Fantastic Hotel, amazing location
Nothing special around the property
Great hotel
Loved our stay here. Great staff. Beautiful hotel. Would definitely stay again.
Very unique property. Room was modern and clean. The only downside is if you drive a truck, the parking garage is very tight and difficult to maneuver.
Felt pampered
My stay was incredible. It was absolutely the most comfortable bed, sheets, pillow, temperature, literally everything I loved. I got a basic suite, but trust me, there was nothing basic about it. The owner spared no expense and designing and decorating this boutique hotel. They paid such attention to detail and mindfully decorated to cater to everyone’s taste. The hotel is just off the beaten path of Austin but just minutes from everything very clean. The staff was helpful and courteous and professional. I just can’t describe the vibe because you just have to experience yourself. Don’t hesitate just book it. It’s worth it!!
Staycation for Gala
We had a great time with the room. The room was great and everything looked clean, up-to-date, and comfortable. The only issue we found was that there was a buzzing noise that we heard throughout the night and we have zero clue what it was. Also, all morning we could hear loud noises from the walls that I suspect were the pipes. We also could hear the room service cart down the hallway pretty loud. So the insulation is not great. Overall, we enjoyed everything else and would consider staying again.
Great little hotel! Very quiet and safe!
My favorite place to stay!
It was a fantastic check-in process, thanks to the warm and helpful gentleman at the front desk. The room is spacious, clean, and has great amenities in the kitchen. The bathroom is ideal with double sinks and a nice shower.
Absolutely beautiful with thoughtful and well designed common areas. Guest rooms are fantastic. We will definitely return.
You have to pay for parking which is 30 dollars a day. Wish that was included with your stay. Otherwise great place to stay!
It was excellent! The guy at check in to the maids service. All was outstanding and oh so Austin! The room super cool and comfy complete with large frog, microwave, dishes silver ware glassware. Large shower! Big bathroom area and separate toilet room. Very very nice!
Love love this hotel! I had upgraded to a long but did not get a king bed. Parking is limited and tight but we were always able to find a spot. Beautiful rooms and lobby. Great location.
Room didn’t have a trash can

Quiet Time
Second time we have stayed at Colton House. I love that it’s a small hotel. It’s always quiet and other people in the hotel respect that as well. Lots of places to just sit and relax and read. That’s whats great and hard to find in new hotels. We tried both the bar/coffee and the food truck this time around. Both very good. It was a nice place to start our night. We had a few cocktails at Simonas while we figured out the rest of our plan and La Taquicardia was our lunch for the following day. This is my favorite hotel in Austin like I don’t even bother looking at any others.
I stay at Colton House every time I’m in Austin and it always is a pleasurable experience! I enjoy the rooms (especially having a kitchen setup) and the coffe shop and food truck are great!
Relaxing and quiet stay. Close to everything but did not feel touristy at all and had the perks of an airbnb and hotel combined. The room had everything we needed with the small kitchenette, desk and tv area. Very cozy.
5-Star deserving of a 4-Star!
All was great, except the iron had black junk all over it and I couldn’t use it! As nice of a hotel as this is, steamers should be considered for rooms!
Property is beautiful and staff was great.
Beautiful hotel. We will be back.
Will stay here again for sure!
Everything was great!!!
The mattresses are old, soggy and lumpy. The floors are polished concrete even in the bathroom which are very slippery when wet.
Letdown.
Parking was inconvenient, to the point of ridiculous. Keycards to operate elevators also cumbersome. Phone in room noisy. It didn’t rest evenly on base and beeped almost all night. Pillows were horribly uncomfortable. Chair in room was stained. Also, the CH has a certain haughty quality to it. Lots of cliche young “elites” with their obligatory stocking caps on.
Good
Staff was great, room was pristine.
This was a beautiful property. Wonderful beds, tons of space. Beautiful decor.
Fabulous location, great interior and super comfortable rooms. Josh at front desk is amazing.
Close to areas of Austin of interest.
The property was very nice and clean. Really unique place, very nice set up. The staff really friendly, housekeeping is awesome. The place really has a good vibe. We will definitely be back.
Quick trip
Always like staying here—nice vibe to the property
Loved it
Room was a little warm on arrival but cooled off. Loved the bar/coffee shop. Food truck was great.
Excellent
We had a great stay and loved the room and full kitchen! The hotel was convenient and we would definitely stay here again.
You have to stay here!
From the front desk to the room-everything was next level.
Great stay!
Nice and quiet
Great accommodations, comfie bed and sleep after fun local (downtown) wedding. I felt safe to be solo!
