Relax here.
Colca Lodge was very well presented, staff were excellent and our room was more than adequate. Room was cold when we arrived. The under floor heating was switched on, but I'm not sure it was working. We were given an oil filled radiator which did the job. Our junior suite was a good size, although a bit too open plan in the toilet area! Plenty hot water and good shower. Hot springs were just that, a great way to relax. Food was well cooked and service was fast. Menu was a little limited considering what you pay to stay at the lodge. Nice walks in the area and close to ancient Inca sites.
Great hotel, stunning location. Very nice lodges. The hot springs are wonderful. Good food and very friendly staff. Ideal for visiting Colca Canyon and relaxing on the beautiful mountains!
Colca Lodge Spa and Hot Springs is located next to the Colca River. The grounds of the resort are meticulously kept and the hot springs are wonderful. The food is the restaurants is excellent, reasonably price and the service was very good. They have a small llama ranch on the property that you can tour. Overall, the lodge is great place to relax or book various activities that are found in the region.
Love my two day at Colca Lodge. The scenery and ambiance are spectacular. I enjoyed the hot springs, short hike to the alpaca farm and the exhibits explaining condor/raptor habitat in Colca and how the alpaca fleece is harvested. The scenery is pastoral and relaxing. The hotel staff are top notch, friendly and helpful.
Relaxing Stay
A nice ce relaxing break before seeing the Condors the next morning. This is possibly the best Hotel in the area but it didn't feel snooty or superior. Just good friendly staff and good service. Had a relaxing dip in the spa - which also has its own bar. Evening dinner was great and reasonably priced. Would recomend
Beautiful and peaceful property with hot springs on property. My kids loved the llama farm and the hot springs. Nice kept very comfortable rooms perfect for families
Will visit again!
An amazing hotel with gorgeous views and lots of interesting things to do nearby. I’d loved watching the stars at night from the hot springs
Amazing and peacful
Grounds were amazing with hot pools, alpacas and info about alpacas and condors, river crossing, walks around the property. We borrowed fishing rod and tried trout fishing. Staff was very friendly. The breakfast was very good. We have also enjoyed the dinner and drinks at the bar with a great service. Room was nice and clean with a heater. Wish we could stay longer.
This is a beautiful property - the pictures do not do it justice. We loved the view from our room and enjoyed the oversized bathroom with double sinks. The bed was comfortable and we appreciated the convenience of the on-site restaurant just steps away. We enjoyed our meals there and the staff were very kind and helpful. I really enjoyed the ricotto relleno. We loved visiting the alpacas and really loved the onsen experience (we reserved in advance.) We took advantage of the hot spring pools also and really enjoyed it.
Great hotel for relaxing and recharging
Very beautiful location and well cared for hotel (both the buildings and the grounds). The hot spring pools were wonderful and a highlight of the visit - better than most of the onsens we've been to in Japan! The breakfast (included in the room price) was the best of any of the hotels we stayed at in Peru, and the dinner was also fine. We would not hesitate to return to this location again, and would probably stay 3 nights and skip the Cruz de Condor day trip - instead just relax at the hotel, and walk up to the nearby Uyo Uyo ruins.
This is majestic place, run very well (and managed with care in environmental friendliness). Everything is classy and the people very friendly.
We rented a car and drive here from Arequipa airport for the weekend. Words cannot describe the amazing weekend my friends and I had. The spa, the views, the thermal waters, etc. you have to experience it for yourself. I will definitely be retuning!
I love Colca Lodge I will recommend.
Everything about our stay at this lodge was wonderful.
El hotel es lindo!!! Esta ubicado en el yanque, es un hotel muy tranquilo., pero a su vez tienen de todo para hacerte sentir increible. Tienes sus propias llamas y alpacas, tienes sus lagunas termales, la hemos pasado increible.
Almost there!
The grounds of this hotel are exceptional along with the beautiful hot springs! The reception staff are stiff and snobby unlike the restaurant staff who are warm and kind. The restaurant was attractive, but the food was rather dull, which was especially noticeable in this country full of exceptional restaurants. It is a very clean resort.
Relaxing stay.
Colca lodge was gorgeous, the grounds were beautiful and the room was spacious. The hot springs were perfect and the we had a very relaxing time. The only negative was that the room was not as clean as we would have liked. The staff were very sweet.
