Location near regional train. But at least 40mims or more away. Plus-- unforseen public worker strike with transportation. No way to around downtown. But area had nice restaurant . I truly recommend
Just about everything is fantastic. Staff, organized, great service, facilities, room… One suggestion which is difficult to remedy chose a room east facing. West facing has a very incredible amount of busy traffic including sirens.
Excellent
Good family stay
The hotel was clean and relatively well maintained. The staff were very friendly and helpful and professional. We had a great view over the park and St Peter's Chathedral Dome. The location is about 10-15min from the Vatican and about 25 from the other landmarks.
We stayed 1 night @ the Courtyard by Marriott, Rome Central park. The hotel was very clean and orderly. The staff was very helpful when we arrived. There's a paid parking lot right across the street in front of the hotel. Parking isn't always available at hotels, so if you have a rental car, make sure the hotel you stay at has parking! Our room and bathroom were very clean. The bathroom was more like an "American" bathroom, which is a nice break from the norm in Italy. We had dinner and breakfast in the restaurant. The food and drinks were decent. The breakfast was a bit overpriced. Most of the higher end hotels we stayed at had very nice breakfasts included - no extra charge. We would definitely stay here again.
Great Stay!
Very Clean and updated… enjoyed our stay..Would definitely stay again! The Staff was amazingly helpful and kind.. Kudos to Mr. Desantis
It is a Marriott In nice hotel The only inconvenience is far from downtown Rome Second time to stay
Excelente servicio gracias
It was clean. Friendly helpful staff. Nice view. Wish there were more convenient transportation options to central Rome.
Excellent customer service and friendly staff. The restaurant had a variety of options including vegan and everyone was so friendly and helpful.
It was just one night but the places is very clean the staff very friendly, the restaurant in the property was nice the food was good and good service.
The hotel was very clean. The front desk staff very friendly. Excellent breakfast.
Staff was very nice and accommodating. Most of the staff spoke great English. Bar tenders in lounge were fantastic. Clean rooms. 20 min Uber to central Rome.
Positives: large room, 2 double beds (very comfy), clean, wonderful view, close to a large green area, nice staff at the reception. Negatives: very, very small bathroom. The fridge had only two tiny bottles of water, not enough for one full glass. I ordered room service one evening (we came too late and too tired from a day trip) and the Carbonara pasta tasted awful, it gave me food poisoning...In the end, they did not charge me for it (although I did not ask for any discount or anything else), after telling me for a couple of days that they still had to charge me. They have a restaurant in the hotel that is not good. I did not like their food, at all, not even their breakfast. Every morning we woke up to the sound of hammering and power tools, as they were fixing something in the hotel near our room. All in all, an average hotel, very expensive for what they offer.
Too far from downtown
Staff slightly lacked sercive-flexibility, such as ordering a taxi in 10 minutes. Insisted on us ringing again 5 minutes prior. Also denied ringing a taxi when called another day, ask for us to come down and then they’d book, eneb though we were going to be down within 5 minutes.
Great property very close to all services. 5 min walking distance to gemelli hospital and metro.
It was too far from town.
pleased with our stay
The hotel was a little far from city center, which we didn’t really know. The staff was wonderful, but the hotel could use a little spruce up. Breakfast needs to be changed up, everyday everything was the same. Need a different food
Property was clean, great customer service
area was way too quite no shopping area or deli
All good at the market was very expensive.
Transportation wasn't all that good. Shuttle service would have been great as this hotel is away from everything
Staff were very helpful
Staff was pleasant and professional.
Some staff members were challenging when asking for service especially when i had my breakfast buffet. Location is incovenient in a neighborhood next to a hospital, continuesly hearing the ambulance siren, too far from Rome center around 35 to 50.00 euros each way. Do not do it.
Great hotel, clean and comfortable.
Excellent hotel, but far
Actually it's an excellent hotel, except its location. Quite far from tourist attractions, restaurants. You have to take train to the nearest subway station. Big taxi/Uber cost €.25 on average to Vatican
amazing place with great staff !
