Disappointed
I accidentally booked 2 nights instead of 3, so when we checked in I immediately booked an additional night. It was more than double, but I figured that was my fault since I booked late. They had us move to another room for the last night because we “booked a better room.” It was not better. It was much smaller, very loud due to being right in the street (very late into the night, noise in the middle of the night and very early). It was hot and we couldn’t open the windows due to mosquitos and we still had many bites. The hair dryer didn’t work, so they had another hair dryer, but nowhere to plug it in in the bathroom. The mirror in the bathroom is so far and a light out, so I had to do my makeup on a compact mirror in the main room. Also, the first room had small pillows doused in some kind of perfume and it was very bothersome. Will not stay again.
Great location, very clean and staff was very helpful and attentative.
We were in a room at the top of the property which was considerably colder than the lower levels. Breakfast was poor. Convenient for St Marks.
Great central location to explore Venice. Family room was good size for 2 adults/ 2 children. Hotel is a very old building (to be expected in Venice) so had some trouble with water leaking into our room due to heavy rainfall. Other than that we did enjot our short stay.
Nice old hotel
Great location and nice service, but small bugs in the room.
Great location!
Overall great stay! Super friendly and helpful staff. Central and close to so much, easily walkable. Beds ok in comfort. Great air conditioning, spacious, clean and spacious washrooms. Great for a family or couple to stay.
Very friendly and helpful staff.
This place is discussing, has bed bugs everywhere, i took pictures. I want a refund, we did wven sleep
Had a great stay
Front desk were all very helpful. Recommended great restaurants off the beaten path, very helpful with booking water taxi and showing us around at check in.
Overall OK
Great location, super staff and great breakfast. Love the common areas. The room, however, felt cramped and there was a funny smile, probably from a cleaning product that I did not appreciate.
Staff was really helpful and friendly. Elevator will help.
Very good hotel. No elevators, only for luggage but not for people and not for every floor. Great breakfast. Dead center to everything.
What a wonderful and friendly staff very nice giving us information about the area and transportation
Staff were phenomenal, room size was extraordinary, breakfast was good. Overall highly recommended.
Very convenient location. Staff were very friendly. The breakfast was plentiful and definitely a bonus to have. However, Our room smelled like sewage. I read a review of this problem and assume it is only in a particular room. A room beside if the breakfast area. The smell permeated our room but was very bad in the bathroom. We covered a grate on the bathroom floor with a towel and it seemed to help. We were only there for a night so we decided to stick it out. Other than that it was a nice hotel, friendly staff and convenient location. Adjacent restaurant was very good.
A very friendly hotel. Recommended
Extremely helpful staff. Great breakfast selection.
Great location. Friendly staff
Nice hotel, staff were great super friendly. Great location close to everything.
Staffs were always nice and helpful. Breakfast was good. Rooms were nice.
Nice large and very clean suite in the heart of Venice. My family of 4 had plenty of room to spread out. Breakfast was tasty and on-site. Would stay again!
This was the perfect location for our Venice stay. It is only a 5 minute walk to San Zaccaria Alilaguna boat service (for water transfer to airport and other island stops) and 8 minute walk to St. Mark’s square. You do not have to maneuver suitcases across bridges to get to the hotel from the boat stop. They have a luggage elevator inside so you do not have to carry luggage upstairs (no elevator for people if that is a need). The location was very quiet with 2 excellent restaurants adjacent to the property and a fabulous Venetian/Carnival mask shop 3 buildings down. We will definitely make sure to stay here again if we return to Venice. Our room had a king size bed, 2 twin beds for our kids, and a private full size bathroom (shower only). The staff was very friendly. The room was beautiful, comfortable for our family of 4, and clean. We left early at 5:15am and they even put together breakfast bags for us to take with us to the airport.
Not Kid Friendly
Good location and standard accommodations. What really frustrated us is a charge of €15/night for a portable crib for our 1 year old that we had to use even though we brought our own. No real explanation except that it was “policy.”
This hotel is in a convenient spot close to San Marco and many dining options. Desk staff were all very helpful and even gave us breakfast to go because we had to check out early the next morning. I would definitely stay here again. There are no elevators available and all rooms are either on the 2on and 3rd floors.
The staff is so helpful, warm and friendly.
1 of our 3 rooms did have bed bugs (room 103) My body is covered in bites. If they fix that... this hotel is the best location, great breakfast, very friendly staff.
The staff are very accommodating and helpful to people who is 1st time in Venice and very courteous. The breakfast is good and very quite hotel and highly recommended to everyone and beside that near the St Mark Square and easy transportation if you want to go to nearby l land and very clean.
Its good
Friendly staff and great location. Decor a little tired, but clean and tidy with a breakfast included.
Staff welcomed us, attended to our needs, and answered our questions about seeing Venice. Location was very convenient to St. Marks Sq and many other sights. After check out, We were able to leave our luggage and freshen up before heading to the airport for a late flight.
