Very nice.

Service is decent at Decu hotel,, but do not rent a room on the bottom floor as you will hear every foot step of the occupent above, which is nerve wrecking. Also, every time you leave and want to reenter the hotel, a staff member has to run to the front door to let you in. They dont give you a key.

Outstanding place to stay

High end and charming boutique, with modern luxury decor and furnishing built into a classical hacienda. Outstanding and friendly staff. Excellent included breakfast.

This is a wonderful hotel with a great location, friendly and helpful staff. The lounge and pool areas, the garden and the rooms were beautiful.

Very clean

A little gem in the center of Mérida

This hotel is a little gem. The location is very close to the historical center. The room, patio, pool, and garden are absolutely gorgeous. The service is excellent. The receptionist had good recommendations for tours and restaurants. The continental breakfast that was included with the night was very good. The only thing that I would improve would be to let the guests know in advance via email about the parking options available nearby as there is no hotel parking.

El lugar es muy lindo, la limpieza excelente y el personal muy amable. Les falta personal en general! La chica de la cocina estuvo sola cocinando, atendiendo tomando órdenes, recogiendo,lo que hace el servicio lentísimo, el pan y el café muy malos todo lo demás muy bien En la alberca el primer día no hubo nadie para pedir algo de tomar, el siguiente día nos atendió Lu muy bien pero igual sola haciendo todo. El check out medio confuso solo te dan el total sin desglose y nada impreso no sabes que te están cobrando, hasta que sacaron la compu y nos enseñaron todo El lugar vale mucho la pena y seguro mejorarán el servicio pronto 😅

Beautiful space. Completely not thought out detail. No amenities at all. Terrible bathrooms. One wicker stool in the room. No place to put ANYTHING!! Concept not worked through. No turn down service. Horrible staircase to upper floor. Easiest way to fall and break your neck. They Really need to figure out details.

Decu Downtown is a quiet sanctuary in the middle of Merida. What a find! We instantly fell in love with the decor, the spacious rooms, the food and the gorgeous outdoor spaces. The warm hospitality from its young staff plus a fabulous location make Decu is a five star property on every level. We are seasoned travelers, and can honestly say that was one of our top boutique hotel experiences worldwide. We can’t wait to return to Decu Downtown.

This is a beautiful, unique property that is like an oasis in the central part of Merida. Great to spend time relaxing, and really close to restaurants, shops, and Merida activities in the old quarter.

Very elegant, old world feel to this casona. With only five guest rooms and with all the personal attention Robert and Michael give you, you feel more like a guest in their home than at a Hotel. Highly recommended.

Property was very clean and we love the quaintness about it.

Villa Verde was a delightful place to stay in the heart of Merida’s historic district. Co-owner Robert welcomed us at the door of the lovely remodeled Spanish colonial home and gave us good advice for planning our visit. The pool/fountain was great for relaxing after a day of sightseeing. The complementary breakfast was thoughtfully prepared with local ingredients. Fantastic property only a few blocks walk from either the cathedral and main plaza or the many squares and great food options in Merida. Robert was a terrific host and the daily breakfast was a feast for the eyes as well as the stomach ! Highly recommend Villa Verde.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Villa Verde. The rooms, breakfasts, bar area, location in town were perfect. The hotel staff were amazing. Thank you for a wonderful couple of days. We will return again and definitely recommend.

Oasis in the City

We had a great stay at Villa Verde! The rooms are a great size and kept very clean. The location was perfect as it was just a short walk (about 15 minutes was the farthest we went) to everything we wanted to see. The hosts give you tons of info that was SO helpful - restaurants with specific personal recommendations, bar recommendations, cultural info and tips, and maps of all of it. And the homemade breakfast every morning was not only convenient, but delicious! We really loved how intimate it all felt. With only 5 guest rooms, you feel like you have the place to yourself most of the time. It was so relaxing to sit by a beautiful pool without screaming kids! If I had to nitpick, my only complaints would be the shower (water gets all over the floor in the bathroom, even when we tried to move the shower head over) and I could smell faint cigarette smoke sometimes (not a big deal, but just something to consider if you're really sensitive to that). Overall, we had a great time and definitely recommend Villa Verde!

Couldn’t be more perfect!!!

Villa Verde was a wonderful place!!! Small & intimate. Only 5 rooms. It felt like Home:) the food was incredible & the service was great! The owners are very friendly & so so helpful! I highly recommend this place! & the breakfast was to die for 😋😋😋 ***note that you will need to make a separate payment to the hotel via PayPal. As They do not get your credit card info from hotels.com. This can be slightly confusing but in no way should this discourage anyone to stay here. It was absolutely perfect & a great price:) book your stay now!

One of my most wonderful hotel stays ever!

An amazing, really stylish small boutique hotel with wonderful owners, great hospitality and massive attention to detail to make you really feel like you are staying at home - apart from the fact that very few people have homes like that ... An absolute must stay when in Merida - or even worth a visit on its own right!

