The location of property is very accessible to the the town and near the garden.
Spent two nights at this property. Had a non smokering room which we thought was great as none of us (4 adults) smoke however the entire room was stinking of fried fish. Quite a task getting rid of the smell. Other than this, our stay was quite comfortable. Room was a duplex, bedrooms upstairs and two balconies with lake views that was amazing to wake up to, basic amenities though no hair dryer or personal care kits. Parking was available on site though on first come first served basis so no booking or allocation. Would definitely recommend staying here, especially for the views.
Fantastic views
Amazing views from balcony of surrounding mountains and lake Large living room and beds super comfy Stairs led to bedrooms - which was a challenge with a one year old Basic cooking equipment and Laundry access Two bathrooms and toilet down stairs so good for families 10 minutes to walk to town steep hill Restaurant down stairs only used once
Would stay again.
The room was spacious and clean. The view was awesome. We like the spa tub, there was room for 4 adults and 1 child. The beds were comfortable. We used the washer/dryer (one dryer did not work well, but we managed to get our 4 loads done). We were happy we got a parking stall. There are stairs to consider though. Breakfast was good, a number of choices to choose from.
The rooms are generally ok but be aware they are pretty old buliding and the floor cracks whenever you walk !! Also do not risk taking your car as theres no guarantee for available car park and the car park size is terribly small you will have a challenge to fit a mid size car
There was a plumbing issue in the washroom which resulted in water leakage from the sink. Also it was the exact same spread in the breakfast buffet across 4 days which was monotonous. Apart from those 2 issues everything else was fine. The location is excellent with beautiful lake views and access to public transportation. The town centre was walkable and the property had ample parking. Staff was friendly and eager to help.
Great location in front of the lake, spacious rooms, amazing service, free parking.
Beautiful lake view. Excellent location.
We had the two bed apartment , amazing views very clean but in need of an update and the whole place needs freshening up re paint work and general fixing up. But those views are perfection. Pros: the views and location. Cons: Restaurant and Bar a zero as neither were open and for the price that needs to be rectified. Overall I would still recommend especially with family’s
Accommodation was average, the room was very stuffy, and decor was very dated. Breakfast didn't cater for gluten free options
Massive balcony overlooking the mountains was the biggest catch. The hotel is nearby to town markets.
Nice, comfortable motel for the price but don't eat in the restaurant. Grilled rib-eye steak was full of grissle and more like a small piece of stewing steak, the meal size was more suited to a child, very disappointing.
Beautiful views.
We loved the lake view from our Superior Lakeview Queen Room. We were also surprised to find a kitchenette in our room which was un-expected but useful. The bus stop is right outside the hotel which is very convenient and a great way to get around Queenstown. It as a easy walk to and from to the shops / cafes and attractions. The hotel needs some refurbishing but in saying that it is clean and tidy. We would stay at this hotel again.
Great view and convenient location Looks as if due for some maintenance Sachet coffee was awful Switch for beside lamp had fallen down behind shelf
Not recommended. Property and room is pretty outdated and this is not reflected in pictures. Location is good as it's a short walk to downtown Queenstown.
It was overall a great place to stay very kind staff and lovely people
Just great!
Great! Comfortable bed, fluffy pillows, crispy clean smelling sheets. Staff are friendly and helpful. Location is super convenient. Just 10mins walk or 1 min bus ride to City Center. Orbus Buses to the Airport and Arrowtown is right in front of the hotel. Hotel is also a pick up point for private tours.
Staff were friendly and helpful only poor reception for internet need some new furniture Excellent customer care
good stay
We are quite satisfied with the stay. The room is spacious and comfortable. Staff is friendly. We checked in at noon time on a rainy day. The staff at reception understood that we had nowhere to go in the heavy rain. She is very considerate and let us check in early.
Good value for money, handy. Didn’t eat there so can’t comment. Probably showing its age in places. Very clean and nice rooms, staff were lovely and helpful
Room was fantastic and cleanliness inside was great. The cleaners were lovely and the front desk staff were amazing. Outside the building could do with a general clean, the entrance driveway had a huge pothole which I hit a couple times which wasnt great as I have low profile tyres on my car.
