Hotel is located very close to subway and train station. Hardly 5 minutes walk. It is close to Penn station. Staff was super friendly and very accommodating. Hotel has a restaurant and we had pre-paid breakfast coupons for adults. Breakfast served is hot and has many good options. Restaurant main server did not find him kind and was less patience and many mistakes in our order. Otherwise food was 4 out of 5. Hotel walls are thin and can hear next door neighbors. Also, little kid crying next door we can hear as well. Small fridge in the hotel, its compressor was way too loud and noisy as a car motor running. Had to unplug it. Heater did not work. They moved us to another room and still the same issue. Bathroom's are out dated but acceptable. Hotel room size are way too small. we did not even have a space to open 1 full size bag. And hardly any space to keep rest of the 2 small bags. Beds were too soft and not firm. Bed size is full size and not queen. After moving to another room, the noise was reduced and there was some small space where we can open the full size bag. Overall proximity to all attractions is nice, hot breakfast was good, staff was good, very close to train stations and price for the hotel is fair. However it is not a 4 star hotel for me. I will look for other options next time around.

Great stay!

I thoroughly enjoyed my short stay at this hotel. However some of the electrical ports for the phones need to be repaired. Other than that. Excellent stay!!

Need to improve the breakfast service

The breakfast service was hit or miss, some of the staff did not seem to be motivated to serve in a timely manner.

Yoni, who checked us in, was friendly and helpful-- future hotel CEO? Room was too small, but nice and clean, and had a fridge. Liked the pod coffee in the room.

Great Hotel for the price

Nice hotel with a great stsff and an easy walk from Penn station.

After a misunderstanding, our week stay was very nice. Our needs were met and housekeeping did an outstanding job in maintaining our room each day. I was a little disappointed because the room did not have a microwave but Rome was not built in a day. Some things take time. I appreciate the kindness that was shown to my daughter and myself. Thank you!

Really like this hotel. Will definitely stay again. It’s centrally located and is clean and has modern amenities. My only complaint is that the food in the restaurant wasn’t that great, but overall I was pleased.

Comfy beds but no bottled water

For 500+ a night I expected water to be in my room. There should’ve been at least 2 water bottles but I had to have my own water bottle and refill on the 6th fl. The rooms were really small and not inline with the price. The beds were comfy and the hotel was convenient! There’s a bar down stairs that was great! Staff was nice and friendly!

Great place in a great location. Cold e to subway, trains, and a lot of hot spots.

Not consistent with hot water for showers; sometimes waited awhile for hot water and other times only a luke warm shower. Service in the restaurant was not great. Lack of quality control.

Champagne welcome was such a solid touch.

It was good with a convenient location but a bit disappointed with front desk person. She said we would get a text when room was ready and we waited for hours with no text. Later the front desk explained she put the phone number in wrong. A small mistake that had a big impact on our trip. The room was very nice and convenient to train station.

NYC AT CHRISTMAS!

I have always wanted to visit NY at Christmas! It was magical. The Crowne Plaza was clean and beautiful decorated for Christmas. The customer service was exceptional. We had a problem with the TV and remote control. They were quick to get maintenance on the issue and it was resolved quickly. We had breakfast in the restaurant which was really convenient and provided a healthy start to very busy days. If you return later in the night the walk to the hotel can be a little stressful; just be aware of your surroundings. Also within walking distance of Madison Square Garden!! It was a great stay!!

Good location and a good price. I was hoping to check in early, but understand that in a busy area, this isn’t always possible. Check in was scheduled for 3 PM and we did get in just before that. Great room & shower, comfy bed, and good climate control. Nice bar/restaurant, which was convenient. The staff were all polite and professional. Good job.

Im always happy with ihg hotels. This time is no exception. I had a lovely room, and excellent service and felt comfortable for my entire stay.

My teenagers and I had the most wonderful stay here. The location is great - some reviews mentioned it felt unsafe however this was not our experience. Yes there was one homeless person on the street but that is like most side streets. The room was modern, extremely clean and spacious enough - especially when you’re not in nyc to spend time in room all day. The most memorable part of our stay here though was the wonderful staff - we were greeted by Jeferson on reception & he accommodated an early check in for us which was a God send after a red eye flight. Very grateful! Every interaction with a staff member here was so pleasant and they could not have been more hospitable or welcoming every time we returned to the hotel and with a few requests we had. We would choose to stay here for future visits. Would recommend this hotel to everyone!

The property is very centrally located. To both walking and mass transit. But like most rooms in NYC, the rooms are very small. They should make room for two suitcases and drawers to put your stuff. Otherwise we had a very enjoyable time there.

Very clean and polite hotel. And I’m a huge critique on leaving reviews for bad hotels! Great location to access Times Square, staff very friendly, complimentary wine from 3-11pm. And they keep your bags for you free of charge if you need to leave them after check out and you have a late flight! Will be booking again

We chose Crowne Plaza HY36 for the location. It’s very close to Madison Square Garden and Penn Station, so it was an ideal home base for our NYC exploration. All the staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful. It was nice to be greeted each time we entered the lobby. The room was very comfortable, with good water pressure in the shower. We plan on staying here again whenever we travel to New York.

Walking distance to Amtrak. A bit longer walk to Broadway and Central Park. Staff exceptionally friendly. Rooms small but to be expected. Restaurant attached just OK.

The hotel staff were incredible - it didn’t matter who you ran into, they were always offering help and were super friendly. Rooms were super clean and spacious. Beds and pillows were comfortable. Would definitely stay again and recommend!

Very good experience

Property was great, location is great, staff were great everything is close. Only thing negative thing I can say about this property is that the rooms aren’t very sound proof and you can hear people talking in the hallway and adjacent rooms as if they were in your room. I’m a light sleeper and I use ear plugs often so I was fine.

Okay but check HVAC before settling in

HVAC was blowing right on me no matter where i positioned myself in the king bed. And the fan on the HVAC was powerful so the sleep wasnt the best. No cup in the bathroom. Room was clean and bed was comfortable.

The hotel is lovely. Every staff member was very friendly, professional and polite. The food and staff at the restaurant are also great. The hotel is in midtown, minutes from Times Square. Very convenient, subway stop a block away. I'll gladly stay here on my next trip to NYC. All that said, it is a hotel in midtown in a huge city, with all the challenges like people struggling with homelessness and addiction that come with it. I'm from another big city, so I'm used to it and accept that it comes with the territory. If that's something that will shock you or make you feel unsafe, you might choose another destination.

Very close to a lot of nice area in Manhattan! But our shower was not working well, however the staff was very helpful and pleasant. Would definitely stay again because of the conveniences in terms of how to get around. It’s close to time square, the edge, the vessel and even Central Park! All nice walking distances.

Hotel is great, very clean and neat. Staff was very helpful. The only downside is the location, is not the best area, nevertheless is very close to MSG and 34th street. Many places to eat and shop. Very close to Macy's.

Hotel Room good, beds and pillows very comfortable, but not enough storage space for clothes and could do with putting up a mirror above electric socket - to dry hair. Very clean and staff lovely, could do with kettle in room or take one with you as they supply a tea maker that uses pods - no good if you want your own tea and coffee - Restaurant and bar was good and busy - lovely stay all in all.
