The hotel is very overrated. Small and noisy rooms.

DasPaul is an excellent choice for couple nights in Nurnberg. Staff & service are beyond the usual ( thank you Christen !). I highly recommend it!

dasPaul is perfectly located to explore Old Town Nuremberg! We found the hotel clean and secure- especially with the virtual registration. The restaurant was conveniently located on the ground floor. Most of the Old Town attractions are a few minutes walk from the hotel in one direction and many nice stores for shopping a few steps in the opposite direction.

A great location and easy walking around the area. The rooms overlooking the river with balconies were fabulous! Note: you must be able to walk stairs.

The hotel was fantastic! It is conveniently located near Altstadt- we even had a view of the town from our terrace. We ended up parking in the more expensive parking garage, but it was super easy to get to the hotel from there. Breakfast was very tasty and the staff were super helpful. They provided great tips for sightseeing and clear instructions for the hotel. Check in was a breeze and i love the ability to enter the room/building with either a keycard or my phone. One little thing to note is the lack of an elevator, but that was only a minor hindrance. I put it in the review in case others might need an elevator to get around. We would definitely plan to stay here again for a future trip to Nuremberg!

Sophistication with comfort.

Great location, easy check in. Two minor things - really could do with an elevator. Also need an electric jug in room. Otherwise well appointed, very clean, modern and comfortable. Has a sophisticated vibe.

Poor check in

Arrived and it is clear enough that straight ahead is check in for hotel and to the right is the bar/restaurant When we arrived, we knew it would be self check in based on reviews however there was a sign on the hotel entrance saying self check in wasn’t working and to ask for assistance at the bar. We walked into the restaurant area asking for help, and was told to go back to check in and ring the bell. Did this several times, no answer, went back to restaurant, told again to keep ringing the bell, after ringing 20 times and feeling like an idiot I googled the number for the hotel to ask for help. They weren’t aware that the self check in wasn’t working and kept asking us to follow steps we’ve already tried. Eventually went to the bar again, this time a different person and they had the key to our room, they had been there the whole time but the other person previously just didn’t want to help. The room was good, view was lovely and location was great

I found the dasPaul Hotel on Expedia, and I read reviews of the hotel, but my experience far exceeded anything I read. The hotel is perfectly located in old Nuremberg, and it's charming and perfectly maintained. Every staff person I encountered was friendly, professional, and helpful. My room was absolutely wonderful, with a beautiful view of the river. I would go back to the dasPaul again, and I hope to visit Nuremberg again.

Modern spacious rooms in a good central location. Don’t worry about the lack of reception as the service you receive online and via what’s app is excellent

My family and I spent five nights at the DasPaul hotel and we had an amazing time. We really enjoyed both the hotel itself and its convenient location. The only drawback was the Wi-Fi connection. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Tolle in-Location

Tolles stylisches Hotel, klein aber es hat alles was man braucht. Sehr schön & praktisch eingerichtet. Das Frühstück ist der absolute Knaller: man kann sich aus der Karte ein "Menue" / Frühstücksteller aussuchen, sehr gutes Essen, grosszügige Portionenen das stylisch daherkommt, sehr nettes Personal. Es läuft alles digital ab, d.h. online Check-in via App, digitaler Zimmerschlüssel (das hat bei uns leider nicht geklappt, aber vor Ort konnte man anhand der Reservations-Nr. einen Zimmer-Schlüssel/Karte laden. (man muss technisch allerdings schon etwas versiert sein..). Das Restaurant ist sehr beliebt abends, was man im Zimmer hört wenn Gäste draussen auf der Terrasse sind. Aber sonst absolut zu empfehlen :-)

Beautiful place to stay

The hotel is very clean. The rooms are a nice size for 2 people and the balcony was an extra added bonus! There is no elevator so keep that in mind when packing! The location is perfect along the river. Beautiful views of the city and an easy walk to the train. The breakfast was delicious also!

Close walking distance to a lot of great things. Nice room with AC and a good restaurant downstairs.

I liked this hotel - it is well situated, the rooms are clean and modern (although a little small) and the attached kitchen was excellent and well priced. To improve, I think they could perhaps provide guests with a little more information (as there is no reception on site). We had to contact someone to get the WiFi password and it wasn’t clear that breakfast was included with our booking - we didn’t find out u til day 3!