We had the most wonderful stay here. The staff, room, pools and dining was all exceptional with a caring attention to detail. We were only able to stay the one night and wish we could have stayed a second as we enjoyed it so much.
Great place and beautiful área The lodge is awasome
This is beautiful place but not for seniors or disabled people with limitations. I believe it should be on the website. My Mom had a hard time going down to the water springs but the management was incredible helpful and accommodating.
Unique and beautiful
This property is amazing and a little oasis of comfort. It’s clean and comfortable with good food. If your looking for therapeutic hot springs though this is not the place. The hot springs are kept at a warm temperature for people to hang out and drink. The minerals are low because of so much dilution. They have the resources for hot pools. There are boiling springs across the river and hotter one feeding the other 3. They have a full bar by the pools and it’s set up like a hot pool. I love hot springs and most enjoy therapeutic ones, you would be sick if you drank in therapeutic pools. I was let down by this fact so wanted to post this for those that go to hot springs.
Lovely place!
Would have loved to stay longer
One night. Enjoyed the grounds and hot springs. Breakfast was fantastic.
This property was gorgeous all around! The staff was friendly, helpful, and respectful. The food was beautiful and delicious. The grounds were immaculate. Our kids loved it! We highly recommend!
Property is located in a mesmerizing location. The hot springs are great and the rooms beautiful but the staff at checking was not very friendly. On the other hand, staff at the restaurent was sweet and nice. The food was ok but not as good as what Peruvian cuisine could be . Overall it is a beautiful place I would recommend
Colca Lodge is a nice place, but I think is overrated, and it's not worth the price. BEWARE that some rooms don't have a TV or a Minibar(Because the Hotel is Eco/Friendly) but for the price, I paid I assumed everything was included. Aranwa is a little bit less expensive than Colca Lodge with Better Breakfast Buffet and overall a better experience.
Nice hotel in the middle of nowhere. Breakfast was not good at all. Staff were ok
Perumin 2022
Everything was great, nice facility, excellent views and food. The only bad thing was a wake up call we received at 6 am and I never ask for that
Natural hot springs tubs are great. Good food, lovely rooms, great staff. A wonderful base for Colca Canyon activities
Awesome and relaxing stay
We had an outstanding experience I colca. We spent six nights there and really enjoyed the opportunity to relax and still be able to do some hikes around the property. The customer service was phenomenal and probably the best we experienced in our six weeks in Peru. Management kept checking in to see if he was anything they could do to improve our experience which was already great. When they learned that I was vegan they actually created a separate menu to accommodate me. I would totally book with them again
Overall experience was good. On Expedia hotel showing only suite pictures. We end up having very boring very ugly room. On top of all that our shower didn’t work. Customer service at the restaurant is not very pleasant. Now, guy name Luis at the grill and Bar is amazing! Hot springs were clean and amazing!
Very nice property. Spring area is great. Excellent view
Lovely place to relax
Great location with beautiful views of the terraces, river, and alpaca farm. The hotel is a great place to unwire and relax after all the climbing and trekking from the Amazon to Sacred Valley to Machu Picchu. There are 2 restaurants but with the same menu. Choice of dishes are decent, you may get tired after 2 days stayed. We booked a suite with perfect view of both the terrace and river. The hot springs and spa can be enjoyable if you don't expect too much, as the place is more of a nature retreat than a luxury resort. The night sky is amazing. It would be perfect if they cut back the lighting at night. There are way too much lights, and electric usage on the ground at night time.
Its location is wonderful. Personnel focused on client. Room plumbing could use some maintenance. Overall an unforgettable place.
I wanted to stay forever!
So romantic! Just a wonderful location with great hikes from the hotel door. The spa was amazing, reasonably priced and we loved that the hot spring pools were open 24/7
The location of the hotel is truly outstanding with a fantastic back drop. The staff were friendly and efficient and looked after us well. The hot tubs were fantastic and the restaurant was pretty good. The room was relatively simple but all in this was a great experience.
Great spot in the Andes
A very relaxing experience in the highlands of Peru. Great dining, views, service and Spa. Can’t miss the hot springs !
