Lovely stay, perfect for what we needed. We landed late so it would have been better if they offered room service but not the end of the world.

Comfortable bed and pillows, spacious room. The grout around the bathroom tiles in the shower was discoloured, didn’t look like it had been cleaned properly on a regular basis.

I recently stayed at Courtyard Cologne during my birthday, and while my overall experience was satisfactory, I encountered a significant disappointment. The hotel itself was clean and generally pleasant, situated in a charming location just a 5-minute walk from the historical Northern Gate. The amenities and environment met my expectations for a comfortable stay. However, I was profoundly disappointed with the service regarding the special occasion of my birthday. The staff had assured me that they would arrange something nice to mark the day, but unfortunately, this promise was not fulfilled. Upon inquiring, the reception staff simply apologized, attributing the lapse to miscommunication. This was particularly disheartening as it was a special day for me, and I had expected the hotel to honor their commitment. This experience marred what could have been a delightful stay. It is unfortunate that such a promise was made but not delivered, leaving me feeling let down on an important occasion. Overall, while the hotel itself was clean and the location was excellent, the failure to deliver on a promised gesture significantly affected my experience.

American staying at Cologne hotel

Location was good. Breakfast and restaurant were excellent. Size of the room is very small compared to American hotel for the price. Air conditioning was a pain to operate. Staff was very friendly.

Within a short walk of cathedral. No parking at facility when I arrived, staff was unhelpful and dismissive of the challenges finding parking. AC did not function properly in room. Staff solution was to provide a fan. Not impressed

Good location and very clean. I disliked the frosted glass bathroom wall/door. It reduces privacy for the user, reduces noise insulation from the bathroom and reduces the light insulation too so it disturbs the other person still in the bedroom. It doesn’t make sense, especially in a twin room.

Really well placed for visiting Cologne. Excellent service and breakfast delicious and plentiful. The parking was very handy but be aware that it does cost. We were happy to pay knowing that the car was safe. We’d definitely stay here again.

Horrible experience, no parking at property (hotel has 100 rooms, they only have parking for a portion of that, hotel is in middle of city, shower flooded bathroom (2" of water throughput the bathroom), when reporting the issue, they responded "oh, that again" and finally moved us to an alternate room. Hotel heat was 80F throughout (great if you like it hot), very uncomfortable if you don't. Staff not helpful addressing problems, - took us 2 hrs. to find alternate parking!!! Would not recommend.

Clean, staff friendly, great breakfast and everything in walking distance

A nice hotel conveniently located for Cologne town centre and the famous Christmas markets. The room was nice and well appointed. It was very clean apart from a large make up stain on the carpet. The communal area could do with regular hoovering as the carpet was in a poor state. The breakfast was great and plentiful. The staff were lovely and helpful. The biggest issue for us was the bed. We both woke up with back pains. It’s a shame as it is a nice hotel however we wouldn’t come back due to the quality of our sleep.

Hotel is close to the train station and Cathedral. It mostly caters to business travelers. If you are not there for business, there is an extra tax per person they charge, they said is charged by the city.

Extremely friendly and helpful staff, nothing was too much trouble. Kindly allowed early check in and looked after our bags on our final day with us having a late flight. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was great value, as was the overall hotel cost. Hotel a short walk to the main train station and central hub. All in all can’t be faulted.

The hotel was great but it was hard to get a good night sleep when it’s still hot weather and there’s NO A/C. Breakfast was very good too.

Bery high room rate due to in city event, which was expected. But, a charge 23 euros for a breakfast, when all we wanted was,a cup of coffee and a roll is crazy.m

Gym equipment is very basic, aircon is missing and no mats are provided for floor based workouts.

Great location and approx 10 minute walk from the main train station. Just several minutes walk from a selection of dining options ranging from fast food to dining. The hotel itself was very clean and all the staff were very friendly. One thing we noticed was we didn’t have a fridge in the room which took us by surprise. My husband needs one to store his insulin. My sons room had one so we queried it. Apparently only rooms on 5th floor have refrigerators and they must have forgotten to take out the one in his room. Mmmm not so sure. However to their credit they had one delivered to the room. Breakfast, there was a variety of a cooked breakfast or continental along with cereals, yogurt and fruit. All in all a great stay.

The hotel was an easy 10 minute walk from Cologne's main railway station. Checking in was easy. My room was very clean and comfortable but a selection of pillows would have been nice. If you do not want a large breakfast, then 23€ is a bit steep. My room overlooked a main road but I was not disturbed by traffic noise and the hotel itself was quite even on the two Friday and one Saturday nights that I was there. I would certainly stay there again.

This hotel is fantastic. The rooms are huge and super clean. The person who checked us in was so friendly and gave us recommendations for the area. The hotel itself is a few mins walk away from the main station and cathedral. The other side of the road there is a supermarket if you need any supplies and plenty of restaurants within close proximity. There is also a tram stop 5 mins walk away. Highly recommend.

Room was good. But bathroom was really small. Silverware were not cleaned properly. Room service was not available in evening for some reason. Food in restaurant was amazing

It was a great location for being able to walk in the main city and also down to the Rheine. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The staff were warm and welcoming and couldn't have been more patient with my attempt to speak German, they even went above and beyond to try to help me with the language after I explained I was trying to learn it, which I truly appreciated.

Great stay in Köln!

Check-in was fast, just had to fill out a form with our basic info/passport number. Staff was very friendly and spoke english well. Room was basic but spacious, bathroom was nice and clean, along with the rest of the room. Hot water kettle and instant coffe and tea were in the room. Parking is on site, 24 euro per night. 5-10 minute walk to the train station and cathedral, so not too out of the way of the action. Would stay again!

Warm welcome from reception. Immaculately clean room and wonderful breakfast despite Corona restrictions. Added bonus, electric car charging available right outside the hotel which was essential for us.

Nice hotel in quiet location about 10 minutes walk from the cathedral. Spacious nicely furnished double room with walk in shower. Friendly staff. Would definitely recommend.

The only downside was we asked for a twin room but we given a king bed as all twins were booked

Rooms are a good size. Shower is good size and has good pressure. Location is ideal for being slightly out from the noise of the town centre but being less than 10 minutes to the train station (dom).

There was only one body wash and one tea and one coffee in the room with no water. Even in the lobby was no water. The staff were not friendly. Just saying it is what is it. Very disappointing.

All in all, the hotel is really nice with everything necessary. The only draw back is the first morning at 9 am, the housekeeper knocked the door loudly while I put the “Do Not Disturb” sign at the door during my sleep, which made me very scared.

The hotel is ideally situated on a decent arterial road through the city, near the railway station. It is within easy walking distance of the Cathedral and the River Rhine, with all the boat trips etc. It is very quiet within the hotel, the rooms appear to be soundproof too.

Room is clean and stylish. Staff is friendly. Nothing bad, deserve a 5 star review. Parking is a little bit expansive, but I assume it's about the same as all downtown hotel. However, would be nice to be cheaper as the parking lot belongs to the Hotel itself not government or others.

Fantastic hotel within walking distance of the train station and city centre

My wife and I stayed at the Cologne Marriott Courtyard for five nights. Clean, spacious, and comfortable corner room. The neighborhood is excellent--proximate to the central rail station and near excellent restaurants, a grocery store, laundromat, and even one of the grand Cologne city gates. We plan to return!
