I would highly recommend this place to stay ! It’s Located conveniently to the center city and 5 min walk to the train station. Our room was super clean, modern and bed mattress was comfortable! I really felt like home there. Reception is friendly and professional! Highly recommended.
Totally modern and comfortable. And the air conditioning was great
Exceeded my expectations. Easily took the Tram2 train from the airport and walked about 10 minutes to the hotel.
Decent location, comfortable beds and rooms were spacious enough.
Good location and new rooms
All good for a short stay with a reasonable price
Nicely maintained, clean and spacious room. Breakfast buffet was good if a wee bit overpriced. A bit off the grid but principal sights were reasonably easy to get to and very close to city's main rail and bus stations as well as to tram stop.
Very very hard beds. Inconsistent hot water
Stayed 12 nights. Probably the most uncomfortably hard bed I have experienced and I have had experience with hard bed and do not typically mind. My wife said—someone made a mistake when getting these beds. No matter what time morning or evening it was uncertain if there would be hot water or not. Took plenty of unwanted cold-ish showers. On plus side ac was terrific. Place was clean and recently renovated. Good housekeeping. Nice location a bit out of the way but that was our preference so it was a plus for us. And management was nice enough.
Crisp and clean. Would stay again.
We'd avoided places 'near the train station' in the past, but Delle Camelie was in a very quiet location. The gentleman at the front desk was very helpful, finding us Farmacias on Sunday for Covid testing. He gave us a great recommendation for a place for dinner. It was right around the corner from the one that has cards at the Reception Desk. The armoire and open shelves provided great storage. We appreciated having multiple outlets for charging phones, a laptop, using a flat iron for hair, etc; we didn't need to take turns. Everything was very clean and crisp. Breakfast was much more than the 'continental' we thought we'd see in the morning. I want one of Those coffee machines for cappuccino at home. I like a firm mattress, but ours made 'firm' look cushy. We were so tired at the end of the day that it mattered only when we thought about it. Thank you, Delle Camelie, for a lovely stay.
Great place! Great Service! Great Location!
It was like a family atmosphere. The guy who was at the registration, we believed he’s the owner, was so friendly and helpful. I felt he was so sincere and cared about us. He remembers his guests so it’s very personable. The hotel, altho old is very clean. Great location! Close to public transportation and landmarks! Will recommend this hotel! I want also to extend our gratitude to the guy if I may?
Quiet area, friendly staff, and convenient location.
Great for the weekend!
The room was rustic with an old world charm. The staff were kind and helpful. Great internet connectivity and close to many tourist attractions. Breakfast was a little lacking with just a couple of croissants and coffee/juice.
Great Value in Florence
This small hotel is located about a 10 minute walk from the train station and about 20 minutes to the Duomo. It's located on a quiet street far enough away from the center to get a more local feel. The owner, Antonio, is a real friendly and knowledgeable host and made us feel real welcome. The room was on the small side with a double bed but it was clean and very quiet. The bathroom was adequate with a small shower, lots of hot water and good pressure. The free wifi was excellent, very strong. The hotel has a quaint and charming feel about it and offers a great value, we definitely recommend it.
Great location, charming and would stay again
Location close to the train station, about an 8 minute comfortable walk in a safe area and also easy walking to the top sites in Florence. While an older hotel, our room was good size, very clean and comfortable. Wifi worked without problems. Breakfast each morning were wonderful croissants, rolls, yogurt, juice and coffee and if you want more Antonio is quick to accommodate with a smile. When asked Antonio gave us two restaurant suggestions which turned out to be the best. We would definitely stay here again
Convenient
The owner was fantastic, helped with directions and restaurants, was a friendly place to stay not far from railway station and sites within walking distance. Large room, comfy beds and clean bathroom. Thoroughly enjoyed it and would return.
Helpful and charming staff
It was a difficult walk from the station with my suitcase and back pack due to the narrow footpaths and so many people
Good budget hotel close to all the main attraction
Good budget hotel close to all the main attractions
very nice & helpful staffs there
The staffs there are very nice and helpful. Although this hotel is a bit old and breadfast is simple but it does not matter i still have a nice stay there.just 10 minu walk distance from the train station to hotel and 15 minu from hotel to the main center. the surrounding is quiet and safe.
