The property was central to what I required for my stay in KL. The hotel lacked the provisions to be able to eat a breakfast. no fried eggs available-scramble eggs cold every day that I stayed . For Rm42 the breakfast rating is zero. One morning the breakfast Bar ran out of bake beans, why with kitchen staff on sight. My 15 day stay was great.

A very good option

I found this place to be so clean that I ended up using their towels and through all my life I don't think I have ever used a hotel s towels ever... They are also very all of them are very very friendly although initially they can be a little stuck on rules but that rapidly goes away as with conversation

the room is clean, comes with intelligent room control on ipad for airconditioning, blinds and even light colors. the lobby is spacious and it is nice to chill there with great wireless access. location is strategic to many places, walkable to bukit bintang and petaling street etc. would definitely go back again.

For the price I paid compared to other hotels, I was surprised to see how clean, convenient and nice the hotel was. Room size is not so big but everything is placed so thoughtfully that it doesn’t feel small and bed is king size and comfortable. Also they have the coziest and artsy environment at lobby and lounges where you can hang out with books and computers. Colors and arts are done tastefully and ℹ definitely loved the ambience and staffs . Tony who I assume to be head of regional managers or is one was there. He was super hospitable, friendly and helpful. We will come back there again.

High tech but lacking the basics

The hotel was ok and used technology to control everything in the room. It had a co-working area, a kitchen and friendly staff. Room was a decent size with good aircon and easy controls. Where it falls short is the shower was lukewarm and every time I wanted a hot drink I had to go downstairs and use the hot water dispenser which also only distributed WARM water. As someone who relies on medicine that requires hot water this was very inconvenient at times. The bathroom was very small and left very little room to get dry. I had to step outside of the bathroom to dry off. That combined with the lukewarm shower is one reason for this rating. Oh and the 'garden view' room faces an indoor terrace where you can't see outside and you can't tell if it's light or dark ir what the weather is like. So the hotel was ok but really needs an extra focus on the basics.

The single best staff we’ve ever encountered.

We have been traveling the world for one year straight. We stayed at the CitizenM for nine nights during our recent visit. The staff at the hotel has been, by, the best trained, most hospitable and accommodating, and friendliest staff we’ve ever encountered. Hotel has an excellent location, a great lobby with great work and seating areas, great art and decor (take the art tour inside the property), a full-service bat and an excellent snack and meal menu. Staff went out of the way to make us feel like VIPs. Red carpet was out 24/7. Sad to leave. What an exemplary experience. Kudos to each and every staff member. We miss you all already. Our very highest recommendation. Would only stay here when we return to Kuala Lumpur.

Prime location & enjoyable stay

Excellent location with clean and very trendy look. The rooms are small though they are well designed to accommodate lots of luggage (e.g., drawers underneath bed). Loved our stay here!

If you’re a solo traveler, citizenM Kuala Lumpur Bukit Bintang is a solid choice. The standout feature of this hotel is its prime location—just a short walk from Jalan Alor Market and the many malls, restaurants, and vibrant nightlife of Bukit Bintang. You’ll definitely appreciate the convenience of being so close to everything. The breakfast is another highlight. The food was not only tasty but also offered a wide selection, which adds great value to the stay. However, there are a few downsides worth mentioning. The rooms are compact, so they may feel cramped if you’re traveling with more than one person. The iPads used to control room amenities—while a modern concept—are outdated and frustratingly slow to use. Additionally, the lobby and hallways are warm and lack proper central air conditioning, which can be uncomfortable after returning from the city’s heat. Overall, this hotel is ideal for solo travelers who prioritize location and don’t mind minimalist spaces. A little tech and cooling upgrade could make the experience even better.

Small room but clean and comfortable. Has a safe and small in room refrigerator. Great breakfast option. Good location. Just avoid if you can a room on a lower floor near elevator and noisy children.

2 lifts left one lift in operation .Hotel area are impressive with all the different art pieces. Free sitting relaxing environment for meal & drink. Don’t have high expectations of the room with type of hotel rate.

Cleanliness standards have fallen drastically. Stayed here last year for a few nights on a business trip and loved it. Sadly, won’t stay again. Left after first night, didn’t stay for second - too filthy.

Great location, very new infrastructure, the room is quite advanced and high tech which was quite amusing to play around with. However, the customer service is non-existent. No acknowledgements from the staff as we walk in and out.

