Good place to stay good location
The property needs to be renovated. Staff are always friendly and polite.
Our stay was great! Easy check in and super clean rooms. We will definitely be back.
It was exactly what I needed. No frills, comfortable rooms well-kept, friendly helpful staff.
ok
Very helpful friendly staff
A little pricey for the area, but a clean room.
A little pricey for the location, but a good room and clean hotel.
I like the stay, but what I didn’t like was the check in and check out.
The hotel was very nice and comfortable. The location was good and was walkable to Central Park and public transportation. There were many good restaurants in the area. We had some issues with the plumbing our hotel room but the staff was exceptional in dealing with the problem.
Great place to stay in this part of Manhattan
I’ve stayed here before; it is very convenient to stay here when going to NYC for treatment at the hospitals on the upper east side. Especially easy access from points north. Nice sized comfortable rooms when compared to similarly priced hotels in midtown, which are smaller. Great lighting in the bathroom, although a dim nightlight would be helpful. I like that there is a choice among several nearby delis to grab a breakfast sandwich and to avoid high priced sit down breakfasts. Great to have both a fridge and microwave in the room, which really came in handy due to a very restrictive pre surgery diet. My only criticism: how can th front desk not offer the ability to get change of a large bill to make it easier to tip the cleaning staff? I’m always stunned by the dramatic variation in room price depending on the time of the year. I’m guessing the first week in January is a slow period, and it truly felt I was getting a bargain.
Clean, warm and spacious room; friendly staff. Good location close to subway and only around 20 mins into the centre.
I was disappointed with the condition of my suite for the price I paid. First of all a couple of the lights didn't work - not a big deal as they were just lamps. However I was very annoyed by the fact the water would never get above room temperature when showering, which is unacceptable for a suite. I also feel like I overpaid compared to the rate I was promised, but I never got a final bill just a final charge that was over $1,000 on my card.
The place was very clean, but the only thing I didn’t like was that the air conditioning wasn’t working properly; it didn’t cool at all and made the room very hot. Other than that, everything else was excellent.
Right in front of projects. Travel expensive because too far away from tourist attractions. Surroundings' dirty.. Vomit on streets etc. Noisy at night because of projects. Fire and everything. Hotel flooded on 7th floor while stay. Amenities no refilled correctly. Hotel run down. Curtain blackout rods did not work because it was not there. What a bad experience.
The staff in the front desk is terrible
Like Close to a subway station and quite area. Unlike Didn't serve breakfast and the options are a little far from hotel.
Everything as expected. Staff was helpful with late check in. No complaints.
visibly dirty and unclean. claimed to sleep 3 people but pull out couch was completely unusable. thin mattress with terribly uncomfortable springs.
Nice hotel about six blocks from the subway in a reasonably quiet neighborhood.
The man at the front desk during the night (Dec. 30- Jan. 31) is very accommodating, funny, and friendly.
Repeat Visit
The is the third time we have stayed at this location. It is safe, with multiple sites to walk to for food and non-food items. The desk personnel are good. In fact one of the personnel remember us from earlier visits.
Na
The staff was very friendly. The room was nice and clean. It was an overall great experience
Comfortable stay
Sorry, sorry Sofa bed
There were three of us, and we had a suite. The king bed was fine, but the sofa bed was EXTREMELY UNCOMFORTABLE!!!! It was one of the worst pullout sofas we've ever used!!! When you use the bathroom sink, you have to close the door, because it blocks the sink. For $600 +per night, I would expect better from Marriott!
Excellent
One day they forgot to clean our room
Have stayed at this Marriott several times due to locale close to our family. Hotel could use a renovation. Rooms clean but overall, property needs reno of carpets some painting and bathroom updating. No restaurant in hotel.
