This is a very quaint older property with extremely friendly owners. We would stay here again.

Excellent place for families who are wine tasting

Excellent find for our stay in Blenheim. We had travelled down from the North Island to meet up with our daughter who had recently moved to NZ. The two bedroom apartment was a good size to accommodate us all. Location is very close to the town and to all the main vineyards ( word of warning: book taxis early as they get very busy during the cellar door opening hours) Flat was lovely and clean and kitchen was well equipped. Laundry was available for use for your own washing . Couple of things ago heed. No aircon but fans are provided and the height of the shower head is not adjustable and is very low. No safe either but as place is occupied 24/7 that wasn’t a problem. Very friendly owner who loved to have a chat made it a real home from home

Great friendly accomodating staff .

A wonderful place to stay

Check in was very relaxed and straight forward. Our host was extremely friendly and helpful, he couldn’t do enough for us to make our stay perfect. Keen to share his local knowledge of the best place to go when we needed to purchase something. Our room had everything that you could need. We would have no hesitation in staying again if we were in the area.

Simon was very helpful. There was a free guest laundry, which was a bonus for us after days of travelling. The room was clean.

In summer there is traffic noise if windows open at night. It was 30 degrees when we were there

The room was spacious and well equipped. Excellent shower and nice toiletries. The host Simon was friendly and very helpful. Parking right outside the room. The area is commercial but very well located for walking into town and for the wine trail . Some traffic noise from the main road.

Awesome experience!

Such a great choice for my stay!! The owner, Simon, picked me up at the train station. My room had a little balcony, which was perfect for the additional room service breakfast. TV with Sky was the easiest to operate. And they even have punched coffee--not the instant crap you find in most hotels. Nothing fancy here, but the service is a big wow! Highly recommend!

Friendly staff that are fast and efficient. Motel has great options around for dining, close the the beach or use the pool if you prefer. Would recommend to others.

👍 like my review! We had an amazing 2 night stay at Colonial Motel in Blenheim, New Zealand as part of our journey across the country. We chose this place due to its proximity to the Marlborough wine region and its walkability to several places including downtown! Unlike other motels, we felt the hospitality and warmth instantly from the family managing the property throughout our stay. Even though we arrived late due to a major delay of the ferry going through the rocky waters of the Cook Strait, they responded to our messages (using the Hotels.com mobile application) with understanding. After parking our car in our allocated spot, our stay in the upstairs room #10 was enjoyable. The room was very clean, bed and pillows were comfortable, bathroom had its toiletries (e.g. shampoo, conditioner, soap, lotion) along with a working ventilation fan, fridge had a separate compartment for freezing, internet was optimal, outlets throughout and near the end of the bed were useful for charging, and several amenities (e.g. Nespresso, instant coffee, French press coffee grounds, tea, hot chocolate, fresh milk, cutlery, utensils, cookware, microwave, stovetop) were thoughtful. They were also next door to a laundromat along with small and big grocery stores nearby nestled with quick places to eat. Overall, we would definitely want to stay here again and would recommend it to our friends and family.

Lovely room

Arrived late and it was welcoming with outside light left on and key accessible. Text with instructions sent to us earlier. Room very spacious and comfortable. Would definitely come again.

The room was clean and well stocked with the necessities- that had conditioner which is always a bonus. Check in was easy and the staff were so friendly. Very close to everything, with a Night and Day next door. Really enjoyed our stay- even better we could take our dog!

This was a darling place run by very nice people. The unit was equipped with everything needed to spend several days. Loved the milk and chocolate fish that were offered to us. The bed warmers were great! They gave us fabulous dinner recommendations. Highly recommend this place!

Shower was awsome . I stayed in the studio ,only thing with that is your bedroom is in the living room. Got no sleep the first night as to much light from outside. Owner turned sone of the lights off the second night. Airfryer instructions ? Lets say i couldn't get it to work properly

Pleasant stay

Family owned and operated. Lovely large rooms, all spotlessly clean and welcoming.

Good for the price

Pros: Good location, easy parking, free washing machines, very friendly owner Cons: Single pane windows that don't seal well let in all the traffic noise, shower pressure/flow was terrible, bathroom sink so small it was basically useless, pool small and not heated. For the price though, ok stay.

Fantastic accommodation

The accommodation was wonderful and it had everything we could need. We used the small pool and also the laundry. Some motels charge for the use of the laundry but it was free to use and had washing powder if needed. Simon was great and very knowledgeable and seemed to want all his guests to gain the most from their stay. We hired bikes and did our own wine tour which was great fun. I would recommend this motel

We had a lovely stay here, the units are very comfortable, clean and cozy. Everything you need is right there in the unit. The Etheredge’s are brilliant hosts that make you feel very welcome. Would highly recommend 😊

Beautifully presented room with lovely toiletries and coffee machine and choice of teas etc. The only thing that wasn’t perfect in the room was the tiny bathroom sink! The road it is on was quite noisy and closing the windows didn’t help much!

Simon, the manager/owner was awesome to talk to. He was very friendly and gave us lemons from his lemon tree. The room was clean comfortable and very roomy. I highly recommended the Colonial Motel.

A pleasant place to stop overnight. Handy to any place you need to call in on.

The owner is very nice and warm. The motel provides capsule nespresso coffee and chocolate fish. The room is very pretty. All the plates and the mugs are very very pretty. You can tell the taste of the owner is excellent.

This was a great, family friendly accomodation. The little extras in the place like nice shampoo, tasteful furnishings added a nice touch. And the bonus was a great coffee machine. Must stay

This was the best motel we stayed in for our entire holiday. The previous night was terrible and ever so slightly dearer. The owner lady here was an absolute delight. The room was a pleasure to stay in, Every amenity was at out disposal. Would thoroughly recommend this accomodation

Lovely place to stay. Management and staff are super and the location excellent. The only challenge was the internet...not typical and difficult at times. Nonetheless, highly recommend the stay.
