Peaceful part of the island.

Beautiful location with a view of the sea. It's a more secluded part of the island but a 20 min walk down or free hotel drop-off takes you to a wonderful little pocket of restaurants/beach bars/cafes - honestly hidden gems. Really great quality for the food. We spent 8 nights here and have now moved to Lamai Beach (packed with tourist) and we honestly wished we were still in the North. The food was better, and the streets were quieter. The downside is that taxi/Grabs are expensive if you want to visit other parts of the island. The only negative thing I would mention is that the shower water temperature is very difficult to control in both rooms we were in, it's either cold or boiling hot.

Nice hotel, spacious room and a great pool. You are up in the mountains, so you are a bit isolated. No hotel shuttle into town or the main road… and it’s a hike. Also a lot of stairs… I wouldn’t stay on 3, 4 , or 5th floors.. too many stairs and NO elevator.

Koh Samui Hillside Gem

We had a lovely stay at Code for a week. The hotel was in great condition, and I can’t fault the room at all - spacious, lots of areas for lounging during the October rain, and a great covered balcony. The view of the sea and neighbouring Koh Pahngan was outstanding. It was an added bonus to have a small kitchen area and full sized fridge. The hotel was going through some low-season/Covid renovations - the restaurant terrace was unfortunately closed the majority of our stay which was a shame as it’s a really nice spot. However, they took 20% of our total food bill for this and the Thai food especially was great. The staff were friendly and the massages at the spa were also good. Overall it feels like we found a little gem in the hills of Koh Samui. Only things to improve would be more drinking water/re-fill tap provided. This wasn’t too much of an issue as there is a 7-11 close by. In addition, be prepared for a steep walk down to/back from the beach. Most other guests seemed to have their own transportation whereas we were on foot. It was fine for us, but be prepared for the walk and being relatively secluded during your time here if you don’t have/rent a scooter or car (we got the impression that during the non low/Covid-season there is a more regular shuttle service provided so we may have just been unlucky!). Overall an amazing value and excellent stay.

Code’s staff was top notch, Nun at the front desk who took care of all our excursion needs was an excellent host and we needed not to worry about a thing. Friendly and welcoming from beginning to end. And also Lay was by far the biggest highlight of this hotel. Hardworking and gracious he not only was the bellhop but the waiter and room service attendant also. The ladies of the restaurant were also very nice along with the rest of the front desk staff. The spa services they offer here were also very well worth the money! There are alot of stairs at this hotel especially if you are on the 4th level like we were. But you are rewarded with a better view of the coastline above the buildings in front of the hotel. There are no elevators at this hotel so keep in mind especially if handicapped. Now the things that were disappointing were the wear and tear of the general room area. The shower had grime and rust, the room service we had on the third night was left outside of our door for until day 5. Also when they changed the sheets it was only rotated and not changed completely. The hotel is off the beaten path so if you are looking to escape the hustle and bustle of a popular area it’s perfect. But if you want to adventure outside of the area it will cost you around 600-1000 baht each way. Again I want to reiterate the staff here is what made my stay here nice. The food at the restaurant was great and that’s comforting since the closest outside food is very far.

Great stay over al

At first I was quite disappointed to learn that their restaurant was not open and room service was not available due to Covid. It was good some restaurants and cafe near the beach were open though. There was no elevator so it was a bit tiring to go up to the 4th floor. The room was comfortable and I loved the stylish interior. The staff was all very nice, including the concierge, housekeepers and the driver so it was a pleasant stay over all!

Had a fantastic two-week stay at Code. Loved the design of the place, but the staff just make it perfect - warm, helpful, friendly and fun - they are really special. The suite was clean, sleek and spacious with a very comfortable king-sized bed as well as living area and kitchen. Beautiful view from the the hillside across the bay, and the infinity pool is a great place to hangout - the cocktails here are master-class! Very good breakfast - buffet plus al a carte included in room price. All day/evening dining at the restaurant too - excellent Thai and European dishes at decent prices. We loved being perched on the hill and then taking a ride to other parts of the island - felt like the best of both worlds as you could chill and mingle at the hotel and then explore other spots. Code also have a beach-club Chi which is very cool and a lot of fun - guests get a discount there. Again the pool, vibe, food and service is brilliant. One of the reasons we booked Code was that it has a tennis court which we used a lot, but there were so many other things that made us love our stay and we'll definitely be coming back.

