Great location in a pleasant neighbourhood

The facility is old. I experienced a water leak and had to move to a different room during the night!

Overall good location

We have been staying in this hotel for couple of times now. We like the friendly staff and breakfast buffet. They are removating this hotel stay rooms. The room is clean and the inside is new. This is very close to American IHG hotel standard. The only place I would like to ask that this hotel has access to American sites like Google or YouTube. It is very difficult for us to use the internet without Google access.

It’s in the center of Shanghai with 2 subway lines within walking distance and many restaurants, coffee shops, and convenient stores. It’s next to a movie theatre, people can easily enjoy the latest movies.

Convenient Location

The hotel is in a convenient location and about 10 minutes easy walk to a subway station. The lounge on the main floor was excellent. The business lounge was nice to but lacked atmosphere. Background music would have been nice.

my biggest issue is with the Wi-Fi. so poor. it is not possible t maintain any work on this

Fabulous service

Cozy and spacious room with the movie decoration. Only 5 mins walk to the subway station line 10/11. Receptionist and concierge were friendly and willing to help. Thank you for the great service!

Best real Shanghai neighborhood - love it for biz

I look forward to staying at this hotel every Fall. From the front desk service to the discreet and kind cleaning staff, this is my choice for Shanghai. There is Yunnan, sushi, Beijing hot pot and great quality massage right on Panyu Road.

Old building and very small room. Quite disappointed and worse than other Crowne plaza hotels I stayed.

Good stay. Conveniently located if you need to go to places like yu Yuan, Disney and Xin tian di and it is affordable.

The room is very nice and warm. Location is close the dingxi road where there are many restaurants.

Don’t they look at the booking?

Put me in a double-bed room instead of a king as booked. Had to lug my bags back down to reception. Kid randomly put me in the wrong room.

The hotel condition is clean, the hotel employees are friendly and very helpful.. Nice location, this hotel is surrounded by many restaurants with delicious chinese food. It takes only 10 minutes to go to Shanghai Jiao Tung University and it takes only 8 minutes to Metro Jiao Tung Station

My booking was a doubled-bed room but initially the reception staff gave me a 2-bed room. After I revealed to him what my booking was, he responded that there was no availability of such room. Upon my insistence of doubted-bed room, he finally assigned a doubled-bed room to me. Further, I was asked to give money as deposit. I gave my card for this purpose. Then, he asked m3 to signed the printed credit card invoice which no staff would do so. Rather disappointed.

not impressed as expected

breakfast buffet is so so. the building is old, location is not ideal, and view is average. I stay here because it is close to my friends and reasonably priced otherwise I wouldn't and probable will never again.

Nice stay

I enjoyed my stay at the hotel. The room, TV, and wifi are quite good. Lots of nice shopping areas surrounding the hotel (most notably a Starbucks behind the hotel)

Nice hotel in midtown

A bit far away from Pudong airport. Other wise in a good neighborhood. The subway Line 10 is 10 min walk. The staff is awakward. Good breakfast. Room, I got was clean but bit dated and small compared to other three Crowne Plaza in China I stayed this year.

First Shanghai experience

The hotel suited our requirements being near the Metro, close to local contacts, central to tourist destinations and in a quiet area of the City. We recommend the breakfast, but cannot comment on other meals as we made the most of local restaurants of which there are many to experience. If visiting again we will certainly stay at the hotel and recommend it to friends.

Decent stay in a nice and quiet neighborhood

Overall, the hotel was good, but I felt it was overpriced for what it had to offer. I liked the neighborhood - it's close to a university and quiet, but you can also get to subway within 5-10 min walk. Regarding the guest rooms, I stayed in the old tower, so the rooms were comfortable enough, but not particularly modern or renovated. For example, there were huge holes in my shower curtains. The hotel staff did their job, but were not going out of their way to help. To summarize, it's a decent and comfortable hotel if you get a good price, but otherwise I feel you can get a better deal for your money elsewhere.

It is a 3 star hotel

We stayed there for 3 nights based on a friend's recommendation. The location is great, 10 minutes walk to a subway station. However, age has obviously caught with the hotel. The furniture is old, the carpet is very dirty, Wifi is terribly slow. The hotel needs a make over to qualify for a 4 star hotel.

Great location, however the price does not give a very good value for money. The rooms are quite old fashioned and could use a renovation.

Never stay here

My room smelled musty. Service was horrible. Bellhops watched me unload my luggage myself and did not offer any assistance.

I will not stay in this hotel in the future. First of all, the key to the room is always faulty. Every time I want to enter my room, i have to request the concierge for a new room key. During my last day of stay, I ordered 100 crabs to be bring back to my country. When i checked out, i saw a box that i assumed was my crabs. They told me it's not for my room. They gave me another package. When I arrived in my country and open the package, it was other stuffs... Very unprofessional.

