STAFF WAS GREAT!!!!
Great stay
The hotel was very nice inside, the rooms were nice and clean the only thing is outside of the hotel and the area around felt unsafe due to homelessness and people that seemed to be on drugs.
The hotel is good! The staff are friendly and helpul…especially Chris!!
Friendly and Kind
Had phenomenal service inside the hotel and experienced the most friendliest people on the street as we walked down to Union Square. Everyone greeted us kindly and wished us Happy New Year all week. The Union Square/Tenderloin areas offer the most delicious food and friendliest people.
My hotel room was robbed of mine and my friends belongings while we were sleeping
The stay was great. Hotel employees were quick with smiles and service, walking into the lobby off the street was pleasant. Transportation was easy and available. The only thing I wouldn’t rate a 5 star for is the street it is on. It’s not terrible but not great either.

Nice visit.
Remodeling. Big dumpster outside. Appears that there are city ambassadors outside hotels keeping an eye on neighborhood. Small rooms but comfy. Staff very helpful and friendly. Cute cafe inside. Would definitely stay again. Close proximity to Union Square.
The hotel was under construction during my stay. This hotel was the worst choice I will never recommend it to anyone nor will I use Expedia in the future.
A lot of renovations going on, was made to go down through the construction which had wet paint and step and trip hazards, was noisy in the evening and street outside of the hotel stunk of human urine.
The hotel is great and the staff super attentive and helpful. The area is a lil on the rougher side of town but not bad they had security at the door at night so I felt safer.
Perfect place to stay after a concert at Oracle Park
Our stay was ok. Was really inconvenient that one of the elevators were not working. They also were doing construction on an upper floor so the active elevator was in use to support the renovation project. This made elevator usage fairly difficult. In addition the rooms were really cramped and small. Was it a terrible experience, no. Would I stay there again, no.
The hotel itself was nice facility. The rooms were on the smaller size, but did the trick for a place to stay. The customer service by the front desk was poor. Just wanted to check us in fast and be done with us, even though there was no one else at that time. Called the day before to ask about my dog staying with me, and got told one price, then when I arrived the front desk told me a different price. When I tried talking to them about it, the front desk agent didn’t even try discussing it with me and rushed me through the process. Valet parking only, no other option for parking. Didn’t realize this until I arrived.
Never Again
We stayed in room 307 at this property and my children woke up with bites. After the 2nd day we finally found the source….Bed Bugs. Absolutely disgusting. The manger was great to work with and refunded two of our four nights. We feel we should have received a full refund. This ruined our vacation and has created a nightmare for us in making sure we didn’t bring anything home with us.
The property was going through a remodel. The lobby was really noisy and busy. The property is very very small. Pictures make it look a lot bigger. The rooms were clean. But they are outdated. The bathrooms (specially shower) needs to be gutted and redone. The area is very dirty and according to all of the Uber drivers, not safe at night. On Saturday, it was very noisy outside. Made it difficult to sleep. The staff was amazing. So friendly and helpful. My room was cleaned every night, which made it nice when we came back every evening to come back to clean sheets and clean towels.
Very small rooms and pathetic view
Staff was very nice and polite and helpful
San Francisco - SF Giants get away
Had a pleasant check-in Fabulous young lady checking us in. Area is starting to get questionable but a very nice older hotel. Used Uber they were fabulous all the times we used them. Getting to and from the game.
Bed sheets and comforter had a very very bad odor like pee. Staff took two hours to even provide a different set at 1Am Front crew Anna was horrible
Do not recommend
The hotel is centrally located but the street is filled with homeless people and extremely dirty. The property looks shabby and old. The service is not up to the mark as well. No refill of bottled water. Will not recommend this property at the price they are charging. Can definitely get better deals.
The location of this hotel was perfect right in the middle of downtown; tons of food spots, shopping stores, and convenient to bars for a good night. Car is not needed. Walking is perfect.
Disappointing level of service and cleanliness.
I paid for a king bed room through hotels.com prior to my arrival. Upon check-in, I was informed that only a standard queen room was available. Despite this downgrade, no adjustment to the price was offered, and the room provided was notably small and dirty. The toilet became clogged around 10pm. Despite attempting to contact the front desk, I received no response. When I went to the lobby, it took over 5 minutes for an employee to assist me. Unfortunately, they informed me no plungers were available and suggested holding down the toilet lever to help it flush, which instead caused an overflow that I had to clean up myself. By morning, the toilet remained clogged. Given this unacceptable experience, I promptly checked out. To add to the substandard accommodations I received the $100 incidental fee has yet to be reimbursed. The process to cancel this transaction should be straightforward for the hotel staff.