Nice stay, a few touches would make it better

Nice boutique resort - rooms were spacious and clean, staff were really friendly and helpful. Loved the colour, pool looked great (didn't get to use), and breakfast was definitely a highlight! Bathrooms could do with more practical space for towels and toiletries however, and the gym equipment needs a major upgrade. There were few facilities and amenities in general, befitting of a boutique experience.

Modern but Aging & Remote | OK stay, not more

Pros: ----- Modern Overall Design (albeit aging poorly) Quiet and private Complimentary transfers to two local beaches Complimentary cell phone to arrange pickup Helpful to have a kitchenette and full size fridge Cons: ----- Min 50 USD extra per day on transportation Few nearby restaurants aside from local beaches guys Aging, gross interiors Staff not particularly helpful - somewhat deceptive Average, repetitive breakfast ====== Quiet northern location, away from hassles of town life. Both a blessing and a curse: distance of the hotel from nearby beaches requires motorized transport or a lengthy walk down dangerously narrow roads, with cars and mopeds often whizzing close. Hotel provides transport and phones to call and request pick up for 2 nearby beaches. Everything requires a taxi ride, which added at least US$50/day. Hotel itself designed as modern resort. Age has taken its toll. The interiors of the two rooms in which we stayed were deteriorating, with sink drawers having their linings peeling away from water damage. We had some issues with the staff when trying to adjust our room though ultimately they helped out. Breakfast is lackluster. Seems no food is brought after first serving, so arrive early. Hotel does offer eggs and pancakes along with some rotating special dishes. This is an OK place and good for a remote get-away. The north part of Koh Samui is different than the rest: secluded, less busy; nice. Code lets you enjoy - just not like photos suggest.

It was super clean and modern and the view was spectacular. The staff was excellent tried hard to please at every opportunity. The cuisine was perfectly acceptable at the restaurant. My only fault would be the gym had used equipment clearly not what one would expect from a 5 star property. The closet door had a broken mirror. Minor details that didn’t detract from my enjoyment. I would recommend this property to anyone.

Not near beach, horrible design.

It was our first trip to Koh Samui. I definitely made a mistake booking 4 nights at Code. First, LOCATION. Code is not near the beach, however it does have a nice view of the ocean. Also, it is at the top of a very steep hill which makes you trapped at the resort and forced to only eat at their restaurant and no where else. Second, DESIGN. EVERYTHING is white. This makes it hard for them to make the room appear clean. Also, the room we were in was designed in a way that everyone walking past would look into the room. There was literally nowhere to hide. The best way to describe it was that we felt like animals on display at a zoo. Whoever designed the hotel should stick with designing Motel 6’s and never attempt to design a “chic boutique” hotel again. Anyway, long story short. We spent 3 miserable hours at Code before we had another hotel (Sareeraya Hotel) pick us up. Of course , Code refused to refund my prepaid nights. We both really felt like we were being rescued when we left. BTW Sareeraya hotel was one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in. It was Amazing!

Code is a class establishment in every regard; top-to-bottom, start-to-finish. It’s dedication to excellence is evident everywhere but no more so than in its staff. They genuinely want you to have the best possible experience in Koh Samui. Hence we did. Upon returning to Australia all we can think about is going back to both Code and its associated beach club, Chi.

What a little gem this boutique hotel turned out to be!! From the moment I arrived, I was made to feel like I was a VIP guest. The staff were so lovely and very quickly became my friends, particularly Kurgze on reception who was super friendly and efficient..nothing was to much trouble! The hotel was clean and just beautiful! They had some renovation work going on but it didn’t disturb me much and they were very attentive to check that it didn’t. The hotel location is a little remote but if your looking for a quieter part of the island it’s just perfect and with the shuttle service and personal mobile phone for you to call them on, it’s not to bad to get around. I loved the hotel and the staff so much, I extended my stay! Just a perfect little paradise. Thank you again Code!