Nice hotel, enjoyable stay.
The property is close to a metro stop, clean, and comfortable.
Overall pleasant
Otherwise very pleasant
It was good except for the fact that I was given a room with 2 single beds when 1 king bed was requested. I asked for the change and had to wait over 1 hour to ask again if the room was ready which it was. With the change of shifts at the desk I somehow got lost. More attention should be placed on clients waiting for rooms and more communication when changing shifts. Room service was excellent once we were able to connect. Phones should be fixed.
parking is extra pay.
Very good hotel
The hotel is very nice, clean, strategically placed with respect to the Policinico Gemelli. Staff were very friendly and professional. The room was very clean, spacious. Beds were comfy and TV was wide and nice. Bathroom a bit small but had everything one needs, including a shower with a proper water pressure and a hair drier that actually worked.
Courtyard Corona
As I was on business trip it was close to where I had to work. I already stayed her before and hotel is very convenient and nice for a stay if you have some business to do n this area. otherwise I would recommend to stay in central Rome. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed and I only got terrible breakfast box each morning. This was disappointing. As compensation I got FOC of what I took from the fridge in the lobby.
A bit far from the main central Rome attractions we moved around byt train or Taxi and bathrooms are a bit to small, otherwise nice hotel, excellent service..
Great stay
It was great
Awesome But out of town Transit is quick or 20 euro cab to collisium
Disappointed there was no pool. After walking around the colosseum and Vatican it would have been nice to jump in a pool.
Good
Clean and good.
Loved this hotel, was a bit out from the main attractions of Rome but taxis were reasonable and you only waited 4-5 minutes when ordered by reception. Staff in all areas of hotel were lovely to deal with, very welcoming and professional. Food in Bistro and Restaurant very tasty and worth a try. Rooms were spotless clean and view from balcony was breath taking.
It was amazing. Improvement can be Free shuttle, instead of service fee for shuttle service
Good hotel but time for renovation. Some rooms had big cracks..
Pleasend stay
Everyone at the hotel was very helpful and the accommodations were great. I defenetly stay there again.
Nice hotel a little far from city center
Very nice hotel , very noisy area though. Very nice breakfast in the morning.
Nice hote.l close to the train station.
Great staff very courteous, so helpfull. The hotel is close to the train station' it's right behind the hotel. Definitely will go back again.
Nice hotel! A little far away from town.
Not great
The hotel was ok, but very loud. We could hear everything in the hallway all night. The shower was really bad with no pressure and no consistency of temperature, without changing knob it would change from burning hot to freezing cold. The hotel was pretty far from everything and ended up being expensive to get to and from with a taxi or uber. Wouldn't stay again.
Great hotel and ammenities. A little far from center to town.
Excellent hotel in a quiet area away from the noise of the city
Although hotel location short distance outside central Rome ,the hotel shuttle bus service was perfect to be dropped off near Vatican combined with use of Metro etc The hotel was ideal for our visit to Rome we stayed 5 nights. Housekeeping every day All staff were very friendly and helpful especially on reception Overall a very good hotel and ideal for visit to Rome and surrounding area
Convienent Business Trip
Have stayed at this hotel a few times. Very convienent for Gemilli Hospital. Breakfast is good, bar is quite nice.
Nice stay but not to comfortable
Like the location, it was clean but the bed and pillows were very hard
Excellent hotel - superb staff
Plush hotel - excellent staff - metro station 5 minutes walk away was unfortunately closed for refurbishment. Cycle path / walkway alongside metro line is great for early morning run. HOWEVER, the area near the hotel & Rome in general is very scruffy with lots of rubbish strewn on verges & graffiti everywhere. It appears that there is a huge lack of civic pride. This is in such a contrast to the fabulous & iconic buildings. If you can accept the rubbish & graffiti, it's well worth a visit (but not in August - just too hot if you are used to British weather!!) The hotel's location is fine if you are happy to use public transport or be prepared for a 20 Euro taxi ride or 3 Euro shuttle bus (but that's only to the Vatican, about halfway to the city centre (Pantheon / Coliseum) area.
