This is my second stay at Cocoon and it was wonderful! The room is comfortable and clean. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. I had pinsa and drinks at the bar one evening and it was delicious. Short walk to the center of Munich. I highly recommend this hotel!

Interesting hotel & good location

Unique and interesting hotel, and good location

My wife and I had a wonderful stay at the hotel. Our room was great and very reasonably priced. We enjoyed having evening drinks by the fireplace. Transportation was easily accessible from the hotel. City Center was just a short 10–15 minute walk away. We will definitely make Cocoon a top choice for our next vacation in Munich.

Great place in great location. Funky boutique hotel

Very friendly staff. Kitchen noise and stairwell noise disrupted sleep. Breakfast buffet was extensive and the food was good. On a busy street with difficult parking and the neighborhood is not exactly beautiful.

Cocoon Sedlinger Tor was amazing. The location was perfect for Oktoberfest and the surrounding area in Munich. The staff was absolutely amazing as well and made my stay even better. Thank you to everyone at Cocoon!

Staff was nice and very helpful. The hotel was very clean, and exactly like it was shown online. We got lucky they have a Pinsa bar and Bar in the lobby that happened to be a hot spot during our stay!! No complaints other than the AC could have been stronger.

Newly remodeled, great staff with an amazing breakfast! Room was quiet, comfy and well located. Close to transits, train, bus, underground as well as many eateries. Number one pick for Oktoberfest since it’s a five minute walk to Theresienwiese. Absolutely recommended!

The property was under renovation - and during a busy time of the year - Oktoberfest. So there were already enough noisy distractions and then this added more. Staff was SUPER friendly and above and beyond helpful. Restaurant serves a beautiful buffet breakfast and has food and drinks til 12-1a! Great easy location too. Perfect!

The hotel was 2 hours late with our room check in. We got a complimentary drink while we waited. The hotel room and terrace were nice. Terrace closed at 10 every night. We asked for a later check out and they would only give us one extra hour. Considering we waited two hours to get into our room I was disappointed we could not get a later check out. Average stay. Walkable and safe area. Many restaurants and transit options close by.

Nice hotel in easy walking distance to centre

Nice hotel in easy walking distance to the city centre. We got a room upgrade due to building works going on to add a roof terrace which we only experienced a little noise on one morning. The bar area is great with a lovely wild flower terrace at the back where we relaxed after busy days. Fully recommend and would definitely rebook.

Great place to stay in Miuic 20 mins walk to Marienpñatz which is the main plaza in Múnich. Tons of bars, restaurants and cafes to choose from. 18mins walk to the central train station and 10mins walk to the nearest metro. Rooms are clean, spacious for European standards and modern chic!

Very clean and modern. Room a bit small for 2 people with luggage. Bathroom arrangement not ideal for 2 people.

Great hotel very cool vibe and fab location

Actually a very nice property within walking distance to all the sights of Munich. Staff and property were great. Would definitely come again. We opted out of the breakfast option but it looked good with lots of variety. They made fantastic coffee and in the evening their Pinsa (variation of pizza) was delicious after an evening out.

Cute property in an excellent location! Great breakfast and outdoor area for afternoon drinks. I stayed in a room on the groundfloor and my bathroom however was a bit suboptimal- there was no barrier between the shower and the rest of the bathroom, so when I had a shower, the whole bathroom became wet and it was impossible for it to dry out during during the day. I had to have lots of towels everywhere and it just felt constantly damp. That would be my only negative to this otherwise wonderful place!

Hotel was clean, comfortable and walking distance to all major attractions in Munich. Staff were friendly and rooms were clean. Would stay here again.... Just not with a garden room... Our only issue with the property was that I upgraded to the garden room (accessible) on the ground level. While we were there we couldn't keep the door open because there was always people smoking outside and would blow into the room. There were also small pieces of glass in this outside space but we rarely used due to the smoking. I would book a different room unless you don't mind cigarette smoke.

Building is under construction but our room was great and the staff is great!

