Great room, breakfast and hospitality

The concept of the breakfast gave us a bitter sweet feeling due to the fact that we have to not only cook for yourself but you also have to wash your own dishes which is not something we want to be doing on our vacation, a place of relaxation and a break from reality. The hotel was located in a perfect spot and was a walking distance to many touristic locations and restaurants. The whole room was very nice and we loved it. There is also an elevator that can take you up to your room so you don’t have to take the stairs after walking all day. The staff at the front desk were very helpful.

So many food options very close to the hotel. Hotel staff VERY helpful with regard to information on where to eat, what to do, etc., especially Tanja! She went ahead and made us a dinner reservation and also told us about the beach options.

Perfectly located in the centre of town, had its own little kitchen stocked with food and fresh bread delivered to our door every morning. Just fantastic.

WOW!! This boutique hotel was amazing. Great and friendly staff, special shout out to Pedro and Tomas who were very helpful and recommended great eateries and things to do. We had a studio room with a kitchenette. Room is equipped with great amenities including fresh fruit, yogurt, milk, butter, coffee maker AND fresh bread and pastries delivered every morning. Room has a juicer to make fresh orange juice every morning with the oranges provided. Room was very spacious and super clean. You can also get complimentary coffee at the reception area. Close to santa justa lift. Close to shopping and attractions. Restaurants and bakeries steps away.

Lovely hotel in the heart of Baixa

We spent 5 days at Dare Lisbon and loved it. It's so nice to have a separate sitting area to enjoy an afternoon snack without having to sit on your bed like in a regular hotel room. The staff are so accommodating and the area couldnt be better.

Loved the breakfast, opening my door in the morning to collect a cloth bag with fresh pastries and a baguette. Free wine in the reception area if you wanted a glass in the evening

A extremely nice stay

First trip to Lisbon. The hotel is located on a narrow street, approximately halfway between Praca do Rossio and Praca do Comércio, so the location is both quiet and in the middle of shops and restaurants. The room was very nice and the staff was incredibly helpful in explaining the best ways to get around the city.

The only place in Lisbon where the service was top notch and we didn’t feel that we were scammed. The staff is very friendly and our host (Pedro) was very welcoming and went beyond to serve us. I appreciate customer centric practice of the hotel such as free drinks (wine, tea or coffee) served at the bar, walk through and recommendations of places - restaurant, city culture etc. Only quirk was that you have to make your own breakfast and the hotel would provide you with fresh breads, fruits, etc daily to make it. There are some city restriction on why they cannot have a functioning kitchen and thus self made/ self serve breakfast is provided instead. We didn’t mind it, although it would be nice if the breakfast was served. Standard amenities and the apartment was spacious, clean and had ample light (we stayed in apt 33 , which is a corner apartment and have windows on two sides). I would recommend this hotel for your stay in Lisbon

A lovely boutique hotel ideally placed in Baixa. Close to the Baixa/ Chiado Metro station, walkable to many sights (remember the elevators to get up toward the castle). Staff we're super helpful. We linked making breakfast in our room with fresh eggs and fruit delivered daily and bakery items in the door every morning. And then there's the elevator in the building...

Amazing stay at this boutique hotel in the heart of Lisboa. Wonderful staff, location and comfort to finish our stay in Portugal.

The property was very clean and well kept. It was also within walking distance of the train station and other interesting places.

Small, quaint property

LOVE DARE LISBON!

What a gem of a place! Location couldn't be more in the heart of it all, yet rooms were quiet. We absolutely loved it. The lobby is super cool as they retained original elements of the building but modernized it too. The room was fab, well-stocked with supplies for breakfast plus a lovely delivery of baked goods in the morning to each room. The staff however was the best of all - A SPECIAL PLACE for sure.

They provide fresh fruit, milk, and every morning they put bread and pastries by your door. They also provide eggs and all the utensils and pans you would need to cook. Bar provides included wine, coffee, and tea.