The staff was fantastic, very helpful and went out of the way to make stay and experince a joyful one. Front office upgrded my stay, the Chef took trouble to make me nice rice curry dish, the resturant staff was very attentive and helpful inspte of busy time.
Great view
I initially hesitated to stay at this hotel because of its distance from the city center. We we only in Rome for 3 days and all the reviews I read suggested staying closer to town. I am glad that we stayed at the Courtyard. We booked the upgraded room on the 6th floor and we thoroughly enjoyed the view we had from the balcony. The balcony overlooked the Vatican and the city. It was very relaxing to sit out and enjoy. A taxi will cost about 25 euros to travel into the city and it takes about 15 minutes. Getting a taxi was very easy (hotel desk calls for outbound) and returning from the city was a breeze. The desk staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The room overall was a good value. The upgraded room included a nice breakfast buffet and wifi. Even after the fees for the taxi's, it was significantly less than the price of a city center hotel. The hotel shows some wear, but overall it was clean and well maintained. The bed was a bit firm for my taste, but I was able to manage.
Nice hotel
Stayed at the hotel for 4 nights. Was clean and efficient. The staff initially could not see the reservation ( made through Expedia), but after a couple of phone calls sorted it out. They were quite nice about it, no fuss or excitement. The room was what one would expect, basic but clean. Breakfast was included and they had a good spread available. The hotel was not close to any of the major sites, but had a courtesy shuttle to the city center. All in all a pleasant a experience.
Fantstic hotel with very professional people. excellent room nice location
Some OK, some not
The whole family stayed there for convenience. It was okay but.... One of the desk clerks was extremely combative with me when I misunderstood the breakfast rules! Also, in the coffee Capitol of the world, you can only get real coffee in the bar! The breakfast/dining area has a Nestle machine of chemical brew. As for the food, it was mediocre and pricey.
A great hotel for business trips!
overall it's a great hotel for businees trips especially if your congress or business is in the catholic university which is a walking distance from the hotel, yet it would be a considerable option for holidays if the shuttle bus service is free. we were charged per person per way for the shuttle bus trips to the vatican where the bus drops you. Also i think the internet service in the rooms should be free considering the hotel price. The internet service was only free if you were in the lobby.Otherwise it was a great hotel as regards cleanliness and service. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was nice and variable.
Simple and splendid
Friendly neat practical for work and for Vatican and downtown visits loved it
Great hotel, lousy location
Hotel was great, staff was superb, restaurant was very good but location is lousy because of the transportation logistics to get into and out of the center of Rome. We wasted a lot of time on public transport. Next time we will choose a hotel more central!
Rome hotel
Nice modern hotel good location
Exceptional, Will be back!
I have stayed in several hotels for business abroad but this one was on a personal visit. So the hotel was good, the staff friendly, food great and I would rate 4 out of 5 . As they say you can say a lot about someone during a lost luggage and a rainy day (Its not just about the person who lost, but the ones who make a difference). I lost my valuables and passport and had to run between the cops and the embassy. The hotel became my home until I got everything resolved. that's when I realized this wasn't just another hotel. right from cheerful conversations (Each one of them at the reception and the bar man) to getting my print outs on time, even getting my passport photograph cut to perfection, the staff were with me! when I bid adieu, it was like for some good friends..
Great room, nice staff, but terrible food
Overall the hotel is clean, and the staff is nice and friendly. However, the food/cafeteria in this Courtyard Rome is terrible! I cannot believe one can make such a terrible lunch (meat spaghetti) while charging me 9 euro.
Didn't disappoint
weekend stay for the Wales vs Italy six nations game. Everything about the hotel was great....couldn't recommend it highly enough. Very helpful staff, great rooms, great value wifi coverage - just €10 for 24 hours... or free in the hotel lobby. Food was outstanding and the wales team were also staying there which was a huge bonus for us.