Although there is scaffolding ourside the front entrance i didn’t hear any noise from any building works. I don't know if this depends on where your room is or not but certainly didn’t impact us. Hotel is within walking distance of Marienplatz (around 15 to 20 mins) and we also walked from the main station to the hotel. Hotel was clean. If you wanted to have room cleaned then you had to request this at reception. This was not a problem for us as we were only there for a few days. Breakfast was good and there was a good selection of hot and cold food available. If youre a tea drinker then only loose leaf tea is available - you have to put it in one of the bags provided and add your add water. We used the bar in the evening and it was pleasant to sit in there and the beer was if anything slightly cheaper than the bars and restaurants in the city. Staff were friendly also. Only a couple of minor points to note - if you want to store your luggage at the hotel (e.g. if checking in early) then you have to pay 4 euros for the use of a locker, there are no drink making facilities in the rooms. Other than that i would recommend this hotel as somewhere to stay in Munich

We really liked how easy it was to get around from the hote. The staff was great and was able to answer our questions and provide recommendations. We did have to change rooms twice because of how hot it was in the rooms even though the temperature was turned right down to 18. After trying a few rooms the receptionist was able to find us a room that had a working cooling system. We really appreciated her help with that unfortunately i dont remember her name but she was working on the evening of May 5.

The hotel itself was unbelievable considering the price. It was clean and cozy. The lobby is inviting. The breakfasts are great and well worth the cost. However, construction is being done on the sixth floor and it was so loud, we had to shout to speak to one another while this was going on. We were not warned that this would be happening. When we approached the front desk about potentially changing rooms they acted like we were greatly inconveniencing them. They insisted that the construction workers are outside of the realm of their control. Be this as it may, they are still doing construction on YOUR hotel. We were told construction happened between 9 and 5 (9:00-17:00). This turned out not to be true as we were woken up as early as 7 to the sound of power tools one morning. Again this would’ve been fine if the person who we (very kindly) approached about this hadn’t had such an attitude with us. I should say, the other one was very kind and professional. If he had any disdain for us, he hid it well. Which is all I ask. I just wonder, if that’s how you handle someone kindly leveling a very reasonable complaint, how do you handle a customer who is even vaguely rude. Over all, great hotel. Just fire that lady. Also, when we checked in, we were held hostage while another employee described every aspect of the hotel for 20 minutes. It was fine she was sweet but no one wants to sit there while you tell them how “cool” everything is after traveling.

Comfortable stay

We enjoyed staying at this hotel! It’s not luxurious, but it is in a great location and the room was comfortable. We didn’t have any issues and would stay again!!

Great hotel to be stranded in!

Due to the bad weather, I stayed 3 days longer than expected and the hotel were able to accommodate me and ensure that I only had to make minimal room changes. At all times the staff were incredibly helpful during what was a very busy and stressful time. The location is great - just 3 minutes walk to Goetheplatz U station, but also an easy walk into town if you prefer. There are restaurants within easy reach, but the bar/restaurant at the hotel was a very pleasant place to spend an evening. My only complaint is that the reception area got very cold with the doors in constant use. For a business trip the only shortcomings were a lack of phone in the room (which wasn't a huge issue for me) and a desk. But then, I didn't book it with the intention of working in my room! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone wanting to visit Munich and I would definitely stay again. It became a home from home while we waited for our re-scheduled flights home!

The receptionist Monika was super helpful and was able to help out with any questions that I had. Always welcomes customers with a friendly smile. My only 2 isses were there was no mini fridge to keep anything cold and that the hotel was in winter mode so i was only able to cool the room by opening windows even during rain.

Overall our stay here was a good experience. The hotel is attractive and the staff are nice. Breakfast is kind of expensive, but it is a good variety. Major downside is they don’t clean your room. You have to ask the front desk for fresh towels.

We love staying here and re-booked for a second stay. This time we had trouble with receiving Wi-Fi in our room. The IT person said that the router needed to be restarted, but it still didn’t work in our room during our stay. Everything else was great!

Awesome place to stay!

