The room was very spacious and clean. The bed was comfy, the water tasted fine, the staff were friendly, and my car was safe in the garage for a week. The location is also pretty great since it's near stuff and accessible to transit, including the cable cars.

It was totally fine. Better than expected actually. You look at the pictures and think it’s going to be all rundown, but aside from some old style (not old) furniture and ghastly (but excellent condition) bedding, it was a fine place to stay and super convenient.

Good location and great friendly staff.. Would stay again

Stayed here and went to a show nearby. Location was super convenient, staff was friendly, and room was clean and well-maintained. Walkable to Fisherman's Wharf and other SF spots. We had a great time and good night's rest.

Overnighter eating our way thru No. Beach

My husband and I stay here every time we come to the city for an overnighter in North Beach. We have never been disappointed. The free parking is a Hugh plus and the location is perfect.

Wonderful old hotel with parking right in a walkable area to Alcatraz and Pier 39. Spacious room and friendly staff.

Good hotel

Hitel was clean and comfortable, only issue was the traffic noise, could do with better patio doors that keep the noise down. Orher tban that all was good especially having free parking tbat close to fisherman's whatf.

We loved the location of this property, it was easy to get to Fisherman's Wharf. Tony at reception was very friendly and went out of his way each day to check-in with us and see how our day was. The rooms are a little dated but dont let this put you off.

Great location, old motel needs updating. No breakfast or coffee.

I would give 10 stars if possible! We had free parking! We had a balcony off of our room. We walked everywhere! The staff were super amazing! Our bed and pillows were excellent! I will go back- and I will tell everyone to stay there!

Nasty stains

Cleanliness rating is most important to me. This hotel has a high cleanliness rating, but my room was filthy. Ridiculous stains on the curtains, and walls around the bed. They honestly looked like blood stains. Didn’t look like they really made an effort to clean them up either. Overall there was a bad stench to the whole room, and nothing in the room really seemed that clean. Should’ve asked for a different room, but I’m pretty sure there were no other rooms available. The pictures I’m don’t even do them justice.

Everything was nice. It was a bit of a shock that the price did not include a microwave or fridge.

It's an older hotel but is kept up nicely. Walking distance to the wharf and Ghirardelli Square.

Family stay in July

We stayed for 2 nights in July. Whilst the hotel is a little worn in places it really is an excellent place to stay. The staff are fantastic, the location is excellent and they have amazingly comfortable beds. Also prices are good, especially given the local hotel pricing.

I was looking for property with parking and that’s what I got.

It was great but be careful

Location was great. A few blocks from Fishermans wharf and pier 39. Free parking was great but our car and around 8 others got broken into in the early morning. Windows were broken àlong with the office windows. It was random and i heard it happens often in San Francisco. Consider a place that is gated or has a security.

Convenient

I loved my stay, the staff is excellent but the towels and linens seemed stale and not fresh especially the quilt, scratchy towels. . The coffee maker could use an upgrade,perhaps a mini kuerig. But overall a great place to stay! Will stay again! Thank you

Location, Convenience and Charm

Great location with excellent service, near North Beach and Fisherman’s Wharf has a parking garage and access to all San Francisco offers. The room furnishings are dated but, IMHO adds to the charm.

Location was excellent for exploring Fisherman's Wharf area on foot. Friendly check-in staff & clean room. I would have liked a fridge but for one night it was ok. Enjoyed our stay.

Close to everything. Clean and convenient.

Nice hotel. Very quiet and convenient. The staffs were very helpful. I arrived at the hotel early and the front lady made some room arrangement to let me check in earlier so I could put my luggage in the room. The on-site free parking is a huge plus. Strongly recommended and would like to stay here again.

Our room was lovely and so comfortable. The hotel location was perfect for walking to various spots like Little Italy and Fisherman's Wharf.The area felt totally safe. A major plus was the FREE parking! If I ever get back to San Francisco, there's no place I would rather stay.

Noisy, club Bimbo is right next to hotel

If you are traveling to SF w an automobile then this is the place to stay. Most hotels will charge you at least $75 a day parking. Here it is free. The parking lot is monitored 24/7 and is covered and near the office and elevator. The front desk staff are very friendly and offer to hold luggage prior to and after check in and out which is great. Neighborhood is probably the nicest and safest part of SF too and within walking distance to the wharf, piers, Coit Tower, Chinatown, and the cable cars.

We have been wanting to stay here for years and finally did so. We usually stay across the street at the much higher priced Marriot only by need and not desire. I wish we had learned about this gem much sooner. Staff was very friendly. The location of the Columbus Motor Inn is fantastic. We walked all over Pier 39, Little Italy, Chinatown, and to Union Square. This will be my only place to stay going forward. There area few cons and I will be upfront about. Parking is extremely tight, don't bring a full size pickup. Staff did make one charge mistake and quickly reversed the charge. They claimed I ordered a roll away bed which we did not and found it odd it was in the room to begin with, we never used it. It was after check out I saw the extra $20 on my card. I talked to the front desk and they reversed it without issue. Columbus Motor Inn is awesome.

Loved the location and staff was nice - a quick ride to the Fisherman’s Wharf and the Golden Gate Bridge! Clean, had a bathtub, and parking was so easy. It is right next to a club, so we had to leave a white noise sound on. No fridge in unit, which was a pain as we had medication that needed it.

Very impressed by the condition of the room and Tony was extremely friendly and helpful. The motel was great and free parking was exactly what we needed to move our daughter into the neighborhood. Our room was a little noisy at night from the catering crew from the wedding venue next door. Probably are quieter rooms. Ours just happened to be right over their work area. We will definitely stay here again when we are in town. Inexpensive, convenient location and great staff!

Outstanding value in an excellent location with attentive happy staff. It was a very comfortable stay and the parking situation is fantastic. The rooms are well maintained and it appears recently remodeled. We wouldn't change a thing and would stay here again.

Overnighter in North Beach

Perfect location in North Beach. Tony checked us in and he was wonderful and friendly .Beds and pillows were comfortable .

Columbus Motor Inn is in a great location to explore San Francisco. Does not do meals but Pat’s Cafe 2 mins walk does outstanding breakfasts and lunch. Parking is included in the room rate so no nasty surprise charges as in some other hotels.

Check in front desk was not friendly. He wasn't having a good day. Check out front desk lady was very friendly and helpful.

Drove in while the 80 had a closure, so we anticipated a longer travel time then normal. However we arrived in SF earlier then we thought, I called and asked about and early Check in and was happily offered the option, as there was a room available! Awesome staff, stayed here 3 times in the last 6 months. Love this place!

Had a super stay here. Basic, but clean and comfortable with friendly staff and location is awesome! Plus you get free parking.

We took one night on our trip in this hotel but changed our mind and stayed 2 more nights. Clean, very friendly people (they spent about half an hour to figure out how to add 2 more nights at the same room over the weekend - and they did it). Safe, inside the hotel parking. Walking distance to Fishermen's Warf, Pier 39, Chinatown, and couple small cafés with nice food. Definitely recommended!

Fantastic property. Free parking. Friendly staff. Clean, comfortable rooms. Excellent price. I got 2 rooms for my family here for less than what I had originally booked 1 room for at a chain hotel. Book it. You won't regret it.
