Clean and decent. Mahmoud was super helpful.
I had a lovely stay and was treated like a princess by Mahmoud every time my meals were served, meals so large it was impossible to eat it all Massive room and great air conditioning and a 10 minute walk to the ferry to the main tourist historic sites . My luggage was damaged and a repair service was used to get me back to Cairo and onwards back to Dunfermline, Scotland
4 Day Luxor Stay
The drive to the hotel took us down a side street as opposed to a main road giving a very bad first impression but on arriving at the hotel we were pleasantly surprised. The reception was airy and authentically Egyptian. Nasser welcomed us and arranged for us to get together on the terrace the next morning so we could go to our room as it was quite late. He also swapped our room for a larger nicer one after the first night. The next morning he gave us plenty of his time to discuss the area, the tours and trips available and make us feel welcome. The free breakfast can be Egyptian (falafel, beans-foul, bread, small salad, juice and tea/coffee) or continental (eggs, small salad, bread, juice and tea/coffee) and sets you up well for the day. You take breakfast on the top terrace which has an awesome view of Hatshepsut’s temple and also the balloons starting there trips over the valley of the kings. All of the staff are extremely helpful and very nice to go with it. Any problems or questions we had were dealt with swiftly and until we were satisfied. The rooms are a bit old and maybe not as clean as your house but you’re paying less than £20 a night and getting a free breakfast. That said, we slept very well, the air conditioning was new and very good, the water heater was new and the bed was comfortable. If you need a taxi to/from Luxor airport, contact them as we had one for £500eg which is very reasonable. He also arranged a guided tour for a really good price.
Best little gem!
The hotel staff were exceptionally helpful, accommodating and made our time in Luxor so much better. They helped us arrange transportation, find our way around and allowed us a late checkout when our plans changed. The location is lovely, away from the busy east bank, close to restaurants and the ferry.
helpful staff
The Cleopatra is a basic hotel. Located on the west bank where there is limited transportation. With that negativity. The staff made us feel welcome. Mahmoud is just incredible. He went above and beyond the call of duty to make our stay wonderful. Very great AC and WiFi service. Egyptian breakfast everyday. A 5 minute walk to the Nile. Where restaurants are located and you can hop on a feculla to take you to the east bank.
great hospitality
the staff was very helpful (mahmoud ) and others , they always willing to help and advice, when we are back home he draw us a map for the rod and a guy drive us with motorcycle IN front of our car to show us the way ,
Very wonderful budget hotel
We stayed 6 nights in a row, with wonderful breakfast and dinner. Thank you for the wonderful service. We had a wonderful stay here.
Very nice budget on West Bank. Great breakfast
This is the best budget hotel on the West Bank of Luxor, very close to the Valley of the Kings. Easy parking right beside the hotel, a bit dusty but this is Egypt. The host Marmun is very helpful, and a wonderful cook. We booked breakfast and dinner, they were all very tasty, especially the stewed beef. Fresh mango juice every morning is super. We stayed 6 nights in total, had a wonderful time in West Bank. WiFi is a problem, on and off, but this is typical in Egypt so I don't complain. There is horse riding stable right next door, we rode 5 days in a row. We stayed in Pavillon Winter Luxor, a 5 star hotel on the East Bank for 4 days, but we still like Cleopatra Hotel Luxor. Thanks
Very pleasant
Great friendly people. Nice view from the roof top
Lovely for such a cheap place!
Beautiful rooftop - breakfast at sunrise is incredible. Nice rooms. Super cheap. What’s not to love?
A real gem
A fantastic place - wonderful sunrise views from the rooftop restraints: sunrise to the east and the hot air balloons taking off over the mountains to the west. Nice Egyptian breakfast included.
Beautiful decor & friendly staff
Manager was a nice guy, offered us a welcome drink, and the staff Mahmot was funny and friendly, served us delicious breakfast and arranged us shared tour to visit Valley of the kings and Hatshepsut temple and Madinet temple.
Loved it! Absolutely
Staff were exceptionally helpful when I needed to change plans at the last minute - Mohammed went above and beyond to assist.
Nothing from the expedia listing was acurate atthis hotel. No tv in rooms, no restaurant (only a "home kitchen" set up) no pool, no waterslide. Prices were exorbatant even after haggling quite a bit. The driver even begged for more money. The wifi only worked half of the time and was very slow. Couldnt open google maps it was so slow. The only thing good here was the food they made. No breakfast was served even after being told it would be ready any time i went to the roof in the morning. The manager Nasser means well, but he is first and foremost after your money.
have a good view at restaurant area but tables and chairs and food i did not like better without food and also no TV at the room air condition only cold wash basin very small make you wet
Nasser, owner of Cleopart, showed his hospitality and assisted us to get tour in Hot Air Balloon and the river cruise. He treats and welcomes guess as family. Friendliness of the owner and his staff. He will renovate his hotel by next year and promise to have a better staff, does speak English at all.