This property is located on the canal, and is amazing. The one and only thing that slowed down this non-Techy gal was the touchless check-in. Lack of WIFI and time, I did not do the checking ahead online so I took a bit longer - BUT Christian came to my rescue and kindly got my keys and gave me directions. Then, once in the room was thrilled. Spacious two bedrooms, with a little kitchenette overlooking the River We had dinner out and came back to das Paul for a nightcap. The lounge specializes in pairing Gin (a large variety) with Tonic. A lovely stay! I highly recommend das Paul!!

When entering the property there is no person to check in with. You check in on a tablet. The person on the other end of the intercom was rude and didnt tell us what room to go to. Also there is no elevator and we had to walk up 5 flights of steps with luggage.

This Hotel is centrally located in the Pedestrian Zone. From here you can explore the entire city with ease, by foot or ground transportation. The underground train is only a few meters away. I love this hotel. You will fall in love with it only after one stay. Thank you Das Paul Management and Staff for everything

Absolutely amazing. You will never want to stay anywhere else in all of Germany, once you spend a night at Das Paul Nuremberg.

A very nice and modern hotel in the Old city center. Very good breakfast and great service.

No Elevator nor front desk. Not a typical hotel. But the person in charge helped us through WhatsApp to ensure we are satisfied with the stay. Room was very clean and good view. Overall it was very good.

I liked the cleanliness and the efficiency of the property. The staff was very good. My biggest complaint was the lack of an elevator.

Good location and very clean. All digital check in. You book breakfast at check in machine but when we went to the restaurant the next morning we were told we hadn’t booked a table. No idea where we were expected to eat breakfast! The owner/ manager was in the restaurant and around at the time of our departure but no greeting or questions about our stay. Rather impersonal.

The room we were given was fabulous, had the most wonderful view albeit to get there it was 5 flights of stairs as there is no lift!!! This really needs to be stated. Fortunately for us the two cleaning staff offered to carry 1 bag up the stairs. There is no reception, it is a self check in, which is not that big an issue except the address given is not where the check in is. They need to dust up on their communication regarding this.

There is no reception at this hotel. There is a machine at the entrance to the hotel where you have to figure out on your own....very impersonal...This property lacks an elevator! We had to go up 3 flights of stairs to get to our very very small room with a Very $$$$ tag. The restaurant area is very small. The two times we eat breakfast there we were hassled by the wait because we were suppose to make reservations for breakfast even thought we had paid in advance for breakfast. The quality of the breakfast was good. And overall it’s a clean hotel. On the plus side it is located inside the old town area.

When we arrived I was surprised to find no reception desk. That check in is totally self-serve is unclear in the hotel description. However, the room was lovely, modern, stylish, big, comfortable. There was even an iron. The location is also very good.

Wonderful apart-hotel located right in the Altstadt of Nürnberg. The recommended parking garage (Adlerstraße parkways) is less than a block walk (it is a cozy garage, even by German standards), and the automated check in was so easy to use. We stayed in the building next to the main building, it is a walk up, so if stairs are an issue, this may not be the hotel for you. We had two bedrooms, a kitchenette (burners, dishwasher, fridge and most importantly, coffee maker with plenty of pods) and bathroom. Clean and comfortable, with the most amazing view from the balcony of the castle at night.

Likes: This was a nice hotel in a great location with a very good restaurant down below. This overlooked the river and had a good view! Dislikes: This place is very hard to find on the GPS, there is no real access to the front door for loading/unloading and the parking garage is not very close or easy to find. We ended up parking on the street near the river bridge. Unique: It was an automated check in system with no staff on site.

Sort of airbnb!

Located in the center of the pedestrian only traffic restriction area, get prepared to carry your luggage for about 3 blocks. No front desk at all, you are welcomed by touch screen, no one to help with the luggage, no elevator, you have carry them to your assigned floor. The room is pretty small, and lack shelves in the bathroom and no place to hang the towels. In summer time you must close the window to cut the noise from the customers of the restaurant downstairs. The price of an hotel for the experience of a sort of airbnb. We moved to a full fledge hotel few blocks away, same price!

