Overall the hotel is good for what you pay, but the reception staff were seriously an issue. I called to advise them of our check in time and still had to wait around half an hour for an unmanned reception (during front desk hours). On check out it was the same thing - nobody there. Hardly ideal after a long flight or drive

The appartment was amazing. Beautiful, clean and safe for a solo traveler. The high-speed wireless was great for work and the views of the city were breathtaking. Highly recommend!

Amazing view, top notch accommodation and amenities

A returning customer and the staff haven’t missed a beat in great hospitality! The manager and reception staff are very accomodating and helpful. Rooms are clean, beds are comfortable and views are stunning!

Mixed feelings

We arrived in the evening (around 7:30) and found the door attendant horribly blase about everything. It was at this time that we were informed that the air conditioning was out and hoped to be fixed within the next few days. Our apartment was very high up and needless to say extremely hot with the summer temperatures. The evening attendant could not be any lazier or display less care towards our stay. The manager was available the next day and did everything she could to try and improve our stay. The lack of air con seemed to be something that was known in advance and we never felt like we were told the full story. One resident described the building as a disaster and after six months of living there - to not believe anything from management. The location was great; Having a two bedroom and two bath apartment was also a treat over a traditional hotel room. The acting manager did her best to make us comfortable. If the building is operating as expected, I would stay there again.

Excellent location in Melbourne CBD

Convenient for our stay in Melbourne and spacious and clean. The only hitch was a second bathroom shower, which was clogged and did not resolve easily. It initially overflowed. The management was very attentive to take care of it.

Great Stay

The staff were fantastic, the manager sent through text messages making sure our stay was comfortable and we really felt looked after. The room was clean, specious and the beds were comfortable in a fantastic location in the heart of the CBD! Will stay here again 100%

We had a very comfortable and enjoyable stay

Comfortable and convenient

It was very difficult to enter the building at check in. There were no clear instructions at the door and the bell did not alert anyone. The person who eventually checked me in was curt. However the apartment itself was great. Very comfortable, quiet, clean, spacious. The only thing I didn't like was the door lock as it worried me at night as to whether the room was locked.

Best stay in a long time

This is my second visit and I like it because it is safe, quiet and close to the tram. The staff are also friendly.

Perfect location in Collins St

By far this is my favourite place to stay in Melbourne. It’s convenient, clean and offers a home away from home feel. The staff are lovely. We will definitely return.

The neighbour was really noisy from 10pm to 5 am during the night time, a bunch of young guys were playing online games, they consistently shouted to each other. It seriously impacted my family’s sleeping time when we stayed at Collins House Apartment.

Great apartment in a central location - very clean, well appointed and wonderful views of Melbourne.

A very good stay

The apartment itself is very comfy and the location is perfect. Just 15mins walk to south cross station and in the CBD region. The reception is also very nice and helpful. The room has most of the things needed for a stay. Just some minor improvement in my opinion - The checkin instruction asked me to call a number but no one answered. Luckily the apartment is quite popular so I can enter the building by following other guests. Better to be able to call the reception via the intercon directly - Several things in the room are missing, e.g. kitchen scissors and hair dryer. Would be good if having a more thorough room check - The TV is not connected to antenna, and it cannot connect to the Internet as well since it cannot show the login screen. So it is just useless

Avoid at all costs

I woke up the first morning to no water and no air conditioning. None. The elevators were also not functioning correctly so it took quite some time to get downstairs to find out what was happening. They had no idea when they would have water again and gave me a few water bottles to “bathe” in. By noon, there was still no water or air con. Based on Hotels.com’s assurances after conversation with the hotel, I checked out and had to pay for another hotel. At checkout, the site manager agreed to a refund but said it had to be approved by another office. Now they are refusing to provide the refund. There was no water! Incidentally, other residents of the building indicated that problems occurred all the time.

The lights in the bathroom was broken and the aircon had water leaking out of it and then it stopped working.

I’d recommend the Collins House Apartments as a 10/10

Lovely place to stay for a week. Would recommend to friends and family.

The property is strategically located in the heart of Melbourne City within walking distance to nearby malls, free city tram and eateries. Our unit is located at 51st floor giving us a spectacular view of the city, nicely maintained and quiet. Would definitely book this property during our next visit.

Great location, only downside was stairs in apartment so not for those with kids or older people.

Great location, clean and well equipped!