This hotel is exactly what I wanted when going to Egypt. It has an authentic feel, with modern amenities. Each room has air conditioning and private baths. The owner, Nasser, and his family, went out of their way to make sure our needs were met. I would definitely stay here again if I ever visit Luxor in the future.
We plan to stay here if we are fortunate enough to visit Luxor again. Nasser, Mahmoud, and Walid made our visit extremely special. Nasser warmly welcomed us and secured an excellent deal for an unforgettable hot air balloon tour over Luxor monuments. When we had some practical errands to do, they either escorted us themselves or connected us with someone to help us take care of our needs. The rooftop view (and refreshments) made for pleasant mornings and relaxing afternoons. Proximity to the ferry (5LE per person!) was very convenient. Above all, Breakfast and conversation with Mahmoud made our stay at Cleopatra a highlight of our whole vacation. It really felt like home. Thank you to all the staff, and we highly recommend this to other travelers as a great value.
Staff were really welcoming, breakfast was amazing, beds were really comfortable with spacious rooms. The design of the hotel is really authentic. There are no lifts though so it can be tiring for some.
The property roof top was great. Staff was friendly.
Ok
This hotel is on Elephantine Island and in a quiet area. However it doesn't have the view of the Nile River. The staff is very helpful. Currently it has only 3 rooms, however the owner is expanding its hotel by adding 6 additional rooms upstairs.
Beautiful
A beautiful family run guesthouse on the peaceful West Bank. We were made very welcome here and loved our stay. The roof terrace is stunning and the food was fantastic. We will return again
Amazing budget hotel
We stayed at several budget hotels in Cairo and Aswan, but found Cleopatra to be the best one we’ve stayed! The rooms were relatively clean, well maintained, hot shower and super helpful owner who helped us book a hot air balloon ride last minute (it was fantastic). Not to mention, the breakfast the hotel has is super good! He even let us shower in his room before we took off! Will definitely stay here again.
Amazing owner run boutique hotel and restaurant
From the moment the taxi stopped out front until we drove away the next day the Cleopatra was amazing. Juice and coffee to start, tours offered -but no pressure- and real attention to what we wanted. We ate in the roof top restaurant and were surprised at the quality of the food and the ambience. I’ve already recommended the Cleopatra to friends who hope to visit Luxor next year.
Nice stay
I had a nice stay. The staff where very welcoming and friendly. The room was larger than some others in Luxor, and the veiw on the roof was nice. I went on a day tour and that was the highlight of my stay.
short stay but enjoyable
super cozy and clean room, nice hotel owner, help us with literally everything, breakfast and dinner are tasty as well. highly recommand.
Great value!
For the price, excellent! Clean, super accommodating host, amazing typical breakfast! Had problems with the wifi the first day but the owner fixed it next chance he got. Air conditioning has to work super hard and cool enough. Great value and would stay here again!
Home away from home close to everything
Clean and beautiful hotel. My son and I stayed at Cleopatra and are planning to come back for a longer stay. Very close to everything. Very hospitable and knowlegable staff ready to help with any need from transportation, tour planning to finding best food in town. Owner is a kind man who goes out of his way to make guests comfortable.
The helping heart.
Being in Luxor as tourist is so annoying as everyone tends to help but with the agenda of taking money for every petty reason they find. Having a bad experience with my group tour the previous day, the hotel owner stepped in to help and told ways to cut on your extra expense efficiently; my only regret was doing the Banna island ride which was not very interesting other than that my stay was good had a great roof top view while enjoying the yummy shashuka & will return to stay to do the hot air balloon, which unfortunately I couldn't do this visit due to the bad weather.
Very helpful staff, friendly & accommodating. Organised tours which we thoroughly enjoyed we had a great time with our tour guide.
A bargain
For the price a wonderful place - well kept, attentive staff, clean, excellent views of west bank hills from the rooftop at night, food fine. Id recommend.
Happy contentment.
The hotel lived up to and beyond our expectations. The setting is ideal, being quiet and close to the rural environment but also a short stroll from the shops, restaurants and the easy and speedy ferry to Luxor town itself (only 5EP return). The owner Nasser was extremely accommodating and genuinely friendly and welcoming without being pushy in the least about services he is able to provide. The room balcony and the rooftop terrace were particularly enjoyed by us. I'd also highly recommend the food - breakfast is way better than most we experienced and the evening meals very fresh and tasty at a significantly lower cost than many of the alternative restaurants we tried. I'll certainly stay here again on our next visit.
Nice Hotel
This is a nice hotel close to archeological sites on the west bank. The only inconvenience is the pressure you could experience from the owner. He is a nice person but it is always pushing for you to get one is multiple tours. It gets to a point you feel bad and end up doing what he wants. We got tired of all his multiple attempts to book you in one of those.
Budget location
Budget option, very friendly staff and owner. Location is ideal if you want to be able to access temples etc. but avoid the street hassle. Bathroom was pretty basic, leaky and not very clean but room, roof terrace, food and staff all great.
