Clean and good service
Checked in, only sheets no covers. Went to ask desk person for blankets or covers, she asked "why, does your heater not work or you don't know how to use it?" Um, the beds only have sheets. She had to run to "the back" to find blankets, acted as though it was a huge inconvenience. Appearance ok, value not great for the quality. Charged extra to change days.
Nice place

Property was clean and safe.
Great experience
Very spacious and clean
The hotel and staff was fine…the location was good for me as it is close to my son’s home and I was there to visit him
It was out dated
Affordable and nice
Affordable relative to other centrally located options, plus it’s clean and staff is nice.
Room was clean and quiet.
i loved it
No complaints
Everything was great!
Great stay
The staff was very nice and professional. The room is clean and comfortable.
All the staff were nice and very friendly.
We enjoyed our stay. The staff was very helpful in event of an unexpected emergency.
It was not what i expected but it was okay.

I chose Courtyard by Marriott because of the brand, never had a bad experience-until now. It was extremely run down, very old looking. The room itself was muggy and humid and never cooled off. The bed was awful. After a 4 plus hour drive we hoped to rest but that’s far from what we did. The mattress seem to dip/bow in the middle. If we moved any it sounded like the whole bed would collapse or fall apart. My son just moved to the area but I will definitely rethink stay here a second time.
Unsanitary
Hotel was dirty with clogged shower drains, broken TVs, and stained pillow cases
excellent employees
Employees very cheerful and helpful
Property was clean and staff was kind.
Peaceful
Everything was spotless , everyone was friendly. Exceptional check -in. Front desk lady was very professional . Keep up the great job.
Good value for money, nothing exceptional
Excellent staff!
Great experience in every aspect!
Staff was very friendly checking me in.
It was great as always.
My room was never cleaned and on day two I asked for it to cleaned and it still wasn’t. I called the desk to say garbage hadn’t been taken and she asked me to bring it down to the front desk. I took it down and she took the can but did not give it back. I asked for it back. She made no attempt to apologize even after I told housekeeping had not once been to my room. The room smelled moldy
Was convenient to UT where I was taking a course. Not walkable to shopping or restaurants. The restaurant in the hotel was alright. And the water pressure in the shower was none existent.
No hot water in the shower. The staff claim it will be fixed, but it was not. We had a cold shower and left. Are is not near the university, It’s actually 20 minutes by driving
Very nice stay highly recommended
Horribly check in!
Not so great.
I was told before I came that there was no pet fee. Then at chk in, i was told it was $80. I cked in early, requested a room away from highway noise, but was not accommodated. Ice machine on 7th floor did not work. There was only one pkg of coffee in room and it was decaf. Bed was not too comfortable.
Water pressure was low and tv didn’t work. Needs a renovation
A/C didn’t work in bedroom portion
The air conditioner in the bedroom portion did not work….instead just made a ton of noise. I turned it down but sweated all night and the noise kept me up all night.
Great hotel, conveniently located with friendly staff.
Good facility with extras
Good facility with extras
No Warm Water and a Plugged Tub
The recycle bin was appreciated. BUT no warm water at a Marriott? I had cold showers for two days and the tub kept filling with the cold water.
Staff were very helpful and friendly
It is kind staff
Quick stay
Everything was great, a nice stay. Only suggestion would be to make the comforter on the bed thicker. It was not cozy, very thin bedding.
Property seems older. Room had a stuffy smell almost like that of trapped smoke.
Not like my usual stay at Courtyard
The room was adequately clean. We had to call for more towels as there were 3 on the reservation but only towels for two. We were told room service would not have come during out 2-night stay, but they did and rearranged out belongings causing us to leave our warm jackets behind. We needed them for our return trip to frigid New York. We’ve not heard back even though we filed a claim for them.
Nice hotel; few minor details
Attractive hotel. Staff extremely pleasant. Complaints: no microwave in room. Small fridge did not have freezer compartment. No cloth bath mat. Otherwise, very nice room, comfy bed, nice linens, QUIET! I requested a room away from elevator/stairs -- that was honored.
Faucet was lose Light switches hidden Hot water took forever
Very nice and clean room. A few small issues: the coffee bar is only open until 11am; it would be nice if you could get coffee in the afternoon. There was also no clock in my room, which was a little strange. But overall it's a great place to stay if you're going to a concert at the Moody Center.
The hotel was average. It was a little dated. Stayed in the handicapped room. It was ok except the toilet was very low, so hard to get up. I would suggest if the room is for handicap people, you get a raised toilet seat.
