Charming inn with friendly innkeepers. The room was lovely and very comfortable. I enjoyed watching the sunrise from the back porch. I would stay there again on my next trip.
This was the highlight of our trip. Such nice people there on staff. We enjoyed wonderful accommodations and conversation. Also saw beautiful deer in the backyard!!! Will certainly stay again!!
Nice, quiet. Guest Wi-Fi was very poor. Easy sign in and sign out procedures. Comfortable beds.
Easily one of the best B&B’s in West Texas. A beautiful house with comfortable rooms, a great breakfast, and Sid and Elena are wonderful hosts. We will stay here on anll our future visits to the Fort Davis area in the future.
Clean, spacious, friendly
Quiet area but very convenient to anything in Ft. Davis! Comfortable bed, private bathroom...innkeepers super nice and provided fantastic breakfast with lovely conversation! Porches for viewing gardens and mountains...would definitely stay here again!
It is a beautiful house and property. The owner was very kind and helpful.breakfast was good. The only issue I had with our suite was that the AC was not ideal and there wasn’t enough lighting in the bathroom. Otherwise was a very pleasant stay.
A beautiful home and great breakfast.
We stayed after a star party at Mcdonald observatory. Great breakfast in the morning. Excellent, highly recommended
The innkeepers were helpful and friendly and made a great breakfast.
.
Beautiful B&B with spacious rooms, lovely decor, and a fabulous full breakfast - compliments of Sid (Grandpa Grandpa). A quiet oasis after a day exploring Big Bend NP. Just wow!
Modern BnB with clean room, Mountain View. Close proximity to downtown.
The beds were comfortable and breakfast was tasty. The best thing by far was the caretakers Sid and Elana. They even brought their dog to visit us on the porch because my sister was missing her dogs. Lovely people
We were very blessed to find this place!!
This was the perfect place for our Ft Davis weekend. Sid and Elena were so welcoming and the breakfast was delicious. ( I was sad to wake up and not smell the coffee and bacon when I awoke in my own home this morning.)The beds were comfortable, and the location was great for our Marfa and Observatory trips. Met some really great folks over breakfast which was an unexpected bonus. We will for sure be back! Thanks for a great stay!
The Davis Mountain Inn was a fantastic property for our road trip. Beautiful home with great rooms. The inn keepers were very hospitable with an easy check in great service. We were out late at the McDonald Observatory and he made a point to leave a light on for us so we could make our way home. We would stay there again for sure.
Very satisfied with our stay
This inn is very difficult to find. We arrived at about 11 pm after an hour of travel along dark, winding roads and could not find the inn, even with our GPS. So we called the inn, told our host the name of the street where we were and he came to get us. His friendliness and helpfulness was evident throughout our stay. The house is lovely and the grounds inviting for some peaceful quiet time.
very good!
This is the sweetest little bed and breakfast!
Hosts Sid and Elena were great! Property was wonderful and we plan to come back to explore more of Fort Davis.
Sid our host made us feel very welcome. Our room was really comfortable and clean. The house is lovely and homely, We found a lovely restaurant in the town and after dinner sat in the garden star gazing. Breakfast was lovely and we had a nice chat with Sid.
Birding for the accidental birder was fascinating--from the canyon towhees, to the lesser goldfinches, the white-crowned sparrows, the barn swallows, several species of dove, the curve-billed thrasher, the vermillion flycatcher (what a beauty), and the four to six blue grosbeaks playing in the sprinkler
Extremely roomy. Outdated decor. Not enough lighting. TV did not work
The staff were great. Especially Elena. She was very helpful in suggesting things to do in Fort Davis. Great breakfast. Big room and great bathroom. Very quiet and peaceful. Close to town. Reasonable price. Would definitely recommend this place.
Loved the traditional bed and breakfast style home with breakfast in the kitchen with the inn keepers. Great atmosphere! Would highly recommend and and would rewritten if in the area.
Amazing stay. Great breakfast. Comfortable and cozy. Ideal for a weekend getaway
We have stayed here before and have enjoyed both stays. It is a lovely property. We had to leave too early on this trip so we didn't get to enjoy their breakfast, but I recall from the last trip that breakfast was goo.
