All was well could use a continental breakfast

This motel is in the perfect spot, quiet neighborhood, convenient parking and FREE, lots of dining options nearby. Not much I need for a pleasant stay in the City.

This was an excellent place to stay. It’s centrally located so access to restaurants and such were extremely convenient.

This place was great!!

We stayed two nights and the hotel was amazing! We had a slightly confusing reservation but they had it all figured out before we even got there. The staff were friendly and helpful! The room was clean and the beds were super comfortable. It is so conveniently located we just left our car and used public transit to get everywhere. I want to commend them for not using little plastic bottles for shampoo and such as well. That drives me nuts! I could not have asked for a better or nicer place to stay. The price was very reasonable for what you got as well. I have seen others complain about housekeeping but it is clearly stated just ask the night before if you want housekeeping the following day, it doesn't seem confusing. We generally don't like anyone in our room so we were good with it. I don't like wasting resources when they aren't needed. Do you change your sheets daily at home? I doubt it. Make your own bed and hang your towel, don't be ridiculous.

The rooms are completely renovated and beautiful, really great for the price. The area is extremely safe (very important) and two blocks from dozens of cute restaurants. You are close to the water and a bus away from every other neighbourhood. Super happy with our stay here.

Comfy

The staff was helpful, the room was large and comfortable. The fridge should probably be replaced (did not stay cold) and the alarm clock was broken. None of which interfered with my comfort.

Nice spot and would recommend

Very clean and nicely remodeled hotel. Street noise as is to be expected if your room is on the Lombard side. Free parking in a garage is super nice in SF. I don’t love the tempurpedic bed, but that’s just a personal choice.

Very clean and very tastefully upgraded. Loved my corner room with lots of natural light. The thermostat was easy to manage and responded immediately to my preferences. Great location and walking distance to so many options. On-site parking was super convenient.

Great location and room was great - clean and new.

We had booked 2 rooms for three nights. There was no exhaust fan in one of the bathrooms leading to steam buildup and eventually water condensed on the ceiling. In the other bathroom, the flush handle would not work normally even though the flush did work after a bit of trial and error. There is a convenience/liquor store right next door which was super useful for buying disposable plates, spoons etc to share meals ordered via Uber Eats. There are a few breakfast places within walking distance. We tried one called Home Plate. It was good although a bit one the pricier side. Coventry motor inn is fairly close to the major tourist attractions; we were able to utilize Waymo taxis to get around quite easily.

Worth staying at

The parking situation was great, the room was beautiful and big and clean, but the guy at the front desk was a little rude. All the other staff was really nice though. Would definitely like to stay there again.

Have good restaurants within walk distance. Plenty free parking. No room service if not specifically requested. No free breakfast. Room clean. Staff friendly. Easy to get Uber service. Close to attractions.

Sizable room. Two star hotel with five star space. Nice bath. Great location walkable to Union Street, Chestnut Street and the marina. Also walkable to Fishermans wharf. The best, most secure car park!

Very clean room and hotel is conveniently located in walking distance to many shops & dining options. Felt very safe leaving our car in their gated underground garage too.

Lovely inside the room, outside (the city streets, not the Inn is just very littered, and filthy).

Last time it was very good

Second time here at the Coventry Inn and it was just as good as the first time. Friendly, helpful staff, great room rates, and an excellent location for exploring San Francisco.

Clean and Secure!

Loved the hotel, friendly and helpful staff, beautiful rooms, safe parking, and good location only ½ mile from Ghirardelli Square. Our only hiccup—we were in a room facing Lombard Street and it was SO loud all night. The hotel itself was extremely quiet. We didn't hear a peep from any of our heighbors. The street noise (which typically doesn’t bother me that much) was extreme. If it weren't for that, I probably wpuld have slept very well because the mattress was very firm and comfortable and the sheets were probably the best sheets I've ever slept on.

The staff made this stay amazing. I brought a few of my own meals and they let me microwave it in their office, which I did a few times. The parking was great and secure. They even let me leave my car there until the afternoon of our checkout day so we could walk down to the pier to watch the Blue Angels fly. Our key was deactivated since we had already checked out, so they gave us access to get our car out of the garage when we returned. Room was great, but we checked in super late at night so got one of the rooms where the window looked inward into the building, but it still let natural light in and had full privacy. Room was clean, spacious and comfortable. Location for walking all around Fisherman’s Wharf area was great. There was also a bike rental place just down the street, which was also fun for getting around easily. Would stay here again for sure, but hopefully get a window facing outside to the street instead.

It is located near many attractions nearby. The parking was not very organized.

Despite its location, my room was very quiet. The place, overall, is very clean. Staff was very friendly. I would recommend to friends and families.

Room was very clean with a nice appearance. Gated parking garage made us feel safe. Check in was easy. We flew in very early and when we arrived our room was ready. Allowing us to relax before heading out to the city to explore. Lots of room and bathroom was large. Beds were comfortable.

I was a little surprised upon arrival at the tiny lobby/check in - it's completely disconnected from the rest of the motel. That said, our interactions with the staff were good. The area feels safe. Lots of options for shopping, dining and entertainment near by. Our room faced a busy street and there was a fair amount of traffic noise.

