No hot water in the room for 4 days of my stay. Apart from this - no other issues. Had a great stay.

No room available but handled well

Got to the hotel to be told that there was no room for me as the previous guest had failed to check out. Instead I was sent to another Marriott about 15 minutes away. Not really that convenient. Having said that, the replacement hotel (Marriot Seestern) was nice and the process was handled quite smoothly: A taxi was organised and in the meantime I was given a drink and offered to take snacks from the "market" free of charge. When I arrived at the replacement hotel they knew I was coming and were very apologetic. So not ideal, but they did as well as they could given the circumstances.

Booked and paid for two double beds. Told upon check in that we would have to wait later on in day off two double so said that’s fine. Came back later but still not available. They said they would bring an additional single bed. Not good enough for £245 per night! In the morning when we mentioned this at checkout, the lady with blonde hair was rude and was suggesting it was my fault saying ‘oh yes it’s always our fault’ when I explained that her colleague told me it was their fault!

We were there for BOOT in Dusseldorf. The hotel was perfectly located and we slept well. EVERYONE we encountered was friendly and accommodating. Loved the breakfast bar with the honeycomb :)

Great Stay

Great staff and location. You can walk to the city centre , in 20 minutes. Route is next to the water, so we enjoyed the walk. Rooms are clean, but a bit dated. Not what we are usted to, by Courtyard. Nevertheless, great stay to visit Düsseldorf AND park your car free.

Don't get courtyard view

You would think that a hotel called Marriott Courtyard would have a pleasing courtyard like in their logo. I picked courtyard view and was surprised that the courtyard was a wall. This hotel has few rooms looking at the canal. Other than that it was OK. Internet is SLOW. Not good for FaceTime.

Good Stay.

A most enjoyable stay.

This hotel is in the Harbor/business district. I booked it for our visits to the Christmas markets and was very happy I did. The staff was excellent and very accommodating and helpful with my lack of the German language. I enjoyed breakfast and the two dinners at Julians the hotel restaurant. It was a little tight in the parking deck but then all parking decks in Germany seem to be that way. I will definitely consider staying here again if I’m ever in Duseldorf again.

Last night of our week long Germany trip. Three cities, four hotels. This was our last night. Best night of sleep I’d gotten the whole week. Happy they had hair conditioner and an ice bucket. The lady who checked us in was absolutely wonderful. This hotel had the best service of the four chain we’d stayed at. The room was spacious and beds were comfy.

Great location, right at the port, with access to the path along the river, 20 min walk to city center. Surrounded by many restaurants and cafes

Friendly staff and amazing breakfast. The receptionist and grill chef were extremely friendly and accommodating. The internet service and computer system at front desk was out several times slowing down check in and check out.

We were there during the most expensive week of the year. We paid almost 4x the normal rates for this I courtyard. I was angry that I was being taken advantage of and was sure that I’d find every small throng wrong with the hotel. I was mistaken!! The staff goes so way over the top in service and personal care, that the exorbitant price I paid seems like a good deal. We really appreciated the hotel, and felt at home the whole time.

The location and property are splendid. The staff was very helpful too. The Rhine being just 5 mins away makes it a really nice location to stay at.

I booked 3 nights at the hotel but on arrival I was told I have only booked for 1 night, there was few issues but overall my stay was OK.

Avoid this hotel

Poor customer service. On my arrival I was told first night was overbooked Was sent in a taxi about 20 mins. To another lower standard hotel. The following day when I tried to check in the keycards system was not working. The whole experience was extremely disappointing

Paid for a harbour view room. Was given a room on the first floor with a view of the construction site. I checked in late but felt like I was ripped off. Pictures of the rooms are misleading. They took payment for the room off my card (subsequently refunded) even though I had paid through Expedia. Everything was tired and too much hassle. Not what I was expecting for the prise.

Very comfortable bed and plenty of space for a standard room. Quite a long way from the exhibition centre 30 Euro’s each way but the tram plus train was quite easy too.

Good standard and clean rooms. Convenient parking.

