Great staff. Great service. Great hotel
My kids stayed here during FISE and it was nice how walkable it was to food and event
Smashing up together hotel. Not really in the centre, but very comfortable
Location great
Great location for a short break in Montpellier. Rooms great, not really worth having a balcony as very public over the square. I wouldn’t bother with breakfast as very hotel standard. Staff very friendly but some more efficient than others. We would stay again as the teams made it so easy to get around.
Great hotel as usual but AC is poor
Always great to stay here but please beware that the AC really doesn’t work in April! They don’t turn it on until summer, so on hot spring nights, it’s quite difficult to sleep comfortably
Bed bugs
Nice stay in Montpellier
Good service and comfortable rooms. Tram station right in front to take you to city center. Located right next to their city hall.
This hotel is located very close to two tram stations that can get you anywhere inside the Old Town within 10-20 minutes. Everything about the hotel is very nice, the pool is divine. The only thing we didn't like was the fact that the water pipes seem to have a rather low capacity when it comes draining the sink and else
Friendly staff, beautiful hotel.
Nice pool! French with an American touch
Don’t book here! Gates to car park left open, Builders on site. No pool. Refused to stay
Nice large clean rooms. Great location on the river walk.
I would like to highly recommend the Courtyard Marriott - great hotel in a great location.
Pratique, bien placé, mais le service se dégrade un peu. ce n'est peut être que pour cette fois .... car nous avons toujours été contents les dernières fois
Comfortable. Restaurant was fine. Bar “so—so” Spa was unfortunately closed.
Thé property is a bit away from the more tourist district but with the trams directly across the street access is very easy to where you might want to go. Staff was very very pleasant especially Jeremy. Being in the hotel business ourselves we definitely recommend this property in Montpellier.
Good option
A nice modern hotel with good size rooms. The pool is good to swim but tucked away it needed a bar but more a business hotel. Good tourist advice and info from staff. Staff excellant. Resturant food good but limited menu.well located by tram for into centre of town or towards beach. Would stay again but opt for superior room i.e. with balcony. Gym had the basics and nice to excercise. Longer term please look at having a small steam room.
Great location, with a tram right out front that makes all of Montpellier accessible. We took the tram one morning to the Gare SNCF and spent the day in Sète. Other areas are similarly reachable without car. Staff at the hotel were friendly and responsive. If you return home from a day sightseeing and are too tired to tram into the livelier areas of Montpellier for dinner, you'll find great options for takeout across from the hotel. All around excellent.
Best stay out of 5 times in Montpellier
Great stay in a modern hotel with great service, and cheaper parking than other hotels in Montpellier. It's the 5th time we stay in Montpellier and this has been our best option. Kind attention, great experience.
Avoid front of hotel
The screeching of the tram tracks meant the pilots got hardly any sleep the night before flying, despite having paid for superior rooms. Dont accept a room at the front of the hotel. Theres not sufficient sound proofing and the trams a real problem
Great hotel
Séjour à Montpellier
Hôtel de grande qualité, très bon accueil De nombreux services Je recommande
Séjour positif ++
Court séjour à Montpellier et pour une première fois au Courtyard. Accueil et service impeccable, chambre spacieuse et calme, situation agréable. J'y reviendrais.
Très bon séjour dans un très jolis hotel
lean
It was a very nice stay with a comfortable bed. The pool area is very nice . Most importantly, the hotel takes Covid seriously and everything is extra clean
Was a nice hotel, very friendly staff Room was like a museum piece, felt like I'd walked into my late Nans house Tin bath made it sound like next door had a horse that was urinated when they showered Fridge was more like an oven And I could blow colder air than the air con All that aside, did the trick I guess
Fabulous location, spacious and comfortable room, attentive and friendly staff.
Repeat visit
My wife & I visited Montpellier in 2016, staying at the Courtyard. We loved Montpellier, and were impressed by this hotel. So, this year we returned, and had another very enjoyable holiday.
