Great service
EVERYONE was so pleasant and very professional. All the staff encountered were so happy and you can tell they actually LOVE their job. I also enjoyed the welcome drinks, the complimentary snacks and coffee setups on each floor. I also enjoyed the daily breakfast. It is a beautiful and very clean property. I was extremely impressed and thoroughly satisfied my choice to stay here.
I reserved my room for a early check in and I showed up at 12 noon
Not worth the dollars
This was a very small room for the price the bathroom didn’t have a sink basically 4 walls for $185.00 US
Experience was great. Parking is expensive. $50 a night is crazy. They don’t disclose that until you check in. I didn’t like that. Our keys didn’t work. It was finally fixed about 2 or 3 hours after we checked in. Breakfast was good. The 2 men Who were there to attend people at breakfast were great! Very attentive and nice. Everyone was nice. Place was decent and close to everything.
Todo muy Agusto y muy limpio y en resepcion muy amable la muchacha y el que cuida los carros en el parkeadero muy amable y atento a su trabajo nos en anta aquí
We had to leave early anyway, so that was the best thing. The area is full of homeless people who chat all night right outside your window. Sirens all night. San Diego's "gaslamp" area has become an expensive slum.
Property was great! Breakfast was superb and staff were the best
Overall it is a good place to stay within budget.
Hi
Walking distance to the Gaslamp so it was perfect . Good thing we Uber because parking is $50 😳
Hotel room was very small and street was found at night. 🅿️ Was very overpriced
The breakfast was amazing!
$50 to park your car to hotel cost!!!
So San Diego downtown has got to be the worse place to stay if you have a car everywhere including the hotel required 50$ for parking in the lot next to hotel it isn’t included in the hotel cost so what ended up being a $120 room cost me $170 bc I paid $50 to park my car. I definitely thought parking would have been included! I will definitely not ever plan a stay downtown San Diego again bc apparently it cost everywhere for parking .. that’s ridiculous!
Room wasnt avaliable. New room was loud, dirty and had a window that wouldnt close. Breakfast was burnt or cold.
The staff were very helpful. The free breakfast was much appreciated! The proximity to the Convention Center was a key factor in my choosing the Comfort Inn during my stay in San Diego.
Great staff and location
This was a very good value hotel, about a 10 min walk from the convention center. While the room was a little smaller than other American hotels in which I've stayed, and the sink was in the bedroom area rather than the bathroom, the room comfortably accomodated 2 double beds, and there was enough room for both me and my room mate. There was also coffee available and a lounge, which was excellent. Probably the best feature was breakfast. There was a very good range of hot and cold options from 6.30am. There was a bit of waste with individually wrapped plastic cutlery. One downside was the noise from the street. The hotel is on a reasonably busy junction, and my room was on the ground floor at the corner. It may not have been so bad on other floors, but car radios, early morning street cleaning was disturbing. Overall, well worth the price, and I'd certainty consider staying here again.
I would definitely recommend this place, this is not a 5 start hotel but the atmosphere is! Free breakfast was super delicious, my first time seeing a person attending and cleaning the eating area. Eggs and everything else had taste not bland like any others. Wakable distance to the main streets of gas lamp district safe too. Definitely coming back!
Location is great
The staff was amazing!
People in the hotels were kind!I appreciate that!
Staff was amazing!
It was good for a night stay. Breakfast very complete, and all employees were very kind
The staff was amazing! We needed to accommodate a group and early check-in for a wedding and they went above and beyond to help us!
Old fashion hotel with small and dark rooms, dirty windows. Ok for 1 -2 nights safe and clean in the rooms. Not at all a dream vocation place. Good location
The rooms are small but clean and the location is absolutely amazing. It can be a bit loud with people slamming their doors but otherwise we didn't hear much in our room
It’s walkable to our convention but the area is terrible during the night time. Very noisy because of the cars that passing by.
Nice
Comfortable beds and tasty breakfast included
We found a cockroach in the room. The room was a lot smaller than it was in the pictures.
Na
Great
Eh
You have to pay for parking and also the ads for the room says a double bed instead of a full bed so it was confusing because I thought it was a room with two beds
There was rat poop in the room I have a photo for it they clean the poop and next day it comes back
Uncomfortable beds. Noisy. Potentially unsafe area. Mold in bathrooms
It was in the heart of the Gaslamp District which was great to walk around.
