Great hotel for the Price I would say fair price for a budget hotel
City Hotel
Nice room, wonderful bed and shower. Great breakfast and internet. Only one towel and one bath. The hotel needs some upkeep to repair things
They were able to accommodate an early check in and it was a 30 minute walking distance to bus station
Overall Good value for money Friendly staff No Air Conditioning Good parking
Cheap but cheerful. Some staff were excellent and vey helpful whilst others passed the time lounging about and sleeping. Love having Aircon in our room but a kettle in there would also be very nice. We soon found out that our room door wouldn't lock so told reception which said they will get someone to look at it. They never did so we ended up having to carry everything bar clothes around with us. Breakfast option, 20 RON which is nothing but the hot food was placed in a single dish with little burners underneath. They never kept an eye on it so when we went down for breakfast it was stone cold.
It's simple but okei
Good for one night
City Hotel
I'm glad they spoke English, Very speedy internet, nice tv with many stations. Nice towels. The room was nice and quiet. Good location. The bed wasn't very comfortable though. Friendly helpful staff.
We had a hard time finding it but it was late at night and we couldn’t see, called the hotel and they helped us. The parking was all gone when we arrived but they let us park in front of the door so very accommodating. Check in was fine, quick and woman was friendly. Let us extend check out to 12:30 as we arrived at 2:00 am from airport. Room was clean and mostly updated, maybe a bit small but fine for the wonderful price. Bathroom adequate. Beds were comfortable. We didn’t buy breakfast but it smelled good. There aren’t really restaurants or other things around but it’s not that far from things happening in Bucharest. For the price, it’s a really decent hotel.
Bring soap, they cheaper out!
Place is always full but chose to switch to liquid soap with one dispenser by the sink. So if you're taking a shower you've got no access to soap. Should be other way around
The hotel is very nice and so are the staff. The rooms are nice, have private bathrooms and have nice wifi. Rooms are also serviced each morning and it is nice. The only thing I would note is that Bucharest is an enormous city and the hotel is not necessarily close to the city center.
The worst location and super uncomfortable beds.
We took an Uber from the airport to the hotel and the driver said he had never heard of it. When we got there he asked us if we were really staying there, because the neighborhood was horrible. The hotel staff barely spoke any English and were not helpful at all. The beds were really small and the mattresses were super thin and unconcortable.
They need a vacuum not a dust pan
Hair in every place you look, breakfast items that should be hot are always cold. Only thing that might be clean in bathroom and sheets but still some hair left if you look for it. Wi-Fi only works in hallway not in room. Fun times
Avoid
Do not relay on Expedia choice. I am wondering how those hotels are rated as the hotel and hospitality facility
Great Hotel for the Price! friendly staff & clean!
Pleasant stay, hotel is close to transport and malls. It is a basic hotel, but is very clean and has all the things you need including great wi-fi. For the price you could say the hotel is outstanding! Staff are very helpful! It was a good stay (stayed for more than a few days)
Closing Soon
Very Tired and staff informed us closing very shortly to re open as a nursing home!! AC didnt work and no kettle or welcome drinks Staff polite but de motivated obviously. |
Noce hotel, very close to shopping
It is a well situated, basic hotel, with good and polite staff and service. It is clean and more than adequate. Staff speak english as well as romanian. Would stay again.
nice location
not bad
Need renovation
Rust, mold, the paint on the bathroom ceiling is falling.
Nice Hotel, Great (GREAT!!!!) staff!
Nice Hotel which is very clean and has great staff! close to a large mall. Would stay here again!.
No frills hotel, but comfortable enough for thee p
I was only there for one night. The hotel was clean and the staff were very friendly. The breakfast the next morning was a hot one with eggs, salami, ham and a variety of breads and fruit. The beds are twin size but adequate for what I paid and needed. I would recommend this hotel especially if you have a car. It has off street parking. I will stay again if the need arises.
NICE STAFF AND VERY POLITE
nice hotel and the staff are excellent, the care parking are very comfortable to the customer..
Great experience.
Good staff always willing to help. Rooms are average size with comfortable beads and a well kept hotel.
8 day stay
The hotel was great for the money, great services, workers were very helpful
Big red flag on this Hotel. When I arrived it was not clean - still not clean after they tried to clean again. Wifi didnt work always. breakfast was really poor. The hotel was not as cheap as you might have expected you this. When I checked out I suggested that they could compensate for this with a 1 bottle of water (3,5 lei). Then che tould me that she would call the police if I didnt pay the water. Very unpleasant behavior - not professionally Many ------
Dissapointed.
Not bad
It was ok

very good for transit, very close to shopping mall (10 min walk), hotel have elevator, good breakfast, enough parking space, blackout c
City Hotel Bucharest was a good place for us to stay because we had a car and needed parking. For those with out a car it is right on the commuter rail line. It is a little far from the city center, but it is cheap, has parking and very good breakfast. The staff is good.