Gorgeous oasis with fabulous service.

We had rented a home in Merida with friends for a week; when our friends flew home, we spent our 3 final nights at gorgeous Villa Verde. It is a relaxing retreat in a convenient location near Santa Lucia Park, splendidly decorated in a thoughtful balance of modern and traditional, in a palette of soothing understated colors, wonderful details and accessories, and with the constant sound of fountains. The common areas in particular are stunningly gorgeous, and our room was beautiful. The staff's service was extremely thorough, elegant, friendly and helpful. It was fun to have the 3 well-trained small pet dogs scampering around from time to time (and 2 cats peeking out behind the screens to owners' quarters.) The gourmet breakfasts in the pretty poolside breakfast area were exceptional. The common areas in particular are stunningly gorgeous and our room was spacious and comfortable. The bar offers excellent beverages and on most evenings, delicious gourmet tapas are available. One night we stayed in and made a meal from the bar; as we were the only guests doing so, we had the beautiful poolside eating area to ourselves as well as fun interactions with the staff; it was a heavenly evening.

A beautiful, intimate place to stay ....

A very pleasant stay. Quiet, comfortable and relaxing, and so nice to return to after a day wondering around town. My wife and I have been to Merida on several occasions, but this was the first time staying at this location. Villa Verde is perfectly located in parque Santa Lucía as it is only a few blocks either way from Plaza Grande to Santa Ana/Montejo areas. The property is very well kept and the rooms are spacious. With only five rooms we rarely saw other couples and it felt like our own personal hacienda. This property is perfect for those new to the area or returning time and time again. Highly recommended!

Mala relación costo-beneficio

No sirvió nunca el wifi en la habitación. Al no haber wifi tampoco servía la televisión por lo que no pudimos ver Netflix ni tampoco trabajar. Había lámparas fundidas y poca presión en el agua de la regadera. Los baños de la alberca no tenían papel y los camastros estaban sucios con insectos muertos. En general se veía descuidado y sucia el area de alberca. El desayuno que fue lo más básico unos huevos estaba realmente malo. Lo único positivo que puedo decir de la estancia es que todo el personal siempre fue muy atento.

Es una muy buena opción porque son pocos cuartos y es Pet Friendly, lo único es que hay 2 categorías de cuartos y en la categoría de mayor costo hay 4 cuartos, 3 de ellos en la planta alta y 1 en la planta baja. El de planta baja debería tener un precio/categoria menor porque se escuchan los pasos, voces y como corre el agua del cuarto de arriba.

Todo muy bien, la gente muy atenta y muy cerca del centro, pero no tenia un gimnasio, que ojalá lo pudieran poner, algo sencillo, y con esto si me gustaria quedarme de nuevo...

Fuimos en pareja, el hotel es muy lindo, construido y decorado con mucho gusto. El servicio y los detalles dejan un poco que desear; La limpieza de la piscina es muy pobre, y la utilizamos justo después de su mantenimiento. El desayuno es pobre y de mediana calidad, no el que esperas de un hotel boutique por 300usd la noche. Las mesas sucias con migas, falta mucho cuidado en los detalles. El mismo hotel con un buen Gerente, con experiencia, sería otra historia. Los muchachos muy atentos, pero les falta guía.

Mixed feelings about this hotel

Let me start off by saying that we don't usually stay in hotels as nice -and pricy!- as this one. Perhaps this has some sort of bias in my review! The hotel is an absolutely gem. It's gorgeous, and you'll feel like taking picture of it all day long. The room was spacious and we loved the architecture style -modern but very inspired by traditional Merida architecture. On the other hand, I have to admit that I felt that the hotel was a bit stingy. The included breakfast was very frugal -and even if you were to ordered milk with your coffee, the would charge you for it. Wi-Fi wasn't great in our bedroom, and they couldn't fix it. The hotel staff were always willing to help and serve, but sometimes didn't know how (i.e., I called them a few days in advance to book a trip through them to Chichen Itza and I was astonished by how little they communicated to me about the trip -it almost sounded as if they didn't want me to buy through them!). It is perhaps because of these reasons, along with the very high price of the hotel, that I wouldn't recommend it to someone else. Merida is gorgeous and fun and safe, and there are many other great hotels. I hope this helps someone else.

Nous avons passé un merveilleux séjour, je recommande cet hôtel sans hésiter. Points forts: 2 types de design des chambres : type hacienda et type tulum. Nous avions les chambres tulum qui donnent sur la piscine, déclaration très épurée, douche en béton ciré. Service très attentionné, localisation en plein centre ville mais aucune nuisance sonores dans l’hôtel. Il est possible de se garer sur le parking de l’hôtel d’a côté pour 100 pesos par jour. Point négatif: Il manque des petits accessoires de toilette: type coton, sèche cheveux dans la chambre.