We had a great stay at the hotel. Check-in was fine too, but a little annoying that one has to pay for lockers, 30 minutes before the rooms were ready. Especially when the lockers were hard to close, and I spent 6 euros extra when the doors didnt work. I asked for a return at the reception but they couldnt do anything about it. Also: Coffee should be free.

Highly recommended stay for your munich visit. Room is spacious and comfortable. Love their 24hr bar, so you could just chit chat with friends safely and enjoy your beer at a comfort environment. They have also some cozy lounge where you can sit back and relax if you want. Stay is 1 station away from Munich HBF, you need to walk to the closest U Bahn (about 5min i would say) take either U1 or U2 bahn.

All around nice hotel, very close to centre. Feels like newly refurbished.

This hotel is beautifully decorated throughout. The rooms are full of attention to detail with great features like motion-activated floor lighting. The bar/breakfast area has a great style. I can't say enough about the breakast buffet. Delicious fresh food and coffee at a reasonable price. Spent a couple of our evenings at the bar as well. Drinks are great and every employee we worked with was very accommodating and friendly. I would stay here again and again.

Every peacful area during the day at night it is a little scary at first but once you get close to the marineplatz it is very nice and calming i would highly recommend staying here if you ever visit munchen

Hotel overbooked, no room for us!!

We arrived and were told the hotel had been overbooked and we had to stay somewhere else Not very good planning on the part of the hotel and wasn't a nice surprise upon arrival.

Great Stay in Munich

The hotel was very clean, very nice and very comfortable. The service was outstanding.I would certainly recommend it to anyone!

Perfect size for a solo traveller. Interesting use of space for the bathroom. Location was ok. A little further from train stations than I originally thought.

Very centrally located. Can be accessed by two subway (metro/underground) stations. Goetheplatz & Sendlinger Tor. Walking distance to Cafes, Bars and shops. Even a laundromat is easily reached from here. A 20-25 walk hets you to the Centre Saqure of Munich. The staff are very friendly and welcoming.

Perfectly appointed, cleverly furnished and a great area. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating and it gave us the perfect base to explore Munich. Lots of great tourist and neighbourhood sites within an easy stroll. Would definitely come again.

We liked the location of this property as it was easy walking to main centre and easy access to all public transport. The staff were absolutely delightful, friendly and helpful. They were apologetic of the building renovations but we actually didn’t notice any noise. I was travelling with my sister and she wasn’t so thrilled that the shower wasn’t in a completely separate room but just frosted glass and visible in the bedroom. A large sliding door closes in front of the shower / toilet.

Good Value Hotel That Will Soon Be Bigger

This will be a brilliant hotel when its finished. No disruption in the evening or the morning, just construction noise during the day when it doesn't matter to most. Great welcome from staff and a pretty good breakfast and decent wifi. Overall good value.

Great location to all the Christmas Markets. Room was tiny but adequate. We took them up on thier offer which was no room cleaning for our 3 nights and recieve 2 x $5 off a drink at the bar. Unfortunetly, they didn't honour the offer and we had no room service. When I discussed it with the hotel they said to bad, no token no $10.00 off our drinks, which I had already ordered. Very bad customer service and will never recommend Cocoon to anybody.

This was a very small dumpy room,I would not go back. They had a nice variety of food for breakfast. I was charged 7 euros for a liter of water.

Great location to attend Oktoberfest. Guy at the front desk wasn’t overly friendly, but he did hold our bags until check in. Cool design and decor but definitely a no thrills room. One sliding door for bathroom area either covered toilet portion or shower portion, which required some coordination when two people were trying to get ready at the same time. Neighborhood nice enough, but not many options for dining within walking distance. Close to hospital, so be prepared for sirens.

Nice hotel but the air conditioning was unable to keep the room cool

Front desk staff (male) wasn’t helpful at all and their attitude was appalling. Didn’t have any knowledge about night life etc. For any question, they ask you to google.

Modern comfortable hotel with friendly staff

The rooms are small but with the unusual design of the room (especially the toilet, wash basin and shower area) I found the room comfortable and adequate. The lounging area in front of the window was a nice touch to this hip room. All staff members were very friendly and helpful, especially the reception staff. Full marks to them for making my stay so enjoyable.

