The room is noisy and not clean.

The WiFi was good which I needed for a Zoom meeting. Although the property had a pool it was only seasonal. It's in a pretty good location, there's a laundromat near by if you don't want to pay for the pricey hotel laundry service.

The room is very clean and the staffs are very friendly. The location is very convenient, it is very close to the shopping center and the train station.

My wife and I enjoyed our stay at Courtyard Marriott in Shatin. Location is great with great eateries nearby and is close to both the MTR (subway system in HK) and bus stations. It also has direct public airport buses (A41P) to and from the hotel. Staff were friendly! Special commendation to Mandy Lo (front desk receptionist), Joanna Suen (housekeeping), and Michael Chiu (Ass. Concierege). Their service have been excellent and should be recognized by the management team. They certainly made our stay very enjoyable! Kudos and thanks to them all!

Do not stay at this hotel. Considering it is part of the Marriott chain it feels like you are staying in a place where the staff at the front desk do not care about you and all they want to do is take advantage of your financially this is not what you want when you go on a relaxing holiday. When we booked into the hotel they insisted on taking our credit card details ' as a deposit' even though we had paid in full via expedia. They insisted that they would not take money from the bank account. Three weeks later they have not returned £375 into our bank account. We have had to chase them over this time and they still have not paid the money back it's like we have been robbed by the hotel. How many other guests have had their money taken and what are the hotel doing with money that is not theirs?? We booked a special package for breakfast which included a gift of snacks and some money on some octopus cards we had to ask for this and we felt like we were being a nuisance Staff at reception were really unfriendly as above but our cleaning lady was very nice

Hotel was ok - nothing amazing. Concierge - some of staff were pleasant enough but not as friendly as other Courtyards we’ve stayed at ( 2 of the concierge’s were amazing so don’t want to make out they’re all the same ) Rooms were of a good standard and cleanliness. Check in was easy although the $2000 deposit held for 2 weeks after departure was a bit of a shock as I’ve not paid a deposit for a long time ( that’s what a credit card is for I guess ). For a short stay in HK it’s a little far from many tourist spots but for us it was nice to be a little further out and get the MTR to where we wanted. The hotel was great value for money and somewhere I’d consider on a future trip.

Not happy about the an extra person fee.

as a good experience during my stay. House keeping, front desk and restaurant staff were all helpful and friendly. I booked the executive room with two double bed which supposed to sleep three. My booking was for myself and my two teenagers. Upon check out I was charged an extra person fee of $660 HKG. I was not happy about this, so I contacted hotels.com to try and resolve this issue. Unfortunately, it took two agents and an hour of my time for hotels.com to offer me $150 in credit (first agent offered $100 credit which did not cover the extra person fee). I would have much preferred a refund to my credit card. The first agent kept saying the room type I booked was for one person (a room with two double beds is definitely not for one person), but the agent insisted on telling me I was wrong. I provided screenshot of the room type I have booked and it clearly stated that it sleeps three. Overall I was very disappointed with the hotel for charging the extra person fee and the time it took hotels.com to come up with a solution which I am not satisfied with.

Cons: Will take you some time to travel to main points/tourist areas Carpets in the room - if that’s not your cup of tea Receptionists could be more welcoming and friendly - the guy who “assisted” me at first was quite arrogant. 4-5 starts hotels I’ve stayed in they’d allow guests to check in 30min before time or enjoy the pool. This was NOT the case. Cleaners & restaurant staff were nice though

Front desk clerk was so confused; he initially claimed my credit card was denied then waited for me to check with my bank before he claimed it was actually fine; then after a few days of stay ; they stuck a letter into both rooms and indicated I must address payment issues again at front desk! Just a horrible experience! This hotel no longer deserves my recommendation as I have referred many friends and relatives to stay at this hotel in past years!

Damp hotel room with cockroaches crawling on table

What an utter disappointment. Found cockroaches in the room as soon as we arrived, was a massive hassle just trying to change rooms. Not only that, we went on and found stray body hairs on “new” towels in the next room. Felt uncomfortable during the whole stay, room felt damp and smelly. The lobby and common area stink of sewage odour, and the heavy fragrance they use can’t cover the smell. Told the concierge and they shrugged it off like it’s no big deal, no apologies given.

Great stay many transport options

Great stay to visit my father in ShaTin hospital which is a single bus stop away boarding from the bus stop across the hotel. The rooms are quite spacious for Hong Kong with decent maintenance. Air con is very quiet and pleasant enough to sleep through and the breakfast was fair although not the widest selection. Good sized parking area and easily accessible to many convenience stores including 7/11 and Circle K.