I loved my stay here. Stayed 3 days and it was super pleasant. If I come to SF again I’ll definitely stay here again. Super clean, quite, safe, & friendly.

Great stay for the price. Rooms where renovated nicely to retain that old San Fran look.

Very clean. Plenty of plug ins for devices. Didn't like the shower. No TV channel guide or restaurant guides. No microwave.

Property was clean and the location was good for touring around San Francisco. The free parking was a huge bonus Some of the amenities in the room did not work properly and They need to use a better fabric softener for the towels because they were extremely hard and scratchy!

Very nice hotel. Parking was convenient and included which was very nice. There was a stain on one of the bedsheets however, that is the only negative during my stay. Overall safe neighborhood and amazing staff:) i will be returning!

Convenient off street free parking. Easy check in process with friendly staff. We had 6 suitcases, so the availability of luggage trolleys was super helpful. The room was magnificent. Big, immaculately clean, smelt like it had been freshly decorated. The king size bed was huge & super comfortable. The bathroom was equally as clean, nice big bathtub & shower. Decent TV in the room, with a fridge & plenty of storage options. Absolutely would stay again next time visiting San Francisco.

The room was lovely, large and modern - looked as though it’s been recently updated. Well equipped with fridge and coffee machine. A bit out of the way but easy connections using muni buses - highly recommend getting a daily pass.

Staff was very kind and allowed an earlier check in because they had a room available. Very kind! The rooms were lovely! Very clean and nicely redone. Bed was very comfortable. I’m always unsure which of these motels to choose when I’m on a work trip to SF. But I’m very happy we selected this one. I was very pleased.

Great small hotel with great location

All the rooms were remodeled in 2022. The beds are very comfortable! The bathrooms are as good as you can make them. Large bathtub and great over head shower. The Wifi works great. My wife and I stayed to visit family. I found the location was perfect. You could walk to the Marina, have coffee at multiple places, like Chestnut Street, Union Street, etc. Great neighborhood!

The room was clean and they have tempurpedic mattresses! The parking was secure and has a gate that you need room key access for. So my car was safe...which is always a huge concern in SF. It was also very quiet in the room and had blackout drapes and a good window unit AC/ heat. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Loved it

The Coventry Inn is in a convent location for walking to Fisherman’s wharf, Golden Gate Bridge, restaurants, coffee, and an easy Uber pick up point. It was clean and comfortable.

The property was recently renovated and very clean. The staff was welcoming and graciously answered all of our questions. We felt safe throughout our entire stay and the gated parking was so convenient. The only drawback was that it was a little noisy at night due to the traffic outside our window. Despite this, we would highly recommend this property.

Due to it's location, it was easy to get to the bay and other attractions around the Marina District.

Excellent place to stay

Contacted hotel prior to arrival and they allowed me to park my car well before check in. Rooms were all clean and good size. Location is very good with a local bus stop within a block. Only slight criticism is that room was only supplied with two coffees for two days stay, however we just had to go down stairs and get more.

Great clean comfy hotel

Excellent spacious room with very comfortable beds. Modern updated bathroom and tastefully decorated throughout. Convenient parking, great safe area with restaurants and bars on nearby chestnut street. 30 mins walk to pier 39.

Great little stay here. Probably the easiest place and cleanest we have stayed in our 6 locations on our holiday so far!

Great value for money

This remodeled motel is good value for money, especially in an expensive city like San Francisco! The staff especially Jon were very helpful with all our needs. The location is great! Close to the Marina and Chestnut street for brunch.

Great Stay

I’ve stayed here three times and it always seems to get better. They have remodeled the rooms and they are spacious, clean, and beautiful. There is a window where we can look out into the street and they have covered parking. It’s very quiet and I’ll be staying here again. This is my go to spot when I visit San Francisco.

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at the Coventry Motor Inn. The inn has its own parking area, they do have available gated parking spots. Walking distance to food and bar areas. There is also a Lyft bike rental station right across the street. Overall great place to stay.

L'hôtel a tout pour lui, bien situé, jolie chambre spacieuse fraîchement rénovée et un parking disponible sur place gratuit. Malheureusement, le gros bémol de notre séjour, c'est le comportement tout simplement inacceptable de deux employés à l'accueil. Arrogants, odieux, impolis et irrespectueux. Parlant couramment l'anglais, nous avons essayé de comprendre les raisons de cette attitude, mais en vain. C'était pour nous du jamais vécu.

We were pleasantly surprised with this stay. We haven’t had much luck with hotels in the city, but this time was different. There is not one thing I can complain about:) We will definitely stay here again.

This hotel was perfect for our extended family (we had three rooms). It was close to bus stops and easily to get to the tourist spots we wanted to go to (the public transit is cheap and has frequent service). There was also very secure parking for hotel guests so we just left our vehicles there and used public transit. There were a lot of restaurant choices nearby. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The rooms had two double beds; we wished they were queens, but nonetheless they were clean and comfortable. Only one of the rooms had a small table; my family would have liked a table in each room. Being on Lombard Street, it was a bit noisy at times but for our family it wasn't that much of a distraction. The only amenity missing that would have been nice was to have access to a laundry room.