The Hotel that I will never forget!

My most unique experience, running not very positive. I am a medical Doctor and used to travel much, visit various seminars all around the world and care different patients from different countries. For first time of my life, I faced bed bugs and that was on my bed sheets at this Hotel. The first week of my stay turned to be real nightmare! Even at the University Klinikum of Munich, no one of my colleagues had experience with bed bugs in their books. I suffered one week within drastic itching and horrible skin lesins and I was at emergency medical care. The worst part was behavior of one the stuff at hotel. When I showed her the bed bugs that I found at my sheets, she started searching the signs and symptoms of bed bugs bites in internet! And she was teaching me (a medical doctor) some medical lessons thru searching in internet! Ridiculous! The only positive notes to be addressed were two headcount of this place Mr. Pascal & Mrs. Sophia whom helped me and their behavior was really professional. The only reason that I didn’t file a claim at court. However this claim keep open due to hardship and financial loss happened to me and more above hurting my health conditions as this hotel.

Pleasant hotel in the City Centre

I enjoyed my stay at Cocoon Sendlinger Tor. The single room is surprisingly spacious with a nice seating nook at the window. The shower was large for a room that size, which is great. For gay travelers, it's close to almost all the bars (10 min walk) and nightlife. The staff was helpful and friendly. Didn't try the breakfast,

Nice Hotel in Downton Munich

If you want to explore Munich, this is an excellent place to stay. It is near the subway and most Munich Landmarks. The breakfast was excellent for 10 euro. The room was great for the price that you are paying. If you are travelling with friends, ask for separate shower place. We were travelling as a family, but still, we were not comfortable taking a shower, since it was made with a glace and hand not have a wall.

3 Star Choice

The hotel was fairly good value but the open concept bathroom was a bit difficult to adjust to. If they would make the decal in the shower even a few inches wider, it would provide a bit more privacy. Also, the rooms weren't cleaned during the day (ie. garbage taken out, towels refreshed) which was a bit inconvenient. It is in a good location and the staff is very kind.

Good but room set up is poor!

Good hotel overall, but a couple of things bothered us: 1) no real work space. So if you need to sit at a desk, forget it. There's just a little uncomfortable nook. And 2) the sliding door closes both the shower and the toilet but only one at a time! So if one person is in the toilet, the other can't close the shower door. Or when you open the shower door while the other is washing their face in the sink, you literally end up with someone getting hurt. We liked the location though, very convenient to the metro. And the shower had great water pressure!

No safe in room....No tea/coffee facilities in room....two towels per room...One single size duvet far to small to cover the queen size bed..Ugly carpet/felt like curtains in room.Much better and cheaper hotels in this area closer to old town...would not recommend this hotel..Poor wc and wash basin...

Great location

Great location of the hotel near everything. Little bit deserted at night if you walk back from the metro. Breakfast is a great option and lasts until 11 am. Best advice is to not stay on the 1st floor because you will hear all the noise in the night In lobby floor. Overall a solid option. Maybe a little overpriced but I will book again.

Three day stay in Munich. Lovely room, friendly staff, comfortable lobby for having drinks with friends. I'd definitely recommend it and I'd stay there again.

Great views... of your friends.

Stayed in a room for 3 with a male and female friend. The room was small for 3 people but clean and we were getting what we paid for. The issue was that the shower was all glass and open to the rest of the room. If someone wanted to shower you could either sleep, leave the room, or see your friend naked.

perfect location!

In the middle between 2 U-bahn stops, with many walkable restaurants and bakeries on the way. Room was very clean and quite large for Europe hotels. Many other people complained about the shower/toilet/sink set up - we thought it was brilliant and worked just fine. The only things missing were a safe and a mini-fridge. Would definitely stay here again!

Friendly staff, close to oktoberfest

We took the overnight train to munich, got in way before check in and were both exhausted! Luckily this place had a room open and ready and they let us check in 6 hours early at no extra cost!!! Friendly and helpful staff and a short walk to oktoberfest. And a really great price considering oktoberfest timing!