Never stayed there after I saw the state of the room and facility. Terrible terrible and not cheap either. I should be refunded. I directly booked a 5-star hotel by the water front about the same price I paid for each night at Royal Grove Waikiki in Honolulu. Prof. Das, PhD Olympia, WA
The room I occupied was next to a parking lot and on some nights many homeless folks were making a racket late into the night and morning hours. Also, the window air conditioner was very musty smelling, so I just left it off.
It is an affordable hotel close to the convention center. Very nice staffs.
Room was small but a great place to stay in the middle of the Gaslamp Quarter for relatively cheap.
Duty Window Noisy Air Conditioner Homeless in front of the hotel
Parking is $50 but i liked how you’re assigned a spot so no one else could take it. It’s walkable to many many places great spot overall for price.
1st night could not get in our reserved room because the hotel assigned to another customer, very accommodating to get us into another room but we would need to move the next day to the original reserved room.
Good affordable stay
It's a great location in SD. Nothing fancy but nothing wrong and the price is right.
The gentleman Thursday night 12:30am to become Friday was extremely helpful! And knowledgeable as well as displayed excellent customer service! Also The Check-in had a Great very helpful Agent; Haley was fast efficient, personable, and very professional all at once. Nice Room clean; great!
Friendly Staff
The staff was friendly, but to park there, it is an additional $50/night. With parking cheaper across the street and homeless everywhere that took away the relaxation part of my stay.
The hotel was fantastic and clean. The general area, the Gaslamp Quarter is nice but a bit noisy and smelly.
San Diego trip
Hotel was clean and in good location.
Great Gaslamp Quarter Hotel
Reasonably priced in a great area, the Gaslamp Quarter. Close to great restaurants and walking distance to Petco Park. Parking is also reasonable and close to the hotel.
Serious need of updating. Rooms are very small for two people. First time on west coast so maybe this was to be expected?
Giant cockroaches in from of the property, other than that the property was clean, friendly staff, and the free breakfast and 24/7 coffee was awesome.
The air conditioner seemed to blow out or circulate dust other than that it was a good place just to have a nights of sleep in a good area pf downtown for foodies
The location and staff were amazing. I would stay here again!!!!
Fabulous, friendly staff, and a lovely stay. The road noise is loud, but we expected that with the location.
great breakfast!!
Like all the restaurants in the area to chose from. The parking although listed seemed excessive at 50 dollars a night. Was a breeze to walk to Petco Park so overall not bad. The room was good. It was weird that the sink was outside the bathroom though.
The location
Very quiet
its ok for a quick one night stay, parking is terrible since they charge you 50 dollars to park at hotel! street parking is free at night but difficult to find
Staff performed excellently. Front desk staff was very respectful and professional! Room was pretty nice. Floor needs to be cleaned better (long hairs kept sticking to my feet). Outside my window, I could see spider webs and rust on the air conditioners. My only major complaint is that they have window air conditioning units, which allow street noise (yelling, loud engines, etc.) to come directly into the room. I was able to switch rooms to a courtyard room, which cutdown on the noise significantly.
$200/night for a TINY room was outrageous. The AC was super noisy, the walls feel thin and lots and lots of ambient and environmental noise.
It’s a property
AC filters extremely filthy. Very loud crowds outside the windows every night. We had restless nights
Very dated. Won’t be booking another Comfort Inn. Doreen at the reception was first class! Unfortunately not separate rating for staff. She deserves 5 star!
Good value and everything you need
On the smaller side but efficient room that was clean and comfortable. The included breakfast was good and a solid way to start the day.
This is an old hotel. The rooms are not bad, but the halls look really old. I stayed on the 3rd floor and there is a broken vending machine that looks sad. Each room has a small and noisy window unit, which works well for the size of the room, which is tight. There is a mini fridge and a tiny microwave. The bed and pillows were clean and comfy. The floor inside the room is luxury vinyl, which is better than the old carpet in the hallway. They should also replace that carpet with the same vinyl floor they have in the rooms. One of the 4 days I stayed there, there was no hot water in the shower so I jad to shower with cold water. It worked fine the next day. I was assigned a room facing the parking lot and it was really noisy because this hotel is really close to the Gaslamp area where all the bars are, so I requested to be moved to a room on the opposite side and they did. It was much better. Breakfast was included and it was meh, but at least it included warm and cold items. I might not stay there next time I'm in SD.