Road works around hotel
It was a bit noisy as there was road works out the front
Need better maintenance otherwise location is good
We had a wonderful and comfortable stay. Their breakfast was great!
Good
Fairly disappointed that this is a Copthrone hotel. I booked because the Copthrone chain are normally 4-5 star. This is any but. The place is completely empty and heres why; Firstly I was put in a room on ground level right next to road works. I complained and was told that my almost $200 a night was only for a ground floor room and if i wanted to upgrade it was $40. I agreed hoping my stay would get better, spoiler alert, it didn't! This hotel looks like the set of an 1980s horror film. The decor is stuck in the 70s with horrible patterned carpet and scary florencent lighting everywhere. Absolutely every light socket is florencent. The bathroom had cracks in the wall paper, marks up the wall and dirt in the corners. There were basically no amenities offered other than an abitary shower cap, shampoo and conditioner. No hair dryer, no moisturizer, nothing. The hottub was absolutely disgusting. The water was filthy. Half the jets were broken, head rests broken, floating around in the murky water. Oh and its an indoor spa which you guessed it, had florencent lighting. It gave me the absolute creeps, decided not to use it. They even charged me a security deposit... for what? The place is in desperate need of repair and renovation. I can say hand on heart this is the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. For an extra $20 I could have stayed at the Hilton. This could be a great hotel with renovations, even just changing the lighting would help significantly. Instead its empty.
Amazing location great staff beautiful views and nice and close to the cbd
Had a great stay , staff were great. Good location not far from everything. Plenty of parking. Rooms were great plenty of room for the family. Happy to recommend to all.
Fantastic staff. The rooms are clean but a bit tired in areas. Not too far from the town centre and next ro bus stops
The view is awesome
Friendly staff and beautiful view! The apartment was comfortable for our family of four.
Very good
A great hotel for a quick overnight trip to Queenstown. A 15-minute walk into town, so saved on the parking expense as there is onsite parking at the hotel. The room was a good size, and the beds were incredibly comfortable, our room also had a beautiful view of the lake and mountains too. The Staff at reception were very friendly and helpful. We would stay again.
very nice!!
Handy location with parking available. Comfortable stay
Was fine for what we needed for a two night stay, room was clean and tidy. Staff at reception were really helpful and courteous. 10-15min walk into CBD. It was good
Loved the view. Staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. Thanks for the wonderful stay.
Don't do it! I booked this hotel because it was cheap and because we were on a short action packed ski trip, where we would only be in the hotel to sleep. Unfortunately sleep was impossible due to roadworks happening all night long! The heavy machinery made the whole window vibrate and the sound of beeping reversing machinery went on all night, every night. The hotel duty manager was lovely and understanding, possibly the only good part of this stay. Apparently the roadworks have been happening for three years! Unfortunately the hotel has no legal obligation to let patrons know about this until their stay is underway. The hotel itself is dated, in need of maintenance and obviously understaffed as the bar/restaurant was closed on all but one of the days. The spa/hot tub you find in photos is broken and not operational. Air flow and ventilation is so poor that the bottom of the window becomes full of condensation on a daily basis, prompting the cleaners to leave the upper window open. Unfortunately this window is big enough for an adult to climb through, not great when you are leaving expensive electronics in the room. Do yourself a favour and spend a little extra and pick a different hotel on a different road. Such a frustrating experience!
Was adequate for the cost. Happy to stay again
Great experience at the Hotel
Very dated. Staff not particularly engaging. Loud banging constantly throughout the night. Very expensive for what it was. Wouldn’t probably go back.