El lugar es maravilloso para descansar y despejar la mente, el paisaje es increible. La comida es muy buena!
hot springs
great stay - thin walls
We had a great stay and loved the facilities. The hotel was not fully booked, but they gave us a room with a connectibg door to another room. This door was closed, however the other room was occupied by other people and you cozld hear them speaking, even though they were not noisy. I don‘t understand the room assignments, especially when the hotel was obly half full.
Beautiful location about 4 hours from Arequipa. Service and food were excellent.
I love the property, only thing I didn’t like is they nickel and dime you for everything
This was my 3rd time at this hotel. I was hoping for nice quiet time, and quality hot springs. But place has changed. It was very busy with lots of families with kids. Very noisy during the day. Hard to enjoy my time. Restaurant service was too busy had to order room service just to be served. Access to hot springs was impossible during the day because of the amount of family & kids. The water quality was not good, they don’t change the water as often as they should nor is the temperature hot. Even after requesting a hotter temp pool in the evening it wasn’t done. Very disappointed & I don’t recommend if you’re looking for a a peaceful getaway.
Wonderful people great place we enjoy so mush we ended stay 1 more day
Go for the views
Beautiful setting in the valley along the river. The rooms are basic, but you can’t beat the views! Staff are friendly and the food is good.
We spent 5 great days at Colca Lodge, great facilities and excellent service. The restaurant and food preparation was some of the best I have experienced in Peru, excellent.
Big thank you to the staff!!
We checked in for a 3 day/2 night stay, but ended up leaving the first night. The staff was nice enough to let us know asap that a Quarentine was going into effect and if we didn't get out of the district we would be stuck there for a minimum of 15 days. They gave us until the morning, but we decided to leave that night to try to catch a flight out of Arequipa in the morning. Soooo, after a day of travel to get to Colca Lodge, we ended up having to turn around and go back. It was pretty disappointing because the Lodge is just gorgeous. I didn't get to enjoy the hot springs which was the main draw for me, but we did go to the the restaurant for lunch, the spa for massages, and ordered room service for dinner. Everything was really wonderful and I'd love to go back one day to enjoy it properly. A big thanks you to the staff for helping us make it out. Had they not arranged for that late night taxi, we would still be in Peru.
We had a great stay at Colca Lodge! The rooms are great with lovely bathrooms The property is gorgeous with plenty of places to relax including the thermal baths! Meals at the restaurant were delicious. We loved eating lunch and dinner outside! The staff were all helpful and professional. We definitely recommend staying at least 2 nights at this relaxing eco-lodge.
Beautiful! I loved staying at this property! I really took advantage of early morning dips in the hot springs pools! I love that the pools are more natural than overly modernized. Everything is very clean and serine. The only downside is that the staff were not entirely helpful. I asked about getting transportation, and they sent me to a travel agency and the agency never responded. Also, they just said if I want to take public transport, I should take a bus to Yangue. When I arrived, there were no taxis in the square since it’s such a small town, so we ended up walking across town, down a dirt road, down a hillside, and across the bridge. We were coming from walking the Colca Canyon, so we were physically able, but it seemed like we were really every man for themselves. When I emailed and asked about a taxi company, they said they don’t work with any. What hotel doesn’t work with a taxi company? The property is beautiful, but if you don’t rent a car, it’s difficult to get to and they are not very helpful in setting up transportation. I also asked where they go these beautiful Peruvian wall hangings, and they receptionist said she’d email with the name, and she never emailed me back.
Exactly what we needed after long traveling
I accidentally came across this hotel, and it was exactly what we needed to recharge after long days of travel right before. My friend who grew up in Chivay was amazed that I found something so amazing in her backyard that she didn’t know about. Would absolutely recommend staying here and enjoying the hot springs.
Paradise in the Colca
This place was a dream! We were hunting for somewhere within the colca that would allow for day hikes without following the standard tourist trips of the Colca. The hotel couldnot have been better. Rooms were quiet, bed was comfy, the view was to die for, there were cosy nooks and crannies with woodfires or panoramic views from which to curl up and read or enjoy a drink. And their hot springs were the real highlight. Enjoying delicious pisco sours from the hot springs next to the river was the cherry on top!
I really liked the hot springs and the very helpful and attentive staff. It is a little remote from Yanque but this makes it very peaceful and a great place to relax.