The Davis Mountains Inn was amazing! It felt more like a home than an Inn. Sid & Elena were amazing hosts! Delicious breakfast every morning and the place was so clean and comfy. Would definitely recommend to friends and family. You won't be disappointed. 10/10
Very cute and quaint B&B. The owners are so friendly and helpful. The breakfast was fantastic and the sleeping was also very good. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Very friendly hosts. Good directions but a small sign on the front of the house would have helped. Only down side was the steep stairs up to the loft room and the mattress was much softer than we are used to. Excellent breakfast and nice getting to know the other guests.
The property was excellent and the inn keepers were also just fantastic!! Could not have asked for more. Would stay there again just because of them! Nice rooms, breakfast fresh made every day, great service!
Our room was spacious, quiet and clean. The on-site managers were so welcoming and helpful. The house is gorgeous and immaculately maintained. Homemade breakfast was delicious and there was always a freshly brewed pot of coffee. It's a short drive to the McDonald Observatory and convenient to town. We were very comfortable in this lovely B&B and wanted for nothing.
Hosts very accommodating and property lovely.
Hope to return
The Inn is a delightful place to stay, beautiful building, room was lovely. I enjoyed the short trip into town for a bite to eat. It was a beautiful drive off I-10.
The owners of this property, Bill and Nancy, are fantastic!
Very nice accommodations! Easy access to McDonald Observatory
Great inn experience. Sid was a great host and the breakfast was outstanding!
Very tasteful and beautiful house. It feels so homy!
We had a wonderful 3 day stay. Our host was so nice and very accommodating. Our breakfast each morning was a great start to the day. Highly recommend and would stay here again.
In a time where people throw things together without any respect for what they are doing, this was a wonderful surprise! It was obvious that the owner and both Sid and Elena took pride in the Inn. It was a wonderful experience! Kathy and Dick
The staff was wonderful! The breakfasts were delicious and the house was lovely and peaceful. When we asked for help with getting the World Series Sid helped immediately. Thank you for a wonderful stay!!
Can't Wait To Return!
Our stay was PHENOMENAL!!! We enjoyed visiting with our hosts, and they cooked and served us a delicious breakfast eack morning. Thank you for making the first part of our trip the best ever.
Ft Davis
The B&B was nice. Check in was easy and fast. Breakfast was delicious.
Very peasant stay. Hosts were very kind/ went out of their way to make our stay as pleasant as possible. Would definitely stay again. Our one disappointment was that it was a cloudy night and we could not see the magnificent stars. We’ll have to return to catch that show!
Decent place
The caretakers were really nice. Breakfast was just ok compared to other B&Bs we stayed at. Our room did not have a TV. Not their fault, but Ft Davis is a pathetic little town. The best place to eat in town was a deli. The best place to eat if you’re willing to drive 10 miles, is a food truck at Chateau Wright.
Friendly location in Fort Davis. We used it as a base to the McDonald Observatory. Enjoyed the self-check in…hosts were very kind
ALL STAR RATING!!
From the location to the McDonald Observatory and visible night sky at the property to the comfort of our room and peacefulness surrounding the grounds to the hospitality and warmth demonstrated and felt over breakfast, our stay was absolutely unforgettable!!! Our only complaint and regret is that we only booked for one night!!! We absolutely LOVED it and would recommend this place 200%! Thank you for sharing your home and your hearts with us!!
A perfect experience. Friendly, caring staff. Comfortable bed.
Overall a pleasant stay. Surprised there was not housekeeping. We asked for none the first morning but assumed the second would be provided. Perhaps we should have asked...it was not a "deal breaker" just surprised.
Beautiful B&B in remote country. Kara was the hostess when we visited and she great. Welcoming, friendly, informative.
Best B&B stay ever!!!
It was great. Sid and Elana were wonderful hosts and the home was immaculate. Room was spacious and bed was comfortable. Breakfast was expertly prepared and plentiful.
The home is lovely..bed and linens the best!
Highly recommended
Third time staying here. Location, staff, and facility are great.
A pleasant experience!!
It was my first experience of staying in bed n breakfast facility which turned out to be pleasant. Sid and Elena maintained and managed the property very well. The provided friendly and professional customer service.