I like the service at this hotel. the staff was very nice and extremely helpful when it came to needing towels and other room amenities.
The location is quite good but you can easily miss it as the sign is not big enough
Customer service was wonderful. Only issue i had was a sign advertising Starbucks 24/7 and they only had coffee and that was for a linited time of day. No frappuccino for me! Lol. Overall, we had a great stay!
charge me 2 times $140
No hot water for shower on second morning.
Bad location
Fire alarm set off twice in the middle of the night couldn't get any sleep will never stay at that hotel again
Staff were friendly and helpful. I did not like that they only made up room on the third day of your stay. Staff was willinh to give clean towels everyday
The bed was horrible
It’s good place to stay, shopping around, quiet and safe.
All good. I would stay there again.
I like the property. It’s convenient and nice place.
Changed rooms 3 times. Every room smelled like mildew. One room smelled like smoke after we showered.

The staff was just terrible other than Morrison. Whoever was working the night shift on 11/10/23 had a very bad attitude problem and seemed as if he did not know anything. They made things a lot more difficult then they needed to be...we are humans - just communicate - why do people at the front desk always need to have a "god complex" ridiculous customer service and wont be going back. It was so difficult to communicate with him.
Had a little bar and was close to a lot of the main attractions.
Older hotel needing upgrade. Nothing is complimentary such as lobby coffee. Room service was inconsistent. Tried to get empty shower gel replaced for five days and never happened. Exercise room very small and not even floor mats are provided. Access to hotel is via a busy one-way access road. Much better places to stay in Austin as we later found out.
I booked a stay through Expedia. Two separate reservations. Both under my name and paid for up front. This was for a business trip with clients. I had 1 reservation for myself - 1 room. 1 reservation for my clients - 3 rooms. 2 guests per room. I had 1 set of clients leave after 1 night which should have left their room free for me to fill with a guest doubled up in one of the other rooms. The hotel filled my room with a new guest and told me my guests checked out. My name was on the reservation. I did not check out of that room. One of my guests was required to stay doubled up in his room from the night before when a room should have been available to him. If there is one name on the reservation for 3 rooms and 1 of the 3 rooms is "checking out" the staff should know to check with the person whose name is on the reservation if the room is being vacated. I'm not happy about the hotel double dipping on this room and would appreciate a refund on 1 night for 1 of the 4 rooms I booked through this website.
Not a fan, would not recommend
We walked up to room 921 and our keys would not open the door. We had to hit the door several times with full body slams for it to finally open. Once opened, we were hit with a smell of terrible sewage. Next we noticed that our door had no peep hole and it would not lock. We called the front desk and told them how bad our room smelled and about the door that would not lock and requested to be placed in another room. The man responded by saying “We have no extra rooms and I’m currently trying to find rooms for 14 other people at the moment. I’ll send maintenance up to check out the lock.” Maintenance replaced the battery on our door, but the door never locked. Wasn’t great for 2 young girls to be staying in a hotel with a door that would not lock. He didn’t even acknowledge the fact of how bad our room smelled, I guess that’s why he made the irrelevant “14 other people” comment to us? What do 14 other people have to do with our experience and our stay that we paid for?… not quite sure. Anywho, won’t recommend this place and won’t be returning.
Staff was excellent, room was excellent, felt safe and secure!
There's a shell and a restaurant walking distance from the hotel.
Advertised as much better and cleaner than it is. Would not stay again. Staff was good. That was it
Really nice property. The in-house restaurant is deceiving as food closes at 10a on weekdays and 11am on weekends. Great location. Very close to university and downtown areas.
No frills.
Our stay was nice and easy. Check in was easy and the staff was friendly. The room was nice and ready. We did notice the TV was not working properly and the hotel quickly moved us to another room with a smile. We also had breakfast at the hotel which was delicious and and fun because of Ms. Temple. I would stay here agin.
There was a huge parking lot and no parking fee. The room was a good size and it was comfortable and clean. The staff was very kind. This location also has a small bistro shop in the lobby, which was very cute. Only downside was that it was cricket season and they were all over the parking lot and following us into the lobby.
Staff was exceptionally kind! Room was lovely! The area for a few miles around seemed a bit sketchy, but the hotel is clean and beautiful. Would definitely stay there again! Go see Albert at the bar, you will not be disappointed!