We absolutely loved this property. Clearly the best in the area, the hot springs with delivery from the bar and the incredible junior suite made this feel like a honeymoon. Restaurant is wonderful and employees are gems.
Hot springs are cool ! The staff is average , upon check-in they didn’t have our reservation , the front desk lady looked pretty clueless about everything! We got severe stomach problems after eating at the property a hamburger with alpaca meat. One of the dinner dishes was completely disappointing- bad cheese quality. Property is very overrated, food average with bad quality, sorry!
Great hotel, location a bit remote
Loved our stay!
Amazing hotel with a great view! The service at the hotel was great and the employees were friendly. The only downside were the mosquitos in the dinning room. It was difficult to enjoy your meal with the bugs flying into your food.
This is a terrific hotel in a spectacular setting. The hot springs are fabulous. Restaurants are great too. Service is professional and prompt. The room was more like a condo. It was very spacious with a separate living room. There was even a bedroom upstairs. Highly recommended. Wish we could have stayed longer.
Such a beautiful area and Colca lodge is al special place. Stars were amazing looking out from the thermal baths. Saw lots of condors too.
This is definitely the best choice for visiting the Colca Canyon with maximum comfort and good mood. Chic territory, with great views. Hot springs (go there in a bathrobe from the room and do not forget to order something to drink while sitting in the bath), a farm with llamas and alpacas. Restaurant with good food and a great view from the veranda (They have special prices for lunch). Excellent level of English at the reception and quite acceptable in the restaurant. Instant luggage logistics both from the room to the parking and in the opposite direction. Very quick check-in and check-out. Ecological hotel - one continuous minus. The room is cold (3 Twin Beds), do not expect it to warm up, immediately request an electric heater. It’s a very long time to wait when hot water starts running from the tap. Once, they counted food wrong in a restaurant, but corrected the bill on demand. Despite the fact that I asked to bring dessert along with coffee - this was not done.
Honestly, I don’t really have anything bad to say about this property. There is so much to do here and everything is clean and well taken care of. The staff was extremely nice, check in was easy, the bed was enormous and comfortable. And to have the hot springs private and available 24 hours a day was amazing. If I HAD to choose anything “bad” I’d say it would be nice to have outlets close to the bed and possibly a sliding door to the bathroom to make it a little more quiet. But I thought it was a 5 star place.
Beautiful location, very friendly stuff. Delicious food & presentation.
So peaceful, staff is very kind and friendly. Rooms have no TVs (I was ok with this) and no iron available. Birds and river sounds were my favorite. Loved the spa!
Location and facility are amazing. The hot springs are a lot of fun as well as the Alpaca and Llama ranch.
Hot spring was very good
Very nice hotel and relaxing hot springs!
I booked a night at Colca Lodge for my in-laws who both had a fantastic experience at this hotel. They enjoyed the comfortable and friendly environment in the hotel and the staff who were extremely helpful. They thought the landscape and surrounding natural area was beautiful and the nearby hot springs proved to be very relaxing. Two minor complains thought: firstly, there was a cracked mug in the bedroom when they arrived and the main light in the room was not working; secondly, there should be more information about the newly built bridge near the hotel as that is not yet visible on Google Maps.
Location location location
An amazing location, very comfortable room, staff were excellent.
UNFORGETABLE!
Great Hotel in Colca
Great Hotel! The problem is that they insist that the reservations through Expedia are NOT paid!!!!!! We had to paid all the rooms again. We are 12! We showed the confirmation email from Expedia, and they said they have the reservation but no payment!!!!!!!!!
Great hotel in a beautiful setting
We enjoyed our stay. The facilities were great, my only recommendation would be more hooks in the bathroom. Restaurant only average, but the hot springs, proximity to nearby beautiful places, including the ruins of Uyo Uyo, more than outweighed that fact. The staff were helpful and arranged an early taxi to Chivay so that we could catch our bus to Cusco.
We loved our stay. Albeit pricy, the service, location and amenities were just perfect. Loved the early morning at the hot springs!!!
Interesting stay at Colca Lodge
The resort is in a stunning location, right next to a river. The room was large and comfortable, despite the fact it didn't have a TV. The design of the room was very interesting, with rustic-looking furniture, a huge bed, and a very big bathroom. There was no wifi in the room, but you can get reasonably fast internet access if you go to one of the restaurants. The staff was very helpful and we had a wonderful, albeit brief stay. We would definitely stay here again if visiting Colca Canyon.
