Location, location, location.
Great location for the Medina attractions. You need to like cats Difficult to navigate to on the first attempt. Call for escort. You need to order dinner early on the morning of or it is not possible There are times when the staff only speaks French.
Beautiful riad with extremely friendly and accommodating staff. The location is overall great and pretty close to everything, but the immediate surroundings of the riad are a little bit rough, which we learned is common for most riads on this city. Still tremendously fun and highly recommended.
The riad inside is lovable, the manager is very courteous and helpful. The surrounding is not so good.
Glowing Review!!!
We have the best experience at Dar Chadia! I have never experienced this kind of hospitality before and we are world travelers! Coralia and Said were amazing and guided us very well. A truly at home experience. While I traveled with my grown children, there was another family with little kids and this place is for everyone! They helped us with maps, ideas, shuttle bookings, hammam recommendations, luggage transfers, and Said even dropped us at 6 am to the front of the gate! We are very grateful and hope to come back again in 2024! Thank you team Dar Chadia! We loved at our stay at your beautiful Riad. ** CLOSE PROXIMITY to everything within the Medina! Stay here!!
We had great experience of staying at Dar Chadia for one night. Hosts are very organized and took care of us well. They conveniently arranged for Taxi (with additional price) when we contacted them for transportation for from/to airport. This hotel location is 5-6 min walk from Taxi stand. But owners/staff received and guided us well. Very convenient and walkable distance to Medina square area. We enjoyed walking through narrow alleys even though some parts are not very neat. They made delicious breakfast with mint tea in the morning. Very pleased with the experience and would recommend it for others
Excellent riad in great location
I stayed three nights as a solo traveler, and this is an excellent choice near the main square and palaces. Besides the prime location, Said is an extremely welcoming manager and host, ready to help with any request for reservations. Highly recommend
Fanstastic Stay in Marrakech
What a wonderful Riad. Clean , comfortable and very welcoming. We felt very welcomed and taken care of.
A hidden amazing gem in the heart of the old city. Said is an excellent host.
Great Stay!
Great stay - lovely French couple manages this wonderful riad. Felt just like home! Minutes away from major attractions such as Jamaa Al Fina and Bahia Palace. Great restaurants and shopping nearby.
Fantastic Experience
Best hospitality ever!! When we booked our hotel, they sent us an email to arrange airport pickup. It was past midnight when we landed. When we got to the hotel, the host greeted us outside and walked us to the location so we wouldn't get lost. All the pathways are like mazes in Marrakesh. The room was clean and have AC. The people there were so friendly and helpful. They will help arrange for any activites you wish to do. I highly recommend this hotel and will definitely stay here again in the future.
It was very quiet. No street noise. Saied (?sp), the manager was wonderful and extremely helpful. The shower worked great (which is sometimes a challenge in Morocco, we found). It was tucked into a back street with some dark alleys, which would have been a little scary in other places, but we felt quite safe in Morocco/Marrakech. One sees women walking alone in the dark alleys all the time, so me and my daughter felt quite safe walking together. We did have to ask for a second set of towels, but that really wasn't that big a deal. The breakfast was very good with ample coffee.
Great stay!
Great little place to stay in Marrakech. The hosts and everyone working there was friendly and helpful. We felt comfortable walking around in the evenings. They helped us to arrange tours, trains and taxis. Room was comfortable and clean, and good breakfast. If I ever return to Marrakech I would definitely stay here again.
Nice Riad, Arrogant and Rude French owners.Avoid.
Appalling behaviour by French couple who own this Riad. I arrived at 10pm at Dar Chadia to be confronted by the French owners (and her brother) that they would not accept my Hotel.com booking, but instead wanted 50EUR cash. They knew at this time that I could not refuse. From the start, the French female proprietors attitude was hostile, with her preference clearly for elder French couples. My friend's flight had been delayed and she said that they would not be allowed to stay, so I had to offer to open the door. I admit that this was an inconvenience for them, to which I was sorry, but their approach was really sour. When my friend arrived, he overheard the French lady say "50EUR is not enough money for this inconvenience" under her breath. The atmosphere from her, her sister-in-law and her brother in the morning was so toxic and uncomfortable. Her husband slightly more pleasant. We felt utterly uncomfortable, as though impeding in their home. We felt a little more relaxed when they finally left. The Moroccan doing breakfasts was by contrast much friendlier, and represented his own country's hospitality much better. Breakfast was underwhelming and squeezed onto a tiny table, the toiletries were poor quality. The riad is appealing decorated and elegant, but we felt utterly uncomfortable from the French female owner and hope she manages to improve her attitude, and have a bit more empathy, towards guests in the future.... or get out of the hospitality industry.