Hats off to the staff at this property. From the get go everyone I came into contact with was courteous and actively helpful. I did not meet any housekeeping staff, but I highly commend them - the room was spotless, a rarity these days!

Great location, quiet, great condition, lovely helpful staff.

I had to arrive after reception closed due to a delayed flight, but the staff at reception did an excellent job of letting me know how to handle a late check in. I did have quite a bit of trouble sleeping (I am a light sleeper). I stayed in a two bedroom apartment on the 21st floor on a corner of the building, one bedroom faced the street and noise from cars and trams was fairly loud. The second bedroom was facing away from the street and much quieter, but unfortunately the room was quite warm and the air conditioning made quite a loud rattle whenever it was on, too much to sleep with. I did report this to reception on the morning before my last night there, but it wasn't fixed before I checked out the next day. Access to the building is a bit convoluted, but fine once you're checked in and get used to it. Overall the apartment itself was very clean, spacious and in quite good condition, though the beds were quite worn out. If it wasn't for the noisy air conditioning it would've been quite a good stay.

Fantastic place to stay! Extremely clean,comfortable and in a great location. Really appreciated the free upgrade! The only minor issue was limited internet availability, but in the scheme of things it wasn't a major downside.

We loved the location, loved that it wasnt crazy busy, it was safe and secure and so quiet. Everything was easily accessible and staff were super friendly.

It’s a good property. We didn’t care for the almost eye level view of the roofs of buildings and was told there was nothing else. Next morning we were advised that we could move but all our groceries, clothing, bath items had been put in their places and it wasn’t feasible to move. We got to ignore that part of the experience.

Our stay at Apartments by CLLIX was fantastic. The property was clean, spacious and convenient. The staff were amazing. I can’t recommend this place highly enough. We had great communication before and throughout the duration of the stay. I will absolutely choose Apartments by CLLIX again!

The Apartment rooms were fantastic. Short walk to Flinders st and easy transport around on the free trams

Pretty much was very happy about everything. Only issue was when we first got there, the front door in pretty non-descriptor and actually says cargo entrance. We tried buzzing and no one answered, I guess they were busy. Another guest let us in. I did not see any instructions on my reservation so perhaps that needs to made more clear. Apart from that I absolutely loved the place!

Centrally located great view close to restaurants and supermarkets close to transport

Fantastic property with amazing staff. Be aware beds are firm. I like a soft bed so had issues but this is not a slight on the property but just a personal preference.

Lovely apartment with spectacular city views

Stayed on 37th floor in a 2-bed apartment with amazing views of the city. A great central location and could walk everywhere in the cbd - trams right outside if going further. The apartment felt spacious, very comfortable beds with everything we needed on hand. Despite being in the middle of the city it was absolutely quiet and peaceful inside. There was great communication ahead of our stay and we were offered a later checkout time. Apartment looked as good as the photos and we were very happy with our choice. Would definitely recommend!

Wonderful stay

Had a wonderful stay. Very central location to shops, restaurants and trams. The room was clean, comfortable and had amazing views of the city. Was offered a later checkout and we were able to leave our bags at the hotel after checking out to explore more of Melbourne before flying out. Loved our stay.

Awesome stay

We found our 2 bedroom 2 bathroom apartment very comfortable. It was in a great location with tram stops right outside. I would recommend staying here.

For the overall price of property, beds aren’t up to the quality you would expect, not very comfortable.

Stayed here for two nights with my 2 children. Breathtaking views, very clean and comfy home. The bed are comfortable. Shops nearby and transport right down the building. Great customer service. We will definitely stay here again next time!

Nice property in the CBD

Recently stayed one night in a one bedroom apartment. The apartment was located on the 25th floor was modern and clean and had everything needed. All interaction with staff at reception was pleasant. Check in was easy room was available at my arrival time. Communication was great and personal. Location was excellent walking distance to alot of the cbd, southbank, Marvel. Great stay.

This is my second stay at this fantastic property. I enjoyed the two bedroom apartment and the additional cost is worth it for even more space. Great views. Beautiful bathrooms and the air conditioning is perfect too. Service of the staff is always prompt and wonderful.

Very walkable location and super close to the free city center tram service. Lots of dining options within a 15 min radius. Property is pretty well kept though hallways smelled of a strong perfumed cleaner and carpets were moderately stained. Upper floors seemed to monthly rentals. Rooms were clean and is comparable in size to other major city business district apartments I have visited/lived in. Only complaint was check-in gave no information regarding how housekeeping worked(what day they came, what/when amenities are replaced etc.). Fortunately, we have stayed at other apart-hotels before so we were familiar enough with the process. Otherwise the stay was lovely.

