Nice sweet small place to stay in old town.

Very nice Riad. These homes turned into hotels are very quaint. For US customers, you can think of them almost like a B&B. The rooms lacked a desk or chair. Shower did not drain, but these are very old homes. Breakfast was same daily, simple but very decent. The layout of the place was wonderful. It was a great sanctuary from the craziness of the old town and hard to believe you were in the middle of town.

Dar Charkia is a lovely and charming riad. The staff make you feel at home and the location is perfect to explore into the Medina. Good wifi, good breakfast, great aesthetic also for what its worth lol - highly recommend it

I loved staying in a Riad. Dar Charkia Riad was nice. The staff were amazing and helpful. The breakfast was awesome especially the fresh squeezed orange juice. The only thing I didn't like was that I booked this particular room because it had a TV ( so my elderly mom could have something to watch when she was alone) snd the TV was nit working, I asked the male staff for help but he said its been so long they never fixed it. Thats my only dislike, but I would definitely recommend because it was central to everything and it was a 15 minute walk to the old Medina square.

beautiful riad

Very beautiful riad hidden in the old Medina. The hosts were very welcoming and made sure our staying was as comfortable as possible. The rooms were spacious and clean. On our departure day we had to leave around 6.45am to take a tour and the hosts volunteered to make breakfast for us at 6am in the morning. We really appreciated the hospitality we experienced there.

Okay with room for improvement

The staff were hospitable and helpful. We arrived to a lovely tea and cookies and Hassan gave us a map and gave us good explanation on some of the main attractions. Unfortunately, our room was disappointing. Upon entering, there were two floor cushions that were very dirty with visible. The rug was dirty and the towels looked dingy. There was nowhere to put suitcases except the floor. The shower didn’t drain, so after five minutes, you had water up to your ankles.

Pleasant staying

We had a pleasant staying in the Riad and the room is spacious and beautiful. If the breakfast offered more choices would be even better.

A little gem

We had a wonderful stay in this tranquil place set in the heart of Marrakesh. Samira and her team made the whole experience so easy, and couldn’t do enough for us! The room we were in was ideal, and opened up onto the central courtyard which was just great! We can not fault any part of our stay, and would recommend this Riad to anyone

The aesthetics of the Riad look beautiful, but sadly it was all lost due to incompetent management and communication. We lost a nights sleep and spent a day back and forth trying to resolve the issue with the house 'manager' trying to contact the owner. Given the numerous available Raids in Marrakesh, you are better off finding one that can resolve an issue when it arises.

Do not hesitate to book this Dar. It is stunningly beautiful, clean and provides the most welcome respite from the intensity of Marrakech. The staff are very friendly, accomodating and do their utmost to assist. The Dar is also very well located - it is in walking distance of the main square and Le Hardin Secret. It is also located close to a palace which means the area is well patrolled. I stayed here with a female friend and we both felt safe and secure. Would 100% recommend and would definitely stay again!

Absolutely brilliant hotel, definitely recommend!

I cannot fault the riad. Our stay was absolutely amazing and all of the staff were so helpful and friendly. Particularly Rachid (Rashid?) who was very attentive and courteous. The room was lovely (we stayed in the twin bed Berber suite) and the central courtyard was so peaceful and relaxing. The breakfast was a good selection and good portion sizes, served whenever you were ready. The instructions sent to me after I booked the hotel were detailed and gave great tips for the area and also how to find the riad. We arranged airport transfers which were easy and convenient. Rachid came to meet us from our drop off which made it lots easier to find. The riad had excellent wifi and a bar service, including alcohol. It was well-located as it didn't take long to walk to the Koutoubia mosque and central square. It was even closer to souks which you could walk right into. It felt safe enough - it doesn't matter where you are in the city, you need to keep your wits about you. We were two unaccompanied females, and felt totally safe in the riad. We encountered a problem with our pre-booked trip and the riad staff were so helpful in trying to sort it for us, allowing us to use their phone to call the local company and tried to sort another trip out to replace the one that went wrong (we didn't need it in the end). Absolutely brilliant and would recommend it to anyone.

Lovely place

It was excellent. Really helpful, nice staff. Lovely, quiet, clean, stylish, small, romantic hotel with only 6 rooms. No TV. Good WIFI.

2 women touring Morocco

Place was lovely, well decorated and very quiet at night. Breakfast was delicious and staff super friendly. Place was clean and you could tell that the owners really took good care of the place. 15 min walk to the Jemma al Fna. Hotel signage from the drop off point would be helpful.

Our stay at Dar Charkia was perfect. Rasheed was really kind and helpful to us during our time in Marrackech. The place is quaint and makes for a lovely time in an otherwise bustling city.

Great location, excellent, attentive staff

We had a great stay at Dar Charkia. The staff was amazing and it truly was an oasis from the chaos of the city. The breakfast was amazing too. We dined one night for dinner, the meal was really good but a bit on the pricey side. The only downside to our stay was that the shower in the bathroom had limited hot water so you had to take quick showers and it was hard to contain the water from reaching the bathroom floor which always left it wet. We often put our towels down to soak up the water and then found them hanging again so not sure if they were laundered. Aside from that, a great stay.

Awesome location!

Great experience! On arrival we were greeted with delicious virgin lychee mojitos with ice made from mineral water. Staff was very courteous and helpful, especially when I was not feeling well. Everything was sparkling clean including the awesome waterfall shower. My only complaints is that the AC in our room didn't work super well and the wifi was pretty poor. We stayed at two different riads while we were in Marrakesh and this one was superior by far!