Younes’ hospitality was truly amazing and he ensured I had an amazing trip! The breakfasts were wonderful.
It was my second visit after Covid-19 Morocco is slowly opened up again. Younes is much more than a manager, he gives valuable advice, what to do and better not to do and helps you whenever you need it Latifa make the most delicious breakfast, and both make you feel welcome and at home any time
This is a beautiful riad that felt like a peaceful oasis is the heart of the chaotic Médina!
We were blown away with the service and we were so impressed with the kindness and effort that was put in by our Chadia family to make our trip so special. We felt like part of the family by the end and already miss our new friends Marijke, Younes, and Latifa. We loved our trip to Marrakech, the Riad was beautiful, the city was beautiful and the people were so kind and friendly.
Central but quiet riad with lovely rooms and manager.
I cannot rate this Riad highly enough. Do take advantage of the transfer as finding it through the maze of alleys would not be easy alone. The place is beautifully restored, comfortable and has a fabulous roof terrace. Breakfast is substantial and kept us full til mid afternoon. The thing that differentiates this riad from all the others are the people. Younes really does look after you, from taking you on your first walk to the square so you dont get lost, getting a sim card,Showing where the atms are and all sorts of other hints and tips,he even made me a spiced drink to help my chesty cough. We also spent many hours chatting to the lovely owner about life marrakech and restoring the Riad. If and when we return we can only ever come here.
Great Host
Great host and a very nice and clean place. Younes has been very helpful throughout our stay. The Riad is very close to many tourist attractions, which was very useful. The Maraike, the owner, is also a lovely lady. Good atmosphere overall and nothing negative to point out.
The ever amazing Dar Chadia
Exceptional. Thank you Younes, Marieke and Latifa for an amazing Moroccan hospitality. From the start to our departure back home. Clean and beautifully decorated spacious room, value for money for within our price bracket, perfect location to start exploring the city but creme de la creme is definitely the hospitality. Younes and the team, you have outperform yourselves by showing us your gracious, honest and the best service that we as a guest would want from our holiday. Syukran and wishing all the best for all of you. Mohd Helme bin Jaafar and Simon Denoth
The manager was very friendly and ensured that we were well informed during our entire stay. He went out of his was make our stay special. The Ryad was beautiful, clean, quiet and in a great walking location to the main square and souks. I would highly recommend staying here.
memorable
Quiet, intimate and tasteful. Staff went out of their way to help us navigate the town and make different arrangements. Hospitable and caring and gave us many sound recommendations . We highly recommend DarChadia.
Dar Chadia: An oasis right next to Jemaa el fnaa!
Younes, the owner of the riad, is the nicest person that we have ever met during our numerous travels everywhere around the world! He is available 24/7 and nothing is too much trouble for him. His advice about Marrakech and especially on how to experience Jemaa el fnaa was truly a treasure for us! Riad dar chadia is an oasis in the middle of the craziness that is Jemaa el fnaa! Spotlessly clean, peaceful, serving a simple but tasty breakfast anytime we wanted, a cool rooftop area to relax, great en suite room with private bathroom and shower with some amazing 100% natural products with ample room for our luggage. What else could you ask? Thank you again for a truly wonderful stay!