Definitely Returning Here
Excellent hotel to stay at. Staff are incredibly friendly and professional. Breakfast spread has many options. Rooms are large with a lot of desk space. 130V (yes, 1-3-0) outlet in bathroom for American devices. I had sneezing allergies the whole time I stayed here throughout March but rooms are clean. Balcony is great to relax on. $3 Euro shuttle to downtown Vatican or walk two blocks to train station and connect with Metro anywhere in city for $2.50. Station also intersects with pedway for biking/running/walking that goes all the way to edge of downtown with a great hilltop park near the end. Hotel location is outskirts/residential at edge of park with running/hiking trails and has self service laundry, markets, eateries, restaurants, cafes, all within 3 blocks.
Perfect location
Location was right across the street from the park and centrally located to all of the major museums. Within walking distance to anything. Very clean and upscale. Staff was extremely helpful.
Honeymoon Stay
The staff was excellent and took great care of us. Very knowledgeable about the area, trips, traveling to and from the hotel, etc. They took very good care of us.
Although reception could find no record of our pre-paid booking, it was soon sorted . The first room given to us had broken patio doors so we asked to be moved and this was done immediately. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Good Hotel
Friendly staff. Erica was particularly helpful. We had a king size room which was excellent. My only regret was the distance to the centre however the hotel runs an hourly minibus service, for a small fee, which was excellent.
Comfortable business hotel
Close to the Catholic University Hospital, but far from downtown Rome. Hotel offers hourly shuttle service to the Vatican area for 3 euros each way, but not during the mid-afternoon. Close to the train station, but the area around the station is not spectacular. Internet was a bit slow and unreliable -- costs 10 euros for 24 hours. Otherwise good, standard Marriott hotel.
It was a wonderful time in Roma
It was a wonderful time in Roma The Art the food the coffee and the people make it Fantastico !! The Marriott Staff from the shuttle driver's to the concierge The Front desk staff Francesa, Valentina and Paula were so helpful, efficient and Professional, Walter fromOz
4 Marriott days in Roma-- @Courtyard Central Park
When I came in early on my first day they made a room available immediately. It was big room with a balconywell furnished and considering the number of tourists coming through from around the world I think it is very well run. When I came back from my cruise They were even more helpful as I came in at 9am 7days later they gave me a room....Even better with aview of the City scape a Balcony and that made my return stay very enjoyable....Walter
Lacking in many areas
I did not have a pleasant experience here. First of all, they did not have my reservation that I booked through this site. I arrive on Friday night, only to find that not only do I not have my room, the entire hotel is booked for the night. Luckily, I was traveling with a couple of friends who let me stay in their room. The next morning, I tried to make sure I had my room for the night...but this process took my entire morning (3 hours). They did finally find my room in the system, but of course it wasn't the King bed room I reserved. For those planning on staying, make sure you confirm your reservation with the hotel before arriving.
not that near all that must-see sights.
Athough the hotel is not near all that must-see sights, if has a shuttle bus service running between the hotel and the Vatican area. We did have a decent stay in the hotel.
Out of the buzz of the main city of Rome
We had read some "not-so-nice" comments about the hotel and the area around Central Park before we departed the states. However, we found everything to our liking. The room was a King sized bed with AC/TV and nice bathroom facilities. The staff was very helpful even in making travel arrangements and tours of the area. The shuttle bus to and from the Vatican Piazza was very convenient and inexpensive. The Train station was clean, safe and easy travel. All in all, we did not see where anyone could complain about their stay at this hotel.
Nice, but not if you're touring ancient Rome.
The hotel is nice, but if you're touring Rome its not near anything. The hotel offers a shuttle to the Vatican for 3€ per person which works very well for getting to and from the Vatican, but when you want to visit the many other areas in Rome, you have to take the metro system. There isn't much in the area of the hotel for shopping or dining. The staff coud only recommend one local place for dinner. While it was delicious, we wanted more choices at the end of the day when we were back in the hotel. They also need a concierge. The front desk was pleasant and helped us with basic things, but not overly knowledgeable about the historic areas or helpful in arranging things for us.