Good location, quiet, relaxing, and great staff!

A quiet environment that makes you feel relaxed once stepping into the riad, away from the hustle and bustle of the streets of Medina. And not to mention the great breakfast they serve.

Staff, breakfast excellent but in need of TLC

The stay was very good with excellent staff especially Sammi and Rashid and wonderful breakfasts which changed daily. The Riad was cold because of the time of year, but the convector heater was governed and the air conditioning heat kept switching off so our room remained very cold. The terrace was beautiful and the patio was furnished and decorated in local style. Our room floor and bathroom floor was in need of attention. Our overall impression of the Riad was good but Dar Charkia appears a little tired in need of some TLC. Great location for restaurants and the souks

Very nice hotel

I highly recommend this Riad. The decor is fabulous. They welcome you with home made cookies and tea. It is very well located as well. I would definitely go back.

My husband and I stayed here for a few nights and loved it. Friendly, helpful staff. Excellent food. Good location. It was a charming and very comfortable place to stay.

Great Riad with a great staff!

Although it was a little confusing to find at first, once we made it we were welcomed by the staff and right away were served some breakfast which was a nice treat after taking the overnight train from tangier. The staff took a lot of time to help us map out all of the attractions and offered tips on how to stay safe when navigating the souks. The rooms were very clean and we felt very safe.

Fabulous and perfect! Wonderful location

Fabulous Riad...wonderful location....walking distance to sites and great restaurants. Beautifully decorated Riad, and amazing staff. Staying here made our trip to Marrakech a very magical experience.

Beautiful Place to stay in Marrakech!

Dar Charkia is a work of art in the old city, easily accessible from one of the main gates. The owners and staff are so helpful even before we arrived we received emails with instructions on arrival by train or plane, restaurant suggestions and more. The Dar (house) itself is exquisite both in its traditional design and the way it has been lovingly and tastefully decorated. Gorgeous with a rooftop terrace and a cooling inner courtyard. Loved it.

Perfect stay in Marrakech

Would highly recommend this beautiful riad. We stayed there for 4 nights and we were really happy with all aspects. The room was lovely as was the courtyard and rooftop. Everything was beautifully decorated. Bathroom and bedroom very clean. The staff were amazing and looked after us so well - making us mint tea whenever we wanted and providing lots of useful information about Marrakech. Breakfast was fresh and delicious. They also organised our transfers to and from the airport which was very convenient. The location is also perfect, safe and quiet area but also 2 min walk to the souks and 15 min walk to Jamaa El Fna. Would definitely come here again!

A Lovely Place to Stay!

We recently stayed at Dar Charkia the final two days of our two-week excursion of Morocco. Having booked a luxury private tour, we stayed at many lovely riads throughout our trip; however, Dar Charkia was by far the best. It is immaculately clean. The décor is charming: the public spaces and our room, Saada, are beautifully decorated with Moroccan furnishings and fabrics, and with an eye toward comfort. The bathroom is large, with his and her sinks, bathrobes, slippers, and soaps. When we arrived, it was also strewn with rose petals, a very romantic touch. The staff is lovely (particularly Samira): nothing is too much to ask of them. They provided excellent directions, delicious food, wonderful conversation, and were even so kind as to iron my husband’s wrinkled shirts so he would be presentable for dinner! Dar Charkia is well located in the medina, so all the sites of Marrakech are within a 10-minute walk.

Ble tatt fantastisk godt i mot av betjeningen på Hotellet. Hotellet ligge svært sentralt til. 15 min. å gå til Jemaa el-Fnaa. Etter reservasjon sender hotellet spørsmål om vi ønska transfer fra flyplass til hotel. Dette er absolutt å anbefale. Betjeningen møter dere der ca. 100m fra hotellet og følger dere frem. Det er ingen mulighet for parkering. Hadde følelse av å bli tatt i mot som gjester i et privat hjem. Kan anbefales på det varmeste

Wir hatten ausserordentliches Glück, dass Michael, der Besitzer vor Ort war. Er ist sehr nett und hilfsbereit und konnte uns viele Tipps über Marrakech geben. Das Zimmer war luxuriös und sauber. Auf Wunsch gab es Minztee und Kekse. Es ist eine Oase der Ruhe im belebten Marrakesch. Alles war perfekt. Jeder Zeit wieder. Danke an Michael und sein Personal :D

宿泊の予約をすると、リヤドからたくさんの情報が載ったメールが届きます。宿に着いてからもフナ広場への良い行き方や、食事処について教えてくれます。旧市街について知りたいことは大体教えてもらいました。

とても可愛いリヤドです。 オーナーのセンスが抜群です！ ただ、滞在が1泊だったからかオーナーには会えませんでした。マラケシュのオススメのお店の話を聞きたかったです。 またマラケシュに行く際は泊まりたいです。 朝食のフレンチトーストがとても美味しかった。

Mickaël le maitre des lieux nous a bien présenté ce qu'il y avait a voir, ce qu'il fallait éviter nous a donné une carte de Marrakech, nous a conseiller de bon restaurant a tous les prix. Le Riad bien que dans la Médina est au calme (réveillé par les petits oiseaux), le personnel est accueillant souriant extrêmement compétent. Un petit déjeuner copieux.Bref rien a dire sinon ALLEZ Y