It was nice, but the morning did not have no hot water to take a shower I did not like that and parking should be with the hotel. It was hard paying $50 a night for parking and then no hot water for the morning but the staff was wonderful helpful kind.
Outdated, no sink in bathroom. Its located in the bed area where the microwave and coffee maker are. Thats also the same area you gix you hair so lots of hair in that area.
We were charged a 100$ deposit without notification plus another 100$ was taken out of the account without any explanation of it was a computer glitch. Which was 200$ we didn't have to spend on our weekend..ya!!
Got into town early and we were able to check in, the room did its job for a quick stay. The room was small but it was just two of us so it worked just fine.
The receptionist Dorene was outstanding! She checked me in rapidly and noticed I had reserved a handicap room due to my mom having mobility issues, she immediately asked me if we brought my moms handicap car placard to which I said yes, she gave us free parking in the hotel’s back parking lot and also advised me not to pay for parking on the streets where it’s permitted to park as long as I had the handicap placard displayed in the car. She was very friendly, informative and caring of her guests, We’ll definitely be staying here again on our next visit to San Diego.
All areas of the Gaslamp District are within walking distance.
. The hotel was fine. When i sat on the bed, i thought it was going to collapse. It didn't and it was fairly comfortable
Great location, nice bed at the end of the day it the comfort inn.. I would stay there again.
This is located in the Gaslamp District of San Diego, which is the college “woohoo” zone on a weekend. It’s loud, it’s happy, it’s sometimes messy, but it’s fun. This hotel is run well by a good staff, but it’s also a bit of a “comfortable worn shoe.” Nothing is broken, the breakfast is functional, but it’s not luxe (nor does it say it will be. The bed is firm, the shower works, the toilet seat is a circle so it’s a bit small, and the sink is in the room itself. The rooms have basic window box AC, and it works. If you want a “solid hammer” that gets the job done, you’ll be satisfied here, for sure. I recommend “Taco El Gordo”, mmmm… fast, genuine, popular. Even for breakfast! Stay here for a bed, and nice staff.
Great staff, near stadium, restaurants & bars. Older building & noisy. The hotel left ear plugs in every room.
Room did not get serviced for some reason. Left a clean bed and all. Toilet water kept running all night. No early/late checkout, although they were adamant that they always allow it…just not on my checkout date lol.
Easy walking distance to night life
great place. expensive parking but convenient stop.
Just ok
Air conditioner barely worked. Room had a musty smell. Good location.
Very nice service
That it was within walking distance to Petco Park
I enjoyed my stay, loved how it was walking distance to a bunch of place to go eat and have a good time!
This property is in a great location in the heart of the Gaslamp district and walkable to all the spots however parking is a headache. It’s $50 a day on the property and any other public lot it’s about $60 a day. Your best bet is to find a meter and park, but they are usually all taken.
Great location
Room had everything we needed for one night. Very clean and great service from all the staff
Nice place a block away from the main area of Gaslamp Quarter. Breakfast was delicious. Staff was nice and always helpful.
Outside of the property were homeless people. Very noisy area. The room was very small. When i walked in room it was very stuffy so i had to run the ceiling fan and window a/c together.
Location was excellent. Central to everything we wanted to do. Staff were friendly, helpful & informed. Room was clean & comfortable bed. Expect that some guests might find the noise from the nightlife in the area challenging but the A/C & earplugs worked.
Good
Hotel was nice, but to much stomping noise outside of room. Was not able to get a good night rest.
Wish parking wasn’t too expensive! $50. Dollars a night for parking and when you’re on a budget was hard to swallow.
Good!’nn
We went to a baseball game last night and decided to say, however, we did not know the part of $50 until we got nothing was mentioned in the website. There is parking all around there as well. If you don’t wanna park with them, the room was OK. It was kind of weird set up And very cozy but if you’re going to a baseball game, I would say
My room was dirty the tub was dirty ass well
It saw a bug crawling on the wall, I took a picture as well. Then when I came back from smoking my cigarettes outside, I went and got nachos at 10 something at night when I came back and put my nachos in the microwave a bug got to it.
Average
Big roaches in shower and sink
Staff was friendly, courteous, and professional
Great property for those attending Petco Park activities. Just a short walk!!!
I travel a lot and all I ask is that the bed is comfortable, clean, and quiet. This was over my expectation, the staff was nice, the area fun place, and clean.
Hotel was great clean secure