Very happy British family
Hotel lived up to what wee hope for and expected. Would recommend this hotel to other travellers.
Very small rooms, A/c was barely felt, even smaller restrooms, no shuttle service offered, front desk was not aware of their surroundings and did not know what to recommend.
Can’t say enough good things about the staff at this property. Kind and helpful, they really made our stay feel special. Thanks so much!
This hotel is very well located, is near union square and the trolly. The area at night dies down and can be a little scary to walk alone. The room was very clean and nice, but space is very limited if you book a double bed room. So keep that in mind for people traveling with big or multiple suitcases.
Nice stay super close to union square
Room was very small and concrete. Kinda had a basement feel. BUT the staff were amazing and the hotel is very nice. Walked to Union Square and food all around. I would stay again for sure.
Lots of transients a bit scary
Be prepared for a $83 valet per day! Tiny bathroom, terrible shower!
Reasonable hotel for the price. Older building that is clean but without the charm of old classic hotels. Staff service was good. The area around the hotel needs to be cleaned up as there are many homeless folks walking around.
Nice room and staff
I really enjoyed my time and I hope that I can stay at a Marriot again in the near future.
Vultures Listening Experience
I was very skeptical with all the negative reviews; however, I've always had my trust in Marriott, especially Courtyard. My stay exceeded my expectations, my only complaint is that the walls are thin and you may hear other guests. I did not hear any guests, but I realized I could hear my group very well as I left the room and it worried me. I would definitely stay here again!
Large homeless population in this district
efficient check-in
The stay was great. The parking was horrible.
Comfortable
Area was a bit sketchy
I recommend getting this hotel it was clean
The bathrooms are tiny but it is what it is. Mine had a weird gross food smell. Wouldn’t go away.
Lots of poop
The hotel was clean and the location is not great. Lots of poop on the street abd the neighbooring hotel had lots of cops 50% of the time were there. Very insecure at night. Staff was friendly but the location was horrible.
Housekeeping was amazing
Grate room.bad velet service
Had to wait over 50 minutes from request time to get my car.
Staff at check in was awesome!
Good location for a weekend trip!
Hotel was nice and in a good location where you can walk to some restaurants and coffee shops. For any other tourist attractions you need to catch public transit or Uber/Lyft. The only “negative” aspect of our stay was that the bathtub would clogged. Front desk was nice and allowed us to check in early and store our luggage for a few hours after we checked out.
Friendly and efficient staff, definitely would stay here again!
The location of this property is not ideal. The area is very rough. Sirens drove past regularly and kept us up at night. The rooms are on the smaller side. We had 2 rooms both with double beds. The bathrooms are tiny with no counter space. They were also dirty and looked worn. Due to the area it smelled immediately after steeping out onto the sidewalk. Would not recommend and the surrounding area isn’t very safe.
Ice machine was out
I enjoyed my stay and the staff was friendly. Would recommend to friends that want to stay in downtown San Francisco. Easy to walk to great food and shopping.
Small bathroom
This hotel was very clean and had great service.
Stranger entered my room
Someone walked into my room at 9 am and woke me up even with the DND sign in the door. Hotel staff did not much care when I mentioned it. Super unprofessional and did not make me feel comfortable there.
No info given of nearby Restaurant, the hotel Restaurant was closed the entire time there. No, information given for WiFi, WiFi available was unsecured my Norton security would not allow me to use the unsecured WiFi. Our stay was very nice, clean room, we had a beautiful view of the city.
Terrific
Room was like a prison cell no windows no views parking was very expensive front desk very slow bathroom has mildew very weird shower drain all water going out of shower stall tv vey old pictures very dull
Great people working there.
The place itself was nice. The immediate surrounding area was getto.
Hotel was nice, room was very small but clean. Car valet service was good and well organized with off site parking … but $70 per day The area was actually The Tenderloin and not really in the nicer area around union sq. It’s not bad at all but need to be aware of your surroundings especially at night.
Area is not safe. Homeless people around
The property was pretty easy to get to considering that it’s in San Francisco. But when you first walk into the property, it’s very nice looking clean. The staff is extremely friendly and nice. The rooms are really nice clean. They smelled great. We had a great view of San Francisco. The only downside is that the bathroom is really small so it’s kind of hard to move around and get dressed in but that’s the only downside other than that this property is really great.
I made a reservation at Club Wyndham Canterbury, San Francisco. When arriving to the hotel, I was informed it was overbooked and ended up moving to another hotel not of my choice.
Staff all around are amazing
Loved my stay here! The room was the perfect size for a solo traveler! The only thing that would have made my stay even better would be an indoor pool, haha!
The homeless population in the surrounding neighborhood is many. The hotel itself is nice. There are several good Thai restaurants within a block or two.