We are very happy with our stay here. It is a little hard to find but it seems everything in Romania is hard to find. We were very impressed with the breakfast. The staff is great.
You get what you pay for
We needed a place just for the night and got it at the very last min for 120 RON wasnt bad. Great place for the price.
Ok hotel.
It was an ok hotel. After all it is a cheaper one and you can't expect much for these money. The bathroom wasn't comfortable, beds were hard, staff was helpful.
Very Basic but functional
The place is in a not so nice area, faraway of the city center, you need to use the Metro, which is a 10 min walk (roughly). Overall is not bad, it is clean and basic.
asfe & great in/out option, decent pricing
overall experience is satisfactory, as i am using it for 3 yrs, few times per year... but, definitely they could use an upgrade on the mattress - its back beating
Good price for accomodation
This is a budget type of hotel that was clean and efficient - with english speaking TV channels. The main issue was it's location - it was not very convenient to downtown/old city - but for the price it was adequate. We had a car during one of our stays and it did have convenient parking. Be careful though - the address is wrong on GPS. To take public transporation it was a bit a bit of a walk and we never did find where the metro stop was.
surprisingly good for its price
just the kinda hotel that the regular european teenagers go to for the sake of the price and simply to sleep and live while spending most of the vacation time out in the city. The cleaning service was surprisingly good, actually and the staff was nice but the letdown was that english was a difficult language there for most. There's AC in the rooms aswell as TV but dont forget to ask for the remotes of these in the reception. Somewhat a shabby neighbourhood with kids playing soccer just outside while the ball kept hittin probably every car on the lot. On the bright side of things, there's a mall just a couple of hundred meters away and a pharmacy just across the street. Access to the city is also since the tramway goes just outside. So all in all, for backpackers, this is the ideal place. cheap, easy and inexpensive transportation to the city but still sorta far away from it. If i ever go to bucharest again, this is where i will be staying!
Not very well located
For the budget traveller, this hotel is fine - decent rooms and excellent air-conditioning. However, it's out in the city suburbs surrounded by huge poor grotty drab depressing apartment blocks. Located on a major busy road so you'll need earplugs to block out traffic noise as well as the never-ending barking of numerous stray dogs. No restaurant anywhere nearby. Bus stop right outside; nearest underground metro 15 minutes' walk. Around the tube station there are local eateries and a large supermarket. The underground gets you to city centre in about 20 minutes. Beware: Google Maps has multiple incorrect markers for this hotel, including the marked location of the actual street building number. Search for this entry to get the correct location "Hotel City Bucureşti" (detailed entry: 'Drumul Taberei, 46 Bulevardul Timişoara, București, Romania')
City hotel Bucharest
I stayed there with my partner for two nights. The service was average. Rooms were quite small and the furniture was old. The a/c made a lot of noise and there were noises coming from other rooms at night. Very annoying. There was a common pc on the ground floor and one evening I went to use it there was a guy there watching porn on it. The tiny lobby of the hotel had a stand with various leaflets on it, some of which advertised erotic massages and other erotic content. There was only one restaurant about 3 minutes away and nothing else. The town centre was a 10 minute bus ride away. On the same street there were also a couple of malls. I would not stay there again. It was cheap but a bit dodgy. Definitely not 3 stars. I would say 1 star.
Great hotel if you don't want 5* Prices!
This hotel is great for travelers who don't want anything too luxurious. Its a basic hotel, with basic rooms and basic facilities.(Has a small Mini Fridge which was useful but no Coffee making facilities in the room) , there was 24hr free wi-fi and there was always very friendly English speaking staff on reception to help . It was well sound proofed from the busy road below. The Hotel is well situated on Timisoara Blv, in Sector 6 Buses, trams and taxis are available almost on the doorstep (137 Bus will take you right into the heart of Bucharest in no more than 35mins - Return Ticket from the RATB booth only Costing 2.60Lei) Being in a local district you can explore the local markets with ease BUT there are two extensive Malls both within just a few bus stops with many of the names from the UK and a great food court with a large choice of Eating places.
Bon rapport qualite prix, personnel professionnel et qui qui prend en compte les demandes.
Employees are kind and cheerful. We don’t have higher expectations so we didn’t get much disappointment. But the cockroaches… Omg they are everywhere. We stayed here for one week and killed like 10 cockroaches per day.
Gutes Preisleistungsverhältnis!
Simple and nice hotel with all facilities you need
A simple and nice hotel with all the facilities that you need! Very close to the supermarket and train and busses! Very kind cleaners and in general nice people working there! The beds are good and it is easy to control the temperatures in the rooms