Convenient location property looks better in pictures than it does personally, the property could use some Renovations in the bathrooms but overall pretty good I stayed at a family sweet canal view awesome close to piazza San Marco
Great and beautiful location! Friendly reception!!
Centrally located yet still charming
Great location, friendly staff, clean and spacious room
I love this hotel! The staff was so nice it’s in a great location. I had a quad room and it was so big. They actually had American coffee for breakfast which I was so happy to get. Would definitely stay again
Excellent breakfast buffet
Wonderfully helpful staff!
We loved the hotel! It was so close to Saint Mark’s square and in the same time out of the busy area of the city. There is a canal infront of the hotel and 3 restaurants, which was very convenient as well. We will definitely stay there again.
Great hotel. Be prepared for mosquitoes in the area.
LOVE Venice!! Great place to stay!!
One of our worst experience. The room was not what looked like from the web site. The beds were in worst condition. I never expected a hotel in prime place with top dollars would have some old cheep beds. The curtains only covered half the window with so much light coming into room from outside. I would never again would stay in this hotel and I would not recommend anyone unless they update the room with good bed, linen and decent cabinets. The elevator was not working and staff weren't courteous. When I asked the directions to public water taxi, he gave some reason and wanted to arrange a private taxi. Overall one of the worst hotel experience. Venice and Murano are wonderful places a must visit and we love to come back again and certainly stay in better place.
At the price point, this hotel has a lot of period charm and the room was a good size. Only downside was a very small shower and the absence of a full length mirror. Staff was friendly and helpful. I would stay here again.
Quite convenient location and easy 3 minutes to San Marco ferry stop
Great location in Venice with very helpful staff.
large, close and perfect
Wow! A room with a view of the canals of Venice. Amazing! There were three beds for 4 of us (family with 20-something kids) and the room was large enough for us all. Walking distance to the major sites. Breakfast was great. Service amazing! We will definitely stay there again.
Venice charm, great location.
Our special nights in Venice
We stayed in this hotel for two evenings, perfect location room sizes were very large and clean… Also free breakfast… Got a love it
Locality. The rooms were lovely and clean and the bathroom was lovely, shame about the negatives to the property
We came in to Venice on a weekend with no reservations and got this hotel for one night. We were put in the only downside room, it was small but the bathroom was huge and it had everything we need. The only thing I didn’t like was that it faced a courtyard that had a bright light on all night. Staff was great, breakfast was great and it’s a cool place and close to everything.
Thoroughly enjoyed 8 nights at Corte dei Greci. It is a converted palace and has a boutique feel to it. Hotel very clean, and well air conditioned, Our room accommodated our family of 4. Plenty of room for everyone and their luggage. Breakfast was very pleasant. Especially appreciated the convenience of a delicious cappuccino, juice, fresh baked goods steps from our room. Hotel was great value for the price. 5-10 minute walk from St. Mark’s Square. The hotel staff was very friendly and attentive.
This property has the best breakfast based on individual basis! And the place for breakfast was great! It was elegant and with great service! It was super clean and the staff was very helpful and super kind! We will go back to this place !
Staff very helpful. Great breakfast included. I will stay again.
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING STAY!
Family break
Lovely place to stay, room very big. Ideal location for sight seeing.
It was a beautiful property. It was a little tricky to find and the sign at the front door is very small and would be easy to miss. However, the receiptionist who checked us in was very helpful and friendly . Our room was clean and quiet. Couldn't really fault the hotel. Breakfast was nice. Would stay here again.
This was my second stay at the Corte Dei Greci and almost certainly won’t be my last. A lovely hotel in an excellent location - just a stone’s throw from the sights of San Marco but tucked away from all the tourist hustle and bustle on a quiet Fondamenta. The staff could not be more welcoming, friendly and helpful, always on hand to answer any questions you may have. The rooms have a traditional Venetian style and are well maintained, clean and comfortable. Breakfast is perfect to set you up for the day ahead - served to your table (due to the pandemic I believe so whether this will change in future I don’t know) based on a form you fill in on arrival indicating your preferences - but any extras/changes are perfectly possible when dining. If you need to leave luggage after you check out until later in the day, this is also possible which is a great help when on a later flight. All in all, a perfect base from which to explore this enchanting city. Thank you to the staff for always making me so welcome and ensuring a comfortable stay - I look forward to seeing you again next time I’m back in Venezia!
I recently returned from a 4-night stay at the Corte dei Greci and couldn’t recommend it more. A lovely little hotel in an excellent location just off the San Marco waterfront but tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the main tourist haunts so it is nice and peaceful. The hotel was very clean and felt very safe in the current pandemic circumstances. From the moment of arrival and throughout my stay staff were welcoming, friendly and super-helpful. As a buffet breakfast is not possible under the current COVID rules, you fill out a form detailing what you would like and this served to you each morning (you can still ask for additional items as required) I am a fairly regular visitor to the city and would happily stay here again.
didn't smell like a clean room, very poor breakfast, could hear the footsteps from upstairs because of the wooden surface since it is an old building.
