This was the best stay I've ever had in a hotel. Hands down. The staff was accommodating and understanding. The room was clean and exceeded our expectations. The location was convenient for transportation, with the electric train and the underground located right outside. The breakfast was fantastic. The room service food was very good. The cleaning service for the room always knocked it out of the park. The entertainment options in the room were convenient. All-in-all, my family of 4 (two young children) had a wonderful time, and we'd be quick to come back to Munich, if for nothing more, coming to this hotel once again.

Great place to stay in Munich Ost

We had a pleasant stay. It was quiet and the service was efficient when we called and needed extra towels. The breakfast is wonderful.

We enjoyed staying here. It was right on the tram line and an easy walk to the main bus station and subway access. It was safe and the people were all very nice. We will stay here again!

Location is good for public transportation. Breakfast is great. Then newly renovated rooms on 2nd and 3rd floors are very clean and comfortable.

Spacious room with inner yard view. Very tidy functional. If it were not the room with two separate single beds, it was nicer. But I can't complain.

Great location for Munich East station, easy transport links to airport/central Munich

The hotel was very clean, breakfast was excellent. All staff were very helpful. The only issue was noise from outside, trams and trains etc. But this obviously, is outside the hotels control. We would return again.

Very good hotel. Just be aware of European style

The people at the hotel are very nice, and everything seemed to be clean. But just be aware that the beds are quite hard, as they tend to be in European hotels. Also, they don’t have sheets and blankets but the thick duvet wrapped inside a sheet. This means that are were under a thick cover no matter what season of the year it is. The AC was serviceable, but not strong enough to overcome the heat of the heavy blanket.

Comme Ci - Comme Ca

Due to Covid-19 restictions restaurant / bar service was very limited or non existing. Breakfast was served normally and it was OK. Overall impression is that a fresh up of the rooms would be welcome. Views from #102 where next to the roof. And I should have been upgraded as a GOLD member of Hotels.com. It did not take place (however I was not asking it)

Very good breakfast, close to the transport for a quick transfer to the centre.

Great location and good breakfast offering!

The location of the hotel was great, as it was just a few minutes walk to the Munich East station, which connects to many other stops for sightseeing and shopping. We enjoyed the breakfast too, with a good combination of hot and cold offering. The only thing I would feedback for improvement would be for housekeeping, as badic amenities such as toiletries, slippers and vanity kits were not provided.

Excellent hotel - perfectly situated

Good and comfortable stay

The hotel located very close to public transport. Easy to go around the town and lots of restaurants and supermarket nearby. The room is clean and well maintained. The only downside: the hotel is understaffed in the afternoon/evening, the bar&restaurant is not open after breakfast. Though it is advertised guest can order food between 13:00-21:00, no one actually there to take the order/answer the phone. Overall its really nice hotel to stay and staffs are very friendly and helpful.

Don’t recommend for travel visits.

Location is not far from Munich east station, but still there are much more choices in the city center. The room was pretty old, and nothing surprising. I checked in at about 11AM but was told my room was not ready yet I saw people checking in at the same time. Definitely choosing Novotel or other hotels next time.

Great Location

The neighbourhood of the hotel is nice, with lots of shops and restaurants within walking distance. A large train hub, Ostbanhof, is a 5 minute walk away. From there you can access both Munich public transit (which is excellent) and intercity trains to anywhere in Europe. The hotel itself was clean and comfortable.

I stayed at two other Marriott properties during our trip and was very pleased. We were not told on check in that the a/c was out in the hotel, only after I called and reported it. This is during the Euro heat wave. We were also not told on check in or check out how to get our car out of the parking garage, which delayed our check out process. The shower floor did not appear to have been cleaned. The bar/lounge area was nice. They also put a $30 euro hold on my credit card in case we used anything from the lobby convenience area. Ridiculous. The location was not good for access downtown Munich activities without a long long walk. The area was very much residential.

Non-Typical Marriott Stay

This was not a typical Marriott experience. I had to wait a long time to check in, only one person checking people in. Nobody else came from the back to help out. Then when I got into my room, I only had bath towels, no hand towels or washcloths?!? Strange. Then I went to turn on the TV and it was all garbled and would not work. Called someone to come fix it and they tried but when I got back from dinner many hours later, it was still broken. So this is not my usual experience with Marriott locations.

Loved it!

Wonderful hotel for our short layover in Munich. The hotel is located five minutes from the Munich Ost train station (which gets you directly to the airport). The hotel is newly remodeled and is in great condition. Our room was spacious and clean. Breakfast is a bit pricey (23 Euros per person) but luckily you're in a great neighborhood with plenty of bakeries and even great vegan options! We'd definitely stay here again!