We had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay in Koh Samui at the Code Hotel. The service was exceptional with the staff always on hand with a smile. The view, pool and location were amazing. Nice hotel but not very good location. We knew that it was remotely located from the main tourists attractions but we didn't accept that there would be nothing interesting around. The local public beach was behind the main road and it was very small and dirty. The local restaurant choices were limited and overpriced because there was no competition nearby. The rooms are well designed and originally were built as private condos. I found that the bed was very hard and uncomfortable to sleep on but I guess it is a personal preference. The hotel provides a shuttle bus to their beach club that is 30 minutes away and costs 200 Bat for a return trip. My only complaint is their massage service. My wife and I booked 1 hour session each that only lasted 45 minutes and was very expensive even after receiving a 20 percent discount voucher. Overall our stay was pleasant , although, three days would have been enough .

Clean chic hotel with great view

From the moment we arrived till the end, we have had a wonderful time. The staffs were all very friendly. Approachable and helpful. We had some system error for our rooms on day 1 but on the next day after i clarified about the room, it was sorted out quickly. Thanks to the general manager himself Mr Max. He was very nice and very calm. He arranged for everything and making sure that we had a wonderful time there, which we did. I did request some special arrangements as it was my wife's birthday. Although its a small birthday room decoration, its pleasing to see how the room was with a small birthday cake hidden. The penthouse room is awesome. Good view, clean, unique and peaceful. The cinnamon spa was comfortable with professional staffs. The reception counter staffs were very helpful and polite, greeting me no matter how many times i enter the reception counter. And lastly, the restaurant. Its quite small but it is very comfortable and chilling. Best place to chill at night for drinks and chats. We really enjoyed the stay and would love to stay there again. Wonderful hotel

Great views from the large lanais, and the rooms themselves. Staff is very friendly and always ready to help. The hotel has a fairly "intimate" setup, and might feel a bit crowded during high season. Management puts together events during the day and evening. Our standard room was large, with a big refrigerator, cooktop, oven, etc. Beds are huge and comfortable. Bathrooms are a bit small. Great rainfall shower, but bathroom floods a bit. A/C is weak, even on highest setting. Make sure to get an extra key to keep it running while you are away.

This is a great hotel!! It is clean, has a great staff, incredible views of the ocean, and has a great breakfast. I can't say enough good things about the staff. It is a bit removed from the tourist areas, but you can rent a scooter for 300 baht and be there in about 5 minutes. There is a 7 eleven at the bottom of the hill and is only a 2 minute or so ride from the hotel on a scooter. The hotel also rents bikes. There are a few pools on the property and all are close to the rooms. There is also a workout room. I highly recommend staying at this resort!!

Private hotel. Great view and services.

My girlfriend and I were on a short trip to celebrate our anniversary and I knew Code was the perfect place when I saw the pictures and found out how secluded it is. Georgina, the sales manager, was helpful and thoughtful during email exchanges when I was planning a surprise for my girlfriend. The Code team, coordinated by the manager Mack himself, helped me set up the room and get flowers when we were out for dinner. Everything was tasteful and lovely. The property itself is clean and modern. We took the top floor corner room and I'd recommend against it if you are not a fan of stairs. The view was just exquisite, especially at this price range. I thought the breakfast was good enough and while we didn't use the infinity pool, it does look a bit small but makes a great picture nonetheless. We enjoyed a 1-hr massage at the spa that came with the surprise package. My girlfriend felt it was the best she'd had during this trip and we went to like 4 massage parlors in total. As for the area, I do recommend getting a rental car or have transportation arranged beforehand because it may take 10-15 mins to get to the ring road on foot. There's a 7-11 store right at the junction so that's a plus. The seaside cafe opposite is one of the best on this side of the island as well. I must congratulate the friendly Code team for maintaining top-notch services. Highly recommended for couples. They will take care of you and let you have your privacy.

