Good for a business trip
Stayed at this hotel on a recent trip to Shanghai. The room was very comfortable, and clean. Breakfast was good.
This is the perfect hotel to stay in Shanghai. Close to metro line 2. Unfortunately it’s getting old and certain areas require an update. But it’s a Marriott.
The reception staff at checkin and check out were exceptional and very friendly. As a visitor to China we felt very welcomed. In particular we want to mention Michael Sun (Service Manager ) and Catchy. We will definitely come back again. The hotel is a little old but very comfortable
convenient location, close to shopping areas, restaurants, tube
The location is convenient for excellent food and public transportation.
Spacious and clean room with a view. Metro station and several food options in walking distance. Very convenient late checkout (2pm). Helpful concierge to help me find my way to post office and even a Jianbing street food vendor. Only disliked that there doesn’t seem to be good noise insulation between the rooms.
dated
is becoming very dated, we did get an upgrade tho
a
Rooms are a little old. Other than, hotel is clean, with good service and a good location.
Nice area
i pay breakfast 106 Rmb it's not worth i pay 106 rmb for free bothersome too old even towel too old
Great customer approach!!!
Very good stay. Customer approach is great!!!
Overall is okay. Breakfast has pretty good selection. Some of the facilities are old not function well. Servie is helpful accommodate our requests.
I recommend it
Great hotel to stay in. The rooms are a bit dated but comfortable. Shopping and restaurants nearby.
Wonderful hotel, nice staff , close to all attractions,
Good and convenient location
Overall was great! The location very good and convenient. shopping mall (Century link) is just nearby. Walking distance to HuangPu river and LuJiaZui.
Near to mall and metro station.
Ability to get by without knowing Mandarin Nothing to do with the hotel but some guests on my floor thought it was ok to have their kids running up and down the hall late at night.
Great breakfast
I love the location!
Dramatically great hotel. We will stay here each time we return to Shanghai.
okay but not the best
Stayed here 4 nights, generally was okay, bed was very comfy, breakfast was okay, cleanliness also good, but there was this unpleasant smell on our floor of old damp carpets, there was signs of water leakage on the walls. But overall good value for money.
Staff was very welcoming and the hotel was very clean and comfortable. I enjoyed the breakfast options and the executive lounge was an unexpected treat.
A little dated.
The Chinese food in the morning buffet is too salty to eat.
An out dated property that requires renovation. The lobby lounge service is unfriendly.
Clean room and friendly staffs.
Marriott Courtyard Pudong
Good location and good hotel services.
Kinda old
The hotel appears to be quite old, and the room door always slam with loud sounds each time it opens.. so I can hear banging throughout almost the whole day.. only the location is goods
It is located in the very convenient place.
The hotel is super convenient to the Metro line 2 connecting to the airports and train stations easily. Even the ground routes to the rest of Shanghai are convenient and quick as well, so taxis and rideshares are fast. The area has a ton of restaurants and delivery service is easy. If you like walking or jogging, walk up Century Ave to the park at the Science Museum, or a little further to Century Park. Or just take one subway stop. Lujiazui and the riverfront is close too, in the other direction The hotel itself was clean and the bed and room comfortable. Great staff and the buffet breakfast was good. I lived in Shanghai for over ten years, so I know the city well, and chose this for my needs on my return visit. If you like nightlife, you might chose another part of the city in Puxi (though there are bars nearby here), but really with Didi rideshare, it's no big deal getting back. If you want a solid and easy stay in Shanghai with great Metro access, the Courtyard can't be beat.
Great place to stay - lots of decent places to eat around the area and subway 8 -10 mins walk away. All things considered a great experience
Better find other place.
Poor service. Lack of language skill of staffs. Old room condition, worse maintenance. Worst hotel in China for my entire experience.
Good place.
Convenient, rooms are comfortable, just that you can't control the temp (as usual for the area).