My wife and I stayed two weeks at Dar Chadia. It was exceptional. What made our stay that great was the care provided by the staff. Younes, the Manager will go above and beyond to help you settle smoothly, learn how to navigate Marrakech including how to avoid in scam and enjoy what that great city has to offer. Latifa, the woman in charge of keeping the place clean and tidy, also helped us buy great spices in the old Souk at low prices! Younes also helped with arranging tours for us at great prices such as a tour to Essaouira and Ourika outside of Marrakesh. I would like also to mention that Dar Chadia is centrally located in the Medina, old town (5 minutes walk from Jamaa Al Fna). I cannot recommend Dar Chadia enough. We stayed two weeks there and every day was a great one.
After reading the reviews my wife and I simply had to go there , especially for our anniversary, and it did not disappoint. Younes, assisted by Latifa, was simply brilliant, nothing was ever any bother, arranging a surprise in alliance with our kids in England on the day of our anniversary. we could go on and on and on, but would like to cherish some of the experience. we also met an American couple, Loraine and Garry, what a blast. DAR CHADIA. If you get the chance go there. Younes and Latifa,, thank you so very much. Stella and Stephen Holder
YOUNES IS A FANTASTIC HOST. WE ASKED FOR A ROOM ON THE FIRST FLOOR AND HE OBLIGED GRACIOUSLY. HE TOOK US ON A FAMILIARIZATION WALK AND GAVE US SOME TIPS ON RESTAURANTS AND VISITS, ALONG WITH A BROCHURE OF WHAT TO SEE. BREAKFAST WAS DIFFERENT EVERY MORNING, AND FRESHLY COOKED. ROOM WAS SPACIOUS AND COMFORTABLE. YOUNES WAS ALWAYS ON HAND FOR ANYTHING WE REQUIRED. WE SHALL RETURN!
Great value. Dar Chadia was perfect for our needs, ideally located within the Medina but like stepping into a quiet oasis of calm. Our stay was made even better by our host, Younes, who went above and beyond to make us welcome, gave us a personal tour of the area, helped with organising tours, transfers and other practicalities, such as purchase of SIM cards. Add to this a very clean and comfortable room with wonderful breakfast and you have all the ingredients of a perfect stay. Highly recommended!
Best Riad in Marrakech
I cannot recommend Dar Chadia enough, from start to finish it was an absolute pleasure to stay here. Younes is the nicest host I have ever come across, he could not do enough for us. His communication before we even arrived was excellent, arranging airport pickup and late checkout. Upon Arrival Younes took us for a walk to the Medina to show us around giving us great tips on where to eat and drink and how to stay safe. The Riad itself was beautiful, extremely comfortable and exceptionally clean. Breakfast was a delight every morning and kept us fueled up for the day ahead. I could go on but instead will just recommend you see for yourself.
Fantastic Stay!
Younes is the BEST host I have ever encountered. He is beyond helpful! He spent time to walk around & showed us the Médina; the places of interest; the best restaurants and the cafe in town. He even advised us to all the do and don’t and useful tips to get around in Morocco. He is very caring and made sure everything is in in place! The Riad is clean & comfortable! The breakfast is just sumptuous! Highly recommend to stay in this Riad!
Lovely
A really lovely gem hidden in the old streets of Marrakech. Younes the manager goes above and beyond his responsibilities to make you welcomed and safe in the city. Latifa the caretaker is very friendly and smiley and makes a tasty breakfast. The decor is gorgeous and everything in the dar is well thought out, highly recommend.
My two daughters and I have just returned from a wonderful stay in Marrakesh where we were hosted by Younes and Latifa at Dar Chadia. From the moment we were met on arrival and escorted from our taxi to the house - it is hard to find - Younes could not do enough to make our stay enjoyable. The rooms are clean, the Riad beautiful with a roof terrace with great views and breakfast is way more than one would except from a ‘continental’ offer. The hotel is in a quiet part of the medina and felt safe. It is central and easy to walk to most of the sites once you get your bearings. I would wholeheartedly recommend this hotel.
We had a wonderful stay at Dar Chadia, from the moment we arrived until we left. The riad is lovely, spotless, cozy. Our room was comfortable. The hosts are wonderful. They take the time to give you advice about what to do or avoid in the city. They walked us to the Jamma El Fna square (which is a10 minute-walk) the first time to make sure we disn't get lost. They were always available. They really do a fantastic job of taking care of the guests and making them feel at home.