Great B&B with great breakfast and host
A great B&B. We stayed in the Guide Peak Room. Very comfortable, the host was incredibly hospitable. Breakfast was great! Will definitely return if we’re in the area again.
highly recommend
We loved our stay at Davis Mountains Inn!! We stayed in the Sleeping Lion room two nights. It was a large bedroom with a beautiful bathroom with tub, shower and double sinks. Breakfast was fabulous both mornings! One evening we stayed out late at the observatory and the lights were left on for us welcoming us home. The next night we sat out on the back porch and watched the birds, bats and finally a star-filled sky! We will definitely stay here again the next time we’re in West Texas!
Great place to stay as far as the accommodations. The room was lovely and very clean. The grounds around the house are peaceful and full of wildlife, such as many bird species and bunnies. One could sit for hours listening to the wildlife and watching the sky. The breakfast was very limited and next time we will eat in town, just to have some options. The local cell service is close to nonexistent and the wifi at the house worked only intermittently. Maybe that is good because it aided in the serenity of the place. Many restaurant options close by.
Loved the location and the breakfast. Very nice caretakers!!!
It was fantastic.
Excellent place to stay in Fort Davis
The Davis Mountain Inn is a lovely house with the comfortable feel of a family home. The hosts Sid and his wife are very welcoming and nothing is too much trouble - they also provide an excellent breakfast. A very relaxing and comfortable place to stay.
Dad and son vacation
Amazing B&B The care taker is knowledgeable in the local area, provided local list on what is available for sight seeing. breakfast is home made and well balanced. Are room was very clean and the tv provided “Dish network”. lots of parking area from suv to rv size.
Beautiful, peaceful, friendly Bed & Breakfast
We very much enjoyed our short one night stay. Very friendly keepers, beautiful little place, cozy and with everything you need. Our 4 children stayed in the Fisher Hill Suite and us in the Sleeping Lion Master. We liked the private entrances to both as well as the outside porch areas for viewing the beautiful night sky. We were able to check in late, check out late and they even left breakfast out late for us. Thank you and we will be back!
Fabulous stay
Fabulous day the best BNB, we have ever stayed in. The innkeepers were wonderful and friendly. The rooms were beautiful and clean and the breakfast was fabulous. Everything about this state was exceptional. I would do it again in a minute.
Nice breakfast
This place was so beautiful and peaceful. And breakfast was amazing. Absolutely loved it!
This inn was a great find! And Sid, the caretaker, was very attentive and thoughtful. Breakfast was delicious! The WiFi was awful, but, if you go to the Davis Mountains for the WiFi, you've probably got bigger problems. A wonderful place to stay!
Amazing stay
Its was our 3rd time at this B+B and once again it was a great stay. Cj and Randy took care of us with so much love while the original house keeper sid had to leave. And when sid got back he continued this wonderful care. Such an amazing property. And the were so sweet and patient woth our 18 month old. They treat you like familie amd make sure you feel at home. I also love how you get to sit with other guests at one table, it just spurs on conversations. We met a few really nice and interesting people. I just love this place. So quiet peaceful beautiful and well taken care of. We will be back for sure
.
This was an excellent experience in travel stay. Very nice B&B type stay with very friendly, courteous staff and excellent amenities. Very clean and well kept. This was probably the best stay we had in a 10 day trip through Texas.
Enjoyed it all - property workers were wonderful!
We were there birding in Davis Mts and they had many new birds to us in their yard!
Great bed & location
That bed was SOOO comfy! The innkeepers were so nice and made us comfortable. Breakfast was fantastic!
The inn keepers were very friendly and cooked very well for us. The place was super clean and pretty. There is a great view of the mountains also.
Love this Inn, the inn keepers where awesome, so accommodating. They made us a lovely breakfast every morning, we felt spoiled!! Highly recommend this place!!
Great bed and breakfast for families
Very comfortable setup for families and the hosts were great!
Our hosts were friendly and very accommodating! They prepared a 5 star breakfast every morning including eggs, hasnbrowns, biscuits, pancakes or waffles, white gravy, yogurt, granola, homemade salsa and orange juice. Coffee was always available. And we could use the refrigerator. The view from the back porch of sunrise and sunset over the mountains- stunning! If I go back I will not get the room that leads upstairs from the laundry room. It became very warm at night. I think any of the other rooms would have been lovely. The inn is quite large and we saw guests usually at breakfast a few at the time. Very enjoyable to meet people from all over. Overall a very enjoyable stay!