Great hotel, good location

Great location at the bottom of Jalan Alor. There's also a bunch of cute hipster restaurants across the street. The imbi station (of the monorail) is pretty close if you want to hop on the monorail. A quick drive/easy walk to Chinatown. The staff are great. I was having trouble getting my phone to connect with their TV and she spent ages trying to fix it, until we determined that it was the TV's fault, so they moved me. I asked for somewhere to leave my bag (I had a 9pm flight home) and they held my luggage and also let me use a shower in the conference room area so I could freshen up before my flight.

Near all the hustle and bustle of KL but located on the more quieter side. Close to your favourite malls, masjids and many attar tons like Batu Caves, KLCC, Petronas, Tower of KL etc Staff were friendly. Love how modernised the rooms were.

There’s stains and dirt in the room, the curtains and the bed. Def not clean at all.

Overall, CitizenM is a standard brand globally, so there are no surprises. The location on this one was decent, right next to the street food market which is a must-go. Also many other places nearby to visit, metro is close by, center is not far. The thing that really was a minus was the cleanliness of the bathroom. We found a used plaster in the shower from the previous person that was just missed, which means it wasn’t really cleaned properly. Floor also looked a bit unclean, we had slippers on all the time. Other than that, up to all the standards citizenM has, not bad not amazing either. Prize was quite good for the dates we stayed, as well. Finally, another negative point was check-in. We arrived 2 hours after. He kin time and first we were told the room was not ready, but we were lucky that one room just got cleaned shortly after.

Property was centrally located and was in an excellent location and walkable to everything. The downside is picture on the website of the room I paid for was probably taken with a widelense camera, not quite accurate. It is extremely compact. The bathroom is extremely small and the sink is in the hall way. When you try to take a shower, it's rather hard to maneuver. I would return to this hotel because of the location but would definitely upgrade to a larger room if available, otherwise, the location does not make up for the compactness of the rooms.

Very nice and affordable option. Rooms are tech led and convenient, although two adults can be a tight squeeze. Occasional issues with some of the TV channels but the facilities were overall excellent and great value for money. View of petronas towers and the huge bed itself were the main highlights. Located conveniently within bukit bintang with 2 supermarkets next door.

The hotel is managed by courteous, accommodating staff. The library-themed lobby provides a peaceful ambience. Very clean as well.

Stayed for 3 nights which seemed just about right. The room was functional with all the required amenities, super clean and had a spacious bed. Location was great and very accessible to transport. We loved that you could cast to the TV and the happy hour drink specials were great. The staff were super friendly and professional.

Nice hotel

The room is nice and clean, the hotel staffs are friendly and eager to help. The bedding are nice, it was not hard. I really enjoyed my stays.

Hotel concept was definitely outside the box, not your typical hotel in a good way. I applaud the design. No pool, no gym but a beautiful lobby, a wide variety of interesting books, a bar with very nice bartenders and televisions 📺. Breakfast was ok, for local nightlife activities the food night market was 1 minute away walking so super convenient, really good food, I enjoyed that option. There's also an arts and craft building about 3-4 min walk, lots to do, painting, jewelry making, awesome sushi spot, great spot to learn about Malaysians culture. Highly recommend

Pleasantly Surprised

The citizenM is conveniently located in an area of KL popular with tourists and first time visitors. Its central location makes access to transport, dining, and sightseeing very easy. The hotel itself delivers a kind of "Gucci-hippy chic" with ipad controls in each room, a living/library instead of a traditional lobby, and an attentive and well trained staff. I was pleasantly surprised that for the value, the citizenM, though not a luxury hotel, is a great addition to the regular traveler's portfolio. The rooms are small/compact but well appointed and comfortable. I will be back.

Pros: - The smell is comfortable. - The bed is comfortable. - The external view is good in the room, and you can sunbathe without getting too hot. - The lighting is bright and adjustable in both intensity and color temperature. - The gentle alarm mode is interesting (voice countdown). - The curtains have a full blackout mode, as well as a regular curtain mode, which is nice to adjust according to mood. - The carpeting on the residential floors is interesting. - There is ample space under the bed for luggage and an easy-to-use safe. Cons: - The inner lock on the room door may be faulty and unusable; it's best to check upon check-in. - There is free hot water downstairs, but the flow is very low, and there are times when there is no hot water (you can ask the staff for help, but it takes time to figure out you are not filling hot water). - Even if the number of days without cleaning has been confirmed online, there might still be instances of cleaning without a sign hanging on the door.