Liked - Very good location / Vicinity of Subway Stations / Many Good Restaurants around / Most of the Tourist attractions are nearby / Very good Breakfast Spread / Helping attitude of the Hotel Staff Didn't like - Poor understanding of English language by the Hotel Staff
Friendly and helpful staff
Near a lot of ammenties and staff are friendly. But need to change the lightings.
This property was excellent. The breakfast was a great and executive lounge terrific! Staff were very friendly and responsive. Great location to get around many places. Great price. Will stay again when I go back.
We ended up registered for the Executive Lounge access. The staff there was very friendly and attentive.
Clean, great location and personable staff, sign in went perfect
The rooms are not that great
Very nice room. Comfortable bed. Good breakfast.
Only stayed for one night transiting to Australia but I was very happy with the stay here. The room was really nice , great linen and super comfy bed. Staff really helpful and it’s close to the Shanghai super buildings.

Property has a great location. All the staff were very friendly and professional.
Everything was great, except for the wifi network, which was unreliable to the point of not working for even basic tasks.
Helpful staff, No complaints.
All the staff were friendly and looked out for you. I had left items in my room after checkout and it was very easy to call them and check to see if they had them. The rooms are spacious, and have what you’ed expect from a hotel. I feel like it’s a little bit out of the way from much of the more famous attractions, but for someone who would rather pay less and travel by subway a little further, it was Ideal.
Beautiful hotel in a very busy location. Only complaints were lack of amenities and the very tiny rooms, which is true all over China. Two twin beds per room. They don't have families of 7 here, so even with 2 rooms, there wasn't close to enough space. Really no TV to speak of other than propaganda and internet is blocked in China. Even so, these are complaints about China, not this hotel. The hotel was close to the subway, so very convenient.
Great hotel in great location. Bad bed
Really need to upgrade the beds. My bed was like sleeping on a sheet over plywood. Awful. Great spot near the Century Avenue metro and Century Link mall
Quite a pleasant experience.
Relaxing with great location!
Excellent amenities and service. Bed was so comfortable! Rooms are spacious and hotel smells wonderful, too.Location is very close to metro stop in mall one block away.
Convenient location, near the Metro. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Staff were very friendly.
The employees were not comforting on breakfast and dining area.
Good location with quite a few local eateries, a shopping mall, a local transit station close by. Not much sight seeing but definitely suitable especially if you need to be around for a short stay.
Great hotel with fabulous breakfast buffet. Great location. This is our go to place every time we are in Shanghai!
Better than U.S. Courtyard, imo. Well located in commercial section of Pudong. Nice lobby and facility. Typical Marriott in China experience....bland but not offensive. Probably best for biz stay.
We were only there for less then three days, as part of our 3 weeks long vacation. However, these three days were the best of all. Because of many positive experience...from the nice staffs, to the idea location and the amenities offered by the hotel. There is one staff I have to mention here...he's name is Oscar Zhao. He is the bell boy. We interacted daily with him from opening the door for us to sending an express package for us. All was fulfilled perfectly. All the other bell boys were excellent too, however, we had the mostly positive experience with Mr. Zhao. I plan on writing a spacial thank you note to him and the hotel.
Overall the hotel is good. It is a bit older and better to get a room on the upper floor. The location is great, plenty of restaurants in the neighbourhood and taxis and subway station close by.The breakfast buffet is good.
Comfortable Hotel
Modern room, comfortable and correct amount of luminous. Excellent and helpful services.
A good stay
Helpful front desk
wonderful trip!
Highly recommended
Great hotel, delicious breakfast, friendly staff and great location
GREAT location for shopping!
I travel to China at least twice a year. I always want to stay here for the great location, convenience to the metro, and the fabulous breakfast buffet.
Amazing hotel
The staff are so personal and inclusive. The room are clean and large. I only book at this hotel for my last 4 visits to Shanghai. However, on my first visit, we stayed at another hotel and it was a mistake. I am so happy we found Courtyard by Marriott.