This is a very good hotel suitable for couples and families. The front desk staff are incredibly helpful; Audrey and Rachel-thank you. Our room was lovely and big and bright with a terrace ( Deluxe Room). Great Aircon and a fridge and lovely breakfast...worth the extra money. The pool area was also good. The hotel is so well situated..a very easy tram ride to the city centre and also 5 minutes walk from excellent restaurants...Le BG and Tinquefougasse...don't miss them! There is a launderette across the street too which I used. Parking is also super. WARNING!!! MAKE SURE YOU BRING INSECT REPELLENT FOR MONTPELLIER! I WAS COVERED IN BITES FROM JUST WALKING ABOUT. Also the hotel is next to a river and has lots of plants growing. I would absolutely reccomend this hotel.
Great stay, with comfort and all amenities
Very good stay. The girl at reception, I’m sorry, I forgot her name but she was from African decent - was absolutely helpful and amazing. Thank you for taking Care of us, and Smiling always!
Close to stops for 3 different tram lines, walking distance to restaurants and grocery stores. Was able to take either of 2 tram lines to Women's World Cup Soccer game as well as the train station. The hotel is next to a river with that has a trail along it, providing peaceful strolls without the noise of the city around you.
Great location, friendly staff, clean, comfortable
It’s well located with parking onsite. The tram stop is across the street. The staff was helpful and nice.
Good place to stay. Public transportation near the area
Good hotel
The friendliest and most helpful staff I've ever met. The location was good since there's a tram station nearby or you can get to the city center by walking 15-20 mins. The rooms are big and the beds are comfy. The hotel is very comfortable overall
Lovely pool
Normal Marriott standard with a gorgeous pool and easy links into the city centre
Excellent hotel good transport links
Great hotel just a tram away from old town. Takes longer to get to beach but hotel has lovely pool. Didn't opt for breakfast - good cafes just opposite on the square.
Everything was perfect. The premises were immaculate, the amenities were great, and the staff - in particular Claire - were incredibly helpful. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
Many positive things to say....staff was wonderful, breakfast was fantastic, and the hotel is located by a tram stop, so it was easy to return from the exciting historical center.
Pleasing and convenient if you want a be in center Montpellier. Did not feel secure in the 1st floor rooms, they are accessible by anybody. Little overpriced for the hotel category.
Very good hotel. Lovely staff
Very nice hotel. Clean and very comfortable! Hotel staff very nice. Love this place!
Very comfortable and enjoyable to stay at. Will come again.
I was on trip, perfect place and all together, good position
New , Clean Hotel
Business trip to the city , nice new hotel expensive for what it is . Poor choice of English language tv channels . Better for less locally
Just perfect on all accounts
Nice and large rooms. Nothing missing even compared to fancier hotels. As written in the title, Just perfect.
Highly Recommend Staying Here
We came to Montpellier for just 3 days and 2 nights. We found the hotel to be clean, the staff friendly and courteous. The morning clerk spoke excellent English and gave suggestions on how to get around and what to see. The hotel is conveniently located near tram stop. You can get to main train station and airport from there. The hotel is just a few stops away from Comedie and the beach. There are also Monoprix, Carrefour and places to eat within walking distance.
Overnight stay
The hotel was modern and comfortable and although outside of the centre, there are good transport links and there are some good bars and restuarants nearby. The staff were efficient and very helpful albeit that we only stayed for one night
1 night stay in montellier
great hotel, very friendly staff.
Mac
Great hotel a little difficult to find
Beautiful hotel with amazing staff--really enjoyed our stay!
All good but the heating didn't work
Convenient friendly hotel - good food
Hotel in good position little away from centre but tram lines cheap and close to hotel. Friendly staff.
Perfect hotel for a week in Montpellier
Delighted with this hotel, for a very enjoyable week in Montpellier with my wife. It is ideally situated vis-a-vis Montpellier's excellent tram system, yet extremely quiet at night. Very modern, clean and comfortable. We hope to visit Montpellier again, and would not consider any other hotel here.