Staff was very friendly and quick to respond. Beautiful lobby and decor is amazing. Buffet is really good, worth the price. Room is bit small but bed is king size. Washroom is bit tight, but place is very clean. Overall great experience!!

Second time staying at this hotel, perfect location, very clean, just what we experienced the first time 4 years earlier. The rooms are a little small but we don't find this an issue, it just works perfectly for us. We had one day when our room wasn't made up but this was dealt with and an apology from the hotel Would defiantly stay here again.

Booked 6 nights at CitizenM Bukit Bintang and I must say it was truly warm and welcoming staying here. The staff working there are all extremely friendly and approachable. The hotel and room itself was extremely quiet despite the hotel being situated in the city. I will definitely return to CitizenM Bukit Bintang on my next visit to Kuala Lumpur.

CitizenM Kuala earned a great review for their staff. My room was quite "intimate", and I was traveling with a friend. So it was a bit uncomfortable just how space efficient and transparent things were (e.g. almost see through shower and rest room, with no major door prior). BUT, we were very pleased of how understanding and supportive the staff was. We had a flight delay, and they ended up basically cancelling our checkout and increasing our checkout time so that we could get some very much needed rest. Props, it feels great for young adults!

This is a funky and fun hotel, my room was small but good for my stay. I love the mood lighting and everything controlled from the iPad. I waiting had more time and will look for a CitizenM in a future trip.

Stayed 5 days recently at the Kuala Lumpur CitizenM (have stayed at other properties of this brand) and it was pleasingly familiar, with the modernistic pod style comfortable room, glassed-in bathroom unit within the room, and efficient layout of amenities. Staff are friendly and attentive. We had two issues on our first day (1. A small piece of trash missed by the housekeeping staff in the bedding fold-space between the bed and wall. 2. The room iPad dock was inoperative, we had to use our own iPhone charger to recharge the iPad.) The staff were professional and dealth promptly with these two items. The property is close to the Bukit Bintang shopping, dining and entertainment district. Good value for money. Enjoyed staying. Recommend, especially if you're open to a hotel that's different in form and style to the typical.

I loved it here! Super modern smart hotel, central location with several convenience shops next door, friendly staff. The self check-in was a bit weird because the staff go through it with you so it seems a bit pointless? However, a great time! I would 100% stay here again if I come back to KL!

Fantastic Hotel & Great Staff

Beautiful, clean and full of style!

This hotel was an absolute dream for someone from the London. A trusted brand that did not disappoint, it gave us everything we needed and more. We booked this hotel on the same day after huge disappointment at a local hotel. The level of cleanliness at CitizenM was immaculate which was especially important in Kuala Lumpur.

This is a brilliant place to stay in central KL. Great room, location, dining/shopping options all nearby if you need. Also the staff are brilliant always engaging and cant do enough to help. Would definitely recommend staying here and I will absolutely return next time I am in KL.

Beautiful property in middle of all the action

Absolutely loved my stay at this hotel! It felt like a five-star experience without having to pay five-star prices. The hotel is modern, has great decor and interior design, buffet breakfast (extra 35 MR), and 24/7 front desk service. It is self-serve check in and check out if you like that. Staff were gracious to call me Grab whenever I needed to travel. Location wise it is < 5 min walk to major sights (like the night food market) but since it's just outside of the touristy spots it was quiet. Inside the room, It was decent size for two people. The room is completely high-tech and can be controlled by the iPad right next to the bed. I enjoyed the features like different colors in the shower, temperature control, TV control, mood music for bedtime and the ability to put the blinds and curtains up and down.

Enjoyed the hotel and the experience, especially the fact that everything is at your finger tips (literally) through the CitizenM app (from check-in, control of room amenities, to check-out). Located near Jalan Alor and within walking distance to Bukit Bintang shopping area.

Super modern hotel and the staff was so lovely!!! I would definitely stay it again or any other around the world. Its located in a good area, easy to get around. About 30mins from Batu Caves- with no traffic. Good for solo female travelers.