Well connected, helpful staff

Good stay overall with 1 incident

We stayed for 1 night upon arrival in Munich and came back 3 days later for a 6 night stay. Halfway through our stay, the roof of the room starts leaking water from the air conditioner unit with the city under heat wave. The technician was very friendly and fixed the problem but the carpet was soaking wet. We went to the front desk to request for a room change and the manager told us that he has sent customers from 3 other rooms having similar issue to other hotel as they were fully booked. He offered for us to change our room the next day which is not acceptable to us. After we insisted he do something about it, he reluctantly gave us a room next door (which likely was for another customer who has not arrived yet) while they try to clean the carpet in our room. The manager was not friendly throughout the process and he should have offered us the room change upfront. I would expect better service from Marriott as a valued customer. We spoke to another manager the next day who apologized for the incident. Overall, our stay there has been good not considering the front desk incident.

Stayed 2 nights. The room hadn't been cleaned when we returned to it at 2.30pm /2.45pm on the second day. Left the room again shortly before 5pm and no sign of a cleaner all day. Friends of ours staying in another room had the same experience. I reported it to reception on check-out. Hope she passed it on to the relevant personnel. Not good enough for the prices charged.

Everyone was very polite and helpful. Location was fantastic.

Very happy with the service and comfort

I like everything: the cleanliness, the comfort, the location close to the Ostbahnhof (the East train station). I was especially interested in this hotel because my friends were staying that the Marriot Residence Inn, which is connected to the Courtyard. Staying at the Courtyard allowed me to avoid the high prices of the Residence Inn while staying in comfort.

Great location and hotel.

It was great. The hotel room and hotel was clean and nice. Didn’t seem much from outside but the conditions were good though the room and bathroom was a bit small. The breakfast buffet was great. The staff were generally friendly. The local restaurants and cafes in the area was great! Especially, Langolo Italian restaurant around the corner. Lively restaurants. Public transport was not too far and convenient to take into town or to the airport.

To expensive and to long waiting time for lunch, Sunday 7th October

Best part was the water taxi in the back. Good breakfast came with this room. Staff was very friendly.

The breakfast while good is absolutely massively overpriced at 23 euro per person and the price should have been told to us when we gave them our room number. I’ve never paid so much for breakfast in my life and we wouldn’t have gotten it. Other than that the hotel is great and the staff was real good other than not telling us the breakfast price and the room was excellent and clean. I’d be willing to recommend the hotel but would absolutely warn people about the breakfast

Oktoberfest Weekend

Very convenient location to main shopping areas and restaurants! My wife and I stayed here for Oktoberfest and really enjoyed it. The Ubahn has a stop right down the street from here and it took us directly across town to the festival. Friendly staff and very clean with all the amenities. Not to mention the price was about half of what other hotels in the area were charging during Oktoberfest! Would stay here again for sure!

Close to the train station to go all over Munich - S Bahn and U Bahn. Not too far away walking to city center either.

Beautiful hotel with billing issues

I found this hotel to be comfortable and beautiful. Rooms have been implacably cleaned and nicely set up. However, I have encountered a biling issue where the hotel has been charging me for the nightly room rate every day even though I paid for my hotel stay well ahead of time. I have approached the front desk a few times and have been promised for these errorneous charges to be removed. I have checked out from the hotel 3 days ago and the pending hotel charges are still reflecting on my card. I feel like this has caused my disappointment with this hotel.

The beds were fairly comfortable, just a bit soft. Staff was very courteous and helpful. Only complaint was that the system put all the deposits for our four rooms on my card without telling me.

Good location. The area behind the hotel is very nice. You can walk to the city center, take the tram No. 19 or walk to the Ostbahnhof train station where you can take the subway, local and long distance trains.

We have stayed at this hotel numerous times in the past. The hotel staff are very friendly, helpful. The hotel is very clean and the breakfast is awesome. It’s in a great location, walking distance to a train station.

The hotel is very nice. We went to a concert at the Tonhalle. It was very convenient for walking there. Nice friendly staff.

Great business oriented hotel. Internet works well and rooms and hotel and updated and clean. Conveniently located near Ostbahnhof to get anywhere. I will certainly stay here again.

Excellent Hotel! Great Location, Shiny New Inside

This is a great hotel! Location is brilliant - 10 mins walking from Munich Ostbahnhof, which has direct connections every couple minutes to the center including Marienplatz and the Hauptbahnhof(10 min train ride), and right next to a tram station too. The fixtures were brand new, the bed was super comfortable, and the staff were extremely friendly, especially one guy who checked us in and checked us out (wish I remembered his name). Absolutely recommend this hotel for a great city like Munich.

Quiet hotel outside the main city

Earlier in our trip we stayed at a hotel near the Hauptbahnhof that was far too bustling for our taste. This was the last leg of our trip, so it was nice to be in a location that didn't have beggars and had wi-fi in room. The room was appointed nicely, the bed was a little firm for our taste.

Munich is a bit expensive but will stay at this hotel again. The All American Buffet Breakfast was good. Bar staff was friendly.