Hotel is in old town and is the best location in Lisbon. It is convenient for shopping, dining and walking. This hotel was built in 1792 and has rich history. Hotel staff are really nice and helpful. I will stay in Dare again next time.

We spent the last part of our honeymoon in Lisbon! Dare was the best hotel we could have chosen for our experience! I wouldn’t even call it a hotel, it felt like home!

The staff at this location were amazing. We would defiantly stay again at this location when we return to Lisbon, Portugal. The location was perfect for us to get around. We stayed at this hotel because it has 24 hour staff on site which made it easy for us to check in late. We also has a kitchen to make our own breakfast and coffee before we ventured out on the town. We loved talking to Tanya the front desk staff person. She made time for all the customers who had questions.

The Dare Lisbon was fantastic! The staff were so kind to us and all of the amenities were amazing including the daily fresh food drop offs. They even left us surprises on our birthdays with beautiful notes. We loved our time here and will certainly be back! Thank you so much to the team at Dare Lisbon for a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

We really liked Dare's "do-it-yourself" breakfast policy - they provided eggs, milk, fruit, etc. when the room was made up, and also delivered fresh bread every morning. I can understand that some people might not like this kind of arrangement, but it worked very well for us. Dare is in a very walkable area and is close to public transportation. It is also right next to a well-regarded shopping street. Overall, our experience was excellent, and we heartily give Dare our highest recommendation.

Lovely hotel ! Unfortunately, we were delayed in our arrival due to a countrywide power outage, but hotel staff were very accommodating! Filipa and staff were a delight!

This hotel is amazing! Walking distance within shopping, dining, and sights. The hotel staff was VERY helpful with helping us purchase bus tickets when we found out there was a train strike. They also helped with transportation. Breakfast was delicious and the room was always topped off with water when we got back for the day. 10/10 and if I ever visit the area I will def stay here again.

This hotel has an excellent location in the center of Lisbon. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. My wife and I enjoyed a few glasses of local wine in their lobby bar area, which I expected to see on my bill, but turned out they were on the house, a pleasant surprise. The room had a small kitchen area where they expect you to have breakfast ( there is no communal dining area ). This had a small round table, maybe 2' in diameter. Really it was too cramped for 2 to prepare and eat breakfast. The bathroom was rather on the small side too, with a narrow shelf for all your stuff. Maybe all this is ok and typical by european standards, but we would have liked to spread out more. Certainly fine for 1 person. It's in a pleasantly restored old building with a lot of character. Huge variety of restaurants around, and a few minutes walk to the river.

The location was excellent, the fresh daily break and fruits, the wine, the uniqueness of the rooms. A few insignificant things were the limited hot water (at 10 minutes per shower), the safe isn’t attached to the wall and it didn’t work, the in room phone didn’t work, but otherwise, no complaints. Would definitely return and recommend.

The staff is excellent; the accommodation, comfortable; the extras, gracious.

Tânia was excellent. Her recommendations for excursions and dining were super. Great just chatting about Portugal and the area. Pedro offered good advice and check in was easy. He spent time helping us get our international calling sorted out. It was nice having a small apartment in the city.

Very friendly and hospitable staff. Always greeted warmly, provided great recommendations. We needed some medical help at night, the front desk agent was very helpful and connected us to a doctor promptly. Waking up to a fresh loaf of local bread and pastries was a delight. The hotel is very walkable to local restaurants and attractions. The rooms are well appointed, although can be a little cozy for those from across the pond.

We had awesome experience at Dare Lisbon. The hotel decor is top notch. My wife and I were a little taken aback by many posted signed and instructions.

