Perfect Birthday Weekend!
We had a fun mother/daughter birthday weekend in the City. Loved our location to shopping and restaurants.
They have two great spots to hang out in. View from rooftop is amazing! My daughter was having back issues and the staff were amazing helping us with that!!
Last-Minute Lifesaver
This was a great, last-minute stay in the city. I didn't get to experience much more than the room itself, but it was comfortable and all the amenities were well taken care of.
The service is top notch and the room is super comfortable with amazing view to the city
Rooms are very small, but very efficient and well spaced. Loved the ipad controlling lights and shades. Everything was clean, front desk staff was very nice, and the electronic check-in/out was a breeze.
hotel staff was great. Plenty of amenities. Great rooftop bar.
We loved the hotel. Everything was perfect. The hotel is beautiful, modern, clean. The service was amazing as well and the breakfast was excellent! We want to go back for sure and we will also recommend to everybody!
Recommend!
Very comfy hotel with lots of amenities. Friendly staff and fabulous rooftop lounge.
Great stay- cold showers
The shower never got warm, which was difficult during January with cold weather. Luke- warm at best
.
Beautiful property and excellent, accommodating staff.
I loved my stay! The big, roomy lounge below the lobby floor is such a unique feature and was a great place to work during my trip. Will definitely be returning!
The hotel itself was good. There was quite a bit of construction going on at the time, lots of scaffolding, trucks, machines etc. The street itself was also kinda messy.
I like the location. I liked the dining facilities.
Very cool and well located space
Facility was great!
The design of the interiors and rooms are great. The room was small but functional. The check in system where you do checkin via computer with attendant overseeing is an attempt to be trendy modern but it is silly and annoying. More human interaction is better than nor computer interaction. The downstairs common room is really well designed and comfortable. The Bowery neighborhood has a lot of struggling people so the juxtaposition of a hotel aiming for cool luxury is a stark reminder of the income inequality that plagues our country but it’s good that the hotel seems to make an effort to be a part of the neighborhood. It’s also great that the hotel makes an effort to highlight the arts and is trying for the environmental sustainability.
Great View
Excellent rooms and A+ staff
Outstanding. Maria in particular at check in was great. Clean, well-appointed rooms. Literally everyone there was helpful and friendly. Love that you can refill water carafes in the lower lobby. Rooftop bar is also great. Highly recommended.
Always excellent
Citizen M are consistent wherever I stay so I keep coming back. I love the room and the hotel facilities. Staff at the Bowery were so friendly and helpful. Amazing bars and restaurants close by by the roof top bar with views across manhattan and Brooklyn made this such a special trip.
Comfortable boutique hotel
Room’s heating/HVAC system was not responsive. The front desk looked after the issue.
Sophisticated, Modern, Classy, Vibe
Sophisticated, Modern, Classy hotel with great amenities. Incredible room style, great vibe. Rooftop bar is best in class! Always stay in different hotels while in NY to explore, however this will be hard to beat.
very good stay. apartment is very comfortable, design makes it appear spacious. good light, good bed, good shower.
I really enjoyed my stay at CitizenM Bowery. The rate was really reasonable especially considering the excellent location and how nice the hotel itself is. The rooms are small but well designed, super clean, and truly include everything you need. Besides, the rest of the hotel makes up for the small rooms: spacious lounge and working areas, an in-house bar and cafe, and very friendly and helpful staff. I would happily stay here again.
very modern and beautifull hotel.
Beautiful modern room and hotel with friendly and accommodating staff. I would stay again.
Room we stayed in was on the tiny side, but perfect for a long weekend. No room if you had big suit cases, but we had small ones and it was fine. Bed was big and comfy and felt like a sleep over. Very quiet. Staff was nice. Great location for shopping and dining. Highly suggest staying here.
Stayed on the 4th floor. Hallways are feeling a little rundown. Some of the room controls did not function correctly all the time.
Nice, clean, comfortable bed!
Had an amazing stay during xmas. The only deal is the homeless peoples in the neighbourhood but that is a city problem not the hotel. Great overall.
Great stay
w
Great experience and beautiful views
Loved it
Very nice and well organized!
amazing!!!
Rooms are hella cool if ur a younger couple def great view with huge bed adjacent to window ;)
Rooftop bar
Short distance to SoHo with good restaurants and shopping. Detail to cleanliness needed. Found old bunch of hair on corners of bed.