Comfortable but out of town location
Consistent standard of Marriott hotels; rooms a good size, up to date and an overall pleasant interior. Only downside is the location about 3 miles from all the attractions but there are regular shuttle buses.
Too far from the city!
The hotel is too far from the city. You are better off getting a hotel in the city otherwise be prepared to pay for shuttle service plus additional taxi costs when you are in the city. This hotel is lonely and secluded. In addition, the bar is at no use, drinks are not prepared accordingly and you still have to pay for them even if you don't like them. Hotel is nice but location is no good. You are better off finding a nice to hotel in the city at a lower cost.
Central Park Not So Central But Pleasing
The staff and hotel were both very professional and helpful. Breakfast was probably the best in Rome considering everywhere else is serving coffee and pastries during that time. The only disappointing things were: -the location is farther away from the main attractions then they lead you to believe -the hotel shuttle charges a fee of 3 EUR per use going and coming -the hotel charges a daily fee to use the internet in your room of 10 EUR for a 24 hour period If the shuttle and internet were included in the nightly rate I would give them 5 stars.
Great time
We had a great time in Rome and this hotel was very accomodating to our needs. We just wished it was a little closer to the city center. Other than that, it's great because they offer a shuttle service that works every half hour and it's pretty reliable.
It was OK, but not that convenient.
Rome: Hotel Marriott Courtyard Central Park
My husband and I and another couple friends of ours stayed at the Marriott from August 29 to September 1, and we were very satisfied with the Hotel and the staff was very helpful. The rooms offering 2 double beds and a balcony are more spacious and the added light from the sliding doors is a plus. The air conditioning worked perfectly and they offered a very complete breakfast. We had requested that this be added to the price of the room. We were able to take the shuttle (for 3 E.) to the Vatican in the morning and then from 4:30 pm to 9:30. So the total cost for the 4 of us was 12E. We mostly took taxis back and forth to the main tourist areas and to go out for dinner and the cost was around 16E. The hotel is situated on a hill and one can see St-Peters’ It was brutally warm in Rome and we were happy to escape the heat of the core city when we went back to the hotel. When my husband and I returned to Rome on September 6 to take our flight back to Canada on September 7 we were offered an airport hotel but we chose to go back to the Marriott Central Park instead.
European Courtyard
Hotel is nice. Pictures r accurate. The Staff was VERY nice. You must know to request and rerequest the front desk turn down the A/C in your room, A/C marginal. European hotel so need to leave room key in slot to make lights/AC work. Take extra credit card shape card and use it so you can have both room keys with you, although I’m sure they prefer you not leave it running. Beds are small doubles or kings, no queen size in building! Shuttle was 3euro each way, buy tickets at front desk. Taking train to the metro worked well for us for getting downtown, 1euro per ride or 4 euro for all day. Train station seemed a bit scary at first, graffiti, but was an adventure. You can by metro tickets at desk which work for train and metro. Not much in the way of restaurants or shopping near hotel. Quite place. Older building. RomeCabs picked us up from Airport, to cruise ship, and then hotel, then to Airport. RomeCabs also picked us up at hotel and gave great city tour. Hotel breakfast is nice and we didn't find a way for it to NOT be included. But it worked for us, having big breakfast before a day of sightseeing. WiFi cost 9 euro or 12euro per 24hours. I was able to get the 12euro deal on my laptop and use code iphone as well. Frig in rooms is like one of those 12v ice chests, not real frig. Store in lobby had great items. If you shop long enough, you might get a few percent discount. For a European hotel, it was pretty nice, but not exactly like a U.S. Courtyard.
Good
.
Not up to the Marriott Standard
After staying at 20+ Marriotts across the globe and going out of the way to stay at this one, the only element of this hotel that resembles that of all other Marriotts that we have stayed in is the staff were plesant. Outside of that the room standard is way off. Beds are like rocks, bathrooms are poorly maintained and everything that is provided at a typical Marriott is a healty add on to your bill at this location. Not recomended when you can stay much closer to all attractions for 1/2 the price at equal or better accomodation. Hindsight is 20/20 I guess.