The hotel is in a great location close to shops, restaurants and local attractions. I really enjoy having a kitchen where I can make a cup of tea or chose to make a light meal. The kitchen is well stocked, it has everything you need. The bedroom is a nice size, the bed wand pillows were extremely comfortable. Liked the fact that it had several windows making the place nice and bright. The air conditioning worked very well, it cooled the apartment nicely. We also received a welcome gift which was unexpected and a pleasant surprise. In the lobby they offer tea, coffee and a glass of wine which is a nice perk. Everyone is very nice, they help with the luggage and give wonderful restaurant recommendations. When in Lisbon I would never think of staying anywhere else. I would strongly recommend this hotel.

The Dare Lisbon house was amazing from start to finish. Once the reservation is made they get in touch to see if there is anything they can do to help make the stay great...from dietary restriction needs to adjust the breakfast, to ideas on what to do in Lisbon! The staff were super friendly! We really enjoyed our daily talks with Pedro, who was a wealth of knowlege and was so helpful. The room was fantastic and it was wonderful having a delicious breakfast delivered to the room daily! The location of the hotel is within walking distance to so many places and is easy to get to many places in Lisbon from the hotel. Have only awesome things to say about our stay here! Would definately stay here again!

Friendly staff and great location to see all of Lisbon. Rooms were a good size and a bonus to have the kitchenette facilities in the rooms. Daily delivery of bakery goods for breakfast, to support what was already provided in room, was really nice and meant that you could ease into the day without the rush to a timed breakfast service. It was an ideal base for us to explore the city.

Our second stay (stayed in 2019). Eight nights. Loved this hotel just as much the second time around. Fantastic staff - knowledgeable and great restaurant recommendations (Sacramento and O Chiado). We love the way breakfast is provided - although it might not suit everyone. Eggs, yogurt, fruit, oranges (for juice), cereal put in your refrigerator and fresh pastry delivered in the morning. Make your own breakfast at your own pace. Excellent location close to everything. Quiet. Hope to return again someday.

Perfect hotel in a great location

Staff at Dare Lisbon House are excellent. Very friendly and helpful. Our room was lovely and kitchen was perfectly stocked. As we were leaving early on our last day we were able to get our breakfast pastries the night before. Amazing customer service.

My favorite hotel for this whole trip. Great location, wonderful staff (especially the gent that checked us in and told us about the area), very comfortable accommodations. Would definitely stay there again!!

Every employee at this property was extremely hospitable and made my stay there one to remember. The only complaint I have is the noise from the first floor directly came into my room.

This place was amazing from the service to the location!

Very nice and practical hotel. Well kept, friendly staff. It was low season in Lisbon and a mid-week stay, so it was quiet. But unlike what is mentioned in other reviews, you hear the outside noise quite a bit. Overall a very good choice to stay in Lisbon.

Great stay at Dare.

Absolutely loved our stay at Dare Lisbon House apartment. Everything was clean, comfortable and right in the heart of the Baixa area. Metro Baixa/Chiado station is two short blocks away. Every morning we had fresh bread and pastries delivered by the staff. Thanks to the staff for recognizing y wife's birthday and sending a special treat. She loved it.

Brilliant location, very central and can walk to loads of places. Staff were lovely & very helpful. The apartment was lovely, loads of room. Really good idea how they have arranged breakfast so you have it in your room whenever you want, yes, you have to make it yourself, but you have everything you need & all the facilities, not a problem at all for us. Lovely city, Will definitely be recommending Dare Hotel & Lisbon. We went to a Fado evening which the hotel recommended. You got a meal & the music by amazing singers included,you will definitely need to book as very popular, ask at reception, it's a must do!!

Booked the Dare Lisbon hotel for a six day break in the city and very impressed. The hotel is right in the heart of the city with trams, funiculars, metro and train station in very close proximity. The room is more like an apartment then a hotel room which gives your more space as well as a kitchen area. The bed is very comfy and plenty of clothes storage. The bathroom is open view so make sure you don’t have any privacy issues with whoever you’re sharing with. The breakfast is included and fresh breads and pastries are delivered to your room daily with butter, jams, yogurts and fruits replenished in the room daily. The team are very welcoming and able to advise on trips and place to visit as well as restaurants to try. If you want to be at the heart of the city then this is the place for you. Very impressed so would have no hesitation in booking again.

