Best location in Chania

The perfect location!!

Overall we enjoyed our three night stay, breakfast was very nice, staff very hospitable and friendly. Room was spacious and bar staff were excellent. I would say the hotel could improve on cleaning, bathroom was a little outdated and we found a cockroach in our room. Staff were very quick to help us however and these things happen. Gym could have better equipment and pool area could be better.

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It was very clean and the staff were so attentive - always offering to help with advice or services. Breakfast was wonderful with lots of choice and constant coffee refills . Great way to start the day. The hotel is in an ideal location around 10 mins walk to the old town. Such a nice walk in too. If you’re driving then the hotel is located not far from the main highway road that goes through all of Crete. Really handy!

The front desk girl was amazing, she directed us to beautiful areas and nice restaurants. The included breakfast was fantastic and they keep the breakfast open even later than indicated. The staff were great, don’t forget to tip for the great service. It’s a few minutes walking to Chania old port. Beautiful hotel, keep the greatness up.

Absolutely beautiful hotel at a very affordable price!! The staff were absolutely lovely, especially the reception team, nothing was too much and they were able to upgrade us and move us to a room overlooking the pool when we asked. They went above and beyond and purchased oat milk for me to have coffee with breakfast as I am vegan. Cannot recommend this hotel enough and if I were to come back to Crete I would not hesitate to stay here again!

Mixed experience

I booked a Double room, only to walk in and find it was a Twin, no biggie but it was a faff to have to wait in the lobby whilst housekeeping switched it over. Lunch was disappointing and expensive. I travel often and I can say definitively that I have never heard such loud road noise in a hotel room before, it felt like I was sleeping on the pavement and persisted all night. Thankfully the hotel staff were accommodating, eventually moving me to a room on the other side of the hotel, but only after a couple of sleepless nights. I would expect better sound proofing from a hotel of this cost and star rating.

Really good location. 10 mins to beach and 10 mins to town

My family loved our stay at Akali! The staff was friendly and helpful and the proximity to the city center was perfect for us. We’d highly recommend Akali to all visitors.

Great little city centre hotel - wonderful staff

Small hotel in the city centre. No views, and bathroom a little cramped. The friendliest staff and wonderful service. Value for money about right. Good location. We really enjoyed our stay and the city is fantastic

Good but not wow

The overall stay was great. The hotel itself is a bit old style and could have a better modern touch. Nektarios from reception is a nice anf helpful person.

Nice hotel with a central location

Great location near Nea Chora beach and the old town! The rooms are clean and have all the necessary amenities. And most importantly olive oil soaps from ABEA! The pool is not mind-blowing, but considering the central location it couldn't really be much bigger. Some items from room service are a bit expensive, but who could resist ordering drinks directly to the pool? There's only a few parking spots right outside the hotel, but we were lucky to find a vacant one every day. All in all, this is a great place to stay in Chania!

I had a lovely one night stay. The staff was amazing, the hotel was well located, the room was comfortable and the breakfast was great.

Hotel is in a odd area without any other hotels around it, but quiet and you can easily walk to the harbour and Nea Chora beach. Hotel itself is a little outdated but clean and the staff do everything to make your stay go well. There was constant cleaning in the rooms around me so the noise can be too much if you’re spending time in your room. Pool area is small but just the right size for a quick swim at the end of the day.

Beautiful hotel and room with a comfortable bed. More modern than I expected. Great staff. Good breakfast. Walkable to everything and a couple blocks from main bus station. I would stay here again.

Ok but could do better

Good location in Chania with easy access to town and waterfront, but located on a main road that gets very busy at some times of the day. Rooms have sliding doors that reduce sound, useful at night, but take away the ability to benefit from sitting out on a balcony in the sun. For a similar hotel room price and facilities I would consider other choices in the area.

Nice rooms, good aircon (much needed), good breakfast with plenty of choice. Staff very friendly. Good location; very close to local restaurants, supermarket and old town. 10 minutes to walk to scenic harbour.

Skuffende oplevelse. Hotellet er gammelt og slidt. Værelset var dårligt indrettet. Dog var personalet meget venligt.

Posizione quasi centrale a chania, non molto paesaggistica ma funzionale. Parcheggio in strada ma facilmente trovabile. Si: comfort ed eleganza, colazione ricca, piscina, gentilezza personale. No: bagno piccolo, doccia senza una parete attaccato a lavandino che non è riparato dagli schizzi. Sapone mani vecchio stile poco ecosostenibile.

L’hôtel Akali est très bien situé pour pouvoir se déplacer sur l’île (proche gare routière) mais aussi pour visiter le centre historique de Chania. Notre chambre était spacieuse, le seul bémol était le balcon donnant sur l’avenue la plus passante de la ville donc énormément de bruit. Cependant avec vue sur la piscine je pense que nous aurions besoin plus apprécié. Le personnel de l’hôtel était très sympathique.