Stunning riad - exceptional hospitality
My daughter and I spent a couple of nights at the riad in October. I was slightly nervous about taking her to Marrakech without my husband but as soon as we met Younes I relaxed. He was so helpful and gave us a tour of the square - even though we arrived there after 23;00 - and made sure we could find our way back to the riad. Nothing was too much trouble. All of his recommendations and advice were excellent. The riad itself is stunning, calm, relaxing, cool and peaceful. Highly recommended.
Eunice was very kind and helpful to my friend and I. Dar Chadia is a small, comfortable Riad in the Médina and we recommend it.
Highly recommended raid in marrakech
Perfect raid in marrakech! Super warm, nice, kind, helpful host, who would make me feel like home. Comfortable environment. Good location that can walk to different attractive within 15 mins. When you are there and if you encounter any problems, the staff will try his best to help you. Highly recommended to stay in Dar Chadia. Will definitely come back to there if I go to marrakech again :)
Best Riad in Marrakech
This Riad is awesome - Younes and his team will spoil you from the moment you arrive. Great advice and help! We had 3 glorious nights there, awesome breakfasts, great rooms and a relaxing atmosphere! I can thoroughly recommend this Riad fora genuine Marrakech experience!
It was a great pleasure to stay at Dar Chadia. The property is the very best. It is in a quiet clean area of the old Médina. Younes the property manager arranged our transportation from train station to the property. Once we arrived he made us tea and explained everything. Then he took the time to walk us around the Jamie El Fna making sure we knew our way around. He really makes you feel like family, even booking our excursions for us at the very best prices. Our room was cleaned every day and our breakfast was simply fabulous. Fresh fruit and local bakery breads a fabulous presentation. And all made to order at your specific time request. When I started to catch a cold, I was even made a special brew of tea to make me feel better. The staff are like no other they are amazing people who treat you like you are family. A true gem in the desert.
Filters: Inexpensive, close to Djemaa El Fna, AC, no smoking/pets, free Wi-Fi, breakfast, airport pick-up & of course, great reviews... Dar Chadia did not disappoint! Our driver had to wait for 2 hours & was still cheerful & chatty. Younes met us where the taxi could go no closer & walked us to Dar Chadia – a simple Riad, in line with what it charges – pleasant, clean & comfortable. We appreciated the large shower, plentiful hot water & bedding free of wool/feathers, as requested. The Riad is ~6 minutes from the square’s hubbub, but quiet & peaceful inside. We never felt unsafe walking back at night & made some heartwarming connections along the way :) The Medina's jumble of narrow “street canyons” & intertwined homes was delightful! What we most enjoyed about Dar Chadia was being Younes' guests. Starting with the mint tea welcome, the little talk about what to be aware of at the square & Younes walking us to the square that first night, we knew we were in good hands. Throughout our stay, anything we needed was immediately taken care of. Younes' kindness repeatedly surpassed what one could expect of a host. Every evening, we felt like we were coming home. Breakfast (carb/sugar-heavy) could be improved, but it was always served with warmth & care. The young lady who assists Younes was also so friendly & helpful :) Thank you Younes, for such a comfortable stay & your genuine desire to give your guests a safe & happy visit to your beautiful, captivating & friendly Marrakesh!
A wonderful Riad
Thank you Younes for a wonderful stay at your lovely Riad. Breakfast was fine and location is excellent. Beds were very comfy and the whole place is so clean. It’s a three minute walk from the carpark just inside the Medina. Staff were so kind and welcoming . Highly recommended.
As soon as I got there Yousif the manager sat us down and gave us tea. He explained what to do and what to expect. When we were ready he showed us how to get to the main square and made sure we knew our way. Yousif also helped to make arrangements to a side trip and helped me to find things I wanted to buy. During our stay my husband became ill. Yousif brought him tea and tried to give him things to eat to ease his stomach. He even gave me lunch as I keep watch over my husband all day. We came in as strangers. Became friends. But in the end Yousif was more like family. I cannot thank him enough for all he did. He went above and beyond expectations.