Everything was good expect the bed it was not comfortable it was hard including the pillows.
The best.
Incredible location, cool people. Put NYC niceness on the map.
Great place
Great location, nice hotel, just the rooms are very small.
Everyone was helpful. Rooms nice and comfy
Great location. Super fun hotel. The rooms are TINY. Think: cruise ship small. Otherwise it was lovely.
place was clean and aesthetically pleasing!
Great location in walking distances to subway, restaurants, shopping etc. Room are controlled by an iPad and ours rarely worked which made it hard as only one of us could have the app on our phone. Keep in mind these are tiny rooms.. pack accordingly. HVAC was spotty and couldn’t get it comfortable but luckily they offered a fan. Overall good spot for the price.
Funky comfort
Casual chic vibe in the lobby. Compact rooms, but comfortable for solo travels. Comfortable bed and clean rooms. The bath towels didn’t feel as fresh as the hand towels though. Have stayed here on two occasions. Overall, a good stay.
Great stay
Fantastic Manhattan hotel. Small rooms but smart design. Great for a working vacation
Great views, small bathroom
Was in town for the holidays, location, views, rooftop bar were amazing. The restroom/shower were extremely too small (think plane size bathroom). Water was lukewarm so I was always cold while showering. Hotel only has 1 bed rooms available so not family friendly.
Insane that a room that has a bed against two walls is charging $400 a night. Had to crawl over my partner to get in and out of the bed.
Great place - reasonable price - comfortable - small rooms but very well designed - amazing views from higher floors - terrific bar at rooftop with indoor and outdoor areas - funky decor - location near several subway stations - overall highly recommended
Very well! Room was clean, staff was friendly, amenities were very nice and the views from the room and rooftop were amazing. I will be staying here when I visit again
They have many homeless in the entrance and the bathroom in the room don’t have privacy and the door don’t closed well
Great location and clean!
Great service and very clean
Great location close to amazing restaurants and several subway stations. Staff were helpful, warm, and welcoming. Both on-site eateries were excellent!
Great hotel and service!
Small room as expected but extremely clean and beautiful view.
Extremely comfortable and clean Friendly staff Unfortunately there are a lot of homeless people hanging around outside which makes it feel a bit unsafe when they approach you
Great stay!
Perfect spot and close to awesome restaurants and bars!
Great bang for your buck
Yes rooms are a bit small but great bang for your buck. This is NYC, unless you’re going to spend $$$$ you’re going to have a small room anywhere in the city. Great decor, breakfast and technology setup. Rooftop bar and patio is awesome. This is my go-to place to stay now in NYC.
I really love the efficient Japanese design, didn’t mind the smallness of the room because the king size bed seemed to be much bigger than a normal king, and it was in a cozy nest against a giant panoramic window with a gorgeous view of Soho. I loved all the art. I loved the downstairs 24/7 Café. I love the rooftop bar I loved Everything only the iPad was too slow so I had to wait too long to open up the electronic drapes, but that’s a minor issue.
Well kept, high tech- loved it, amazing vibe and setup in the downstairs lounge/ breakfast area
Comfortable and clean rooms, close to chinatown. However, there were some homeless people hanging around the hotel often
Cute, fun and great location
We absolutely love the Citizen M Bowery! This hotel is close to every great neighborhood, subways and any type of restaurant you want. For small rooms, the layout and storage is very thoughtful so you don't feel cramped. I appreciate that everything is digital from your phone or the ipad in the room, however, on this trip the ipad wasn't working and the drapes weren't working. Love the bar and breakfast, great place to grab something and work in a quiet space or have a conversation that you can actually hear! Super clean, fun, inviting, highly recommend!
I like that CitizenM has always the same great standards in every branch
Nice modern hotel. Liked the iPad tech in the room. Nice area on bottom floor to sit and work. Horrible location outside. Way overpriced
The bar and common areas were great. Inconvenient that they didn’t have irons in the room (had to go 3 floors down to an “ironing room”) nor could the staff accommodate an early check in. Other than that it was great.
We had a led blinking in the room that made sleep fiduciary at times. Probably a little battery in a smoke detector. Overall the location is good and we really like the facility. The rooms are very small but functional
We had such a lovely stay at this beautiful hotel!