It was a great location for what we needed to do
Bad Experience
No internet when arrived BUT told at Front Desk would be up in an hour. NO air conditioning. NEVER mentioned on Hotels.com OR at Front Desk upon check. Room extremely hot and after complaining I got two fans. NO Manager on duty at 8pm and Front Desk unhelpful. Maintenance tried to open windows but unable due to safety regulations. I’m Bonvoy Marriott member for 30 years and NEVER been to a Marriot property that did not have air conditioning. Compound that with fact I was going to this property just for one night to travel home next day after release from hospital after 5 days and a hot and stuffy room was NOT the best thing for my health!
Staff are excellent and professional.
hotel was fine. we had wanted early check in but received very confusing responses from the staff. other than that everything went smoothly. cleaning staff was helpful
Nice
The property felt very safe especially traveling in a group of girls. Very friendly customer service.
Great stay
Great location and very comfortable.
The beds wern't comfortable
Meh
On-room coffee maker was flakey, bed and pillows were uncomfortable. Very expensive, coordination with valet service was disjoint, they wanted to charge us a failed unrequested vehicle delivery fee the day before we left.
We had a great stay, we stayed over a week do to work on our apartment but are going to recommend to friends and family coming to the city. The staff and management are amazing, all very helpful. It made a difficult time more pleasant and comfortable. We thank them all.
Very nice hotel and probably the most affordable option you'll find in UES. Lots of corner shops and restaurants nearby, just a nice area to walk in and was oddly quiet at night. The property and my room were clean, there were just a few cosmetic impairments that weren't terribly noticeable unless you're actively looking for things to complain about. All in all a great place to stay if you're popping into the city for the weekend and such.
A Gem in NYC - Upper East Side
Courtyard Upper East side is the best stay in NYC and it is so because of the service provided by Willie Howard at the front desk and his indefatigable enthusiasm and positivity as well as 100% committment to hospitality and guest relations. John the manager has a very good man in Willie working for him.
Best Upper East Side Hotel in NYC
Willie Howard is the only staff member who makes it a point to welcome guests and also offers genuine hospitality warmth. We would not be staying at this hotel were it not for Willie and his unwavering commitment to hospitality and guest relationship and the manager John’s willingness to extend the same courtesy.
Courtyard Upper East Side - Willie’s Grace
Willie Howard and John (Manager) made me feel welcome and were very hospitable to me. Made my stay comfortable and always welcomes me with a smile and greeted with warmth.
We loved our stay here! It was very well maintained and convenient to everything we will be back!
It is a good location, but the front desk was rude, and the cleaning staff was helpful and friendly. The area is excellent. However, the hotel is dated, the rooms are small, and the shower has tremendous pressure. It was quiet,
Everything was great. There was scaffolding around and no lounge or restaurant at the hotel.
Good place to stay. Clean, easy access, valet parking. The A/C could have been cooler.
The room was small for a king bed. But acceptable by NYC standards. Neighborhood was comfortable except for garbage bags on street and dog poop. Again NYC expectations. Transportation was excellent. Nearby subway stop. Lots of hot water for bath and shower. Great towels. Comfortable bed.
front desk had no bank drawer on two different morning interactions was forced to use a debit card to make purchase and incur a small transaction fee, slightly inconvenient.
Great property - clean and quiet. Courteous staff!
We wanted to stay in that areaw
I like that you offer free water and coffee in the lobby.
Perfect meet my needs
Easy access to transportation and walkable
Hotel was very run down and staff was super rude and awful. Do not stay here. Wi-Fi out most of my stay, no soap in the shower, bugs in the bathroom, and broken toilet. Total joke
Nice hotel easy to subway
Great place to stay, eveything is at walkable distance
Great location, many food options, close to a nice park and the waterfront. Lots of transit available.
Great staff, clean, excellent gym, a bit noisy with outside traffic, not a super great area but safe enough and an easy walk to better areas.
Tv did not work told desk clerk. Wasn’t fixed in two days since
Great place to stay for a night visiting family. Will stay again !