"Not bad but too far from the action"
The room and service was good but the: a. hotel is 20-30 minutes taxi ride ($20+ Euros) to the center of Rome. Although only a short walk to the train/metro station (1.2 Euro). b. the restaurant was expensive and not worth it, although the breakfast was OK.
Nice place to stay
This hotel is not in a touristy area, but is very close to a metro stop. We found a great tavern right close. The view is not what was portrayed in the description, but still nice. Room was comfortable, but we had trouble with our air conditioner.
nice hotel
Everything was as expected.
Nice Hotel bad location
The hotel staff and room were very nice. Gave us the American hospitality and feel away from home. However, the location was much futrther then we thought it would be. The picture overlooking the vatican was VERY misleading (quotes from other couples we spoke to). You can not walk to the vatican and in fact you have to take either the metro, shuttle, or cab. Food is less then desirable as well. If you can overlook the location, not a bad hotel.
not your best bet.
While for the most part this hotel is of a standard Courtyard by Marriott quality, it is in a sketchy area of Rome. They offer the shuttle down to where you can take the metro around the city to sightsee for * euros/ person each way. This must be because there is absolutely nothing within walking distance to eat, or shops to walk. You can walk a few blocks to the public train down to the Metro. A taxi from the airpot is at least * Euros, I would rent a car and leave it near a metro station for inner city sightseeing, the rest of the country is very easy to drive around yourself. The location is loud, even on the 4th floor you can hear sirens all night so sleeping in is impossible. We requested a non smoking room but the faint odor when we walked in made us feel someone had smoked in the room previously. The internet charge is * euros / day so try and get it included in the rate!! Some of the staff members were very helpful and others were standoffish. When I return to Rome I will try another hotel.
Nice Hotel, but location wasn't great
Staff was great, nice and friendly. Location was about 3 miles away from the heart of the city where you want to go for all touristy attractions but they have a shuttle that you pay for (2 euros each way per person). There's not much around the hotel at all so don't expect to find great restaurants around it. Staff was helpful as far as getting around and all questions answered. Speaked perfect English as well. Rooms were what you expect of a Marriot - very nice and clean. The breakfast was the same every day but you save on $$ there. Rooms each had a balcony which was nice.
great price and location
The hotel is a 5 minute walk to the train and metro, which easily got us to everything in Rome. There aren't too many restaurants nearby, but since it only takes 15 minutes to get to the main terminal and everything else, it is well worth the little effort to save the money on the price of the hotel. Staff was VERY helpful in giving directions and guidance. They all speak and understand English perfectly. We would definitely stay again.
Too far from the city sadly
hotel was more of a distance from the city than we expected, however the general facilites in the hotel were of a good standard. Sadly the balconies for our three rooms were dirty (table and chairs). The restaurant staff in the evening were very good and the food likewise with reasonable prices for hotel food; bar staff seemed overworked and therefore service was slow there. Air conditioning in one room did not work neither did the safe in another.
Exellent value for money.
A very pleasent Hotel with very helpful staff. We were very well looked after and i would recommend this hotel to any traveler for it's value for money.
good overall hotel
the hotel was very good and service excellent the only problem is the distance from central rome and the vatican, they do have a free shuttle that we can use to go to the vatican and downtown
Good value but...
An excellent hotel in every respect except (a) they charge for internet access (roughly 60x what I pay at home). Most hotels give this away free these days (b) overnight parking costs extra (if you can't park Roman-style in the hotel driveway) (c) it's not the best location for sightseeing unless you have a car (d) they put the "Book of Mormon" in the bedside table where normally you find a Gideon Bible. If you can live with all this, an excellent hotel.
Courtyard by Marriott Rome Central Park | Hotel in Rome | Travala.com
After a terrible experience at another hotel in Rome my family and I escaped to this hotel. We arrived and the staff was amazing. The room was clean and comfortable. I was finally able to sleep with peace of mind that we were in a safe clean environment. Lesson learned, I will always stay at a Marriott hotel from now on.