Close to train station...sorta
It wasn't too far from the train station. Few minutes walk to city center. Owner very nice!
Wonderful Place!
Wonderful place, close to the train station and to the city center. This hotel is attended by his owner, Antonio, who is a wonderful host, very nice and helpful. The room was very comfortable and clean. The breakfast was very nice too! One more thing, I asked Antonio for the best pizza place in Florence and he sent us to Fuoco Mato. I love pizza and for me, this is the best one I have ever tried. Also, the looks of the place are really nice and the attention is superv!! Thanks Antonio!!
nice room/good breakfast/close to train and San Ma
Nice big room, comfortable bed, brand new shower and floor and wall tiles in the bathroom. Helpful pleasant staff. Good breakfast with unlimited Americano coffee. Convenient location 7 min walk from train and bus station if you have booked countryside tours. 15 minute walk to San Marco. 10 minute walk to Central Market.
Homely and friendly services.
Friendly, helpful and homely feelings...throughlly enjoyed my stay..highnly recommended.
Excellent staff, older but decent accomodation
This is an older hotel located from the old city, about 15 minute walk away. This is a big plus in Florence, considering the crazy foot traffic in the center, especially on the weekend (doesn't stop until 5AM). The train station is 10 minute walk, so is the bus station to Siena. The room is older, and the bathroom is a little inconvenient due to the lack of shower curtain. Personally, I think they could get rid of the bidet to gain more room in the bathroom. This is about the only minus for an otherwise decent budget accommodation. The staff is extremely nice, especially the older gentleman who was there in the day time. Breakfast is a little lacking, but considering the price, I don't think it's possible to offer more and still turn a profit.
Overall nice stay
Hotel staffs were very friendly and helpful. Nice location - walking distance to all main attractions and train station. One thing that I didn't like was that there was no shower booth/curtain in the restroom - shower head is located between toilet stall and sink. (I also wished breakfast breads were fresher.)
Good location and very friendly staff. Antonio was very helpful and kind. Walking distance to everything. Safe area.Nice courtyard.
QUITE, CLEAN HOTEL with friendly staff
Very quite small hotel away from the loud tourist centre but within walking distance or around 6 Euros by taxi from the train station. If you are looking for a basic, clean, quite hotel at a reasonable rate this is the place. Antonio has owned this hotel for many years and enjoys his work with pride. Very friendly and very helpful. He speaks fluent English. It was very hot during my stay in July 2015 but the air conditioning was strong and quite. I will come again!
This hotel was perfect for our stay it's close to everything without being stuck right in the city the staff were so friendly and catered to our every needs
Enjoyable stay
Had a few days to fill in Florence. Ended up staying here as it's near to the train station. Hotel is in a quiet part of town and the staff are really friendly which made for an enjoyable stay. Thank you!
nice place,good location
Extremely Friendly helpful staff, good breakfast, very clean room and showers, good location
Small, but clean
Tiny room, but clean and air conditioned. Nice staff. Convenient location in quiet neighborhood near the train station. Returning the key whenever one leaves is still a bit weird though. Perfectly acceptable for the price.
Excellent bed and breakfast
Excellent location, quiet but not far to walk to station and centre, and lovely friendly service. Pleasant rooms and breakfast.
Great hotel on quiet street!
We loved staying at Delle Camelie. It was a short walk from the bus stop and from all the sights we wanted to see. Antonio was a gracious host and very knowledgeable about Florence. His restaurant recommendations were spot on, and he was always available for questions. Breakfast was served in a room off the lobby and we had a selection of rolls and croissants, as well as yogurt, coffee and juice each day. There was a large spread of jams, nutella, butter and cream cheese, too. We were well fed every morning. When I go back to Florence I will definitely stay here again!
Just Ok.
Very nice folks but an older, bit tired property. Clean. No complaints just better choices for sure.
Italian bathrooms....
Beware of the single room with no shower stall ... Just a shower head. Water get every where but floor drain works well. The bedette (sp) quite ironic and useless in light of this. The morning host is very helpful and friendly.