Cute hotel but incredibly rude staff ruined it
Security guard kept harassing me.... This woman came to my car in the parking garage and needed to make sure "I was a hotel guest" and didn't do the same for anyone else. So I showed her my key cards and she gave me a look then walked away?? But here's the crazy part... I had been out and I was tired so I go into my room around 3 AM(mind you I was not visibly impaired at all) and then SHE COMES KNOCKING ON MY DOOR AT 4:30 IN THE MORNING to "check on me". I asked her if I had done anything wrong and she said no, so I asked why she insisted on harassing me and she says, "I won't anymore ma'am." I was in shock. I've never been treated this way in my entire life and I have a lingering suspicion that there was an undertone of discrimination that lead to this. I was a woman staying in a room alone. I hadn't done anything wrong, and I didn't deserve any of that. I paid for a room just like everyone else did. It made me feel really really sad; I couldn't have been more respectful yet I received exactly the opposite. You guys can do better; no one deserves to be so obviously singled out like that without cause whatsoever.
Suggest you go elsewhere.
Would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
The property was great, especially for thre price. But the phone lines were and continue to be down, making communication with hotel staff cumbersome. The rooms are very spacious but if yuo want to use the kitchen in the suite, the equipment (pots and pans) is of poor quality, as is that in their fitness center. The room was missing coffee filters too, making me have to walk downstairs to the front desk first thing in the morning (because of the downed phone lines) to ask for some. Otherwise, the place is very cute and would get a perfect review, save for thr above details.
Beautiful hotel in South Austin. Special touches, good linens, beautiful furnishings. Secure parking garage ($30 per night). Classy yet laid back atmosphere.
2 nights at Colton House
My go to when in town; great place to stay in Austin. Staff very friendly, pleasant and helpful!
It was very comfortable and pretty
It is a very cold environment. No carpet, just concrete floors and a few rugs. Our hair dryer didn’t work. The electricity in the kitchen area went out on day two. We had to call maintenance to reset. It was a funky Austin kind of place but for the money I was not impressed.
Excellent, friendly service. A rare hidden gem on South Congress away from the hustle bustle a mile away, yet so convenient to walk to the great restaurants and music scene. The staff is topnotch. Thank you! MK
Overall, it was okay, good ambiance and amenities to add on. The lobby and common areas were beautiful. The rooms themselves felt very stringent- not really cozy or ideal for lounging around in. The bed was also uncomfortable and you could hear the housekeeping team chattering in the hallway early in the morning. Not obnoxious, just thin walls. Bathroom floors don’t have rugs or mats and are glossy cement. I slipped and was fortunate that my roomie caught me before the ground did.
This hotel is an absolute GEM! Don't waste your time staying anywhere else. Colton house is a MUST! I was floored on how perfect this hotel was and i stay at a variety of hotels. I'd go back to Austin just to stay here again.
Honest feedback
Stay was okay. My air conditioning in the room wasn’t great. 33 dollars a night for parking is absolutely ridiculous considering there is zero parking near the hotel. Sketchy area also.
Hidden Gem
This was a fantastic boutique hotel. I'm so glad we were able to stay here. The hotel itself is located a good 15-20 minute walk from the shops and restaurants on South Congress. The hotel staff were amazing. Our flight had gotten in early and we went to drop off our bags before check-in and we not only were able to check in but we were fortunate to have been upgraded. Our rooms were spacious, clean and pleasantly decorated. The coffee shop and bar were also very good. Although we didn't get a chance to try, the food truck smelled fantastic every day. I would definitely stay here again!
Will stay at Colton Hotel again!
Totally enjoyed ourselves at Colton. Hotel staff extended very warm welcome. We loved the coffee and the drinks from Cafe Simona's and the tacos from the food truck on site.
Home away from home!
Very impressed with the room layouts and luxuriousness of Colton House. Love that it feels like you’re staying in a homey room as opposed to a stale hotel room. The front staff was very friendly and I loved the location of this hotel as well. Will definitely stay again when we are back in Austin!
Very cute clean boutique hotel.. roomy and i love the little kitchen with refrigerator, serving plates, cups etc. they have a nice back patio area that they serve breakfast, great nice little area for relaxing time for getting some work done and coffee break
Will run back to CH as soon as we can!
We met family in Austin for an overnight before Run for the Water and Colton House was perfect for us! We wanted a true Austin experience and didn't want to stay at a generic hotel downtown. We loved having coffee outside after the run!