The propert is old and has very limited facilities. The buffet breakfast has limited offeribgs and is average to poor quality. The rooms ( 2 x queen bed) are large, but dated, as is the bathroom and shower. There was a lot of noise from cars in the road out front and noisey guests. I found the staff to be pleasant and helful though.
little outdated
Great views clean and warm easy parking and access to main town Shower was awful no water pressure and outside of building could do with a clean/maintenance upgrade getting a bit tried
Happy with everything the property had to offer. Great location and can easily walk into the Town Centre in 5-7 minutes. Only complaint was there are no microwaves in the hotel rooms…
although old, it is near city center, free parking
The room was too hot…
We had a great stay here after being concerned about negative reviews after booking. Friendly staff, clean and tidy facilities and exceptional daily room cleaning. Yes it’s an older building but it’s well maintained and well priced. Breakfast was average however improved a bit when it became busier (when school holiday visitors arrived) but nonetheless a good start to the day. It’s a bit far away from the city centre plus up a hill to walk, so we drove each time. Would absolutely stay here again.
Its a really location but the hotel rooms are a bit old and not really value for money. The property is too expensive for its outlook and interior.
The staff were absolutely amazing! Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend!
The place is okay, it's not so far to city center. But hopefully, I wanted to use a microwave in my room. When I checked in, the receptionist were unfriendly. She showed our room number but didn't explain anything anymore. But the room is clean and good!
Convenient location with an absolutely amazing view of the lake, however the beds and pillows weren't very comfortable.
Nice overall. Breakfast is good
Everything was smooth from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. Bit dated in the room but was clean and suited us. Would stay again for sure.
Nothing good poor room service. Hotel is really rundown staff are really grumpy and not welcoming at all zero stars
The view from our balcony is the only nice things. Around the property isn’t convenient, the conditions of the property is old. The gym wasn’t good at all, besides treadmill they only have dumbbells. The manager on duty wasn’t nice when I asked about late check out, most of the hotel, give at least 1 hour. I don’t think I’m going back to this property again
We completely enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The room we got was more like an apt. Good for families, with kitchen, dining, living room, balcony, and powder room with toilet on the main floor. Two bedrooms on the second floor with both having washrooms each. Masters bedroom has a balcony as well. The view from our balconies was spectacular. Hotel is very clean, very professional, accommodating, and friendly staff. Breakfast was buffet style and was great, so many selections. We will definitely use this hotel whenever we can and highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.
Huge disappointment from Copthorne
Service was excellent friendly and efficient, and free covered parking on site. Unfortunately when I went into my room it was freezing and only had a wall heater, my room did warm up after about 4 hours, the hall way was warmer than my room. There were also no electric blankets. I ate at the restaurant which was a huge regret I got fish of the day which the man serving me didn’t even know what the fish was. Both the fish and chips tasted overcooked possibly from older oil, salad consisted of some lettuce on the corner of my plate. I will not stay here again.
We had a group of 8 staying 3 nights, we booked a 2-bedroom apartment and one superior queen room. We were very happy with the service; we had a bit of a mix-up with the booking company, but this was accommodated by the hotel promptly. Very clean, and polite. There are older elements that could be updated (e.g. tapware and bath etc.) but they do the job just fine for the price, the service and being within walking distance to the waterfront more than make up for this. I have not complaints and would happily book again.
Too far away from centre Walking in winter caused us to be affected by the chilly winds and falling sick.
The view is just as you see it, albeit across the busy highway, which was undergoing construction. It's a 10 minute walk into the city center, which has everything you could ask for. The property is not new, but kept clean. The staff are incredibly friendly and keen to help. The parking is a bit challenging, but after a few attempts, I managed it.
Hotel has 2 wings so depending where you are can be a walk with bags to your room from car park
Everything was as expected and went smoothly. The staff was very helpful and nice.
Room was very spacious and child friendly. Only down fall was the heaters did not work well & there was no option on tv to watch Netflix etc. Overall very happy with the stay
Parking was hard to find on weekends! Happy with stay!
The reception staff were helpful and kind.
The view from balcony was absolutely amazing. The crunches looked a bit old and untidy but otherwise all ofher facilities are nice and clean.