Great Budget Hotel
Within easy walking distance if the station and tourist sites .In quiet steer .Manager and staff helpful and friendly . Tick all the boxes in a budget hotel . Continental breakfast sets you up for the day .Hot powerful shower .
Solid, basic hotel with fabulous staff
After spending a sleepless night in a hostel, I needed my own space. Delle Camelie provided a spartan but comfortable room with private bath that did the trick for only about $20 more than the hostel. Location was fantastic -- close to Firenze SMN and all of Florence's major attractions. Staff were extraordinarily warm, welcoming, and kind. If you're looking for a clean room at a low cost, this is the place. If creature comforts and fine linens are your thing, you might want to keep looking.
Nice hotel, smallish room, basic amenities
Good location (10min walk to station, 5 min to conference site Fortezza da Basso, 15 min to dome). Staff is very friendly, speaks many languages (heard Italian, French, English). Typical Italian breakfast (rolls & jam, crackers, pastry, coffee and oj). Quiet area.
Friendly and a good location
We enjoyed our stay here. The owner was very friendly and helpful when we needed a taxi or an extra map. Breakfast was good, with good coffee. The location was close enough to walk to everything but far enough away to be quiet at night when we slept.
COZY TRADITIONAL HOTEL
Nice friendly cozy place. Very clean, nice breakfast and very friendly staff.
Good Hotel Near the Sights
Good 2 star hotel. Location excellent, only 20 mins walk to the Duomo, and near the train station. The room was adequate and clean with en-suite facilities. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We would be happy to use again.
Nice place with character.
Stayed here for 8 nights during a conference; I needed something relatively inexpensive. Stayed in both a double room with ensuite and a single with shared bath. Both were just fine.
Decent hotel
Front desk people are great; always trying to please. The hotel is ok for the money although I paid 60 Euro a night including wifi and breakfast but thought it was a little too much for what you get. You do get all the coffee you can drink for breakfast but then you only get a sweet roll and an regular roll. I wasn't disappointed overall, but I definitely didn't think "Hey, this is great," either. I definitely don't agree with the 4.2 rating giving by Expedia raters; mid to higher 3 at most.
Good small hotel
We found the hotel to be quite well located for the station, restaurants and the museums etc. Some might not find the breakfast to be adequate but we don´t eat much in the mornings anyway so were perfectly happy with it. The staff, especially the owner, were excellent being very helpful. Enjoyed our stay and would recommend this hotel.
unexpected service of hotel ower and good location
Nice comfortable and cozy little place.
I stayed here 3 days with my mother during a round trip in Italy. We had a nice room facing the yard. The room was not big, but there was a high ceiling so the room felt spacey. The bathroom was nice and clean. The hotel is placed in a quite street and we had no trouble with noises from outside or inside the hotel. The owner was very nice and smiling, an helped us out on a few occasions. The breakfast consisted of some bread and a grossaint, juice and coffee (typical Italian breakfast). It took around 10 min. to walk to the station or the old part of Firenze. Overall a very nice stay, with good value for money. It is of cause not luxurious, but who would expect that, at those prices. I would definitely come back to Delle Camelie.
Close to train station
An easy five minute walk from the train station but have good directions and know which side of the station you are leaving because it is easy to head in the wrong direction. Some street names on Google do not match the street signs, and names change every few blocks. The gentleman at the desk is friendly and will bring you the same breakfast every day to the dining area - cappucino, orange juice, croissant, and roll. Dealt with mosquitoes in the room nearly every evening because the staff left a window open. The whole bathroom doubles as a shower. Easy walk south to the heart of the Florence tourist area. Never used a car. Restaurants are concentrated as you head in that direction, but few are right near the hotel. Spent five nights here and would stay again because of the location and staff.
Kind staff, pleasant hotel, value for the money
The locatioin is a bit far from S.M.N. and a little hard to find as many small paths are around there but it's still walking distance - 10-15 min. walk from the station. Staff are very kind and the service is very pleasant. The hotel is also quiet as it's not facing big streets at any sides. It seems all the rooms are located on the ground floor so you do not need to carry heavy baggage to the upper floor. I could borrow hair dryer which is better than usual hair dryer in Italy attached in the bathroom. Breakfast is simple but cuppcino was good and the staff even asked me if I want the second.
residential area but close to everything. I just had a bad experience with the internet conection, that didn't work in the room.