Lovely hotel
This is a beautiful albeit basic hotel - perfect for a one night stay to experience bathing in the hot springs beneath the stars.
Quiet, ideally situated for visiting the Colca Canyon.
Would stay here again
Had a nice couple days at the Colca Lodge. The room was very nice and the hot spring were amazing. The front desk set up an excursion for me and my friend to some nearby sights and took care of everything along the way. Would definitely stay again if I was ever in the area.
Quiet and relaxing
Hotel staff was very friendly. Nice room. Great to have private hot springs right on property.
Paradise on Earth
We were expecting to arrive to a nice hotel but it was an amazing surprise to see that our hotel was so womderful we couldn't stop admiring it amd the sightseeing!
Comfortable hotel accessing Cruz del Condor
From the Chivay bus stop, 4M bus staff arranged a taxi to Colca Lodge, after the amazing 6 hour trip from Puno. Check-in worked well, room comfortable, in this very isolated location. Restaurant was good, Net access a bit difficult mainly from the bar, earth tremor no extra charge!, Didn't try the thermal pools, those that did enjoyed it. Shared guide/ driver for Cruz del Condor next day arranged by hotel, excellent service. Arrived 8.20 just as (maybe 10-12) condors took to the air. A glorious sight for the next 1.25 hours. 4M bus connections worked well to Arequipa next day, transport to hotel door.
Food was fantastic. The hot springs and the llama and alpaca farm were fabulous.
Phenomenal surroundings!
Gorgeous property! The very best hot springs I experienced in Peru...partly due to the nice warm temperatures of the various pools to choose from, but also due to the great poolside service for delicious beverages! I truly felt relaxed and beyond content for my 2 night stay.
Amazing hotel on the banks of a river
I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the Colca canyon - it is expensive, but totally worth it! It is ideally located alongside the river with amazing views and hot springs. The rooms are designed to look like some nearby pre-Incan ruins and are large and comfortable. There is no wi-fi or TVs, so it really allows you to get away from things. The service is great and we enjoyed our meals. If you are looking for a romantic lodge or a little luxury on your trip, book here.
Great bit of luxury in the Andes!
We went to The Colca Lodge to celebrate an important wedding anniversary. We wanted the hot springs experience, and got it. Great natural pools at different temperatures, lovely rooms, great grounds and views that did not quit. We enjoyed walking the grounds, visiting the Condor and LLama exhibits and seeing the llamas up close. A problem came up with our key and it was quickly--and well--accommodated. Front desk manager also solved a transportation problem for us. Great job!!!
Peaceful retreat
Great facilities! Everybody is welcoming and willing to help you to make your stay perfect Peaceful ,beautiful surroundings We will be back!!!
A vacation within a vacation
We stayed at this lovely spa for three days. Everything was amazing ! It is a real Oasis in the Colca Canyon area. Surrounded by small town ( about $10 car ride away that the staff will summon), you can enjoy the views of the river, the canyon and an amazing spa and hot spring experience all in one! I had Marialaina from the spa give me the best massage ever to the views of the flowing river. The restaurants are a bit pricey but are worth the price- excellent food and service!
Colca Lodge stay for two nights
The Lodge is located in a remarkably beautiful place on the bank of the Colca river. While it is a lodge and not a traditional hotel it is a great place to spend a couple of nights. Be aware that it is an "ecological" type of hotel - no TVs, no Internet in the rooms, and very slow Internet in the lobby. The biggest attraction is the hot springs. They are again in a beautiful setting and a well maintained. The breakfast is very-very good. Both dinners we had there were of the average quality at best compared to other hotel restaurants in Peru.
Beautiful Lodge
We really loved it here. The lodge was quite nice. The setting was spectacular. The room was great. The hot pools were awesome. Our kids loved the llama farm and rope swing. I got a massage and I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was (not something I'd expect in a small town in Peru). The setting for the massage was the best I've ever had!
Beautiful valley and amazing hot springs
Awesome place, great location, wonderful staff. Definitely going to visit this place again.
Amazing hotel!