We had a great night's sleep at Copthorne hotel comfortable beds and responsibly quite
Awesome
Love that the bus stops in front of the hotel and is a walking distance from the city center
Good beds, property a bit dated
Good views, roadworks outside, nice staff. Is in Queenstown
Great breakfast but restaurant closed for evening meal
The heater electrical wall switch is faulty, so it's always in On position since it's fused, told hotel staff and they grab a portable heater for us. And I told them it's a potential fire hazard. Also the electrical outlet under the bed side table has bad connection. Beside of these, the staff are nice, view is fabulous. Only other down side is the location is a bit too far from the town center, but it's reflected by the price of it. I would come back to this hotel again if the power outlet are functioning properly.
Nice property overlooking the the mountain
Very comfy bed. Wasnt told at any stage the restaurant was closed in the evening. I guess the cost reflected this but it would have been nice to be told at time of checking in. Suggest that you tell those with cars that there ate 2 levels for parking. Just a little thing but helpful to new visitors.
We stayed here for My sons birthday and for the Anzac parade. The room is worn to say the least, found areas in the room which had been missed by the housekeeping team bit of an inconvenience. Road works were out the front, this is out of the properties control but would loved some information prior booking. Great views, just to many stairs with a 8 month old.
What a beautiful place and view! Thank you!
Walking distance to main city area Onsite parking Laundry facilities
The veiws were nice
Beautiful views, roadworks made it challenging exiting and entering
Sadly it is very dated
good place to stay. nice view
Overall it is really lovely, a bit old property but everything is tidy and clean, friendly staff, tried best to guild us on arrival as there is road works and it was kinda confusing in finding the entrance of the carpark, it would be nicer to know prior arrival. Also the panel heater in living room does't work, which is room 470; there was consitant banging noise in the hotel, always comes with 2 bangs together, which made sleeping a bit worried. Otherwise we would recommend this place for future staying, stunning balconies facing the lake, and has everything we need to stay over.
The stunning view from the balcony of the hotel room.
Badly damaged room, no views (Bushes in front) They mentioned Lakeview, if you need to jump up on a chair to see the lake then it shouldn't be Lakeview. The room has no air conditioning and very dated decor. We had a large gap in our wall with constant humming.
The spa pool was the best part. Hotel was looking a bit tired
Dominic on the front desk, was very unwelcoming, unhelpful and made us feel stressed trying to get information. The description was a short stroll to town….true if you were a mountain goat. When we asked him about buses he said they wouldn’t stop and we could get a taxi. Also told about the road works at the front and if the noise gets too bad come and get earplugs! Apart from that…lovely spacious room, comfortable bed and clean
significant road works around the premises - which is no fault of the hotel.
Was here for one night as a last minute option was reasonably priced being in Queenstown and 5 minute walk to town, there were roadworks happening on the street which made navigating to the carpark a little confusing. Upon check in the staff member notified me that there will be roadworks happening that evening however accommodated me with a room that was up and away from the works which was barely noticeable, first impression the place is a little dated however the rooms & beds were comfy and the views from the balcony were amazing. Couldn't locate the menu for the restaurant either online or in the room for room service upon looking up the restaurant online it said it was closed for dinner service, not to worry though as there were some great uber eats options nearby.
Great location and views!
Great service, great location and very clean and comfortable. Views were awesome too!
Quiet room close to central Queenstown.
Staff were great and rooms comfortable However the exterior of this hotel is dated and needs upgrade
Comfortable accommodation and great beds. Staff were always helpful and very polite. Will be great once all the roadworks have been completed out the front - outside of Copthorne control of course. The weights in the gym facility were great. Treadmill and bike likely need servicing or updating as there was a bit of lag during use.
Spacious 2 bedroomed apartment with a lovely view over the lake. Dated decor, limited and unimpressive food offerings. Housekeeping was usually good but one morning a bed was left unmade, the towels weren't attended to properly and a rubbish bin wasn't emptied - not a big issue really. Roadworks right outside the building were a nuisance but not the hotel's fault.
12min easy walk to town, stunning views from our room
Dated and in need of an update
This is a dated complex which benefits from clever photography. The hot tub is not available so don't book based on using that. While dated, the rooms were clean and comfortable but one of them had no heating capabilities which were needed when we visited. The breakfast was ok.
Great Views
The location of the hotel is excellent with great lake views. The hotel is located in the heart of Queenstown.