Convenient and comfortable
We used the excellent trams to get in and out of the old centre of Montpellier, and enjoyed seeing something of the more modern parts.
Very convenient location
Hotel is very conveniently placed for the efficient trams that run very frequently to the city centre. A day ticket costs just 4Euros. Hotel pool a great asset during the very hot weather. Hotel restaurant fine for breakfast, good selection for hot food and continental buffet, but evening bistro has a very limited menu.
Very helpful staff. The bathrooms, especially the walk-in shower, are a delight. The swimming pool is open for 11 hours a day and the water is hot. The food in the restaurant is excellent.
Business in Montpellier mixed with pleasure
I am from the USA. The comfort of the hotel and the incredible staff made this stay very good. I would stay both again for business and for pleasure. Nice location, great facility, great food and well run. I cannot say enough about the staff.
Fantastic short break hotel. Although some way out of the town centre, the trams stopped outside the hotel and were a great way of getting about - very frequent and cheap! The hotel is in a newly-built area, which has a few very good places to eat just seconds away. The restaurant in the hotel itself was also very good. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the hotel was extremely clean and comfortable yet modern. The pool area was lovely, in full sun all day - though there were sun umbrellas if you preferred shade! We had a fabulous time and will definitely return. Thank you.
A certain reception staff member needs reeducation on customer service. Don't leave people stood at the reception desk without acknowledging them
Incompetent reception Staff. Beware.
Make sure to check your bill. Don't trust the staff at reception: they are misleading and incompetent. No concept of customer service. Very disappointing (as facilities and rooms are nice).
Lovely city and good hotel
Stayed 1 night on our way from Provence to Northern Spain. We were able to book in early and the room was well equipped. My son and his wife had a more expensive room with balcony and bathrobes etc but they were staying longer. Quite a walk from the old town but the tram stops outside the hotel and run frequently. Worth making the effort to go to the old town to eat rather than the Paragone area which is what you pass if you walk to the old town
european summer
great friendly service, nice parking facility, clean and welcoming
Very nice hotel in a nice envirorment
Pleasant hotel on edger of Montpellier
Chose hotel because we were going to travel out of Montpellier a lot and while not central it is on the tram route into central Montpellier. We had a balcony room which was spacious and very pleasant. Breakfast was included in our tariff and was very good. The staff were all very pleasant and friendly. The bar is quite over priced but par for the course and a local bar round the corner was pleasant and 50% cheaper. Hotel parking was quite secure.
Grwat hotel for the city centre
First rate hotel very handy for the city centre and next to a tram stop. The staff were very friendly and welcoming.
Wonderful hotel
The hotel is new and the beautifully appointed. The staff is friendly, the bed was comfortable and the shower is great. There are restaurants within walking distance and directly across the street there is a train stop which is 7 stops away from the old town. We loved this hotel and highly recommend it.
Snooty Reception, but nice hotel
Nice, clean, modern hotel with high comfort and utility. HOWEVER... Front desk girls were extremely rude, sarcastic, and immature. Unbelievable the lack of respect that we experienced. We told the manager the next day, but not sure if anything was done to correct this.
Location is very good
The hotel is well located to the wonderful tram system. It is comfortable and clean. However, in my room there were numerous mosquitoes which had been squashed into the walls and roof, which did detract from the attractiveness of the room. Also, I arrived back at the hotel just before 3 o'clock, after a long day of walking around Montepellier, to find my room still hadn't been cleaned! All I wanted to do was relax so I resigned myself to no cleaning and put up the "Do not disturb" sign. They did ring through to enquire whether I wanted my room cleaned but by that time I was settled in for the afternoon.
Highly recommended
Really comfortable hotel, only 2 stops away from the centre on the tram, which is 2 minutes walk away. The staff were really friendly & helpful and the hotel very comfortable.