This was our 2nd stay with Dare Lisbon House. What makes the property stand out is the friendly, helpful staff; the central location; fresh DIY breakfast supplies; lovely full size toiletries in the bathroom; complimentary wine/coffee in the lobby; and feeling at home. Easy walk to Rossio Square, Avenida Liberdade, Commercial Square, and the Time Out Market. We’ve recommended Dare to many and those who stayed there love it as much as we do.

We really enjoyed our 5 day stay at Dare Lisbon house. The room was really comfortable. It was wonderful to have fresh pastries and bread every morning and it was nice to have breakfast everyday in the comfort of our own room. There is complimentary wine in the lobby. We had a small balcony that looked out onto the street which was beautiful at night. Easy to walk everywhere or catch public transportation or Bolt for longer trips. The staff was friendly and helpful. I'm sure we would stay there again.

Rooms a little small but other then that great stay

This is the first time we stayed at an aparthotel and it exceeded our expectations. Everyone was so nice and accommodating. The rooms were a nice size. The kitchen was fully equipped. The fridge was large enough for our needs. The bed was comfortable, I also like the fact that they had a soft pillow and a harder pillow. The hotel is in an excellent location. It is close to numerous restaurants, walking distance to all the sites and shops. I would definitely recommend staying at Dare House Lisbon, I know that this will not be my last stay.

This hotel is unique and lovely. The staff are kind, efficient, and welcoming. The room was large, and the bed comfortable. There are free drinks at the inside bar. The room had a kitchen, and the staff stocked it with eggs, milk, and a few other things. Each day, they hang a bag of pastry and bread on the door. You can use all of the above to cook your own breakfast. We had a lovely stay and would return.

Dare Lisbon is the best!

Loved this hotel! In an historic building and neighborhood, which is located by lots of shops, restaurants and bakeries. The bed was so comfortable, can cook breakfast in the morning, and they deliver fresh bakery in the AM,s. Tawnya was fantastic, gave us tips on places to see. We would stay here again.

It is a lovely small hotel but location is very good! Staff are friendly and easy to communicate with. There is no breakfast but the bread would be serviced daily with some other food, such as, fruits, yogurt, eggs and milk.

The property and the staff were awesome. It is in a great location and close to everything.

We had amazing stay at Dare Lisbon House. It was perfect balance of being at hotel and still being provided kitchen and supplies to do things your way if you wanted to. Not just professional but genuinely humane and kind Tanya, Pedro and then Thomas and Filipa made our stay delightful. It was our ritual to get advice from Tanya in the AM to head out for attractions and come back late PM to have custom latte made by Pedro while chatting with him about what we did during the day and what to do the next day while talking about our home countries. They are genuinely kind like all Portuguese people we met right from the airport even the officers were friendlier than our home countries ;) They gave us fresh supplies to make breakfast ourselves to our liking and we looked forward to fresh and surprise baked goods pleasantly left at our door handle in a fabric. The room was very cozy yet soaring ceiling and pleasant furniture and doors and knobs and modern appliances. The only part it didn’t add to our happiness initially was the note this is not a palace and you(we) are not prince or princess to expect all mess could be cleaned in blink of an eye but that almost happened every day when we left to come back to a clean unit and freshly stocked fridge so perhaps we are from royal descent after all ! remember the city is paved mostly by cobble stones so wear accordingly/ luggage wheel. Bring also sleeper. Bring European power adapter and extension perhaps. 5 days passed so fast!

What I liked about property: Staff was beyond kind and helpful. Location made it super easy to get out to eat and explore., Breakfast concept was great. Wished more hotels used this system. You are provided fruit, cereals, eggs, yogurt, daily fresh bread laof and a pastry.