The hotel had a lot of construction around it making it very difficult to get there. They only had 15 parking spaces and refused at first to give us one. When the did they said it was free because it was the hotel space but then charged us 18euro for it the next day. Staff was very rude and refused to let us talk to the manager. Nothing good about this Marriott hotel and will never stay there again. Even a multiple Marriott member with no help there.

Great hotel

The Marriott at the harbor is very nice, the location is good with lots of restaurants around and 20 min walk to the Altstadt. If you come at the wrong time you might have difficulties to find a parking spot but there are some parking garages close by.

Guest agents should be more professional

Guest agents need some training on how to treat people- the training will help them to be more efficiently in future. I booked for a parking at the hotel when i checked in. i was surprised when i came in the evening at the hotel and find out that guest agent couldn't confirm my reservation and thee wasn't a parking available anymore.

Nightmare

unkindness staffs. too dry room. very limited parking space. construction area not safe.. no spa (please remove from facility list) If you lost your property, just forgot it... they would not try to find for you.

Excellent location, right Next to my event site

Good location, right price. First time in Germany, English speaking staff. The only issue is that at the moment there is a construction site right in front of the hotel.

Lovely hotel-in Hafen; modern architecture area!

Loved the fresh fruit in my room, being close to the Rhein, a rooftop patio off the fitness area, very reasonably priced reataurant with excellent food, highly accommodating staff, view at b’fast!

Great Location

Really pleased with our stay at the Courtyard By Marriott in the Media Harbour Dusseldorf. The harbour view rooms we a really good size with fabulous views. I usually stay at the Radisson Blu here, which has always been fine, but will gladly return to the Courtyard on my next visit. Highly reccomended

Good hotel

Comfortable stay. Good and helpful staff. Good breakfast. Good sleep in the comfy bed. Location is a stones throw from the rhine tower and along a nice walk by the river to Altstadt. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

nice hotel in quite part of city, just used as a base so did not use many faculties.very clean,staff excellent .Transport links good and also plenty of resturaunts in the area.

OK hotel been to better in Dusseldorf

this hotel is ok for a couple of days the bar is not too good and the breakfast at 19 euros isn't worth paying, there are nicer hotels nearby.

Dishonesty in services

Though we have paid in advance for the booking of 2 days. They have swipe my card saying in case of if you consume anything we will charge. During checkout we asked if anything pending ( though we know we haven't consume anything ) they said nothing and now my credit card shows there is an amount charges but not claimed of 9000 rupees. Awful. I suggest others not to swipe cards.

Amazing architecture in the area with an abundance of excellent restaurants and walking areas along the river. The hotel restaurant Julians has a terrific chef and the staff are so friendly and helpful. Wonderful food choices and a huge buffet breakfast with the chef standing by to make any kind of hot entree.

Excellent property let down by lackadaisical staff

While the hotel was well located and room very comfortable , service levels were shoddy. Our requests for providing tea refreshments daily were not honoured even on repeated reminders, and on one occasion, it was flat out refused when we tried to order room service. So the property management really need to think about how their shoddy service levels are putting off potential repeat customers who are willing to pay the premium prices but wont bother with this hotel again, especially when Hyatt and Radisson are round the corner in Hafen.

Lovely Hotel

Booked this at the last minute as initial hotel we booked was disappointing. The staff here were lovely, the room was a good size and clean and comfortable. I really cannot complain about anything.

Lovely hotel within walking distance of the centre. It is very quite and clean but if you get a room on the side of the hotel the view from your room is poor.

The room went from $238 pet nite to 90 for Friday and Saturday? They really screw the business traveler when they can.

Dusseldorf - A Great Little City:

Really great hotel - Good standards and service, but not stuffy or traditional. I liked the informal atmosphere in the bar and Julien's restaurant - Which is great. The food, menu and prices are first class. Big room and free wifi also appreciated. Free bottled water in the room and fresh fruit daily at reception. It's the little things that constantly add up in this hotel. But to put the icing on a superb stay was 'Zeinab' and the girls in the restaurant. Always welcoming, warm and lively. Nothing too much trouble for the staff. The Area (Media Hafan) The old docks is full of historical references to the city's past. But very cool and trendy with magnificent architecture (I love Gehry) A great marina and cafe-society vibe going on in Hafen. Couldn't stop snapping away with my camera. A perfect antidote to the boisterous Altstadt - which is only a 15 minute stroll away down the banks of the Rhine. Highly recommend this hotel and Dusseldorf as a city. Room Tip: Try the hotel restaurant specials - Price 8 Euros and quality food, brilliant!