Beautiful home. Very hospitable good food and stargazing at night was stunning Expedia directions sent us 20 mi off course with no phone reception Google took us to right location
Lovely home, wonderful breakfast
Visiting the McDonald Observatory first time
Really nice place. Bed and Breakfast. Wasn't there much but enjoyed the stay. Only issue was the WiFi was weak and we could not get it to stay hooked up. No big deal. Rooms were nice. Breakfast was great
The hosts were so nice and went out of their way to make our stay pleasant.
This place far exceeded my expectations. I stayed for one night. Room was very clean and comfortable. Owners were really friendly and happy to offer help with the area. Beautiful property, quiet, excellent night sky. Homemade breakfast included and dinner option available for $15, nice if you're coming from afar and don't want to deal with area restaurant options. This was a little outside the area I was actually there to visit (Alpine) but I'm really glad I chose here, highly recommend! Coffee ready in the morning!
Such an incredible stay, can’t wait to be back!
Quiet and peaceful. Aunt Barb was amazing!
Nice but lacking heating in our room
Beautiful house and room. The breakfast was wonderful as well as the conversation other guests and manager. Our room did not have central heating. There was one small electric space heater for the bedroom area and one for the bathroom. Except for being cold in the morning, our stay was very nice. The owners need to put central air and heat in the addition we stayed in.
Great hime, co firtabke with friendly person caring for the hone. Grwat breakfast and enjoyed visiting with otger guests and caretaker.
The room was very nice & clean, but it was up a long set of stairs with no elevator access. So, be ware if you have trouble bringing luggage up stairs. There's a slanted ceiling in the room (peak of the roof) that you can easily hit your head on, which I did a couple of times. Breakfast was excellent, cooked fresh by the staff.
Davis mnt getaway
Lovely bed and breakfast. The breakfast meal was wonderful.
It is a beautiful property close to downtown FT Davis yet very quiet. Barb was our hostess who made great breakfasts and provided valuable incite into things to do in the area.
Davis Mountain Inn
We loved it at Davis Mountain Inn, it was quiet, comfortable, clean, and we felt like we were home. We also loved the breakfast, it was just like home, but someone else cooking it.
Davis Mountains Inn, Ft. Davis, Texas
The Davis Mountains Inn is a bed and breakfast located about a mile from Ft. Davis, Texas. Another guest showed me where to pick up the key to my room and told me where to find things. Staff is present around 7 a.m. to make breakfast and clean the rooms. Then staff leaves for the rest of the day. The weather was perfect with a low in the 50's and high in the 70's in early September. They had had a lot of rain which broke a yearlong drought. The mountains were green. Ft. Davis has lots of places to eat, and it caters to tourists. Most license plates were from farther east in Texas although I saw several out-of-state plates as well. The McDonald Observatory is a great draw as well as the old Ft. Davis from frontier days. Our host regaled us with tales of local critturs. Ft. Davis had had a live black bear walk through downtown a year ago. Nobody was hurt and no damage was done although it gave old timers another story to share.
The house was very nice. It needed a lot of upkeep on the outside of the resort but the inside of the resort was very clean. Our room was awesome and the breakfast was mediocre but then again we’re not big breakfast people. They did not have some of the amenities that were used to for bread at breakfast like hot water for Coco etc.
very nice spacious room, delicious breakfast, arrival would be better if map of room location- had to search trough house for our room. otherwise very enjoyable stay.
Unique stay with great room and fantastic host
Solid digs in Fort Davis.
Breakfast was very good. Pancakes, frittata, bacon, good coffee. A bit hard to find using address and gps. Decor a bit dated.
Lovely house
My husband and I stayed here so we could go to the McDonald Observatory. It is a lovely house. We had the Sleeping Lion room, and it was originally the master bedroom, so we had our own bath with amazing tub!
It is a bed and breakfast set-up. The charm of an old, but nice home. The hostess was friendly and welcoming when we came down for breakfast. I neglected to see shared bathroom accommodations but it turned out fine. Would be nice for big family or a group to rent out. There’s also an RV hook- up site next to it.
Nice property. Good location to observatory
Gem of a B&B in Fort Davis
A beautiful and quaint bed and breakfast, run by exceptional owners, Nancy and Bill, who are extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the area. The breakfast was terrific. The accommodations were attractive, comfortable, clean, and quiet. The property is located a very short distance out of town, and it's a great spot for star gazing.