Don't visit it
It's not clean and terrible
Wonderful
Unfortunately, I was only at the hotel for one night. I wish I could have stayed longer! I ordered the airport pickup and was sent a car with no seatbelts. Which is the only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars. The hotel itself and the staff were wonderful. The rooms are so nicely decorated and have a comfortable bed. The air conditioner worked wonderfully and there was plenty of hot water. The breakfast was delicious and you have the added benefit of sitting on the rooftop terrace to eat. The declarations on the terrace were just as nice as the inside of the hotel. I would definitely stay here again and hope I can one day.
I loved my stay here.
If you are an experienced independent traveler, the warmth of the owner and staff, the great food in the rooftop restaurant, and its view of the Valley of the Kings will delight you. I couldn't believe it was this inexpensive. Much more local flavor than the other bank, and just a quick water taxi away from all the hustle and bustle
A little gem
The Cleopatra Hotel is tucked quietly away on the West Bank a short walking distance from the ferry. The restaurant on the roof top over looks the Valley of the Queens and the Valley of the King's. Rooms are large with private bathroom and air conditioning. Strike a deal with Nasser the owner for affordable tours. The price is great and staff are friendly and helpful. The hotel is away from the hustle and bustle of the East Bank. Ferries run regularly and a round trip cost's 2 Egyptian pounds. All major sites are easily accessible. Great price, great location. Highly recommended.
Best place In Luxor!
I can't begin to describe how amazing Nasser and his staff made our stay in Luxor! All our tours and drivers were all taken care for us. The food at the rooftop restaurant was some of the best I had in Egypt! Nasser invited us to the community celebration and then to dinner (an incredible feast!) st his home, which goes down as one of the best experiences of my life! We were treated like family, like actually tho, never felt more welcome, I recommend a stay here to everyone!
The best place to stay on the West Bank of Luxor
I had a great time here. I switched over from a very dirty hotel on the East Bank. Cleopatra hotel is clean, the design is tasteful, it's super quiet and night and very comfortable. The owner Nasser is a dream. He's a very nice gentleman who arranged a car to drive myself and my dad to the ferry to cross the river. I would definitely stay here again!
Lovely place with very attentive owner
Don't be put off by Hotel Cleopatra's budget rates. This is a very clean, comfortable and quiet place with great views, fabulous breakfasts, attentive staff and generally good attention to detail. The gentleman who defines the place is the charming and omnipresent owner, Nasser, who went to pains to ensure we were properly looked after. He will take care of every element of your stay, if you let him; he is persuasive. That said, we were happy enough with all the tours he organised, from Abu Simbel to the Valleys to hot air ballooning, except for a glitch with the Aswan hotel. Tip 1: you need to visit the East Bank for an ATM that takes international cards. Tip 2: just forget Banana Island. Tip 3: give yourself time to lounge on the lovely roof terrace!
Helpful Staff
I felt safe at the hotel. The staff was very helpful, attentive and accommodating! I would definitely recommend this hotel.
Great hotel
This is a great little hotel, just what I needed, considering I was only going to be in the room for a few hours to sleep. It's very clean, good staff and has a nice terrace. Located in a quiet neighbourhood away from the craziness of the rest of Luxor.
Excellent mid-range hotel, clean & professional!
This was an incredible hotel, I spent 7 days at this hotel and highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Luxor. PROS: - Clean hotel, no bugs, no dirt, no hassle - Clean washrooms and newly painted rooms - Hot water available all the time - Breakfast was included, continental or Egyptian breakfast, both were delicious and topped with freshly squeezed juice - Hotel owner and management were very professional and courteous - Hotel is only 5 minute walk to the Nile and a short ferry ride to the East bank of the Luxor - Hotel rooftop restaurant has a clear menu available, a great view of sunrise and a beautiful backdrop of the Valley of Queens I strongly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Luxor on a budget trip, this hotel will exceed your expectations.
Great option for visitors to Luxor, Egypt
Great option for visiting Luxor, Egypt. I was especially pleased with the hotel staff and the owner - they did their best to meet or exceed our requests. I chose to stay here with my family (total 4 guests) instead of a nearby Sheraton / Hilton - I usually stay with those on business travel. I am glad I stayed at Cleopatra - we enjoyed home cooked breakfast every morning and a few dinners.
Excellent value on the West Bank
I highly recommend Cleopatra Hotel if you are seeking value and quality on the quiet West Bank. Friendly and professional staff make for an excellent experience. Rooms are modern, comfortable and clean, and the food is excellent as well.

Good inexpensive hotel
Basic hotel but excellent customer service. Showerhead broken but fixed immediately. Lovely view from rooftop where you have breakfast. Will arrange takeout if you want dinner so you can enjoy view at night too. Mamood and Waleed very helpful. West side much quieter than East. This hotel is on westside, could do with a paint here and there. No elevator
