We received a lovely warm welcome. Staff very attentive food excellent
The staff were very friendly. Especially Michelle. The location was very beautiful yet convenient to everything in the area we wanted to see.
Friendliness of every member of staff- hotel, grounds, view and the food were all fabulous
Verry happy with the food and hotel will go back .
Riverside views worth the extra
Beautiful location, friendly staff good food hotel had wonderful views but looking tired in places
2 night stay to the end of our tour of West Wales
Although probably the best hotel and restaurant in Betws-y-Coed it is looking rather dated and in need of some further refurbishment eg the dripping hot tap in the bathroom and the carpet in the common areas. A 4 star hotel but not sure how it warranted this grading. The staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming, we ate here twice but service was very slow due to ‘chef’ staffing problems, but the food was good. A bit surprised that a glass of wine came out of a miniature rather than a full bottle. The meal is also not cheap, £36 for a main and a dessert!!
Sunny riverside stay
A beautiful relaxing stay so lucky with the weather. Great food, lovely location and rooms . Very professional staff that go above and beyond We will return
A very lovely stay
From start to finish fabulous. Easy and simple booking, friendly and helpful staff. We enjoyed a 2 night stay b&b and added on a lovely meal on our first night. The food was tasty and outstanding. Surrounding grounds were beautiful & it’s perfect location to explore north wales. Also felt safe with all the Covid regulations in place.
Almost perfect
Great stay, great location, great staff, only comment is it felt sometimes with only 2 staff they were run ragged doing everything, reception, bar, restaurant all at the same time..this impacted on waiting times. But again cannot fault the staff we met all first class...
We arrived a little late in the evening but Mark at reception was ever so kind and helped us into our room. The chef quickly made us delicious meals. Over all the staff was amazing and very welcoming.
Michelle on reception was very helpful
The place was so relaxing . Sitting on the terrace looking over the lake, just amazing views all around.
One of the best hotels in Betws-Y-Coed
This was our second stay in this hotel and we are planning to stay here in the future when we are on our next holiday in Snowdonia. Amazing location, plenty of parking, welcoming staff, great breakfast, clean room and bathroom (!!!), short walk to the village centre. TVs are on the smaller side but we did not come here to watch TV. Electric cars can be charged nearby. We had a great time!
Not really a 4 Star. But good location.
Stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. Not really a 4 star and on that basis was over priced. Hotel very clean & breakfast was good with plenty of choice but not brilliant. Hotel bar was immaculate and plenty of choice on offer. Room was large but need of some TLC and the bed was not very comfortable.Tea & Coffee making facilities in room. The TV was probably the size of my pc monitor & for a 4 star I would have expected a 50 inch LCD full HD. The WiFi connectivity was excellent. Location is excellent at the edge of town with views over the river possible. Walking to the start of the town amenities is about 10 minutes.
Tranquil riverside hotel.
Stayed here for one night, it's a lovely quaint hotel, just on the outskirts of Betws-y-coed. The hotel is accessed down a private drive way and once you're there, it'd hard to believe the town is so close. There's free parking, WiFi, a well stocked bar area with a beautiful outdoor deck. We stayed in a superking size room. The room was decorated in a modern boutique style. Was spacious, had a clean private bathroom with separate bath and shower but the best part was the private balcony with a view of the river. Perfect for sitting out as the sun went down. Breakfast was included and they had a good selection of hot and cold offerings. I would happily recommend the place.
hotel in beautiful picturesque area of north wales with a reasonable distance from busy road through betws y coed.
Very comfortable, lovely grounds.
Staff couldn't do enough to help. Very enjoyable overnight stay
Staff nice...very clean..dinners were best part..hard pillows..matress so so...free water...no lift...no thermostat or fan.
Snowden adventure and delights of Betws-y-coed
The hotel is situated perfectly on the edge of the town. Just a lovely stroll in the evening and you are in the heart of everything. The local walks are perfect and challenging, with guides readily available and excellent sign posting. The river adds another dimension, with walks that follow the natural lines of the landscape. Public transport for Snowden is a must, the car parks at the base of the mountain are busy from the early hours and expensive. The bus runs regularly for a nominal fare; highly recommended! There are a few pubs and restaurants worth a visit, our favourite being Pont-y-pair inn which served fabulous home cooked food which we devoured after a hard days walking.
Relaxing
Relaxing hotel with great food and a lovely position by the side of the river. Lots of wild life to see and total peace.
A great place to base yourself
Excellent location. Staff and service couldn't be faulted. The restaurant is first class....we ate there for both breakfast and dinner and again, you couldn't fault either. Would certainly stay again and there's no better recommendation than that.
Great Hotel
Great hotel, great staff and fantastic food. Made to feel welcome as soon as you walked through the door.
Great Hotel - Except the Mattresses
The hotel setting is great in all respects: on a beautiful river, close to town but far enough away to not have all the traffic noise. The restaurant has very good food and at a reasonable price. The restaurant ventilation system at times seemed to leak food odors into the bar/reception area. The staff were great. We had a river view room which was spacious with a fine bathroom. Unfortunately the single beds were quite uncomfortable with one giving the impression springs were going to pop through the mattress at any moment. For what one pays at the hotel this really needs to be addressed. Sitting amongst a great walking area one would have expected the hotel to have it own suggested best walks brochure. Other than lending us an ordinance map they really had nothing to offer in this regard. Still highly recommend the hotel.