The hotel is so well appointed. Many social spaces, bar, library, outdoor space, pool and the best hotel gym thus far. Everything was perfect except we were put in a dog room without our knowledge. We realized because there was dog hair stuck to the rigs and my room mate was having breathing issues. The room was otherwise very clean. I would definitely ask for a non-animal room if I stayed again.
Beds and pillows are not comfortable. Spacious Rooms and nice decor.
The hotel is beautifully decorated, very clean, nice service. A few blocks up from the shopping, restaurants and bars but walkable.
Amazing place for a weekend getaway!
Parking is not included
Very clean, walking distance from everything on congress Bar & cafe was also so good !
.
The water softener thing ya’ll had going on was super unfamiliar and had me there longer than I should have trying to wash off the sliminess. Is it an Austin thing? Hated showering the 2nd and 3rd time. Other than that, it was super chill and photogenic. The staff was friendly too.
We had a great time at the Colton House. We really liked the bar and food truck as an option for a quick bite. The staff was great!
Decorated very nicely but in the rooms some of the furnishings were cheap
Great hotel! Love the room will come back
Beautiful, clean property. Very friendly helpful staff.
Katy was a fantastic hostess and represented property like it was hers!
Great stay. Very relaxing.
I really liked modern kitchen and the neighborhood.
Beautiful property and very comfortable. Also in a really great location
The room was very comfortable and all the “at home” amenities were available. The outdoor areas were beautiful and peaceful. The pool was very comfortable with fans and misters and relaxing music.
Fantastic property
Loved it! Very cute hotel.
Lovely and spacious rooms. Adorable decor, nice pool area with thoughtful touches. My only complaint is that there is no oversight of the pool area and it’s hit and miss based on whether or not there are children in the pool. You can have a wonderful and relaxing experience or something totally different with children screaming, jumping in the water, splashing you in the face (the pool is very small and not appropriate for children playing like this), and leaving their trash all over. They used every single towel and left them everywhere. My travel partner and I ended up cleaning the area after they left. Also had to ask the front desk for more towels to be brought out.
Everything
Can’t wait to go back…

Perfect
Quick trip
Enjoyed our stay w their friendly staff
Not your normal hotel experience
This was the most unique hotel experience I’ve had and did not disappoint. The hotel was esthetically appealing, the rooms were clean, the hallways were fragrant, not the standard hotel smell and front desk clerks were knowledgable about places and things to do, friendly and welcoming. I look forward to coming back again for a longer stay.

Close to downtown, walkable to parks and HEB
3 Bedroom Suite
The family suite was spacious and cozy!
The rooms were nice, enjoyed their coffeeshop/bar, and the location was just so convenient as it was walking distance to SoCo’s restaurants and shops.
Great stay, one of my favorites in Austin. I love the small feel of it and all of the amenities. Great location.
The Property was very nice and the ambiance was so peaceful. They just have tighten up with the cleaning a little bit since my husband is as a chief engineer for the Marriott hotel there were some spot in our room that were not clean or replaced. Front desk staff need to be a little more pleasant.
Beautiful property, staff is friendly. Love the outdoor area to sit and sip cocktails in the evening!
Pretty swanky for the price. Great coffee bar/bar. Nice staff
Absolutely loved this hotel and it's my new "go to place" to stay every time I visit Austin!
wouldn’t go again.
We stayed in the three bedroom suite with my family. The beds were comfortable and the space was perfect. There was a nice pool and outdoor space. Would definitely stay here again.
It has character!
A cool hotel. Decor is certainly edgy. Good entertainment channels. Only problem was the construction site facing our room and it was noisy when work started.
Cozy room, good amenities.
Gorgeous property inside and out!
Our spring break trip got canceled on this site so they gave us this hotel. Amazing for my family of 5 it was like we had our own apartment. Very quiet and luxurious Thanks Colton house it’s started off ruff but coming here made it all worth it!
Beautifully decorated, classic Austin. Great patio.
Really a lovely boutique with plenty of space in studio room and around the hotel. One note-the property is close to the shopping and restaurant area on South Congress, but not walkable. Would recommend with that caveat.
Nice but noisy
The Colton House is located in thee middle of a construction Zone making it difficult to walk anywhere. Rooms on the North and East sides are subject to road noise. Try to stay in an odd numbered room towards the rear of the property. Overall, the CH checks a lot of boxes. Pool area and coffee lounge is very nice. However, $38 for two glasses of wine is pretty steep.

We had a little mishap when we checked in, but staff were great and made everything right very quickly. Good location for walking to South Congress shopping and restaurants. Onsite pool was not open, which would have been nice to have.