Nothing
Would like to compliment James for his great service! Expedia secretly booked lower floor for me without informing me, but James went the extra mile to give me an upper floor room.
Loved all of the tech hook-ups and lighting options in the room. Nice contemporary decor and new clean items. My coffee tray had not been replenished, though so we only had one coffee cup. Not a huge issue. It is 3 blocks from Union Square and in my opinion should not have Union Square in their title. Not a great neighborhood for walking. Kinda false advertising. Massive tourism charges in addition to the room price. We live in CA but San Fran is starting to price themselves out of the market - especially with all the extra folks living on the streets now.
I was placed in a basement room with a window on an air shaft that did not open. Friday night there was a loud screaming fight and loud music in the hall or adjoining room until 3:00 am. The maid left me one leaking coffee cup the last night. Oh, I forgot the rubber toasted bagel for $7.00 plus tax!
Location was close to the venue.
No breakfast all three days. Times changed for it and a large family one day took the staffs time snd told us weight just for toast would be twenty min. Sat wax to open at seven and didn’t. We left for airport without even coffee.
Everything was excellent
We loved it. We checked in early and they said our room was ready
Good
Friendly staff, comfortable stay
Situated in a convenient location for a visit to Union Square. The room was clean, comfortable with maybe the exception of the bathroom which was pretty small. Showering no problem, but no space to put toothbrush, toothpaste, brush and other amenities except over the toilet. Customer service was excellent, very nice employees from valet to front desk to cleaning service. Very friendly across the board.
Too many homeless hang out the hotel and area. Dirty and unsafe. After I checked out, the hotel sent an invoice and tried to charge me for beverage, which I didn’t purchase. Staff is friendly overall.
Tiny bathroom but otherwise chill and relax
Bathroom is tiny. No place to even put your clean clothes on for after you shower. The sink is also tiny. Barely enough room for my toiletries
Quick check in, clean room
$70 parking!!!
Nice place but they fail to tell you about the $70 parking till it’s too late and you have to commit to this robbery! And we paid an upgrade to look out into somebody else’s apartment. They call it a “corner Cityview”
the worst Courtyard ever stayed. tiny room with tiny bathroom, a underwear from nowhere found under the mattress, wobbling toilet seat emitting stinky smell. no hair dryer. nice staff willing to help and changed another room for us. maybe we booked via Expedia so Courtyard gave us the poorest room?
First time in San Francisco!
My room was very clean and loved all the paintings and color styles in the room. The staff was very friendly as well. I loved that they had a Starbucks in the lounge area. The bed was very comfortable and I had a nice stay.
Property nice , be aware of the homeless population in San Francisco.
Their "lower level" was the basement, and their was noise all night. The daytime staff was really empathetic and helpful. It was also confusing that there are multiple "Marriott Union Square" properties, so we ended up at the wrong address first. Seems like that happens incessantly if the staff reaction was any judge. I don't think I would stay here again- it's not really on Union Square, and you feel like you're in the armpit of the City.
Not crazy about its location but otherwise good
Great
We had nice clean comfortable room. We are bigger people and it was a little hard navigating the small bathroom.
Nice but small
Check in was a breeze, room was nice but very small. The beds were much smaller than expected. Parking is contracted through a 3rd party and they’re obscenely expensive. They were also 20 mins late bringing us our car (6:15 AM was the promised time) Staff was friendly and helpful, though.
Very friendly staff, and very clean rooms!
no towel hooks, no bathroom fan, overpriced parking
Great Value for Price
Great hotel in a good location for business travelers. SF can be quite expensive. This place offered convenience at a great price.
All good
The Front desk charged me for Room service that I never used and I’m still waiting for the reversal of that and the deposit that they charged. I didn’t have a good experience when I was checking out.
Hotel was overall great. Staff was a bit unpleasant. Will be traveling again to SF. Will not revisit this property again.
The rooms were very clean. The only issue was that the bathroom wasn't private. It had a sliding door. If you're someone sharing a room with another person and require complete bathroom privacy, this will definitely be an issue.
na
Filipino staff.
Great accommodations for The Eagles Concert!
Great stay and excellent staff! We appreciated the upgrade. View from our room was excellent! Thanks for making our stay a great one!
Staff in general was helpful but not the friendliest. Valet parking was the not the best, they seemed annoyed about always needing to get our car. Room is clean but walls are a bit thin where you can hear people do it. Double queen bed room and bathroom are smaller than normal but its enough, bathroom door doesn't have a lock. Would say that this place is good for short stays (1-3 nights).
very nice place no issues at all while staying there

Everyone was so friendly. Hotel room was spotless and comfortable. Convenient location to tourist areas. I would stay again and recommend to friends.