Large Apartment size room and a gourmet breakfast

At the heart of old town Nuremberg, it was within walking distance of many historical landmarks. The room was big and was like living in a small apartment with 3 bedrooms, a kitchen, and a balcony overlooking the river that runs through the town. The restaurant was amazing and the qualify of the breakfast that we got to order, was amazing. The food qualify was equivocal to paying $15.00 a plate and it came with our room. We were able to sit in their outside dining area overlooking the river. The qualify exceeded the price. We certainly got the better end of the deal. Thank you and we will certainly stay there again.

Sleek, modern 2 bedroom apartment steps away from several quaint bridges that you immediately to where you want to be. Great central location to everything. Parking in nearby garage with discount. Unexpected bonus was long balcony we enjoyed coffee in the morning, fun drinks at night all while enjoying the bells of surrounding churches. Incredible restaurant adjacent in the DasPaul.

Overall very good and Food excellent. slightly annoying noises in the morning from other guests is my only critism.

Nice hotel, or aparthotel, very centrally located, with a very decent restaurant overlooking the river. The eggs Benedict were great, and I liked the cook to order breakfast rather than a buffer. The metro is a 5 min walk. I would stay here again for sure.

Well situated in the centre of Nuremberg intra-muros. Clean. Food is very good and staff very helpful. Bathroom a bit small but OK.

Be careful if you cannot manage stairs

The position of the hotel is fantastic. In the middle of the city. The room was beautifully decorated and had free coffee and water. A tablet was supplied and wifi good. BUT. There is no reception. Electronic check in. So no one to advise and no luggage storage. The worst thing for me was the lack of lifts. All rooms require you to walk up stairs. Ours was 4th floor! And neither of us are able to walk up stairs with luggage. Fortunately bar man at the restaurant below the hotel called the owner, who kindly came and took the luggage upstairs for us, but we had to search for someone to take it downstairs when we left. The breakfast was amazing. Lots of choice and beautifully cooked. I would stay again if more able bodied. Both the owner and the person who helped with the luggage spoke perfect English and were charming.

Perfect location for Christmas markets visit

Clean, comfortable, newly redecorated room. Awesome views of the old town, river and the part of the Christmas market. The dasPaul restaurant downstairs has amazing food, is comfy to hang out in and has very friendly service. The hotel manager was awesome. He gave us a map and brochure about the Christmas markets which was invaluable, was friendly to chat with and helped us retrieve a lost item that would have ruined the trip if we didn't find it. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. My only caution is that there is no elevator. So if you can't do stairs, this might not be the place for you.

Located within old town centre, perfect for exploring the old town on foot. Just a bridge distance to the Christmas market, and 10 mins walk to the train station. Very clean and neat room, well equipped kitchen and comfy beds.

Gewollt aber leider nicht gekonnt

Ich mag digitale Check-In und digitale Schlüssel eigentlich nicht, dies hat aber wirklich sehr gut funktioniert! Zimmer und öffentliche Bereiche sind nur mittelmäßig sauber, vieles ist wirklich schon sehr abgewohnt. Wir hatten eine Rate mit Frühstück, als wir um 9:15 zu Frühstück kamen sagte man uns es gäbe keinen Platz, dies sei unsere Schuld - wir hätten ja nicht reserviert und da es nur bis 10 Frühstück gäbe bekämen wir auch nichts mehr - unser Pech. Dies wurde in keiner der vielen emails kommuniziert und ist absolut inakzeptabel. Der Kellner war sehr freundlich und bemühte sich sehr um eine Lösung, der Herr an der Bar war einfach nur peinlich unhöflich und unrational.

Die Kritik richtet sich eigentlich gegen "Hotels.com": In der Hotelbeschreibung fehlt völlig: 1. Hotel liegt in der Fußgängerzone und kann auch nicht zum Koffer-Entladen angefahren werden. Man muss in irgendwelchen, z.T. mehrere 100 m entfernten Parkhäuser parken und mit dem Koffer durch die Stadt gurken. 2. Nicht erwähnt wird, dass das Hotel über keinen Lift verfügt. Man muss also - wie wir - seinen Koffer über drei Treppen in die 3. Etage schleppen. 3. Auch der Check-In (rein elektronisch bzw. vorher online) hat uns nicht gefllen.

The hotel room is really small also the bathroom, so you have to be ok with that. If you are of larger size, we can't recommend to stay there. Location is really good just in the middle of the city and the check-in was easy done by one self.
