Attention to detail

A contender for fast becoming our favorite place to stay in Christchurch. Unassuming from the outside, The Commodore offers so much more than your standard hotel, beautifully kept native gardens, ev chargers, tennis courts, indoor pool, spacious rooms with their mini courtyards or balconies and a personable restaurant that serves stand out meals. To top it off, the staff are excellent.

Great place to stay .

We arrived at Christchurch International Airport at about midnight and the hotel shuttle picked us when we rang them . Great comfortable room . Wish we had longer to enjoy it . The shuttle returned us to the airport the next day for our flight to Invercargill . One of the staff , could have been the manager , helped us get our luggage onto the shuttle . All staff we met were very pleasant and helpful .

Had a wonderful two night stay at the Commodore Hotel. The hotel is nestled on a tree-lined suburb near a huge park and not far from the airport. The customer service is outstanding and the restaurant stays open late and serves the most extensive menu that I’ve ever seen in a hotel at that hour. Gym, pool and sauna are a welcomed treat for any weary traveler.

Christchurch stay

Huge facility with various "wings" of rooms. Well organized and accommodating. Location excellent if need to be close to the airport, however, property is not on airport grounds. Shuttle service to airport provided. Room was well appointed, clean and as described.

They provided us a convenient shuttle from the rental car return back to the hotel the day before our flight. The hotel is very nice with lots of amenities.

I didn’t have high expectations of an airport hotel but it was great. Clean, comfortable, nice pool the kids loved and the dinner was quite tasty in the restaurant. Free shuttle to the airport at 4am made it all really easy. I would recommend.

Great way to end our trip prior to our flight . Rooms were spacious - and ours backed onto a garden with big sliding doors. Bar and food were enjoyed too !

Lovely hotel

The hotel room was beautiful and very comfortable. The hotel was conveniently located very near the airport, yet not that far from downtown Christchurch. The service we received was friendly and professional. We loved the hotel and would definitely stay there again.

Excellent staff , extremely friendly and helpful. Arrived after several days in a motorhome and a lot of driving. Reception staff picked up that we were returning our rental and immediately offered to pick us up and bring us back to the hotel, a great service. The pool and sauna was a great way to relax and we had an excellent evening meal too. We checked out and were able to leave our luggage for the day and then taken to the airport when we needed to go. We would highly recommend this hotel which was also in a bus route into Christchurch .

We wanted a hotel near the airport and chose the Commodore at random. Staff is friendly, hotel is nice, cleam and modern. My one remark is don't bother with the breakfast buffet, not worth the price (runny eggs and stale bread).

A comfortable stay with everything we needed and convenient for the airport. The breakfast options were good with lots of vegetarian and vegan options.

Excellent stay. Rooms were very clean and beds were comfortable. Restaurant onsite was delicious and the indoor pool was a hit with the kiddo. Would definitely stay here again. Especially with the courtesy shuttle to the airport.

After 3 flights and two days of travel this hotel was a great relief. Quiet, clean, spacious and very well set-up with comfy beds, fast airport pickup, and gracious staff. The restaurant is a little pricey, but the food was good, and after a long journey it was perfect to not go looking for food.

Convenient and Comfortable Stay!

Perfect Hotel for a Comfortable Stay Before Departure! We spent our last night here before heading to the airport and were thoroughly impressed. The hotel is clean, comfortable, and offers excellent fitness and pool facilities. The brunch was fantastic, and the customer service was top-notch. While we chose it for its convenience to the airport, it turned out to be a great all-around experience!

We stayed one night before our flight . Hotel provides complimentary hotel transportation.

close to airport. Shuttle to and from airport. Staff was very nice. We checked in for one night and then checked out, to travel for a few day, but were going to check back in on the 3rd day. They let us store a suitcase there while we traveled. Very convenient.

Convenient hotel close to the airport and some eateries within a 10 minute walk. Bus to the city stops right in front of the hotel. The hotel staff was nice to give us some cash to ride the bus to the city and was adjusted towards the hotel bill.

It was a good stay but my fave part is the airport shuttle service which is very helpful and convenient.

Overall good

Staff were very professional and friendly. Their shuttle service is very convenient. They went above and beyond to drop entire family at the city center upon request early in the morning so that we could get to our next transportation on time.

After a cancelled flight and a missed connection, we got into Christchurch around 10:30pm. The hotel had a shuttle there to pick us up in minutes and after a short ride back to the hotel, we were checked in and settled into a lovely room. Breakfast the next morning was very good and the hotel staff called a cab for us to get to the train station. Wish we had more time to check out the hotel and surrounding area, but no complaints from us!

Very nice hotel!

Great, clean hotel with a very nice restaurant close to the airport. Nice little indoor pool and hottub and small, but functional gym. Felt very upscale compared to all of our other accommodations throughout NZ. Highly recommended.

Probably the best near airport hotel I have ever stayed in. I would recommend to anyone visiting Christchurch. Very friendly staff, large comfortable rooms with balcony and a nice pool for kids and adults. I was surprised how easy and close several amenities and city sites were via car.

Best staff!!! Very helpful and friendly and the complimentary Mercedes shuttle service is fast and efficient. You have to call and they will appear at door number one in under 10 minutes.

Long weekend in Christchurch

Incredible team looking after a large group, Gathering together for a wedding. Accommodated all our needs including transportation when required Room was beautifully appointed lovely view outside clean and super comfortable

Excellent place to stay

Lateish arrival due to delayed flight but excellent friendly welcome. This hotel is spotlessly clean and very smart. We had an excellent breakfast before our departure next morning

Our stay was very short but was great

Super disappointed in this place. Booked as had spa/sauna and pool for kiddo. Spa was same temp as the pool which was disappointing after a hard day. May as well have paid a lot less for a different motel as the rooms were on a par with other motels I have stayed at. So nothing special.

A great place to stay, highly recommend

I booked this motel over others as it had a sauna,spa and pool. Unfortunately the spa was luke warm which was terribly disappointing after a hard day working, also the sauna wasn’t warm enough to be comfortable let alone sweat. Probably wouldn’t book again on any of my monthly stays as the rooms are on par with any other motel around this area and some closer to my area of work.

We stayed here for a soccer tournament. It was a fabulous location. The venue was lovely and warm with great facilities.

Fantastic accommodation, great facilities, staff and very clean.

The staff at the restaurant were a standout, they handled a large group booking with essentially no notice with great service.

Quick stay for one night. I have stayed at the hotel before. They always provide great service. The spa pool and pool is great.

Loved everything about this property and would stay here again! Only let down was that there is very limited utensils (such as a bottle opener or dinner plate) in the room.

Nice hotel with perfect location from the airport!

Booked this hotel to be close to the Christchurch Airport, and it was perfect. Very nice and clean. Layout was a little odd (lift at opposite end of the hallway from the front desk/check in) but otherwise no issues.

We felt very looked after & the staff were really friendly. The shuttle to the airport was amazing & the restaurant food & drinks were great.

The bar manager was very accommodating. Cleared a couple of reserved tables so our group could use them up to the time that the reservation started. All staff very helpful.
