My 2 friends and I loved staying here. The hotel is beautiful and is right in the middle of everything in Gaslamp. The only thing I will say is the my hotel room did not have a bathroom door & my 2 guests and I were very uncomfortable having to share a bathroom like that. We also got woken up by security at 3:30am claiming we had a noise complaint when we were already asleep but the security guard kept claiming it was us. That was incredibly rude & inappropriately from the securities part. Besides that the staff at valet & check in made everything incredibly smooth & easy.

Nice hotel, nice rooms. Just a walk down to the gaslamp. A lot of homeless at night unfortunately but they do keep the doors locked which makes you feel super safe. We enjoyed our stay!

The building is nice, the food was good!

The hotel is nice, the room was clean but not detail, the bathroom sink too small, there is no complementary water, the food is very good

Staff was nice but had a bit of a attitude while trying to be fake nice , the parking was extremely horrible , thy offer $65 valet parking , we parked in another parking structure also $40 a night and we had to walk with our luggage’s , bags , other items which was very inconvenient and a lot of homeless people around , the room got cold and the central heater did not work so the room was cold at night , the shower stayed cold and no warm water . It was overall not a great experience at this hotel, the location to gaslamp was convenient but that’s the only thing I can say I enjoyed

The overall hotel was ok. The bed and sofa bed along with pillows were horrific. We couldn’t get a nights of sleep because of the constant tossing and turning. The beds were so springy that you feel like you’re lying on top of metal springs. Pillows had no supports….was a restless night

Don’t Hesitate!

Such a special and historic building! Rooms are spacious and well appointed. Loved the gym and the vault conference room!! Breakfast was a terrific deal. Pool table also fun. Perfect location. Used spotHero to find a great deal on an in/out parking close by.

The hotel is well located. The room is very comfortable. But it doesn't have parking and they don't have enough staff to clean the room.

Gorgeous downtown historic location

Beautifully preserved historic building right in downtown San Diego. The architecture in the lobby is stunning. Great location, great service. Parking is limited unless you are willing to pay $65 for valet.

Super friendly & super clean

Attractive historical downtown hotel conveniently located within walking distance of most of the Gaslamp district. Valet parking was pricey but convenient. Staff was courteous and the rooms were clean, although small. Overall, very satisfying experience.

Hotel was beautiful and in a good location but the hotel doesn't have parking and they will charge you $65 each night for valet parking! This is too high and we didn't expect that. In the hallway in 4th floor (where we had room) we saw a dead cockroach! and some hair in our towels and in bath top and around sink. In general cleanliness was not too bad. but I don't think I would come back again.

Lovely staff and facility. They take hospitality to a new level. I enjoyed every minute of my stay enjoying Christmas with my family who traveled in from the east coast for a holiday work event. My trip and experience was unforgettable.

The property was excellent except that they forgot my gift . Only received my gift after I filled out the survey.

Shower was a little dirty. Hair in it. Staff were amazing. Room was clean. Bed was comfortable. Area surrounding the hotel was dirty.

Beautiful hotel situated next to everything you want to do

Check-in was quick and staff made us feel special. The room was spacious, clean and quiet. We also liked the location and everything was in walking distance.

excellent hotel

I appreciate that free bottled water is offered at the front desk. However, on one occasion, I was unable to receive one as the front desk mentioned they had run out of water. It would be great if the supply could be managed more effectively to ensure availability throughout the day.

Called early in the day was told room was ready when we arrived was told not ready then switched rooms and that room smelled musty/ moldy was going to cancel hotel but area had increased drastically finally got another room but would not come back to this hotel.

The place is beautiful. Had an old classic look. The rooms are nice, standard, clean with a good view. They don’t come around and clean everyday, maybe they’re being green? I didn’t mind this. It’s in a very walkable area, next to house of blues. And also next to the 5th Avenue train station — which had many questionable characters. Lots of people talking to themselves and looked like they had not showered in a while.

Convenient location is close to everything. Clean and spacious rooms. Overall, a good quality for the price. I would stay here again.

So everything was nice expect the fact that I order room service breakfast and that included a fresh squeezed orange juice. This was not fresh squeezed at all it smelled like Minute Maid commercial orange juice.

The homeless population in downtown SD is noticeable, but benign for the most part. The "convenience taxis" electric bicycle transports are quite expensive. Buyer beware.

Everyone friendly, hotel well kept, clean, great lobby area. Would have enjoyed a cappuccino and a pastry during the evening but was not available. Perhaps next time ;)

First off the property has a foul smell. The A/C doesn’t work and i dealt with a rude person at the front desk

This hotel is situated in a beautiful building from 1926. The rooms are clean spacious and comfortable. The location is very central, right in the middle of downtown's major attractions.

The hotel was gorgeous! The room and bathroom very comfortable with surprisingly bigger than normal size. The hotel is very clean with a beautiful architecture.The staff very courteous and welcoming. I strongly recommend this hotel. We will definitely be coming back!

Very expensive, the system is designed to take your money. Bell boys - inconsistent. Front desk- very good. Hotel- beautiful interior. The hotel itself appeared clean. The carpet had to be dirty. The whole city (sidewalks) smells like urine so when people walk into their hotel room….

Downtown Gaslamp, location is great for walking to restaurants, Petco Park, waterfront. A little sketchy in this area but nothing I wasn’t used to. Tony at the front desk is an all-star! Nick at the bar needs to find a different employer, worst attitude I’ve ever experienced within a hotel! My party of 6 and I left the hotel bar and took our business down the street! He needs to be checked! Won’t return so long as he is employed there

The property was beautiful. I thought the price of valet was a bit excessive but overall a wonderful stay.

Great location, right in the Gaslamp Quarter. The only form of parking is valet. The valet staff was nice and courteous. However, we were disappointed that they were unable to help us with our luggage as there were not enough bellman carts. This made our check-in process cumbersome and we ended up having to carry several heavy bags ourselves. Despite this issue, the rest of our stay was pleasant.

The staff at this hotel are the stars, especially Nick at the bar. It is conveniently located downtown, but the area is a little sketchy, which is not the fault of the hotel.

Located close to downtown it’s easy to get around however it’s very noisy between 11pm and 2am and not a great choice if you want to sleep.

There was a cockroach in my room and one of the comforter on the bed had blood stains.

I had a wonderful stay at Courtyard San Diego Downtown. My room was well cleaned everyday, food service was great and Nick, the bartender, was awesome! The food at the hotel was great as well.