Manager was excellent
We arrived late but the manager was absolutely fantastic. The restaurant had closed but he prepared two lovely platters of food for us. We had been travelling all day and this meant so much. The manager is one of the best we have experienced. The room was excellent as was the breakfast.
Cool base for Montpellier
Nice pool, charming staff, even helped my son find a skateboarding park
Fantastic hotel walking distance from old town
Brilliant hotel and facities we were well looked after
Rooms with Balcony Not good
I paid extra to get a room with a balcony. However, the door to the balcony does not seem to be sound proofed. The balconies are separated by small handrail type of divide. People were outside having a drink at 1am, they were not being loud but we could hear every word they said. It was like they were actually in our room. At 1.30am i insisted on a new room. The hotel downgraded our room (cost of complaining), because we had booked with hotels.com they would not refund any money, but they gave us free parking!! Whoopee.
Great hotel, would stay there every visit!
This was our second time at this hotel and the experience was just as good as the first. Location is great with tramlines just outside leading you into the main towns. Staff were very helpful and spoke English (handy as our French was embarrassingly poor). The hotel was clean and comfortable with tea and coffee supplies. I definitely intend on returning.
Hard to find but very nice place, good location. Very quite inside with good noise stop windows - very wufi throughout the hotel
Hotel Satisfaction
Generally good stay but one very important issue not attended to concerning Health & Safety. One of our group was a retired senior fire officer and naturally he reviews the fire warning in hotels in stays in. He told reception on three separate occasions that the Fire Door on the Fire Escape route from the first to the ground floor did not open. Reception pledged to have it repaired but it never happened, in my view this should of lead to the hotel being shut down. CAUTION - Check your escapes before turning in for the night.
Functional Hotel
Out of downtown but local tram system which stopped outside hotel made everything work OK.
Business stay
+++ very comfy, very clean rooms --- no desk-blotter : impossible to use a laser mouse on the desk as it is made of glass... no documentation : impossible to learn about breakfast hours, services, neighborhood etc... without calling reception no price associated to the mini-bar -- need to call reception again no feedback form : impossible to provide a feedback on the Marriott website or even in the hotel, you need Expedia to do it coffee machine in the room delivers more coffee than what the 2 provided little glasses can actually hold... which results in a coffee flood eventually... and I probably forget some. All in all, it is a great, clean and nice hotel but it is run by people who have never actually stayed in their rooms and who completely ignore the "practical" real-life aspects of their customers... And as they have no feedback process in place, I don't see how they can improve. At this price (it is not exactly cheap), I was expecting a much better service. Shame.
Nice hotel next to tram station
Really nice hotel with very helpful staff. The tram station is right next to the hotel with easy access to the centre of Montpellier.
Weekend at the Marriot Courtyard
We booked 2 rooms and only one was ready on arrival at 4.00. Check in was slow. Advertised happy hour from 6.00-7.00 only relates to beer!
Good for all
Modern, clean hotel with friendly, helpful staff. Fantastic breakfast selection.
Below average service
The hotel itself is nice. The swimming pool is very small but it was fine for us. The staff, however, were lacking in some basic customer service training, and two were particularly rude. It's a shame as I would expect a higher standard from a hotel chain like the Marriott.
Loved it!
I travel a lot and I was very impressed with this hotel. Loved the clean, modern and comfortable decore. The location is a bit out of the centre (a 10 mintue ride on the tram, will take you to Place de Comedie, the main square). However, I just loved the hotel itself.
So nice
Fascinating place situated in a prime location overlooking the Hotel de Ville courtyard, this hotel is a most to visit & stay.