Dated Hotel but still very nice
Decent hotel, a bit dated but still good. Booked it mainly because it had a gym, which is in good condition.
Value for money
A nice hotel close to the heart of city centre with reasonable price, very nice staff, close to 3 major subway lines. Would be nicer if they have sauna and steam facilities.
Good hotel, handy location and lovely staff
All staff are very professional and friendly. Next door’s people were too noisy at the 1st night in the so had to request for a room change, front desk staff were happy to assist. Hotel location is handy, walkable distance to the nearest subway station and shopping malls. Overall the experience was excellent, will stay next time.
Executive Lounge/Floor
Highly recommend the upgrade to the executive level. Rooms are very nice and comfortable, the lounge is well staffed and stocked, and the friendliness of the staff is excellent...especially in the AM for breakfast where Mary Ma is fantastic...highly recommended.
close to metro, bus stop, restaurants.
Good staffs at the 16th floor executive lounge , friendly doorman: bell captain, reception
NA
very good hotel, centrict of the.city, easy to access.
Comfortable and friendly Good breakfast with variety of choices
So disappointed of Front Desk staff Manager (Male)
We are so disappointed the service of Front Desk Manager (Male) when we checked in on Oct 27 around 5:00PM, his attitude is so worst, impolite and spoke louder w/us in the lobby. that I never met. I mentioned that I reserved 2 Premier Room (2 x single bed must + BF)already, he replied us it is impossible for our reservation to reserve 2 x single bed, no single bed now just only "King size bed", he said he cannot do anything/arrangement as requested. He said he can arrange 2 x standard room (w/2 x single bed) to us, I said: the room rate is different, you paid me the balance? He said it is impossible. From 5:00pm argued to almost 40 minutes, he insisted no new arrangement, nothing to be confirmed us, because of there is no 2 x single bed, he also said no record in system either on Expedia, we called your Expedia service line but in vain, no staff to pick up call, we still waiting for the arrangement ...., the Front Desk Manager (male) insisted nothing to do with us. I don't know why he is so insisted & do not want to solve the problem. he made to down grade our room to Standard room, I requested 3 x standard room is OK or upgrade to us, but he insisted & spoke loudly to said "NO" & "CANNOT". ( 2 standard room only). I told him I wanted to talk to yr Mgr, he said I am the Mgr here. Fortunately, another Front Desk Manager (Lady - Gina), she handled w/us and solved our problem smoothly, She is the best Manager here. Appreciate her to help for our stay.
great place
Front desk personnel and concierge spoke very little english. Hard to get information or answers to questions. Breakfast outstanding.
Room for improvement
We stayed over one night at the Courtyard . Hotel is well located in Pudong, close to metro station. The staff was attentive and well-meaning. The breakfast buffet was fine. Our room however could have been larger and more functional. There was also a suffocating smell when we entered. We have seen much better.
Friendly Staff - Awesome location
Staff were very friendly. Location was excellent next to metro station and a huge food court.
Alright
Not close enough to the metro station. Room is pretty old and dull. Need reburbishment No stationary in room Air conditioning not strong enough even placed at high on low temperature
Nice hotel but
Nice hotel but need about 10 min walk to subway station.
Nice interior design
I pick the premier room for my stay this time, i really like the partition closure between the the bed & restroom, it makes the space more cosy & tidiness! But for the cleaniness of the bed sheet & towel is a bit disappointed! Also the internet is very bad for business use!
Comfortable stay for a reasonable price.
Nice and comfortable.
It's clean, but that's about it
I wanted to like this hotel and everything was great until we tried to sleep. The walls are so thin and every time someone next door used the water it made such a loud noise we couldn't sleep. That was the deal breaker. Taxi's are nearly impossible to get during busy times even using the Chinese taxi app. So plan ahead. Don't wait until the last minute to order one. The staff was professional. The facility clean. Breakfast was edible. Nothing special, but quite ok. Lots of food places nearby. For the price we will stay elsewhere next time in a different neighborhood. Internet was better than most.