Code is a very modern resort, fabulous views which men's quite a few steep stairs, not good for guests with knee problems. Rooms say self catering but there are no cooking items not that I would want to cook anyway. Staff are always happy & friendly. My only minor complaint, the gym is set up in the apartment next to ours & you could hear the vibration of the treadmill thru the walls & the spa treatment room thru a door thru the restaurant.

Breathtaking views and amazing service

The Code was just what we were looking for! Beautlful views of the beach but a private and secluded little getaway out of the hustle and bustle. The rooms were spacious and clean and the balconys were a perfect touch. The infinity pool was to die for, but best of all was the service. The staff were so lovely and did everything for you. They were also amazing people with interesting stories who will now be friends for life. Take the time to get to know them, you will not regret it. Amazing price for the service received. Thank you Code!

Good hotel

Code was fantastic. I'll go again. I'll recommend you rent a car as it is an fare distance up the hill. It was a pity the bed sheets were dirty on our second evening after they've cleaned the room. But all in all...very good hotel. Loved the breakfast buffet too. And right opposite the main road from the hotel (at the foot of the hill) fantastic seafood for bargain price compared to other areas.

Beautiful hotel with some great touches

This was a great hotel overall. It's in a slightly out of the way location but with views to die for and a convenient shuttle down to the beach - which was long and quiet ( no motor sports noise so perfect for peace quiet and lots of little bars/eating places). The pool was a pleasure with the best view ever and though small it was well placed in the hotel.

Awesome condition

Excellent condition like rooms really clean & awesome view of ocean except there were a lot of ants crawling in a lot of spaces inside room & the only other downside is the breakfast. Breakfast is not fresh & no variety, everyday was the same type of food. Besides breakfast, the room and pool is really good & value for money! Definitely still recommend it to family and friends!

Nice hotel for a short relax

The hotel is great and the perfect place to spend 2 to 3 days after the long journey from the uk. It's very peaceful and in a very good condition but we were ready to move to our second hotel which was located on the beach and had a little more life. I would recommend code and the views from the pool r amazing.

Quiet stay at a chic hotel! Great staff

Code is an excellent hotel - we stayed for 5 nights for our honeymoon. It is located in a quieter part of Ko Samui i.e. Boput/Mae Nam beach. We checked in a couple hours before the start time and were allowed a late checkout by Max - the very resourceful hotel manager. The hotel itself is very clean and has a pool table/tennis court. We took a 1 bed room and our room had a nice kitchenette with all utensils, a couch, a TV and a spacious balcony with loveseat. The breakfast had a good selection and the hotel has something special for evenings almost every day. One day we were invited to a cocktail event with free thai massages. The swimming pool and sauna area is wonderful and its a great place to hang out. They let you use the pool after hours if you're being respectful. As some reviews say, the hotel is a little away from Chaweng Beach (the touristy area). For us it wasn't a problem at all - Chaweng is too touristy and Code is nearer to better beaches. The hotel is on an steep uphill and is ~20 mins of brisk walk from the main street outside. However, if you're in Ko Samui - a scooter is very recommended and almost needed. If you've a scooter, then you dont really worry about the climb. The hotel is a bit pricey for the scooter/taxi rates - atmost by 30% or so. You can find better deals on taxi/scooter at the main street. Everything else at Code was great. We loved staying there and hope you will too.

Relaxing and romantic

Our room was lovely with a sofa, kitchen and tv. We had a fantastic view, on the top floor of the hotel – but all the rooms had a lovely view. The restaurant was comfortable and the food was good, although the Thai dishes could have been a bit spicier. I think they had toned down the spices for Western visitors. The pool was lovely and quiet in the mornings, but was ruined in the afternoon when the Chinese groups tended to arrive back. The extended families shouted from one end of the pool, allowed their children to use the rescue floats and skyped loudly, ruining the ambience. This hotel would be perfect if it was for couples/adults only. The staff were great and they tried to teach us some Thai phrases which we tried on the locals. Everyone loved the fact that we tried, even if they did sometimes have a good laugh at our poor efforts. Max, the manager helped us out enormously when we found that our next hotel reservation had been cancelled without our knowledge. He contacted the next hotel and arranged for a room to be held for us until we could sort out the problem with the booking company. We would thoroughly recommend this hotel.

