To be honest. We stay in a hotel, just for the bed. As we are pretty much out from 10am to 10pm exploring the city & lucky we do. The compact room, is compact & should only be sold as single occupancy. Its not big enough for 2 people, plus luaggage. When we were in the room we had to manoeuvre our luaggage to move around the room, from the lack of floor space. The room was nice, bed comfy, shower good, just a really really small "compact" room.

Hotel amazing / Restaurant not....

Hotel was amazing, staff were amaxing, however the restaurant staff yesterday evening were not good. They took 50 minutes to bring our food, looked angry to be working and the burnette waitress rolled her eyes at my friend when she asked for fries. So 0* for the restaurant (the social), but 5* for hotel...

Great hotel, comfortable bedding and delicious breakfast

Good hotel, rooms can be quite small

The small double rooms are very small. The hanging space is also small. Bear this in mind if travelling as a couple. Breakfast was excellent

Pro and contra

Downside: The room and corridors are dated and worn. Our "superior room" (501) featured a toilet seat that did not fit the toilet and a severely cracked sink. Upside: Definitely the best breakfast buffet I have ever seen in a hotel and all of the staff were wonderful to deal with

It was an excellent stay at Clarion Hotel Amaranten. It is very convenient located near Central station with plenty of dinning and shopping areas nearby. Quiet yet convenient place. Staff were friendly especially the restaurant staff. Room was cleaned everyday without fail and neatly done. Great stay

Breakfast is superb. I had a small double room. It was fine for a solo traveller but would caution about 2 people staying. Bed was comfy, shower hot. Room was clean

I had a wonderful stay at the Clarion Hotel Amaranten in Stockholm. The location is fantastic, offering easy access to public transport and nearby attractions. The staff were incredibly welcoming and professional, making check-in smooth and efficient. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, with modern amenities. The breakfast buffet was varied and delicious, perfect to start the day. Overall, a great experience, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Stockholm!

It was cosy and perfect for my trip

Ok stay

Ok experience. Good - Hotel was in a good location in a quiet area and next to a metro station. Breakfast plenty on offer and good quality. We ate in the hotel restaurant one evening and the food was delicious. Rooms were clean. Bad - checked in early but one bed was not made up and had to report twice to reception to get it sorted. Bathroom - badly cracked sink and floor badly flooded due to the gap between the shower screen and the bath, my son’s clothes were soaked. Had to move room where the issue still existed but we were able to work round it. Communal areas weren’t spotless. Disappointing that the sauna was out of order for the length of our stay. Only one waitress in the restaurant in the evening who was rushed off her feet and service was slow.

Very nice place, clean, breakfast excellent, nice area, the only thing is that room was very small, no place to put our luggage.

We loved our stay - it was very convenient location, nice rooms and the staff was extremely polite and helpful. The restaurant was awesome - way exceeded our expectations for breakfast. We hope to stay here again in our future travels.

We booked a room for 3 adults. We believed that there would be 1 double bed and 1 sofabed, however the sofabed was not a proper sofabed, the mattress was not secure and it was very narrow and uncomfortable. We complained and they said we could have a bigger room for the last two nights but they wanted to charge us the difference in price.The room was not cleaned well and the breakfast was very nice, there was a big selection, but there was no cappuccino or hot chocolate. The location was very good, but if there was a next time, we would pick a different hotel.

Usual large chain hotel. Fantastic breakfast each day and although very busy, we never felt rushed. Great looking gym with a sauna. Room was a little tight for floor space and we had booked the biggest one and was a little tired. Mark's and scrapes on the wall and TV screen, and a grimey looking mat that was mostly under the bed. Otherwise the room and bathroom was clean. Walked everywhere to visit the tourist hotspots. Beautiful city.

Highly recommended for quality and location

We stayed for three nights while exploring Stockholm. The location is excellent, tenminutes or so from Central Station, right next door to the metro and a few blocks from the waterfront. Our room was on the 7th floor, was very spacious and had floor to ceiling windows with a great view of the street below and the surrounding buildings. The service was friendly and efficient and the included breakfast, while a bit average for the price and status of the hotel, was quite ok. The bar was a friendly and inviting spot for a drink in the evening. Overall we would recommend highly.

Good stay. Very busy hotel but all good. Wifi speed was a bit slow. Breakfast good. Great location.

Parking is not convenient

This was my second stay at this hotel. Staff are always helpful, and my son loved the breakfast options here.

It is a cool building, I wish we could have had a room in the older part of the building, but the new portion is nice and clean and had everything we needed.

This hotel is aging poorly. The hallways and rooms are in need of an update. There is no air circulation in the rooms so it was very stuffy. The lobby and bar are nice however and the included breakfast was good. The rooms are much smaller than they appear in the photos so we were crammed in there pretty tight. Annoyingly, our room keys stopped working on a daily basis and we had to keep getting g new ones.