Odd Bathrooms
The two major problems with this hotel were its location and its bathrooms. The hotel was further from the main sights in Florence than I expected from the map and directions (at least a 10-minutes walk from the train station and 20 minutes from the Duomo. The surrounding area was fine, however. The problem with my bathroom was the floor of the entire bathroom got wet when I took a shower as there was nothing separating the shower area from the rest of the bathroom, not even a shower curtain! And the floor was slippery when wet. In my son's room the situation was much the same, though there was a shower curtain. There was still nothing to prevent the water from the shower spreading out over the rest of the floor.
Nice family run hotel ;-)
This is a very nice family run hotel. The owner is like my grand father. The room is very clean. The location is very convenient to Florence center. I will stay in this hotel next time. You too.
Great Hospitality and Location
This smaller hotel is located within walking distance of major attractions along with the train station and bus station. There are a small number of rooms and every guest seems to receive customized service. Antonio at the front desk was wonderful; he assisted us in learning Italian phrases to make our travels easier and seemed to do everything including serve our breakfast. We were pleased and would stay there again.
Mosquito Feeding FRENZY!!!!
We chose this hotel as we needed a relatively cheap accomodation for a short period. What a mistake, this places wasn't worth saving a few quid. The building is dark and dingy, the rooms are just about acceptable. The TV is so small, you'd have to sit right in front of it to see anything. They don't provide any shower gel, only shampoo in a sachet. During a 2 nights stay, our room wasn't cleaned at all. They didn't even provide new towels. And then there were the mozzies. The walls of the room were covered in the splattered bodies of mosquitos. This was a tell tell sign that our nights sleep wouldn't end well. I must have been bitten at least 10 times on the first night and 4 more times the following day including on the face. Similar numbers for my gf. Despite the airconditioning in the room, this didnt detract them from having a good meal on us. Pay the extra money and go to somewhere better.
I felt very much at home
I was very happy with my stay at Camille. The bed was a little soft for me, but I still slept. I didn't get the owners name, but he is an absolute sweetheart and is more than willing to help you if you need to know anything. I had gotten downstairs 5 minutes after breakfast ended and asked something, but he wouldn't answer me until I sat down and ate something. It felt like something my dad would do :-) and as a female solo traveller, I felt very safe. It's a about 10-15 min walk from main train station and the same to the center of Florence where the Duomo is. I am not a fan of Florence at all but it's a good base to get to other cities, and this hotel did make my stay more enjoyable
Nice Hotell in Florence
The Hotel is very nice in this category. The service and coffe are very good. The room was ordinary but comfortable.
bella
hey...great little room..great location...Antonio was lovely and very helpful..Itay was also a charming and learned gentleman..they both made my stay very memorable..highly recommeded on a 50 euro budget
Great Stay in Florence!
My husband and I enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The location was great within walking distance of the train station and most popular attractions. The hotel itself is on a quiet road away from noise. We had a big, nice, clean room and feel like we paid a good rate for what we got. It is run by a sweet older man who was happy to help with anything. Our double bed was two twins pushed together so there were a few times where we needed to adjust the bed frames/mattresses. Breakfast was a meager selection of bread, spreads, coffee and juice. It left you wanting. The internet access was very choppy and slow, intermittent at best. If you are looking for a quite stay at a decent two star hotel this place is lovely.
Delle Camelie in Florence. A worthy albergo
Clean, nice and confortable; however the best aspect is its Manager. Impossibel to be more friendly, kind and helpful. Thank you very much.
Old decent hotel
The hotel is good, its old with an old furniture but the bed was comfortable, we booked a double room but they checked us in in a quadri room so it was HUGE, bathroom in clean, breakfast is simple, its 10 min walking from central station.
Good value for the money
Generally good. Probably, the only is the shower sink right in front of the toilet bowl. After shower, the entire bathroom floor is wet.
On of the best in Italy, where we travelled this time a month. So friendly and polite .Location on side street but not far from any turist atraction. It seems to be mostly full becouse of good and friendly reputation.
Voltaria a me hospedar neste hotel e recomendo.
Close to the railway station