perfect for a quite getaway

The code hotel was excellent! It was a very pleasant stay, the hotel room was very modern with a nice view, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was included, and it was very nice, with a wide variety. In terms of location, there is a free shuttle to the closest beach, however it doesn't depart that often. It is also far from other popular beaches, so a taxi is needed, but can be expensive. Alternatively we caught those shared truck tuk-tuk type taxi's, which you can flag down on the main street, tell them where you want to go, and they tell you the price, it's much cheaper!! So if you don't mind being secluded, the hotel itself is very nice!

Must stay!

My husband and I have traveled the world and can be quite picky about our hotels, Code far exceeded our expectations. It's small enough that you don't feel lost in a sea of people but big enough to still have all the luxuries. The hotel Manger Max was amazing and went out of his way to make our stay memorable. The young British lady (may of been the owners daughter?) had some great advice on places to eat (much better than anything published in the guides). I'm recommending this place to all my Australian friends, 10/10!

Private hotel with great views.

Code was everything we thought it would be. Nice, new hotel with amazing views. The fitness center was adequate but the views were unsurpassed. Max, the manager, is perfectly suited for his job. He was present everywhere and went out of his way to be helpful. His dedication to his job was quite exceptional. He recommended a nearby restaurant, Relax, which we thoroughly enjoyed. Code is out of the way so don't expect much around the hotel. But if you want to get away from it all you will enjoy it here. I think four stars is the correct rating. The bathroom was small and the construction of the hotel wasn't of great quality. All the staff were helpful - especially Randall. They made you feel very welcome.

Positives 1. Good value for money 2. Great service & attentive staff esp Randel 3. Rooms are very clean Faults 1. Design flaw in bathroom with location of shelf in shower as kept banging into it 2. Bed too hard. Had to sleep on the couch for 3 x nights 3. Also our room did not have one of the new leather lounge suites which we noticed in most of the other rooms. The older suites definitely need replacing.

Me and my partner stayed here and absolutely fell in love with it. It was literally perfect for us and we don't have one complaint during our stay. The facilities were amazing and the views incredible. Could also sit in the infinity pool all day. The staff are the ones who really made our stay top class. Manager max was fantastic at managing his pleasant staff and giving suggestions of things to do on the island. Randel who had just joined and made our stay amazing and was always friendly and helpful. Will definitely be staying here again in the future and great value for the price

Very Special Accommodation

A great ten days at this special place. The management and staff are extremely helpful, the location up high overlooking the infinity pool out to sea is amazing, and the layout of the accommodation is fabulous. Try for a corner room. It is a steep site but very manageable. Breakfasts are very special and all food was great. The shuttle bus is available to take you down to town when you wish and each guest is supplied with a mobile phone to call the hotel and they will come back and pick you up. Such service!

This was one of the best hotels we have stayed in. The room was clean and very modern it had everything you need and the sea view was amazing. Breakfast was brilliant everything was to order which much better than a normal hotel buffet breakfast and there was plenty of choice. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We hired a moped from the hotel which was convenient and there were plenty of restaurants next to the beach. The shuttle also goes every two hours to the beach. PARADISE!!!

