and interesting layout. Staff very helpful with a tremendous breakfast buffet. Location very handy to Termini train station. Would definitely stay there again.
Demetra Hotel is on the second floor and the building is shared with another hotel (from what it seemed). The room itself was generally new and remodeled. The room was a little bit on the smaller side. It was clean. The shower in the bathroom was inconvenient because there was no curtain and a very short cover and the whole bathroom would get wet when showering for this reason. The location wasnt too far from the train station and buses however it was about 10 mins drive from main attractions such as trevi fountain and pantheon, not really convenient to walk. Overall wasnt a bad stay.
Good location, helpful staff! Room was a bit loud but that’s because we were near the reception. I’m sure other rooms would have been quieter. Hotel is easy to find and close to the main train station.
The staff here were very friendly and the location was great for everything we wanted to do. I felt very safe walking around there even at night. I would definitely stay here again if I come back to Rome.
Excellent staff. Friendly, welcoming and helpful. Greatly located hotel, close to almost everything.
The property was very clean, accommodations where spacious, attention to details outstanding. They held our bags for us u til check in was available, booked our middle of the night taxi to the airport, and even packed breakfast for us to go. Would definitely recommend. They went above and beyond and it was in a good location.
LOWER LEVEL WAS LIKE A JAIL. THERE WERE BARS ON WINDOWS AND DOOR IF THERE WAS A FIRE IN THE HALL WAY YOU COULD NOT ESCAPE.I ASKED STAFF TO OPEN BARS AS PER FIRE CODE IN CANADA THEY DIDNT HAVE THE KEY, THIS IS A ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN. WE DID NOT SLEEP BECAUSE OF FEAR THEY CHANGED MY ROOM IN THE MORNING BUT HOW CAN THIS BE LEGAL IN ROME TO TRAP PEOPLE INSIDE.
Family trip to Rome
Great location. Just be wary of walking near the train station
Great place
Great location friendly staff large rooms. The only negative was lots of stairs. They kept our cruise luggage as we toured Italy
It was very clean and good location to train station and tourist areas.
We love Demetra Hotel ♥️
We had an amazing time staying at Demetra and loved the city of Rome. Great location and superb accommodating staff. We will be back and will highly recommend to others!!
The hotel is in good location, near main station Rome Termini. The rooms were comfy. The service was excellent. The staffs were very helpful and even allowed us to leave our luggages at the hotel for a few days while we travel to Venice and Milan. Breakfast was also good. Thank you we will definitely come back to stay.
Great hotel location in centre of Rome, very clean and updated room, excellent service, friendly and helpful staff, awesome breakfast, love it all
The room was fairly clean but service at front desk and at breakfast needs improvement.
Nice hotel, but far too many stairs if you have any mobility issues.
There is nothing bad but nothing special in any way either
Location, cleanliness, choice and quality of breakfast, ALL very good. The room was clean and well maintained. The staff were extremely helpful and very friendly. The only minor negative for us, was that we had a room which overlooked the entrance to a garage and neighbouring business, which generated some noise at around 06.30am each morning. This woykd not stop me from using or recommending Hotel Dematra again.
Great location. Staff very good. Breakfast a bit limited but not bad. Stayed in a superior room. The bed was super comfortable and the room spacious, modern and stylish. When we come back we will look at stopping here. Lots of good restaurantsband travel links nearby.
I booked the basic room, which was enough for me and my partner. Not big but was ok. Some of the grouting in the shower could have been done again, as it was missing in some places. The staff couldn't do enough for you, very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet has a good selection of different foods and drinks. Great location for different sights, Metro line close by. Would stay there again.
Amazing stay in Rome
We arrived at the hotel about 10am which is far to early for checking in. The reception staff was friendly and helpful and also showed us where the restroom was if we needed it. They said we can leave our luggage so it’s safe and then tagged everything. We were also given a map with the hotel marked to find our way back. The Hop-on Hop-off bus is just 5min walk up the street which is a great location. Many restaurants & cafes in the same street including the Opera House. We returned late afternoon from a busy day sightseeing and on returning our checkin took less than 10min. Our luggage was also already in our room. The room was spacious modern and immediately clean. The safe is big enough for a laptop and extras. We booked with breakfast included and this was great value and also very good and excellent variety on offer. The hotel also has a shuttle service that goes as far as the cruise terminal in Civitavecchia, the airport, bus and train station. The fee is a set fee so no nasty surprises. We will definitely stay here again on our next visit to Rome. Absolutely amazing place and ideal location
Good service and great atmosphere. Good place for visit Rome
Great location, breakfast selection was great, excellent service, everything was clean and tidy. The staff were all really helpful and kind and even remembered that it was my birthday, which was so unnecessary but very sweet. Great experience overall.