Conveniently located property in the Baixa area of Lisbon. Near many restaurants and shopping. It’s also fairly close to the Praca do Comercio which is a lively place to visit. Dare Lisbon House staff was super friendly and hospitable. Would definitely recommend this spot to friends and family.

Very charming, centrally located, and spotless hotel. Loved the 'do it yourself' breakfast set up, made it feel like I was living in the heart of Lisbon instead of just visiting. Friendly and welcoming staff, and easy walking distance to many good areas, restaurants, bars, etc.

We love Dare Lisbon House from the moment we got in till our last day of stay . The service is excellent . A welcome wine wow that was exceptional. The room with balcony that was superb , the bread by the door every morning, the wine on the table they stock it every time it finished for free ... its a unique experience on top of the its accessibility to the tourist spots . We thank Jorge who was assisting me and my husband to reserved a birthday dinner to a beautiful restaurant plus a surprise birthday freebees .i would give Dare Lisbon a 10 . We will definitely come back .

The fresh bread and pastries left on your door handle every morning is very nice. We also liked how they bring fresh eggs and milk, fruit every day so you can cook breakfast in your room.

Stay Here in Lisboa!

Wonderful place to stay such a cool space and felt very welcomed as soon as the Uber dropped us off. Would stay there again in a heartbeat!

The hotel was perfect. Great location near shops, food and public transportation. It was a great little apartment style and they deliver fresh fruit, bread and pastries to your door daily.

This is beautiful little gem of a hotel. Everything about the hotel synched up perfectly with our needs. Lastly, the staff was incredibly efficient, kind and well informed. The staff answered all our questions re: sites to see, local restaurants, arranging transportation to the airport and the end of our trip and more. It all made for a wonderful stay.

Dare Lisbon House was one of the favorite hotels we have stayed. The style of the hotel is wonderful. The staff was absolutely amazing (George and Pedro went above and beyond on recommendation, making you feel at home, and keeping your glass full) Happy hour each night, was a great way to connect with others staying at the property and learn more about Lisbon, experiences and things to do. We stayed in a one bedroom suite. Loved the stocked fridge, fresh bread delivered to your door each morning. We would definitely recommend staying here. Oh and location of the property is wonderful and easy to get around the city (close to subways, trains and other transport)

Excellent location. Free glass of wine, breakfast and fruit were nice touches. Gf bread not edible especially with no toaster but that’s ok. Also the room is quite bright from street lights in the nighttime.

Everything was REALLY wonderful! Location, charm, cleanliness, staff friendliness and helpfulness, everything included in the apartment we would ever need plus a refrigerator stocked for a great breakfast. Fresh and warm pastries delivered in the morning and an electric juicer for fresh OJ. Everything is so well appointed, beautiful and fun. We will definitely be back. It will be our go to in Lisbon.

A fantastic stay

From our first welcome to the last farewell we were treated to the Dare Lisbon House unique brand of hospitality. The check in experience was superb and informative regarding local attractions (and a complimentary glass of wine), the room was luxurious incorporating a well stocked kitchen diner area and the location is absolutely perfect to explore all that Lisbon has to offer. Genuinely could not recommend this hotel enough, and the next time we are in Lisbon we will be very very disappointed if there is no availability as this would undoubtably be our number one choice.

Tania and her entire team were extremely helpful with anything we needed .. dinner reservations, taxis, directions, suggestions .. and everyone was fun and friendly. The hotel is in a perfect location to access the historic areas of Lisbon and lots of good restaurants.

Great location, great staff

Ideally located in the Baixa area -- could walk to everything. Incredibly helpful staff, offering all kinds of suggestions and making reservations. Each unit has a kitchen and is stocked with breakfast supplies (milk, yogurt, eggs, butter, jam, fruit), with fresh bread and a pastry delivered each morning -- it worked quite well. And the staff were more than happy to offer a glass of wine any time.