Exquisite hospitality
Our host, Younes, epitomized Moroccan hospitality. He met us upon arrival, gave us an orientation of the area and made my sister tea to help her sleep. The Riad is exquisite. It is also close to the heart of the Medina but very peaceful.
Marrakech near Jemaa-el Fnaa can be a little overwhelming, especially for the first time. For that reason alone I cannot stress enough the importance of someone like Younes to be by your side. From the moment we arrived (via airport transfer that I highly recommend), Younes greeted us with tea, went over the do's and don'ts for the area, gave recommendations for shops and restaurants and even escorted is to the square to ensure we wouldn't be lost. The riad is beautiful, quiet and everybody is lovely. I would definitely stay here again.
Highly recommended
Amazing riad! We loved our stay there and felt more like old friends or family members than guests. The owners and management goes above and beyond to make sure that the accommodations are superb. We loved it!
This riad was the first we have ever stayed at. For those that haven't been, its like a beautiful boutique hotel. The stay was comfortable, but what made it excellent was by far the manager Younes. The service he provided can not be beat. Old Medina can get quite confusing and intimidating initially, but he not only walked us from the transport to the hotel, he walked us directly to Jamee El Fna, provided us with a map, and explained everything from what to watch out for and what things to take advantage of. His guidance made all the difference in the world, and is an absolutely excellent ambassador for first timers to Morocco. The excursions he provides also can not be beat, which can easily be verified when you speak to the other guests on the excursion coming from other riads. If this is your first time in Marakech, or Morocco in general, I can easily say that Dar Chadia is an absolutely excellent way to start your adventure. Younes is a gem, I cannot recommend this riad or Younes enough. Thank you for the absolutely excellent stay Younes!
Best hospitality ever!
Home away from home. Dar Chadia is more beautiful in person than in pictures. Younes, Latifa, and Marijke were so helpful, sweet and really cared about your happiness and safety during your stay in Marrakesh, not just your time in the Dar. They would go above and beyond to make sure you have a wonderful time. At the end of my time in Marrakech, they feel like dear friends to me and not just hotel hosts. Breakfast is homemade and delicious. Space is clean and quite. Highly recommend Dar Chadia.
We had a perfect stay at Riad dar Chadia, it is charming and so are the staff. You are looked after like family. Younes is extremely helpful and makes sure you can find your way through the medina back to the riad. The location is great, very close to the square and many tourist attractions. We hope to be back soon
The owner is one of the nicest person I have ever encountered from years of traveling. He gave us so many helpful tips and advises for our stay at Marrakech (there is really a lot of tourist traps)! The breakfast was excellent and the room was very clean and spacious. Really enjoy my stay at the place! The location is at a quiet one way alley so it can be a little difficult to find at first, be sure to contact the hotel they will give you clear instructions as to how to get there and pick you up, don’t just get random taxi drivers they will just drop you off at the Jenna square which is quite a bit of walk to the hotel.
Elegant Riad with Host who goes above and beyond!
Our group of 3 stayed at Dar Chadia for 4 nights and everything was wonderful - the location, the riad, our rooms, and our amazing host Younes! EXPERIENCE The best part of our visit was our host Younes, who took such great care of us! He arranged for someone to meet us at the airport, waited for the car to arrive at the drop off point, walked us to the riad, and welcomed us with mint tea and cookies. He then showed us around the Medina, gave us helpful recommendations on things to do, places to eat, and things to avoid. We immediately felt like we were staying with a good friend! Breakfast was delicious, filled with different pastries, juice, cheese, and more. I especially enjoyed the Moroccan crepes. We really loved having tea with Younes in the evenings, getting to know him, and hearing his recommendations for the next day's activities. He offered to arrange excursions for us, and even let us come with him to the supermarket one day! LOCATION A 5-7 min walk away from the main square, but on a side street, so it was both convenient and quiet. ROOMS The riad itself is cozy and elegant. There are 5 guest rooms, all surrounding a central courtyard. Our rooms were nicely decorated, very clean, with comfortable double beds. Bathrooms were large, en-suite, and had nice-smelling bath products! There was air conditioning in each room, but we didn't need it because we traveled in November. We had a such a wonderful time and couldn't have asked for more!