My boyfriend and I stayed for 4 nights in March for my birthday and had the most AMAZING stay! It is perfect. From the moment we walked in we felt like we were in Paradise. We stayed in room 407 on the top floor and had the most stunning views. Rooms are very new, modern, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Exactly like the pictures. Really nice to have a kitchen in the room and we loved the day bed on the balcony. The infinity pool is beautiful and we never had a problem getting seats by the pool which is often a problem at other hotels. Staff were so friendly and nothing was ever too much to ask. Max was awesome and always around to help with anything you could possibly need. We hired a motorbike from the hotel for 300 baht a day (about $12AUD) which i would recommend as Code is set off the road, it is a bit too far to walk to the beach etc but only a couple of minutes by motorbike. Fun and easy way to get around and see a bit of Koh Samui. The beach is stunning and so clean and there are plenty of restaurants and places to get massages which are only a couple of minutes away by motorbike. The food at the restaurant is beautiful! More pricey than restaurants on the road but definitely worth it as the quality is so much better. All in all we had the most amazing stay and wish we could've stayed longer! Would definitely recommend to any couples or honeymooners! We will be back!! :)

I would recommend asking the front desk on best spots to spot and rent a motorbike for the day. You can go around the whole island within a day. Highly enjoyed and they also have a lil lounge, restuarant, bar right of the water available all day! Was great to enjoy the sunset by the beach and drink a cocktail

Solid hotel, disappointing location

Can't really complain about the room/hotel itself. Staff was very friendly, rooms were immaculate, and we had an incredible view of the water. Unfortunately the location left a lot to be desired, as Code is pretty far from everything and meant we had to rent a motorbike/use the shuttle to get around. The shuttle service is quite pricy by Thailand standards -- it cost 400 baht to go Four Seasons Hotel, which was rather close (1-2 miles). Thankfully I've had experience on a motorbike, otherwise we would have racked up hundreds of dollars in transportation fees. Ultimately I think that's how Code is able to charge such lower prices than other hotels -- by charging high prices for its transportation services which most guests are forced to use. One more important note, the free breakfast was decent, albeit not spectacular: a small selection of breads/pastries, an egg/omelet station, fresh fruit/vegetables, and some breakfast meats. On the last night we stayed at Renaissance and their breakfast was sooooo much better than Code's. Everything was of higher quality: Sausage was larger, bacon was juicier, produce was fresher, etc. Could even have several different types of fresh squeezed juices delivered to your table, all free of charge. It just blew Code's arrangement out of the water.

Contemporary hotel with jungle feel

We (a couple) arrived at Code in the evening after some delays and the staff members - Faith in particular - were ready for us and made us feel very welcome. The staff and Manager were very helpful throughout our stay yet not overbearing. The hotel was very quiet during our stay however the hotel still ran its full services (full breakfast service, spa service etc) which I appreciated. The hotel is up a little hill into the jungle off the main island ring road, and the hotel will take you up or down whenever you want (they give you a phone to ring for pickup). We hired a car from the hotel which was very easy (although we couldn't quite work out the insurance coverage situation because the contract was vague). The hotel is very clean and tidy. I would recommend Code to anyone who doesn't want to be right in the middle of the party action - it was nice to be able to get away from the stress. The local beach down from the hotel was nice for swimming and secluded but still with several dining options. My favourite afternoon of the trip was sitting on that beach in the sun eating, drinking and swimming. We had a top floor room which was great for the views but a bit hard to walk up to if you left something in the room! There are no lifts - which is fine if you don't mind a bit of exercise and are able. The food at the hotel is more expensive than in island restaurants but still reasonable and yum. Overall Samui was a great island to visit with a mix of adventuring and relaxing.

If you want to relax in a modern and fashion style structure this is the place for you!! Very clean, good breakfast, great pool with a cutting breath view. Lovely stay at Code

Really enjoyed our stay at code - beautiful hotel, staff and Pool! If there was one slight improvement they could make is to possibly put the breakfast inside the enclosed dining area as having ants crawl all over your food wasn't really appealing - this is a really simple fix and people can then choose to sit outside or eat in the enclosed restaurant. Overall breakfast was a little boring compared to hotels - maybe I have just been spoilt with other hotels and this is quite normal but if felt more like something you would get at a B&B not a hotel. I have to stress though they are really small points and did not detract from the enjoyment of our holiday. Also, the bed was really really hard in Room 405 - but that a personal preference and totally understand that they need to make them all the same. There are no lifts in this hotel so if you have problems with knees or walking then this is not the hotel for you. This is not a hotel for people with children - they would get bored very quickly.