Extended city break.

Extended 3 city leisure break in Germany. Really liked this hotel and this area of Dusseldorf. Hafan isn't as loud or tacky as Altstad. It can seem a little quiet, but some good bars and restaurants in and around the hotel. The Coutyard bar and restaurant are also good and very reasonbly priced. Great architecture near by. Which I loved - and if you do need to visit the Altstad, then it's only a 15 min stroll down the Rhiene!

Great Location

We only had one night to see as much as possible of Dusseldorf and this hotel was perfect. My wife and I walked along the river to the 'Old City' where, as luck would have it, a street fair was happening. We found everyone so friendly and to find Dusseldorf so clean and bright, devoid of NYC claustrophobia.

Great hotel

We stayed over the Christmas break and found the hotel to be very helpful and welcoming. The room was quiet and spacious with a view over the docks. All the staff we encountered during our stay were exceptional. Breakfast buffet had a large variety and the chef makes a great omelette to your own ingredients. The location is good with easy access to the Rhine and 15min walk from the old town via the river. Overall our stay there was relaxing and comfortable.

Only one lift was working and that was proving to be difficult.however,mother location of the hotel by the riverside was great ...fantastic to run along the river. The restaurant was great too with good options for vegetarians like me.

If you want to stay in the new Haffen zone of düsseldorf this is a very good option for a good price.

Great Getaway near the River

This is a great little hideaway near the river. If you have business in the middle of town its a little way away, especially with the sometimes horrendous traffic in this town. Otherwise, first class.

This was ideal for us, though it did require a cab ride into town.

Definitely recommended. They need some work on the customer manner from the odd member of staff and the hotel is probably approaching the time for a style revamp (although it is still more than acceptable) but otherwise an excellent stay and one I have used many times over the last 12 years so there is a consistency about their standards.

developing wharf area--nightlife abounds

Hotel is in the emerging river wharf area on the south-side of DUS, surprisingly convenient to the airport via the underground highway. Nearby are 3-4 trendy restaurant nightclubs loaded with Ferrari's, Lamborghini's and Porsche's. Nice view of the city from the river; the main cafe and shopping districts are a 20 minute walk along the river.

Quick city stop. Air conditioning could be better.

We only stayed one night. The room was a good size although the air conditioning was set thoughout the hotel too warm. I know it was exceptionally warm outside but this meant that it was stuffy though out all the public areas. All mod cons provided. Great staff and it is ideally situated for a short walk into the city.

Fit for purpose

This hotel did it's job. It was a good location but I would have expected more from the quality of the rooms. The big disappointment was the lack of free wifi - something from the dark ages

In Dusseldorf for a Wedding

My wife and I were in Dusseldorf for a wedding and chose this hotel based on its proximity to the restaurant venue. It was a comfortable hotel, with polite and helpful staff. We arrived early and they allowed us to check in, which was a nice gesture. The room itself was spacious, clean though it did not have a view (except of the stairs and other rooms), and some items were not replenished (e.g. complimentary bottle of water, shoe shine). However, this was promptly rectified with a phone call to reception who sent someone to replenish the items. My two main complaints are: paid wifi & the hotel's location to other parts of Dusseldorf (it was hard to get to by train, and quite a long walk to the Old Town). Despite this, they offered 10 minutes free Internet usage including free printing which I used to print my boarding pass. Overall, a good quality hotel; if you are intending to tour Dusseldorf though, you might want to find somewhere else with a more 'central' location.

We were very pleased with our stay at the Courtyard in Dusseldorf. The facilities were very nice, the staff went out of their way to accommodate our needs, and the restaurant, Julian's, was superb. We ate there both nights of our stay. They offered fresh seasonal foods in clever and extremely tasty presentations, and the wait staff was excellent. The only slightly negative is that the historic area is a good 20-minute walk from the hotel, but it's a pleasant jaunt if the weather is good .