Crowne Plaza Review

The only problem was that the room was too hot for sleeping. We understood that government regulations preclude running the air conditioning at this time of year (October). Max daytime temp about 25 deg C with the bedroom about the same. Outside noise level was high, mainly vehicle horn noise. The limited window opening didn't in any case make much difference to the temp. Breakfasts very good and staff always helpful.

Great service but needs deep clean

Nice place and good value. Bed was very comfortable but the bathrooms need details like grout to be cleaned/bleached as they are getting old and grubby.

Great location and price

Service is always great when I stay at the Crowne Plaza. This Crowne plaza had an older style to it, probably not as renovated as the recent Crowne plazas I've stayed at but the experience was still just as great. It is located next to many tourist attractions and restaurants and small shops. Perfect place to stay if you're coming to visit or like me, for business. Would definitely stay here again - all my taxi drivers knew the area!

Business Hotel near Shanghai JiaoTong University

Business Hotel located near Shanghai JiaoTong university. Peaceful Neighbourhood with lots of students. Some local restaurants with reasonable prices for a quick bite if you do not want to eat in the hotel.

Nice Hotel in Shanghai

Nice, clean hotel. Good breakfast buffet and friendly staff. Not a whole lot within walking distance, but just about everything is within a 20 minute taxi ride.

Crowne

The maintenance of the room need to improve. Light switch is broken. It didn't seem to be a 4/5 stars rating hotel if it compare to other countries. Also bad experience on the taxi ride in hotel, the taxi driver is rude and refuse take me go to a nearby place. The driver is expecting all guests should go to Pudong airport. I will say hotel should arrange better for the queued taxi or non-queued taxi. As I hotel guest, I feel upset about this.

Not worth the money

This hotel is old and shabby. It's not worth the good dollars I paid for the King suite. It has not much nearby to eat properly or shop. It does however have a mini mart across the road to purchase alcohol because the hotel prices are such a rip off. The one good thing about this hotel was the subway is just a 5 minute walk to get away from the place. Won't be staying here again.

Was not up to your usual standards. I realise I got a 40% discount and this was my mistake, as I was saying to my travelling companion, you get what you pay for. Had problems with the door card, usually 5 trys to open the door and the buffet breakfast was not good, the food was prepared late and coffee had run out. I will not recommend the hotel to others.

Shanghai Crowne Plaza - close to Metro line

We have stayed at this hotel twice, and will keep returning. Excellent rooms and soft, comfortable beds. Breakfast buffet is ok but we find the food is not hot enough. This is due to the way these hot food bain-marie's work. They are not satisfactory. The selection of food is good. Only negative is the reception staff are not friendly and never smile.

Nice Hotel in a Great Location

This high-quality, busy, up-to-date, and comfortable hotel is located in the heart of the French Concession, an attractive, older, less crowded district of Shanghai with abundant restaurants and other attractions. The hotel is a 5 min walk from the Metro, a very modern system easily used by English-speakers. This quick, inexpensive system now connects all of Shanghai, including Pudong and Hongqiao Airports and the incomparable Shanghai Museum. The Crowne Plaza Shanghai seemed a good value for a quality, well-located urban hotel. However, the expansive breakfast (not part of our package) was pricey.

Stayed at this hotel 8 nights. The cleaning was not good and the room felt old. Overpriced food and drinks at the hotel. Only good thing was the gym and the personal was helpful.

It is a hotel just good for short stay if one does not have need for quality dining. The breakfast offers a good variety but nothing particularly tempting.

This Hotel is very nice! The room was spacious, fully stocked with supplies,and the employees were kind. It's recommended.

The hotel is quite old but the location is very convenient in the city centre. The staff is friendly and willing to help especially in getting a taxi in rush hours. There are a lot of shops and restaurants nearby. The breakfast choice is quite limited so it is better to eat outside.

フロントに日本人スタッフがいて助かりました。朝ごはんも美味しいです。他の方が書かれているような「古い」とはあまり感じませんた。フランス租界に近いロケーションも、街歩きが楽しめて良かったです。幸福路というオシャレカフェエリアがすぐ目の前にあったり、レストランも多く、この辺りだけでもさほど不自由しません。

飯店離地鐵很近，附近有電影院、超市、星巴克、便利店、餐廳等，非常方便，是附近最優的選擇。內部乾淨、舒適，果然連鎖飯店的品質有一定的水準！

总体满意的住宿

酒店略显陈旧，网不大容易连得上，不过位置很好，服务也还不错，价格比较贵，性价比不是很高，总体还算满意。

落ち着いたロケーション

建物は古くリノベーションが必要。映画館併設でテーマホテルとなっていてイベントも。近隣フランス租界で街並みが綺麗で、小さなレストランも多数。地下鉄 上海交通大学駅徒歩10分。