Good hotel. More selection for breakfast buffet would be good bit oberall a very nice and very clran hotel
Walking distance from Century Avenue subway station - so the location is quite convenient. The hotel is decent and clean. The only problem was noise outside - I was in a room on 5th floor, low air- compressor kind of noise was heard all the time.
Good hotel with reasonable price, nice breakfast.
It is a great place to stay, convenience to go anywhere by MRT- 5 mins walk, just two stops to Nanjing Dong Road. Good services, with good quality breakfast. Good for business people especially for viewing exhibition purposes.
Great location, but not for me...
I know this is a Courtyard and not a full service Marriott, that being said service was great and staff was very friendly and helpful. Rooms are a bit dated, the bed extremely hard and uncomfortable and the room smelled awful. This is not to mention that the "King sized" bed was two twin mattresses put together. Probably the worst night's sleep I had on this trip. Additionally, its very difficult for Orbitz teams to communicate with the local hotel so we were unable to resolve a request.
Great location and accommodations!
Hotel room was more spacious than expected. Convenient to the Shanghai Metro and a nice 30 min walk to the World Financials center. Room was clean and smoke free, loved the water pressure in the shower, appreciated the complimentary daily bottled water, and loved the morning breakfast.
Great location and excellent service
Great location, easy access to Century Ave metro station which is an intersection of 3 lines. Was upgraded to a premier room which was very nice. Would stay again.
Very nice hotel
I stay at this Marriott property a few times per year. I like the Executive Lounge and staff. A special thanks to Mary Wu, she is wonderful. The hotel overall is a bit dated, but it is a very clean property. Great location walking distance to a large food court. Recommended for sure!
First time staying and really liked it.
Not deserving of Marriott branding. Dirty, run down reception area.
Pudong gem
A beautiful property in a sort of desolate portion of Shanghai. Big rooms with bathtubs, good food, nice gym and pool, excellent price. Surprisingly good value.
Good location & good stay
Near to public transport. Around 10mins walk to metro station. Staffs was helpful. Breakfast was good too. As for room, except lightning not so good overall was ok. Clean bathroom and comfortable bed. :)
everything is great
Convenient, clean, and comfortable.
This was the first time that I stayed at this facility. I was favorably impressed. It is clean and very quiet and the room was large and very comfortable. There is also a very good breakfast buffet and it provides convenient access to both recreational activities and a variety of restaurants and is not too far from the Maglev station (taxi at about 30rmb)
10mins walk to Line 2 andHeating not that great
Great location but around there you will find things very local so no tourist attractions, but 10mins walk to Line 2 Metro. Regarding the heating in the room was not that great so you do not feel that warm in winter.
Decent hotel, convenient location, worth of the price
Pretty Hotel
Pretty good. Have a good rest and got delicious food.
Hostess was either clueless or their system was not corresponding with the Hotels.com system. I booked a Premier room with Breakfast and they gave me a regular room with no breakfast. I didn't realize till I checked in a couple hours later since I booked 3 different hotels in 3 different parts of Asia I didn't remember at the time. By the time I realized I was not about to waste time to change rooms since I was only there for barely 2 days, 1 night. Also the hostess checked my reservation and told me "this is how much you owe for the room" and I was like "...I already paid for the room". So she double checked her system and was like "o yea you did pay already. You don't owe anything". Either they need to re train their staff or update their system better.
This downtown high rise hotel is a great facility and much more than you may expect from a Courtyard hotel.
Enjoyed my stay, unfortunately communication wasn't easy, needed translation app. Hotel needs renovation, its not morden. Metro is near by,

Excellent stay and I wish to stay again.
Hotel manager (I am assuming he is) gave me an extra bed upgrade while he know we have 3 people stayed but only 2 twin beds. Lots of good resaurants around and few minutes walking distance to the train station.