The hotel is dated inside and out. For example, there are no usb chargers in the room. Furniture is old. It is in an excellent location for using buses and trains to travel the city. Staff were courteous.
The bathroom was not thoroughly cleaned. There was hair still left on the bathroom floor and in the shower. The bedsheets had stains on it. Overall the room was comfortable.
This place is decent, at best.
1st stay in Upper East side NYC
Limited hotels in the upper east side of NYC. We enjoyed a pleasant stay. The staff was attentive and helpful. Lots of good food within walking distance. Central park walks are only a few blocks west.
I loved the neighborhood in the surrounding area. A lot of options as far as food and the Deli’s are phenomenal. Nothing negative I can really say.
It's just a great place and an excellent staff. This is my goto in NYC in total not just the upper east side.
Very clean and approachable staff
Just ok
The rooms were clean and so was the lobby, but the smells of the rooms are not great. Very musty with the old heaters running loud. Such a great location.
Love the hotel, the service and the location
A
Property was overall very nice, mostly clean. Only negative was a nasty frame on the bathroom mirror. Very nice staff, decent location.
Pls is average. Small rooms.
Good place to stay
Really enjoyed that.We got our room serviced every day. What I didn't like. Was that the room was so small There was no room for any suitcases
Friendly and attentive staff, room was clean and good size, nice view of the Robert Kennedy bridge, gym was well appointed.
Nice clean hotel with a parking option. No frills but clean and modern. Parking is $79 a night as advertised but super convenient for both pickup and drop off
Good
From AC not working and issues with the bathroom and a lot of noise, the pictures did not describe the room we reserved.
Not worth $500+ per night, unsafe neighborhood
The location is across the street from a large low-income housing complex and near some areas where there are often 2 or more homeless people just sitting around. I was with my partner so I felt safe enough but for solo travelers or female travelers, not the best. Our room had cruddy furniture. The bed appeared clean but the sheets had a strange metallic smell to them that was bad enough I felt the need to spray perfume on the sheets. It seems a prior guest drew graffitti on the bathroom wall over the toilet and it couldn't be completely cleaned off which was weird. Considering I paid $565 for the night this is all pretty awful.
Good value for the area
It was easy to get to the subway.
Well located, the staff missed my woke up call Saturday the 14th at 4 o’clock. NEVER heard an excuse . Other than that it’s fine.
Great place to stay right near the subway station and lots of local shops to go to if you need any food or any other items! Hotel was nice staff were helpful and friendly.
The room was fantastic. Free coffee ,tea and cold filtered water 24/7 at the lobby. I know that there an option for parking.
.
I enjoyed my stay at this property. The customer service and cleanliness were perfect.
It was a great stay overall No complaints would definitely stay here again & again
Generally excellent facilities and staff service. Problem with taking $200 off my currency card as deposit without my knowledge or permission. This caused difficulties with paying for things.
Easy clean safe
Good
The property had a unique way of providing drinking water to the guests. The hotel maintained a machine, free to guests, to access flavored drinking water. The staff was generally friendly and helpful. The hotel was quiet.
Quiet clean location!
Nothing against the property but not much to do around the area but lots of dining choices. We had to Uber everywhere which added to the costs of the trip. If you are okay with taking the train then it’s okay. We prefer staying at the grand central train station area. It’s more for the hotel but you can walk to Bryant park, Times Square, Rockefeller, Central Park so save on transportation costs. This hotel was clean, staff very friendly and we liked the water machine at the front desk which is free. Also no extra hotel fees like most resorts do
Good hotel, good location
Staff are very helpful and everything was clean and spotless. Perfect Ac and water pressure of shower was great. Beds and pillows very comfortable. Rooms are small as Hotel is dated and furnitures need upgrade. They have a great complimentary coffee /hot chocolate/ cold water 24 hours available. Only 10 minutes walking distance to subway station. Bus stops only 2-3 minutes walking. Subway system fair enough, only dirty and bad smells.
Perfect
it is great
Wonderful pillows