El hotel está muy bien para su categoría, el colchón es cómodo, el desayuno tiene una buena variedad y calidad, los empleados en recepción son muy amables y serviciales. Como cosas negativas a destacar, el hotel está sobre la vía principal y es muy ruidoso porque siempre hay tráfico a todas horas. Si buscas descansar sin ruido, este no es tu hotel. También, los empleados del desayuno no reponen la comida una vez que se gasta y las habitaciones no las limpian bien. Las empleadas de limpieza son muy amables y serviciales. Parece que esto es un problema de recorte de personal y no culpa de las empleadas.

Les premières chambres en façade sur la rue très bruyante et très passante. Nous avons demandé à changer pour l'arrière : ce qui a été fait au bout de 6 jours. Les lits étaient plus petits, de même que les salles de bains. Le personnel était très agréable et très serviable. Le petit déjeuner n'a pas changé du début à la fin, sauf pour un gâteau par jour . Peu de place pour la piscine. En résumé un hôtel moyen...

Kävelymatkan päässä keskustasta oleva parhaat päivät nähnyt hotelli vilkkaan (=meluisan) kadun varressa. Äänieristys oli kovin niukka. Kadun puolella oleva superior huoneeni (#216) oli hyvin kaukana kuvassa esitetystä huoneesta. Aamulla herätessä oli ilmaantunut kutisevia hyttysen puremia (= näin hyttysen, tarkistin vuoteen enkä nähnyt muita ötököitä). Kylpyhuone oli siisti ja uusittu. Henkilökunta oli ystävällistä ja palvelualtista - he olivat hotellin paras puoli.

Hotel excentré de la Marina. L hotel est propre, le petit déjeuner est de qualité. Piscine petite et peu de transats. Globalement satisfaite

Très bon séjour

Très bien situé à 10mn à pied de la vieille ville. Chambre sur route un peu bruyante mais c'est le seul inconvénient. Personnel charmant, petit déjeuner fourni.

Séjour très agréable avec chambres rénovées

Excellent séjour. Chambres rénovées et très confortables, bonne insonorisation. Piscine agréable, et hôtel à proximité de la vieille ville. Petit déjeuner tout à fait correct.

Bon hôtel

Chambre agréable et spacieuse, balcons donnant soit sur la rue soit sur la piscine, bien insonorisé côté rue. Piscine agréable mais à l’ombre dès 16h. 15mn à pied du centre historique. Petit-déjeuner inclus.

Séjour agréable dans cet établissement !

Petit problème de réservation mais bien géré par l’établissement

En primer lugar no cumple con los requisitos de un hotel 4 estrellas. Está viejo, descuidado y antiguo. Ojo, tienen dos tipos de habitaciones que en ningún sitio avisa ni Expedia al hacer la reserva ni el hotel en su página oficial, las llamadas Standard son habitaciones que nunca han sido renovadas, a nosotros nos tocó una de estas, en concreto una triple estándar. Desde que entras a la habitación parece que el tiempo se hubiera parado en los años 90, la estética de la habitación no se corresponde con los estándares de ahora, lo peor es que había claras muestras de poco mantenimiento y descuido, puertas arañadas, lámparas en mal estado, etc. Lo peor llegó al ver el cuarto de baño, tenía un plato de ducha al mismo nivel que el resto del suelo sin cortina ni mampara, todo junto con el resto del mobiliario del cuarto de baño, os podéis imaginar cómo se ponía todo cuando te duchabas, además el inodoro y lavabo estaban viejos y descuidados, en fin un desastre. Todo esto lo puse en conocimiento de la directora del hotel, a la cual se lo reclamé personalmente. La única solución que me aportó es cambiar a otra habitación sin renovar porque las renovadas tenía que abonar un extra precio lo cual me negué a hacerlo porque pienso que un hotel tiene una categoría desde que entras por el hall y en todas y cada una de sus habitaciones porque os puedo asegurar que tanto la primera como la segunda habitación no llegaban ni a 2 estrellas. En la segunda la situación volvió a ser parecido.

Hotel accessible et pratique en voiture (parking à disposition), le personnel est vraiment très accueillant et chaleureux. Le must est le petit déj avec une sélection locale et vraiment très bonnes (tomates / jus / greek coffee à faire soi-meme / plats typiques / jus d'orange pressé etcetc). Les chambres sont plutôt correctes mais fonctionnement bien. Seul bémol = la douche qui est vraiment rustique et qui est est intallée au milieu de la baignoire = risque de glisse et de chute. Globalement très bon séjour, la piscine est au calme et agréable. Tout est propre, très bonne ambiance et bonnes bières au bar !

Siisti hotellin sopivalla sijainnilla!

Siisti huone ja hotelli yleensäkin. Huoneessa hyvä ilmastointi ja kiva pieni parveke. Aamiainen ok. Ystävällinen ja hyvin englantia puhuva henkilökunta. Sopiva sijainti rantaan sekä vanhaan kaupunkiin nähden. Liikenne hotellin edustalla vilkasta, joten toisinaan sai odotella tien ylittämistä kauankin.

Ligger ok lidt udenfor midtbyen. Værelset lidt gammelt og slidt, men ok.