Great dog-friendly hotel
This hotel is quite literally on the river bank, in stunning grounds. The food is excellent and it is very dog friendly.
beautiful views
We had such an amazing stay. We were only there for one night but the views were amazing, the room was very comfortable, the staff couldn't do enough for us and the food was incredible! If we hadn't had plans we might have tried to stay longer! Hope to go back soon!
Great break.
Beautiful hotel in beautiful surroundings with very friendly service
Lovely friendly staff and fantastic meal at the hotel, however they couldn't find our booking when we checked in, the room wasn't value for money and the shower leaked all over the bathroom.
Riverside Hotel
The whole experience from start to finish couldn't be faulted, the staff were so helpful and couldn't do enough for you. The evening meal and breakfast was superb along with the room.
Beautiful location
The setting of the hotel is beautiful with great views especially from the dining area. It is just a short walk to the main town centre. The food menu had lots of choice and was very good. The room was nicely decorated and clean but very warm.
Total relaxation!
Fabulous hotel, lovely setting. The staff were amazing and made sure we had a really good stay. The food was exceptional, especially the cooked breakfast. We will definately use this hotel again.
Beautiful surroundings.
The hotel is set in it's own grounds, lovely lawn and views, and the river running alongside. There is a nice patio too. Our room, number 3, was very spacious and clean. Good bathroom. Amazing view across the grounds and river. We booked a meal for the evening. I was disappointed, I had fish and it seemed a bit dried up, my husband thought the same about his food. There were about a dozen other guests eating, but was very quiet. They some annoying background music that does the loop all day. If you like a decent pint of beer, this hotel is not for you. Guinness, a welsh beer, John smiths and some lagers. My husband was not impressed. We tried another hotel to eat the second night, but it was full. The hotel was nice, but maybe a bit too quiet for us. We are in our early sixties.
Absolutely fabulous
Hotel and surroundings are other-worldly beautiful. Staff are really helpful and food is fantastic. Highly recommended!
Beautiful location (even in the rain)
A very pleasant hotel with exceptional staff and beautiful views along the River Conwy. Also a convenient location for reaching all parts of the Welsh North
beautiful setting
such a peaceful location. The view from our room was stunning. We will be back!
Lovely, quiet stay
Lovely position in Betws-Y-Coed, peaceful and beautiful views. Ideal for main street and walks etc and has car parking. Restaurant is excellent and people were coming from neighbouring hotel to eat there as the food was better!
A Scottish treasure
A complete joy - a country house hotel and just like staying with the family. Individual rooms and comfy public areas - if you want new and designer hotel furnishings you might be disappointed - if you want a stay that feels like home from home you will be delighted. Staff could not have been nicer or more helpful, the views especially from the dining room are spectacular, and the food was beautifully prepared and presented. We just need to find another reason to go back!!
two day break
Stayed for two nights in mid June. Staff very friendly and helpful. Situation by the river Conwy really nice. Our room was up in the roof and very hot but staff found us a fan when asked. Our evening meal was very good with nice fresh local ingredients our breakfast was ok but let down by cheap nasty sausages and bacon, felt like it was cooked to low cost which is a real shame. The staff and location are the real strong points of the hotel.
Great stay in a lovely place
Friendly, helpful staff, great location. Beautiful riverside setting. Exceeded expetations.
Lovely old hotel set in the Snowdonia mountains
Hotel is nestled under a hill adjacent to a river with stunning views. Simply wonderful food, especially with the corner seat over the river. Comfortable, spacious room with a very nice en suite. Wonderful staff who provided excellent service.
Great Location and Fantastic Hotel
Great hotel with lovely views of the river and surrounding countryside. Staff were exceptionally friendly even under pressure which they were at times. The room was spacious with a balcony overlooking the river. The food was exceptional and the menu was different each day. Will definitely return to this hotel.
“Comfy beds”; “Great location”; “Good service”
Lovely location
Really pleasant service. Enjoyable dinner with stunning views.
Great location
Great location, very scenic especially the restaurant, welcoming staff. We would recommend and would go back to.
lovely hotel next to river
Nice stay, pretty spot by the river. Friendly staff.
Very good hotel in lovely position.
This was a very good traditional country hotel. It was well presented and in a lovely location overlooking the Conwy River.
lovely getaway
It was excellent - the staff really friendly & helpful, food amazing, location gorgeous. Small gripe in that the rooms in the eves were very small and are charged the same as the lower rooms which were more spacious and airy
a good hotel for visitors seeking solitude
The hotel was under occupied with only two people using the bar lounge which closed at 10.45pm
Great getaway
Great service, great location, two suggestions. Make menu more Welsh. Have steps down to river. Never expected Haggis on a menu in Wales. Overall a must stay hotel, wonderful place.
Great views
Very well run. Excellent food. Make sure you ask for a room facing the river for amazing views. Only a short walk into town and easy road access to all the surrounding poi. Would definitely stay again when in Betws y Coed.