I really liked this property the staff were very nice and helpful the only thing I didn’t like was the homeless
I loved this property! Checking in was such a breeze especially after coming back from my long vacation, the staff was very welcoming and helpful, I LOVED the aesthetic and all its cool features, the rooms felt very personal and cozy almost like having your own little apartment which I felt makes you guys stand out not to mention the beautiful view of the city whether it was day or night time, it was worth every penny and I would absolutely stay here again. Thank you for such a great experience.
prime lower manhattan location with great access to trains to take you to midtown, uptown and even over to brooklyn. hotel is super cool and well decorated. everyone is very nice but it doesnt seem like they do a specific job (ie. the person who checked me in also served me at the rooftop bar and downstairs in the canteen area) and to me this did lead to a bit of disorganization at moments (people don’t know what food is in stock, don’t always know where things are) and did slightly reduce the quality of service. overall very happy with our stay.
nice
That was a great experience
Beautiful hotel but felt unsafe with vagrants
The hotel is beautiful. Very comfortable beds and we had a great view of the city. I loved everything about the actual hotel BUT there are aggressive transients congregated outside the hotel at all times. We would not stay her again because of safety reasons. We were verbally assaulted every time we stepped outside.
Pleasant stay, courteous, friendly staff, clean and quiet room, pretty reasonably priced for the location.
Singles, yes, couples? Maybe not.
It was a nice room with most of the usual amenities. The tablet (to control all aspects of the room - lighting, temperature, TV, etc) was a very nice touch. We were not comfortable, as a couple, with the room though. The bathroom, in particular, did not offer audible privacy (yeah, you know what I mean). I would say it would be very good for a single person, just not for a couple who are accustomed to that kind of privacy.
Great hotel, great location. Restaurants and clubs are all close by. It's been a few days shopping with friends and a nice afternoon in Washington Square.
I have stayed in CitizenM hotels five times. I love the hotel chain. This one was great too. The rooms are small but made very efficiently, with very modern technology. The staff are very polite and pleasant. The hotel is close to Little Italy and Soho, and one can dine, shop, and do all the fun that NYC offers.
An amazing hotel! Friendly & helpful staff, spotlessly clean with well equipped room, comfy beds & amenities. Great location for exploring lower Manhattan & surrounding areas. Awesome lounge area / work space & one of the best rooftop bars / views in Manhattan! My go-to Hotel anytime i’m in Town, already looking forward to my next stay.
The hotel is beautifully designed. The room is tiny yet functional and feels luxurious. Staff is super friendly and helpful.
Hotel itself is incredibly clean. Rooms are great. I agree with previous reviewers that the slowness of ipad to control all room settings is eventually annoying. Not a place you want to linger outside, the homeless shelter next to hotel is not ideal…lots of lingering homeless outside and at one point hanging out in the lobby area.
Place is great! Check in was okay… it could have been better. The lady at the front desk kept assisting others while it was my turn. She also kept talking to her colleague instead of helping.
Good overall
First time at citizen M. Longtime Marriott guy. Loved citizen. Don’t expect the same thing. Very clever, intelligent design that’s terrific for travelers. Recommended.
Clean and comfortable!
I’ve stayed here countless times and it’s always perfect - perfect location, perfect sized rooms, perfect staff. Highly recommend.
Loved the location;, views, comfy beds, great lower level lounge, culture in artist graffiti stairwell, rooftop views
Loved everything about this hotel. Yes, the rooms are tiny, but they are also efficiently designed. The design elements of the hotel are next level, with highly enjoyable public spaces. We enjoyed cocktails at the rooftop bar, which offers amazing views and relatively reasonable prices. We loved exploring all of the adjacent areas. It’s lively and diverse, but never did it feel sketchy or dangerous.
Great hotel for the money.
Very pleasant stay. Clean, great location in manhattan. Super helpful staff. Easy check in and out. Beautiful rooftop bar! Highly recommend.
It was excellent! All people working here are super nice. BUT It’ll be great if the toilet paper brand is changed! Oh so bad
small room size exactly to the size of the bed,,,, I dont know how they placed the bed in it as you have to bend to get in bed and your feet touch the wall when sleep
Great staff, cool comfy room, walkable to lots of fun stuff
Had a nice comfortable stay

A Oasis in the sky over Manhattan
Because the rooms and hotel are so unique it does not feel like a hotel but an oasis in the sky.