Estadía placentera
Hotel agradable, cómodo, buena atención del personal de recepción y del bar, habitaciones amplias, cómodas, limpieza diaria, recomiendo cejillas de seguridad en la habitación
Amazing service at the Starbucks bistro by Nicky. She is very kind and nice. The chef is excellent, and she is great!! They made us feel at home, and I will definitely come back.
We were there in a hailstorm - not unusual for Texas - and there is no covered parking. The room was short on towels and coffee supplies, but this was a quick remedy with the staff. Room not cleaned very well - bath not fully cleaned and I found a dead cricket on the far side of the bed, but the sheets were clean and the hotel is in a super convenient location.
The only real complaint is the area didn’t seem the greatest but was quiet but yet conveniently close to the freeways so everything was easy to get to.
I love the hotel
I will return
Place was good They are in the process of remodeling and that doesn't bother me but I'm sure some yuppies would have an issue and I'm sure when they are complete it will be a great place
All good thank you !
Sub par at best, over priced.
I was there for 3 weeks. Some days the housekeeping forgot to clean my room. One day they put water bottles in my room, not the rest. There were coffee cups once I arrived but they never got refilled, even after asking. There were only two friendly people at the front counter, the young lady who was there when I checked in and Mo. Mo was always very happy and going above and beyond to help. The hotel is run down, the updates are done poorly. My bathtub never drained fully and the A/C didn't get below 77 the whole time I was there. For the cost of the nightly rate I really expected more. Will not be back.
Cannot Recommend
The Marriott Austin-University Area is not in the area of the university. It is not convenient to university events. It is in a very worn down, desolate area with a significant homeless population. It is not walkable to restaurants or bars. The hotel itself is extremely worn and needing updating in every way. Our bed sloped in the middle, bathroom was old and stained, walls were stained, and lighting is insufficient and falling apart. Over a 4 day stay we had maid service once. We had to contact the front desk to get fresh towels. People who work in the hotel are friendly and helpful, but it doesn't overcome the shortcomings of the hotel itself. If you are in Austin for university events there are other hotels that would be closer, in a safer area, and more updated. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
Pet owners beware. They will charge a $150 non refundable fee for your pet. Travelocity/Marriott have no updated information. I notified Travelocity there was nothing they could do. Please go to another pet friendly property. Carpets are old, the ceiling is peeling off and stained tub had rust. We did not use the tub. They just got bought by another management team and they had a notice that they are doing cleaning and upgrades to the exterior. The location look unsafe. Graffiti and homeless near by. We were lucky nothing happened definitely happy to stay for one night only.
Nice clean and quite.
Much lower quality than expected from Marriott. The room was lacking maintenance, was fairly dirty and there was absolutely no hot water for showering. The location wasn’t too far from downtown but there was almost no amenities within walking distance.
The lobby area gave me a good impression but not the rest of the property. The hallways smelled funny and also my room like humidity.
Weekend trip for a birthday
The mattress was quite soft and we rolled to the center of the bed. Also, we wanted to use the pool on Saturday evening, but it had some trash and a little debris, and what seemed to be a film over it. That was disappointing. I was really looking forward to some pool time.
Everything was excellent The only think I can complain is that the water was 5$
Our room was the highlight of the stay, no issues there. Step outside the room door though and there was black mold in the hallway due to high moisture. The hotel had humidifiers on full blast to try to mitigate. However, someone cleaned/treated the hallway area for the black mold with bleach but now the entire area smells of bleach. The bleach smell did dissipate throughout the day, but my wife is pregnant and she could smell the bleach from our room. Lastly, the hotel is located in the north loop area of Austin. The actual location is clean but the area around is less desirable, i.e. homeless living in the underpass, trash and debris in surrounding area, and etc.
Good location..only negative thing about our experience was that we were given a dirty room when we checked in but they gave us another room after we informed them
Great customer service.
Will stay again
I loved it. We spent 4 days in Austin and the hotel staff, rooms, comfort level ...all wonderful!
Recommend
Hotel staff was amazing only issue was that I was a bit humid when we entered the hotel did have a certain off smell but our rooms were cool as soon as we entered no smell in our room and spotless clean
Excellent
The room was very very nice! It was very clean and staff was so nice! Fantastic place!
Bad staff

Old and run down- the mattress was so worn it actually sloped to one side. Bathroom linens were clean, but threadbare and were long past replacing. Dusty and parts of the room had broken stuff that was never fixed and just left looking wonky. The curtains had dark red splatter so that was gross. I was glad my stay was only one night and would not return for another stay.
