Easy check in. Friendly staff and clean hotel. Didn’t feel the safest parking at lot across the street

We had a great stay and the absolutely BEST service in the restaurant on Friday night. I believe the servers name was Saraj?

I found it unfortunate that there is no "on-site" parking. This required me to leave the property and search for space at one of the nearby parkades, at night, in unfamiliar surroundings. As a solo female traveler, this was way beyond my comfort level. For this reason, I will not stay at this hotel again, if I am travelling alone. Otherwise, the hotel was fine.

Property was very clean, staff were very helpful and polite. Lots of little shops and cafes all walkable. Only con I had was the bistro hours in the hotel wasn’t great. If you wanted coffee or lunch had to grab it before they closed at 1030am. Then they re opened at 4pm.

I can't ever say how well they took care of my needs. Staff did everything possible and I greatly appreciate their efforts. Thank you again.

I enjoyed my stay

The stay was one of the best I've ever had! Staff are very friendly, people in restaurant and Aleena, Ishki (sorry if I misspelled her name) at front desk and the whole place felt like home and everything went easy and smooth What I liked: _The place and the surrounding area are quiet _the place looks nice and cozy _room TV is smart and large and can be turned _There is a tiny (market) for chips and sweets and drinks near the reception _parking is nearby and open (you pay at hotel 9$ per night) What I didn't like: _No fridge or microwave in the room _No room service (or maybe there wasn't just at the time I called) _the view wasn't very pleasant _I am not sure if they change the sheets after each guest, I hope they do as it is really dangerous to keep the same sheets since this could transmit viruses and diseases from one person to another. But when I unfolded the bed sofa, I found a lighter under the mattress and cookie crumbles. Though the rest of the room and bathroom looked clean Overall I still loved my time there and would love to go back again

Located right downtown with everything within a block or two. Our room had a view of the harbour and looked to be recently renovated.

Friendly staff, clean accommodations. I was a little disappointed that there wasn’t a bathtub in the room. After long distance travelling, a nice hot bath would have been amazing.

Great location and walkability to many things downtown. Nice decor. Very clean. Good pool and gym. Friendly staff. Definitely would stay here again, especially if I was coming over for an event at Port Theatre as it's almost across the street.

Brand new hotel in centre of city. Lots of restaurants and coffee shops nearby. Lots of parking.

Staff were so accommodating and kind. Very friendy service and willing to help with any questions we had. We had a mix ip with Hotels.com and front desk helped with the issue even though they were swamped. Resteraunt staff is fantastic. Accomodations were clean, quiet and inviting. I would recommend this hotel.

The employees were all really friendly, I appreciated my interactions with them. The only con is that the parking situation could be a little annoying sometimes -- other than that, I didn't really run into many issues at or with the hotel.

Arrived earlier than check in and was immediately given a room to accommodate my situation

I really liked the room and the location, and that I could control my heat in the room. However. The laundry detergent was extremely harsh. I had to call the front desk in the middle of the night for an antihistamine and could stay in the bed any longer and ended out my sleepless night on the chair.

We forgot our shoes in the room . 2 pairs. One men’s Gucci and women’s converse. We called the hotel but they did not help me. Housekeeping guy took my number and told me he would call me back once they check the lost and found but I never received any calls from them. It’s already been more than a month now. I called them more than 10 times but no response

Wonderful property and facilities. Only note is the shampoo/conditioner set up in the showers have the names of the amenities written in lime green which is almost impossible to read.

Long waits to get to room

The hotel is new which means it's clean and nice. However, it only had one operating elevator and NO PUBLIC STAIRS. As a result, despite having our room on the 2nd floor, we had to wait a long time to get to and from our room. It's ludicrous that there are no public stairs!

Newer hotel with great location. Walkable to many amenities, including casino, shopping, restaurants and waterfront. Super friendly staff and very bright and clean. My new go-to hotel in Nanaimo.

I can't say enough good things about my experience! From the moment I arrived, the staff were warm and welcoming, making me feel right at home. The room was spotless and very spacious. The bed was incredibly comfortable. The pool area was super clean. The bistro had a Happy Hour which had a great variety of delicious options. Overall, my stay was excellent! I would return to this hotel.

New, very nice property. We were able to check in about 1.5 hours before check-in time. Location was very convenient, within walking distance to everything you would need. The numerous homeless people around downtown minded their own business. I would definitely stay here again.

The new Marriott in Nanaimo is a fantastic property. The beds are very comfortable and the rooms are very clean. The staff is very friendly, they go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. The First Nations artwork that adorns the walls looks great. Will definitely stay there again.

I understand that Courtyard by Marriott is a new hotel, and it takes time to get the hotel to meet the Marriott standards. However, I would like to say that changing a room 3 times upon check-in, registering my parking for 1 day instead of 4 days, not paying my parking ticket promptly (telling me I need to wait for 2 weeks for you guys to pay the ticket), are not something I would expect from Marriott. On the other hand, the onsite staffs and Managers were efficient to solve these situations, after I've expressed my concerns. Overall a pleasant stay.

Unreal beds. And blackout blinds that work. Rooms and bathrooms are very nice.

Well kept and friendly

Forgot wedding ring on nightstand upon checkout. Called a few hours later when we had reception. Was told I would receive a call back, didn't that evening. Called again the next day and the ring was never found and the housekeeping manager refused to answer transfers. Wouldn't recommend staying here.

The room was large, clean and quiet. The parking was a small concern as it wasn't secure overnight and across the street. We had to bring golf clubs into our room for safety but were advised by the front desk to do so. Friendly and helpful staff. We would stay there again.

Connecting from Nanaimo to Vancouver

We had a good stay at the Mariotte Nanaimo. The bed was comfortable and the room had a bar fridge and microwave. We chose this hotel b/c it was close to Hullo Ferry as we were going to Vancouver the next morning. The hotel was helpful in calling a taxi for us as there is not a shuttle. The taxi was a short distance and less than $10. It wouldn't have been a 30 minute walk but we had too much luggage. The lobby also had a breakfast bistro where we could purchase coffee and a bagel or a breakfastsandwich. It had lots of seating.