Would stay again
Perfect location. Very clean, lovely comfy bed. Staff very helpful.
The hotel's rooms, style and quirkiness were good. The breakfast was not so good.
The hotel was beautiful, very elegant, and the staff was amazing. Superb service, even packed us up a breakfast to go as our flight was leaving very early in the morning. Would definitely come back again!
5 minute walk from San Zaccaria taxi area. This hotel was in a great location with 2 very good restaurants outside the door of the hotel along the canal. 7 minute walk to St Mark's Square, so far enough away to avoid the main noise. The staff was awesome, always at the front desk or very close by. The front door to the hotel was very secure at all times. The room was nice with a very nice bathroom. Lots of room for 2 people and luggage. The twin beds were pushed together and the division was barely noticeable, which we appreciated. Air conditioning worked great with remote. The hotel info books in the room could be updated. They said you had to pay for wifi and breakfast, but that is not the case as both are included in your stay. A good place for the price, we recommend.
Ok for the price. Location is why you book here.
Excellent location. Room did not resemble website pictures. Particularly small room and uncomfortable bed. Perfectly clean though. Staff were nice. I didn't mind having hand over the room key to reception when leaving for the day. Some might. It's how they track who is on site apparently.
A gem on San Marcos!
this boutique hotel is located in a quiet area on San Marcos and is a real gem. We got upgraded to a suite, not sure why, so we had 3 beds and a sitting area in the room. The air conditioning was great (hard to find sometimes!) and the staff was very friendly. The rate included breakfast too. It was a perfect location, as you are close to the square, but back a few streets on a quiet road, overlooking a canal. The only drawback I can think of is the elevator only goes to the first floor, then you have to carry bags upstairs if you are on floor 2, but the staircases are very wide and the staff helped us carry them. the beds were a bit firm, but roomy and I had no problem sleeping! I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this hotel.
Wonderful historic hotel, very close to st Marks,
Would go back
The hotel was as adverised. Very good location in relation to St. Mark's square and vaporetto stand on Grand Canal. The breakfast was ok and the coffee machine was great. The bed and bath rooms were clean. The AC was very good in our room. The staff were very friendly. The only reason I went low on comfort was that the bed was pretty hard. But having stayed in a couple more hotels in Italy, that may be the standard. Over all a great stay.
Corte Dei Greci was quite good, but not great. The receptionists were helpful and accommodating. They were very helpful at storing our luggage at check in (we checked in early) and check out times even though their storage area was small. It was at no extra charge. We reserved a room for three, but they gave us a room for four. Our room had beautiful chandelier and furniture. The same for the adjacent hall where we had a nice breakfast ( there were many breakfast rooms.) The room was clean, quite and charming but we had issues with the electric outlets. They didn’t have enough outlets, and not all of them worked. We had to use the outlet in the bathroom to charge our phones. A room for four should have more outlets. The other surprise was that they didn’t have coffee machines, which is unusual. Also, when we asked about how to get to S. Lucia train station, we got different answers from different receptionists which was very confusing. I would say it’s good, but you should get more for what you paid.
Could be better
Great location, very central. Hotel was very old fashioned, however very friendly staff. Breakfast area is tiny, and breakfast is extremely limited!
Fine stay
Great location and the staff is very informative and friendly. The breakfast was lacking with no fresh fruit or options other than breads. The coffee/hot beverage dispenser was not hot enough.
Great value small hotel in an excellent location
The hotel has great character and is in the heart of San Marco. Staff are friendly and helpful. The room was big enough with air conditioning, fridge and private balcony. Great value and would stay there again.
A very odd hotel with an unsympathetic management.
Guests are greeted by a steep, 21 step climb directly from Reception with no passenger lift - a challenge for me with a broken hip. The room was clean but served by an eccentric air conditioning system that provided either seriously cold temperatures or allowed a daunting build-up of the day's heat. The hand control did not work and the system appeared to be operated from the reception desk. My original booking for 17, 18 and 19 July was, for legitimate and understandable reasons, incorrect and within a hour had been amended to 19,20 and 21 July giving ample time for the hotel to re-let the rooms. The manager refused to make any changes or refunds, insisting that two separate bookings had been made and as a result I paid for two nights when the rooms lay empty and one night when we paid twice for the room we were occupying. In addition was the prospect of "no show" fees. The added cost to me of this lamentable episode was Euros 312.20 on top of the cost for the time we actually spent in the hotel.
Nice Hotel. Conveniently located
This was a very pleasant hotel in Venice. Not luxurious, but comfortable. The staff was friendly and very accommodating. The location is very good- nice walk to St. Mark's and the grand canal. Shops and cafes right outside the door.
Bathroom dangerous
My son got hurt trying to get out bathtub after shower. Way too big of step for anyone
Room was small but not uncomfortable. The people at the reception desk were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the location.