Collins House Apartments

This was my first visit. The staff were great - very friendly, very efficient. The room was clean and modern - I was on the 35th floor with nice views of the city. My only hesitation in giving this a top score was the lifts - a couple of times during the day there was a bit of a wait (and a queue) - a minor inconvenience. That said, I would certainly be happy to stay again.

Good location, view and comfort, poor comms

Lovely views and well equipped. Shame they did such a bad job of pre-briefing their check-in process - it was very frustrating to arrive at a blank door with a numberpad and to have no way to get in to reception. Had to tailgate another resident when they showed up. Very sub-optimal for an upmarket stay like this. They were very apologetic when this iwas mentioned in their house survey but no mention of what should have happened or whether it is possible to gain entry without having to make a phone call (tougher and sometimes impossible for international travellers).

This was such an amazing place to stay. The check in team were so knowledgeable and helpful, explaining how to access the lifts and room locations. The apartment was immaculate, extremely clean, beautiful cabinetry, bathroom was gorgeous, beds were comfortable, kitchenette had all the basic necessities. View of the city was spectacular. We cannot find a thing that we could fault. There is no on site parking, but we were directed to a parking facility a block away and it also was well maintained and clean. Nicest we’ve had the opportunity of leaving our car in. We will definitely be returning here next time we come to Melbourne. This is easily 5 Star accommodation. And i must say we are very picky when it comes to cleanliness and eye to detail. What a beautiful building.

The trams were right at the doorstep. The unit was clean and spacious. Frontdesk staff was very friendly as well.

Had a 2 bedroom apartment for a few nights and it was very comfortable. Great location, close to the tram line to get us to Regent Theatre, the casino, the shopping outlets or the busier streets such as Bourke street mall. Communication was simple and had a great view of the city from the 44th floor. Would come and stay here again next time for sure.

Had an amazing stay at Collins House. Property was immaculately clean and positioned perfectly just a short stroll from Southern Cross station, with many shopping options close by. Staff were very attentive, friendly and accommodating. Looking forward to returning in October. Definitely one of Melbourne’s best - Daniel McLaughlin

We had 2 bedroom 2 bathroom apartment for 8 night's. Front staff and manager were all super friendly and helpful. We negatives with this property at all

A very convenient location but noisy during the night due to traffic in the city and plumbing issues. Repeated water leakage in the laundry area despite repair.

Central location, near the tram, clean apartment, good communication and lovely views. Would stay again.

Fabulous place to stay, very clean spacious, conveniently located to restaurants, shops, public transport. Bed could be a bit softer though. Definitely stay again.

Location of Collin House could not be better. The front desk staff was outstanding. Always friendly and helpful. The unit itself was minimal at best. No coffee maker. A total of two trash bags with instructions to remove your trash. One dish towel with no way to drain the dishes. Very minimal utensils and dishes. One sharp knife, a large chef’s knife, no paring knife. If you’re staying a day or two, these would not be consequential. But if you are planning to use as a condo, this is not the place for you.

Close to tram, right in the central, easy to get around. Great view and amenities, comfortable beds.

Great position - handy to everywhere. Astonishing views (were on 28th of 52 floors); good air-con and great kitchen. Definitely stay again. Good value for money.

Great service in an amazing area do recommend

The apartment was great, clean and tidy with plenty of space for what we needed. It had everything we could’ve needed, and was only a 5-10 minute walk from most major places. The only issue was the bed wasn’t overly comfortable.

Great location

The apartment was ok but not great. The shower had no seal so the bathmat was always soaking wet and the vanity and kitchen bench marked really easily so looked a bit grotty. The couch wasn't that comfortable and the sheets were too small for the bed so were constantly bunching up (which annoyed me) The location was fantastic - Southbank was within walking distance and the trams were practically right outside the door The staff were lovely and nothing was too much trouble I would recommend staying here but a clean once a week wasn't really enough

I would have given Collins house a 5 star rating overall. The reason I didn’t is that one of the rooms smelt very strongly of cigarette and even though the staff were great and went and sprayed the room it still really smelt. I would suggest the enforcement of their $200 smoking charge so professional cleaners can come in and get the smell out.