Location a little inconvenient to get to the East Rail line stations if travelling only by MTR. I.e location is physically very close to Sha Tin and Fo Tan stations if you take the local buses. Google maps works very well.

Beg bugs

This is my 2nd time staying here. On both occasions, I experienced bed bug bites all over my body. I complained the first time and thought the hotel will remedy this. However, this 2nd time, i was again bitten by bed bugs. I complained to the hotel but was told that I need to get a doctor's certification proving my bites were from bed bugs. I am truly disappointed by this.

It’s really convenient to stay there. I can go anywhere with the metro. The only deficit of the hotel is the Sound insulation is not good. I believe that will be the hotel I may choose for the next trip to HKG

Was here for a conference at the Science Park. The hotel was conveniently located to get to the conference. Was easy to get a bus to the conference location and to the airport. The train station is a short walk. The room was clean and well maintained. No complaints at all. I also thought the breakfast buffet was much more than satisfactory. Would stay here again.

Stayed here 16 nights. Location very convenient to get to places, near a metro station (Shek Mun) and bus routes on door step. Lots of decent restaurants all walkable distance and a MacDonalds next door if you are feeling lazy! Favourite local restaurants has to be Master Congee and Sha Tin Buddies! There are lots of places to eat that suit all budgets.

First time I have stayed here (16 nights) and was not disappointed. Public transportation was convenient - short walk to metro and bus stops just outside. Lots of nearby restaurants, Sha Tin Buddies and Master Congee were my favourites! Found MoMo (on level 2 within hotel) a little on expensive side but could not fault food. Would stay here again.

Good sized rooms for HK; handy convenience store and McDonald's next door. 5 min walk to MTR and plenty of buses from just outside the hotel. Functional gym, decent pool - but only open from April 1st. Good quality hotel in decent area. Good selection of shops and restaurants in the vicinity and 10 min taxi ride to New Town Plaza for serious shopping.

Doesn’t have any sign for direction to Car park can have lift for carry your luggage to Lobby. walk up stairs and escalator? Environment policy for hotel not provide water bottle unless you ask for. Everywhere selling plastic bottle drinks ? Carpet is not very clean . bed Frame is like bought second hand . Don’t have bathtub .

Highly recommended for its location with lots of shops nearby, comfortable and clean rooms, and walkable distance to the Shek Mun MTR station and bus to the airport! The hotel also has a complimentary shuttle that takes guests to MTR stations further away at certain hours.

Business trip with times outside the ordinary.

The room and the hotel are not suitable for business trips. My room was dark around the desk area and the room service or food service operated in very limited hours. If you are there for business and have your own requirements outside of the ordinary, they are not flexible. For example an simple omelette could not be prepared after 10:30am. A burger could not be prepared at 11:30pm.

Nice hotel with spacious, and well designed rooms. Just a 5 minute walk to MTR (subway station) where there are lots of local restaurants and shops. Our room is on the 17 floor with a beautiful view of the river. Really enjoyed our stay.

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE

We had booked 1 room for 3 adults for 6 nights from 31-Dec-23 to 6-Jan-24 through hotels.com after paying more than HKD 2400/- EXTRA for 3rd Adult on and above the basic room tariff. To our utter disappointment, while the hotel mentions 2 double beds, they are in fact slightly larger single beds and only 1 person can sleep on 1 bed. They are much smaller than queen beds. Despite of highlighting and discussing this concern, the Hotel desk manager was very rude and did not offer any suitable resolution. One of us out of 3 had to sleep on floor with 2 duvets as they did not provide a rolling bed or mat. I have stayed in various hotels across the globe over last 20+ years of international travel, but never faced an issue like this that caused us great discomfort and inability to get good nights sleep for 6 nights of our stay. I am keen to raise this grievance with highest level of management in hotels.com and in Courtyard by Marriott for cheating their guests.

T.Lee's Stay in Courtyard Sha Tin

The hotel is relatively new and being maintained well. The location is just a few minutes walk from the Shek Mun MTR station. The room is clean and spacious. The staff is polite and helpful. The pool was closed during my stay. It is a nice place to stay in as long as you don't need to travel to downtown a lot.

We stayed at a room facing the river. The view was stunning! The room was super spacious and well lid. We can stay in the room all day long looking at the view. We travel a lot and this is the best hotel experience we have ever had!