Stayed there only one night but wish it would have been at least 2. The hotel has an amazing location in a valley, it's hot springs are right next to the river and have 4 pools of different temperatures and depths. The rooms are great for 2 or a family but I would not share the room with another couple. I did not use the spa but their services seem really exotic and good, the most interesting betting the chocolate massage. Food is delicious and staff is great! They give you maps at reception which shows a few walks to Uyo Uyo ruins and waterfalls! in one word - amazing!
Epic Peruvian Resort in Colca Canyon
We stayed here two days, but could have stayed weeks...It was a welcoming change from all the hectic city hotels in Peru. Its isolated on a beautiful piece of land in the Upper Colca Canyon, on the other side of the river of the town of Yanque. Its a little tough to get there, but once you are you won't want to leave. Its a great spot to stay if you are planning to see the condors fly. You can arrange a private taxi to get you from Arequipa to Colca Lodge for about S./ 280 ($100) each way or can jump on a tour bus ($35 per person) that will take you there in addition to seeing parts of the Colca Canyon. The on-site alpaca ranch is a great touch and the natural hot springs are absolutely amazing. The views, the service, the location, and the great food and cocktails makes this resort one of the nicest places to stay in not only Peru, but in all the places I've ever stayed...truly magnificent.
Amazing place to stay in Peru/Colca Canyon
This was our favorite place in all of Peru. The location is awesome. The eco-lodge is located by the Colca River in the Colca Canyon. It is a 45-minute drive (for most of the part on dirt roads) from the nearby town of Chivay. But it's worth it. Because you feel like you've gotten away completely from the world. We went for walks on the grounds (including to the llama and alpaca farm and along the river), went trekking to ruins (we were the only people at Uyo Uyo!), hiked from nearby village of Yanque back, and hung out in the hot springs under the stars. Highly recommend this place!
Peaceful, quiet, and relax in the thermal Spa
Recommend to stay a minimum of 2 nights to enjoy all the benefits the hotel has to offer. We choose to stay 3 nights. -- Do NOT choose this hotel if you are addicted to TV, radio or INTERNET (wi/fi). The 3G WiFi is only available at the lobby and they only have 2 computers.-- The GOOD NEWS!!! Been available to stay AWAY from the daily routine of our lives: TV, Internet, News, Radio, FACEBOOK, etc. made this hotel the ticket for my wife and I. I also believe that my childerns ( 26 and 17) would enjoy this hotel as well. It allows for family interaction and the opportunity to talk rather than TXT all the time. The hotel is in Yanque, about 25 minutes of Chivay. Make the arrangements with 4M Express in advance, or you can easily arrive to Chivay, and take a Taxi to the hotel. If you contact the hotel in advance, they can have someone waiting for you at Plaza de Armas for a minimal fee: 15 Soles or $7. Overall this is a great hotel for couples and families. They will enjoy their time together as a COUPLE/FAMILY. Keep the electronic stash away on this hotel…non-needed…except a good camera! Plan you trip depending on the weather. It is very dry weather and although it is cold you may not feel it until it is too late. Always keep a rain coat of some sort...poncho works great...$1 at the dollar store. JAN-MAR is the Rain season MAY-JUL is the Cold season
One Night
Nothing at all to complain about other than the advertised but nonexistent wifi. Even the computers in the lobby were hard to connect.
Excellent place to satay
Very nice and clean hotel with the excellent service, located in the beautiful Colca Valley. It is very quiet and relaxing.
Good Hotel to visit to explore the Colca Canyon
This Hotel is one of the best Hotels situated in the Colca Canyon. It is hard to access and find but this can be a positive. The restaurants situated at the hotel are very good and the food quality and service excellent.
The Colca Lodge is in a magnifient location, far from the madding crowd. Comfortable, but the food was disappointing for such a marvellous hotel.
Increíble
Simplemente IMPRESIONANTE. El hotel es mágico, el servicio es genial, la comida, las termas, los masajes...de verdad un capricho
No encantó ver la noche estrellada desde las fosas termales, la habitación muy muy amplia y cómoda
Excelente hotel
Excelente hotel, personal súper amable, Unas vistas espectaculares, para relajarse totalmente.
Increible
Es increble para estar dentro del hotel. Spa Guas Termales Camnitas... y un sevicio de Primera.