Excellent staff, especially at Front Desk

The room was very tight but it was already mentioned. Breakfast was great. The only complain and the most important thing, the bed was very uncomfortable.

Clean and comfortable. Great breakfast. Slightly further to walk into town than some other hotels but price probably reflects that.

Clean and neat, but lacked AC

The elevators were slow and in sufficient with a full hotel. The room was clean and neat but hot. It is mid July and the thermost could not be lowered to a reasonably cool temperature. It was too warm and made sleeping uncomfortable. Breakfast was very good. A very limited dinner menu, but food was good.

The hotel staff was kind and friendly. They helped us with information regarding the subway. The subway is right there next to the hotel and the food near the hotel was also good. Area was quiet and clean. Also, out of all the hotels we’ve been to, the shampoo and conditioner was the best. Natural and it didn’t dry out my hair. Really wish I could have purchased some before leaving. Would love to go again. Also, the room was really spacious and clean. The AC here did work and had no issues. :)

- great location for the tube - quiet area with restaurants and supermarkets nearby - rooms are too small - too many people - three small lifts to cater for over 400 rooms, some days you could be waiting over 10 minutes, especially if you have a pram or suitcases. Really puts you off going for short outings. - one day the lift was broken and we had to climb 4 flights with bags baby and a pushchair in a tiny spiral staircase which is their main staircase. Also nearly fell down these with the amount of people going up and down them and the door opens directly into people on the stairs. - breakfast might seem great on day 1 with a good allergen corner and fancy seeds etc but no rotation of products so a week later it's very boring. - the worst part about breakfast is how busy it is. They offer trays so everyone is loading up multiple plates with their trays, big queues to get into the small food areas, hard to get a table in the morning it's very stressful and uncomfortable, not what you want in the morning. The hotel advertises that 7-8 is the quietest and then it's jammed 8-11. There's definitely things the hotel could fix to make it easier. - asked for things to be fixed or changed in the room three times, only one was half fixed which was a flooded shower due to the trap not working properly. No beer opener too despite beers for sale in the mini bar. - no real storage in the room so can't unpack - overall a lot of small annoyances which built up and management don't care

EXCELLENT COST BENEFIT

The hotel is great, breakfast is very good and very well located. The room was spacious for a 3 persons family. IT was an excellent cost benefit hotel. The elevator get's sometimes crowded, 1st floor rooms are good if one prefers the stairs.

Nice room with nice view. Great breakfast. But very large hotel so breakfast and elevators were crowded. There are crazy spiral staircases that also got crowded and had doors that open into the stair case so good chance of getting hit by the door! Housecleaning cleaned the room ok, except they didn’t vacuum! Nonetheless , good location and nice place to stay. For the price I think it was worth it.

OK but Read through reviews before booking.

Rooms are extremely small. We are a family of 3 and had no place for our luggage. No air conditioning and it was very hot during the night.

Very convenient

This hotel was perfect for us. The staff were great--friendly, knowledgeable and professional. There were a lot of families so it gets lively. Breakfast was very good with a lot of variety to fill most dietary needs. The hop on hop off bus stops beside the hotel so we used it to navigate to the places we wanted to visit. We parked in the attached garage which closes at 7 pm. We liked the onsite restaurant and the ones in front of the hotel.

Amazing Find in Stockholm

We loved the location and the staff were very accommodating. Robert, at Nor was an outstanding bartender with many suggestions. We were there during Taylor Swift and the hotel handled the madness with ease. The location is outstanding. Literally a tunnelbana station right at your door. Will 100% stay again.

Good location

Room was fine. I HATE HATE HATE the duvet covers. This is not unique to the Clarion. They all do it and they are too heavy/hot! I have to remove the comforter from the cover.

Good place to rest your head !

The Clarion is a stunning hotel that’s kept clean and in a great location. There was just a few things keeping in from 5*, hotel breakfast is chaos, lots of guess, not lots of tables, additionally the advertised sauna is currently being upgraded therefore off-limits which would have been better noted on booking rather then when we asked where it was.

Favorite stay in Stockholm, their breakfast was delicious. Husband and I looked forward to it every morning.

Great location in a central area with great dinning options. Great bar and restaurant inside. Isaiah was the best. Probably one of the best breakfasts in any of the hotels ive been in recently.

Excellent value for money

This hotel offers great value for money in a central location. The staff are friendly and efficient. I highly recommend the Clarion Amaranten.

Less than 10mins walk to city hall and T-central station, perfect location and not too busy in the surrounding area

It is right next to the metro and 10mins walk from Stockholm central. It is also close to a lake where there are great restaurants and a walking path. It is a shame the sauna was closed for renovations during my visit. Would recommend if looking for a short comfortable stay.