Montpelier
Great stay, lovely city
Better for business travellers
A modern hotel located just outside the city centre but adjacent to the tram line and place Jacques cours so easy to get around. Rooms were a very good size and had lovely bathrooms although ours had a shower only, some had baths. Request this if you want one. Tv had no British channels other than news channels and there were no films available to rent. Bit disappointing particularly as our stay included a bank holiday when nearly everything was shut! Staff were helpful, some spoke better English than others. But all had enough for the basics! Pool is small (about 20 sun loungers) but is a nice spot in a city centre. City is still growing and this hotel is probably better suited to business travelers than those wanting to be in the hustle and bustle. Car park reasonable at 12euro per night. Well worth a tram visit to the centre for nice shops and a walk up to the peyrou ancient viaduct. Lovely crepe restaurant 5min walk from the hotel at place Jacques cours, you can even have a crepe burger!! Amazing. Serves food all day and do a great cafe frappe :) you can go water skiing on the man made lake facing it. Beautiful patisserie 5mins from the hotel, turn right out of the hotel, walk over the bridge and follow the tram line you will come to it on right. Cakes are fantastic!!
helpfull staff,clean comfortable room
Superb hotel
The hotel is situated in a nice part of Montpellier, with great public transport into the city centre. It only takes a few minutes to reach the train station and main shopping area by tram. I stayed for 7 nights in April and would definitely choose this hotel again if I return to the city. The room was modern and large for a French hotel. The bed was large and very comfortable. different pillow choices too. The bathroom had a great big walk in shower and was new and super clean. The towels were soft and fluffy and there were bathrobes to use too. Shoe cleaning machine next to the lifts is a nice touch. I didn't eat in the hotel as I wasn't impressed with the offering - there are so many great restaurants in Montpellier. Free parking is easy to find in the area, so don't pay the €12 a day charge.
nice and quiet stay good service
1 night stay lovely quiet room comfortable with all amenities bar nice however my club sandwich had chicken bones in so i wasnt impressed by the food was out too early for breakfast would stay again!
Stylish new hotel
Brand new and very stylish. Only drawback is that it's a 15 minute (EUR 1.50) tram ride from the Place de Comedie, the centre of Montpellier.
Lovely weekend break
Rooms good size and spotless with all facilities, although my husband would have liked to see more sports channels in the room and bar. Friendly staff. Great breakfast. Excellent transport links to centre. Pool closed on our visit, still too cold.
Overall very good hotel
The hotel was very good overall. Some pros were 1. parking available in the hotel underground carpark though costs €12 a night. 2. very well connected with tram station right in front of the hotel, takes 10 mins to city centre. 3. walking distance to Antigone which has good number of restraunts. 4. Staff was very helpful and pleasant. Cons 1. slightly removed from city centre, though ideal if you have a car.
Wonderful Experience
Having been allowed to check in more than three hours early and being greeted by a charming young woman who spoke excellent English, our stay was off to a great start. The room was spacious and the decor was modern and stylish, with lime green and aqua splashes of colour. The balcony would have been great if the weather had been warmer, but it was nice to have the option of fresh air when we felt like it. The bed was excellent and the linen top notch. While we were close to the front of the hotel, and therefore the trams and traffic, the double glazing on the windows kept all noise to a minimum which was important to me. The bistro attached to the hotel was great - the food delicious and the option of a small continental breakfast for 6.50 Euros suited us. We were very pleased with the day trips we made around the area and loved the 15 minute walk into the old town along the river. Am so glad we decided to make our base in Montpellier for three days and felt that the hotel was excellent value for money and an altogether great experience. A special thank you to Sarah on the front desk for allowing us to check in early!
If you are driving there, you must be aware that you cannot pull up to the parking lot and phone the reception. You must leave your car unattended and visit the front desk before they let you in. This is very inconvenient, but at the same time, perfectly French. Other than that, great, clean hotel!
New Hotel, Top End of Courtyard Properties
The Hotel is new. Everything works and is well maintained. The property is very nice, and at the top end of the Courtyard chain. The location is good for business. Parking is awkward. Next to numerous walking paths and trials, and two of the four city tram lines stop in front.
Excellent
The staff were fantastic, very comfortable room and the restaurant attached to the hotel was delicious food and superb value. Overall it is a cracking hotel and I would recommend it highly.
Perfect stay
Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice location. Good food from the restaurant. Will definitely visit again :)
