Had everything we needed. The unit we had was due for a bit of work but was clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly and accommodating.

Close proximity to the CBD and some nice cafés (especially Affogato, a short walk away). Convenient off street and on-street parking. My only concern was with the bed that probably should have been replaced a while ago. Otherwise, good, clean, basic accommodations. Staff were very friendly and accommodating.

The staff are friendly and helpful. We borrowed an outlet adapter from them as ours didn’t work in NZ. We have asked our tour guide to return it to the hotel as the tour guide couldn’t stop at the hotel location. We hope he’ll return the adapter to the hotel soon. Thank you City Center Hotel for your kind help and understanding! Next time when we come to Christchurch, we’ll stay with you again.

Unfortunately I had a fall up the steps on my arrival and hit my head on the stairs and grazed my leg. There was no Report made or follow up by the Staff member and she didn’t even tell anyone higher up. There was no follow up to make sure I was okay either.

This was a very affordable option. There is some basic refreshing - painting etc that needs doing but overall very comfortable /good bed able/ to make a cuppa though always hate the lack of fresh milk There is no reception early morning and evening but they facilitated my entry OK I would consider using again

Great property within easy walking distance of the city centre. It was perfect for the two concerts I was attending.

Reasonable with fair amenities and centrally located for 10-15 min walking distance to CBD Christchurch and the Bio park. We didn't use the rental car for the CBD and the cities restaurants due to Parking fee We spent 2 days with a day at the hotel to head out to Lake Tekapo and Queenstown by drive. Hotel wouldn't help for refunds on delays and changes, we had flight diversion and had to pay for next day. However, the stay was pleasant with free parking included.

Great spot about 10 to 15min walk to town but an easy walk. Bus stop outside. Room was lovely.

Home away from home

I enjoyed my stay other than the stairs which was my fault for not requesting no stairs. Staff were all wonderful, kitchen amenities very good. Didn't have stove top or rice cooker which was listed. Shower had great pressure. Very handy to shops and bus system. Ideal for my needs and budget.

Not too far from city centre

The motel is a fairly short walk from the city centre. Quiet location and friendly helpful staff. Shower though was an older style dial turn which varied between ice cold and boiling. Otherwise a comfortable and relaxed stay.

Our hosts were wonderful. They were helpful and very hospitable. The location of the motel is ideal with a walk into the city and a cafe a few meters away. Our room was clean and warm and we had electric blankets for the cold winter night. Next time in Christchurch we will be back there for our accommodation.

Convenient and close to the city.

The room was very cold as the heat pump was unable to warm the room, paint was peeling in the bathroom above the shower, toiletries minimal, the whole room was dated and little choice for coffee or tea. Shower was good and the water hot but struggling for any real positives especially as it was supposed to be VIP.

Couldn't get in when arrived after 7.00pm despite having made arrangements. Too many steps to top units.

Relatively friendly staff. Office only open 9-6. My VIP perk was ‘breakfast’ a wrapped bowl of cereal and boxed milk delivered in the evening. A bit of a nice walk from the center. Tons of other options to stay in area so I thought they would stay more competitive. Parking is available though it did not apply to me.

Honestly over all we had horrible experiences during our staying period . Bed and sofa is not comfortable at all and allso very smelly.

We stayed here for one night prior to an early appointment at Christchurch Hospital. I chose it based on CBD location, breakfast options and parking. The Wifi was really excellent and easy to access. Really the best I've experienced in a hotel. The rest of it was pretty bland and meager. The beds were exceptionally soft, which meant a sore back for a long drive home. The beds also had flat sheets instead of fitted sheets so they ended up rucked up. The duvets didn't have covers either. It was very bare bones. They offered a continental breakfast that would be delievered to the room, but it was very basic and everything sounded tinned. We decided on a nearby cafe instead, Affogato which was exceptional. The possiblity of breakfast was one of the reasons I chose this hotel so it was a bit dissapointing. The sofa bed badly needs updating as you kind of collapse into it and then your legs are resting on the hard edge. While I booked an apartment for 3 they only provided enough toilitries for one, which we made do with. However, only one person in our party has long hair. Over all the feeling was very bare bones. About half an hour after we arrived the air con began leaking. They fixed it promptly, but we were left stepping on wet carpet everytime we entered the bedroom.

Excellent last minute service

Renbrn was very helpful with our late check-in, & the room was fantastic. Plenty of parking. Short walk to city centre, & driving was easy from this location. Highly recommend this motel.

Disappointed

Bit disappointed on the cleanest of the hotel, found hair on the floor of bathroom when checked in. Housekeeping not tidy our bed and wiped the table left a mess. This is my second time came back thus hotel and it is the same room we stayed previously, obviously can see some part of the room needs to upgrade especially the pillows and mattress.

Excellent location and value for money

We enjoyed being upstairs, away from street level, with a view through trees. It was a more spacious unit that we have normally had at similarly priced motels.

Unfortunately i had a room next to laundry which made it very noisy, the bathroom absorbed allot of moisture but the shower pressure was amazing. Served its purpose for an overnight stay

Upon check in the staff try to charge me extra NZ 25 when I question her, she reverse it out. Becareful as she try to over charge customer. I show her that expedia has charge me n my total be is $840 included taxes n other charge. I have use Expedia in my other trip but this hotle try to get extra charge for themselves, dishonest.

Very helpful and definitely would stay again. Water pressure was great Could probably do with a bigger shower head.

Friendly staff, clean and quiet place. There is a bus stop right in front of the motel and the only one bus on the route goes to the bus exchange. From there you can take bus to airport or other places. Therefore it was very convenient for budget travellers like us. The room was clean and comfy and all basic amenities were there. I do not hesitate to recommend this place for travellers.

We check out after the first night ( we paid for two nights). We asked for 3 beds got one bed and a soft bed. Room smelled of cigarettes and uncomfortable. Guest in room next door were arguing and cry most of the night.

The property was in a convenient location and was walkable to the city center. The room we were in was next to the laundry and was a bit noisy when in use. The TV was below eye level and was hard to watch was the bed.

Clean establishment. Comfy bed. Warm on our stay, good heater. Friendly helpful staff. Found couch in lounge not very comfortable. Close enough to city to walk or use scooters.

Last minute booking for a large group (myself and two others booked a total of 5 rooms together). They were very accommodating. We were there for a funeral and many of the family members that stayed there over the few days had not seen each other in many many years. There were one or two nights (I have to admit we were a little loud from one room in particular enjoying each others company remembering our dear uncle who passed away) so we would like to acknowledge the staff and other motel guests who may or may not have been ok with this and extend our apologies. We really did appreciate the space, the motel was only a 7 min drive to the main family home and church services etc. Other than that, rooms were clean and warm and just what we needed for the 3-4 day stay. Close to city, shops etc. We had an extra 1 hour late check out thank you again for this. Would def recommend.

We had a great 3 day stay here its close to the city. Very nice motel roomy with a lounge. They serviced our room each day making our beds this service not done at any of our other stays in the south island. Definitely would stay here again.

The location is excellent walking distance to city centre, pub, supermarket and Thai Container( pop up container). Only complaint is their wifi is not strong enough, sometimes even no internet access.

City Centre motel was perfect for our family of 5. Great value and in a fantastic location. It was very clean and the staff were welcoming and helpful. It’s an easy walk to city and the Margaret Mahy playground. We would definitely stay here again.