Great location, amazing breakfast

Brilliant hotel in an excellent location. Very close to centre of the city, the main train station and its literally next door to a metro stop. We found it very easy to get around. The room was small but very comfortable. Bed excellent. The bathroom was fine but there was only a glass door, so wouldn't recommend the room if you aren't a couple- not a lot of privacy! Definitely agree with all the other reviews about the breakfast, great selection and all well cooked. The lifts can be a bit of a pain, only 3 for the whole hotel. We would definitely stay at a Clarion hotel again

Convenient and cozy

Excellent location, considering a proximity of a subway. Walking distance (25min) from Gamlastan. Great breakfast, free tea and coffee are available for 24 hours.

Nice stay in Clarion Hotel. The metro is very close to the hotel so is very easy to go to the city center. The breakfast is wonderful there are a lot of food for every needs.

Rooms were dirty and very worn out/tired. No bathroom kits on offer and they were out of toothbrushes and combs for sale. Breakfast was not great. Pancakes and waffles cold and dry. Hot water for tea was like warm.

Small room, the room isn’t big enough for travellers with big suitcases. Friendly staff and good dining options for dinner. Good breakfast and nice lounge area. The metro station is closed by, very convenient.

Great stay!

Stayed in a room for 3 with my 5 and 3 year olds. We loved it here..breakfast was amazing, and on the last day we left early so they gave us a breakfast to take with us. Staff were very friendly, room was cleaned when requested, and hotel was directly next to the tunnelbana which made it super convenient. There’s a Coop supermarket over the road for supplies, and the neighbourhood was very quiet. Bathroom was spotless, showers were great, and lovely bathroom products. Will definitely stay here again.

Weekend in Stockholm

We liked the hotel. The location was excellent and the staff were top class and very friendly. We were a little disappointed with the room which was hardly deluxe. It was small; there were no bedside lockers only little stands and I like to have my papers beside the bed. I’d expect a bottle of water and it’s usual to have some extra items in the bathroom Breakfast was very good. We will return.

Book this hotel

Do yourself a favor and book this hotel. The staff are amazingly helpful, the breakfast was huge and varied, and the rooms were quiet and comfortable. Hotel is in easy walking distance to old town and there is a metro station right next door. You won't regret staying here!

Lovely but hotel policy dictates

First the good. Room was lovely on the 7th floor. Very clean, quiet with a lovely bathroom with walk-in shower. Staff at reception and in bar were all attentive and pleasant. Location is great with an easy walk (10mins) to central station and only 20 to old town. If you prefer the metro is easy to navigate and the station is next to the hotel. For supplies there is a great little supermarket (co-op) just across the road. Now the down side . Unfortunately the hotel policy/practices cause mild confusion and issues. Breakfast for instance had a great selection but customers are crammed into what is clearly not a large enough dining area. With different food stations dotted around the bar you did not know what queue was for what. Then the customers there acted like they hadn’t been fed for weeks, this resulted in scenes similar to lord of the flies. We tried it on the first morning but then gave up, taking our chances in the lovely Swedish eateries. Lastly trying to get in the lift in the morning with all the other customers (only one went to the 7th floor) was bad enough but then you also had to compete with the stream of housekeeping carts that wanted to dominate that one lift. Some minor changes to hotel policy, a system of booking breakfast times or creating some additional seating areas would easily rectify the negatives to this lovely hotel

Clean and Accessible

Stayed here 2 time for now. Rooms are Clean, easily accessible from Central Train Station. Breakfast was great!

The breakfast buffet was really good! The the staff was really helpful and when i had a question or problem worked on fixing it right away! The customer service was great!

Good place, poor staff

Wonderful breakfast, even thiugh it gets crowded, the staff lets us know in advance. However the hotel staff were not so friendly because our thermostat was not working and they invented up an excuse that it’s a central heating and they cannot do any changes, and also lied to us that thry wiuld send someone up to iur room to look at it which never happened. This counting out tge fact that one of her colleagues was laughing when she heard about our problem

Great location. The hotel was lovely, comfortable beds with great shower . The breakfast was fantastic with so many choices. The staff were very friendly especially Maria at the reception. We would definitely go back to the hotel. One thing I didn’t like was the lifts, very slow and ended up walking up the stairs most of the time.

Very comfortable hotel

Location is convenient and the stay was very comfortable. Variety and quality of breakfast was also nice. All staffs were very kind and flexible for several requests.

Nice hotel, stupid bathrooms

The hotel was nice enough, the room was more basic than we'd been given the impression it would be. The bathrooms are ridiculous, they've done wet rooms, which they obviously think is clever or smart, but is amazingly dumb, as when you have a shower the water goes everywhere and wets everything, which means anyone else going in after you gets all wet too.

Great location and great price

Great location and great price. The breakfast buffet was delicious. Only minus was a few rude waiters in the hotel - very disappointed for a foreigner. Warning: the hotel uses real glasses for the breakfast. Broke one by mistake and got a cut. No attention from the waiters.