First Class Hotel

Staff were most helpful with info re sightseeing, sell underground train tickets, which get you easily to wherever you might want to go from the station about 10 mins walk way.

Excellent service and breakfast buffet

Moritz working at the front desk was super-helpful in giving travelling and transportation advice. He's always friendly and very pleasant to talk to. He added a big 'plus' to our already positive experience of the hotel!

Excellent!

A truly excellent hotel. The staff are all very friendly, very knowledgable, and speak perfect English. This was one of the best hotel stays I've ever had in Europe, and the staff should all be commended for their excellent work. The room was comfortable, and the entire facility is very clean. Public restrooms were well maintained, and they even provided an excellent outside seating area with a projector for enjoying the Euro Cup, with very reasonable food and drink prices.

Nice hotel, close to the train station

The hotel is located very close to the train station and about 45 minute ride from the airport. The room was clean and comfortable and the staff friendly. The breakfast selection was very good.

Munich Jan 16

We had two good excursions to the castles and Dachau. The second being very emotional. We went to a local Bavarian restaurant and we welcomed by a group to sit with them. A thoroughly enjoyable night.

Great value

Great location . On arrival I was pleasantly surprised how close it was to train station. Staff very helpful. Room very good size. Nice bar. Would recommend to anyone. I will definitely stay at this hotel again.

Munich trip

We stayed for two days. Hotel comfortable and clean. I would of rather been in the center of old town for walking convince but overall easy to get around. Hotel staff very friendly and helpful.

Convenient place to stay

Late booking so my room price was high, but the hotel was comfortable and efficient.

Classic Marriot at the outskirt of Munich

The hotel is a classic Marriot hotel you expect: standard facilities and clean room. We chose it because it appeared to be close to the Ostbahnhof on map but it was a mistake: it is a 10 minutes walk on a dark street at night and the noise from trains can be heard throughout the day. Staff was not friendly when asked for help. Overall all, it is an expensive hotel that not worth it; maybe okay for business traveler who just looks for standard hotel to spend a night.

Nice Munich stay!

Perfect for our weekend stay! Clean, easy walk from train station and good priced! Working the air conditioning and lights were different. You had to use your room key to turn on, but that was a quick figure and was fine!

Nice modern hotel close to the train station

The hotel is 2 minutes away from the Ostbahnhof. Getting to all the tourist attractions is very easy as all trains stop at Ostbahnhof. The room is clean and the decor modern. Breakfast was delicious! The hotel has a basic fitness centre which is sufficient for a quick exercise.

Great hotel in Munich

Family of three visiting Munich from Bangalore. We got in past midnight given a delayed flight - the staff were very helpful with the directions to the hotel and the check in was very efficient. Being very close to Ostbanhof, we found it convenient to get to the hotel from the airport, getting around Munich and travelling to other places like Salzburg. Good neighbourhood, clean rooms (we asked for a quiet room), very efficient staff, surprise birthday wishes and a complimentary dessert from the manager made our stay a wonderful experience. We did not use the dining at the hotel. The staff could have pro-actively told us the pre-authorisation amount that would be charged at the time of check in - this was the only negative on the overall experience. Definitely recommend the hotel for individuals, business travellers and families.

Poor hospitality

Good hotel close to Ostbanhof. Clean rooms, good service. Free Internet access is only in the lobby. Good value for €€€.

Very nice place to stay.

Friendly staff that spoke great English and was helpful with restaurant recommendations. The hotel was clean and only a 10 minute walk from the train station. Only downside is the free wifi is only avalible in the lobby, not in your room.

Stayed for 3 night, very nice hotel, breakfast is nice but 15 EUR for normal and 23 for cooked is a bit much, so if you book the hotel try and get the rate with breakfast included. Good and fast wifi.

American style hotel Huge rooms

I spent a 6 hours sleep in this hotel. it was clean, specious and comfortable. Though, they could be more generous on quantity of in room coffee and tea

Convenient Location

The hotel is a little farther from the Munich East Rail Station than anticipated. Walking distance about 6 - 7 minutes. Room was spacious and clean; modern bathroom.

Oktoberfest

The cost of the breakfast was additional to the bill this was not pointed out and the price at 28 Euro each is high. I don't normaly eat a breakfast so if I had known I woud have skipped this one. When we checked in the receptionist said that we should bring the carparking ticket to reception and they would validate it and parking would then be free. On booking out a differeent receptionist said parking was never free and we had to pay 22 Euro. I feel that the information form the hotel was missleading and meant that non guests would be charged and that guest parking was included in the rate. Given that the cost of the room for one night is high during the Oktoberfest I do9n't feel that this hotel offered good value for money.

very friendly staff and quiet room to courtyard, would recommend because rooms to the front on busy street tramstop too, good for families etc avoid east bahnhof some problems with drunken people there but otherwise comfy use tram in front off the hotel to jet off to munich recommended. would definetly be back there.