Only 1 block from train station, metro and hop on hop off bus stop. Had a lot of great restaurants close by. Cafe Washington next door has a very American type of menu if you get tired of pizza and pasta. They assisted us with getting a taxi a few times and the taxis always came within 3 minutes! Mini refrigerator items are free first night and then you can restock yourself. Breakfast was a good selection of hot and cold items.
Room was big enough and cleaned everyday and was very tidy. Breakfast was very nice and had plenty of choice. All the staff were extremely friendly and very very helpful and we are very thankful for their hospitality.
Very central near Termini. Right next to trains, buses etc. Ideal for walking. Hugh choice of wine bars, restaurants on your door step.Extremely friendly staff especially Angela at Reception. Smaller hotel, rooms small but very compact, super continental breakfast, spotless throughout (except for worn out carpet at entrance but hall being newly painted /decorated etc) 3 family couples stayed here.
Good location, no restaurant/room service option outside of breakfast.
The Demetra seems more like a boutique hotel which most of the hotels in this area were. It was beautiful, cute & comfy. 99% of the staff was friendly and accommodating. Angela, Juliana & Pierre Luigi were our favorites. They were so kind and sweet. One young Italian gentleman that worked the front desk didn’t seem to know his way around the hotel and though it’s possible he was new, his attitude didn’t help. The hotel’s breakfast was a nice spread and at a decent hour. PLEASE REAd
Look no further
The room and bed was comfortable and clean, friendly and helpful staffs. Price is reasonable, cheaper than around this area. There is a supermarket one block away. Train station is also very close, the restaurant around is nice too. If I must pick on something, probably the breakfast could be a little bit better. We stayed 4 nights and it all the same, by day 3 it is a bit... but overall a very pleasant stay.
Fine tuning needed
Hotel was lovely and where possible the staff were helpful. However we were a little surprised that in the Delux room we didn't have any coffee, only 3 tea bags. When we asked for coffee, they said no. Tea was not replenished so it was 4 nights with 3 tea bags. Such an easy thing to fix and would have made a big difference. We also asked for an iron as we were going to the opera and were told that it was too dangerous!
Had a lovely 3 night stay in late October, staff very friendly and very helpful. Hotel was located on the 1st floor of an old building and traditionally decorated. Room was nice, clean and airy with slippers for your comfort and a selection of toiletries, coffee making facilities, TV, safe, fridge with complimentary drink. Not the most comfiest of beds I have ever slept in with no mattress protector either but did have extra pillows. Decoration in the room was starting to look tired with a couple of loose bits of wallpaper, scratches on the bed head rest and a small hole in the ceiling with no grid (presumed for air con maintenance) but I suppose it was getting towards the end of the season - all cosmetic and none of which spoiled our stay. Location fantastic, good selection of restaurants close by and just a short walk to the main Termini. Breakfast was very basic but a good selection to choose from. This is a small boutique hotel and we would most definitely stay here again perfect base for exploring.

Convenient for Rome did not sleep well!
Hotel is conveniant walking distance to the Train station Roma Termini. 30 mins train ride from Airport. Hotel is within a building, 1st floor with a lift. Very welcomed by staff, allowed us to drop our bag off as our room was not ready. We stayed in room 103, ground floor street room. Lovely shower, lovely jetted bath after exploring the Roman city (when it worked) We had a good night sleep the first night with minimal noise from the side street. 2nd and 3rd night me and my wife was woken up to the sound of a hoover/pump noise behind the walls of the room. Every 30second it would come on then go off. You would only notice this at night when all quiet but enough to be disturbing. We also encountered the jetted bath pump randomly came on and stayed on for about 1 minute before shutting off and did not work from then onwards. We reported this which did get fixed but on the 3rd night the same issue happened but this time woke us up with a fright. If your a light sleeper do not stay in room 103. Breakfast service wasn’t the best on first day. Being busy, there was maybe 2 or 3 tables available but had old cups and plates from guests which had not been cleaned up. We got seated eating our breakfast with the old cups/plates still on the table. Beware, the bottles of water are not free in the mini fridge. Convenient but would not recommend for light sleepers.
