Nice and spacious room !
Nice hotel, cheap and centrally located. Parking should be free though ! Nice staff !!!!
Breakfast is too limited , noise construction underway opposite could have informed guest , but Staff service is impeccable
I did not stay there! I went back to Signature Lux, where I stayed my first 3 nights in Capetown!
had an awesome stay
was awesome
The apartment is huge! View is decent and has a second toilet too. Centrally located with option of parking and Burger King just outside too for late night lazy eating. There is a kitchen but no cooking facility. Really good value for money
This stay at Circa and it never disappoints, only suggestion, is having access to alcohol after hours for a nightcap.
Circa on the Square Wow!!
My wife, brother in law and myself had a wonderful stay in this beautiful hotel. The staff couldn’t have done any more for us. Highly recommend this hotel.
The room is huge and nicely priced. Very quiet area but peaceful and staff friendly. Very central. Breakfast could have been better but overall I highly recommend this hotel. Love the fact that it has a fully equipped kitchen.
Friendly, helpful, but not terribly easy to work
The location was good for me - close to the convention centre, but not in the nicest area otherwise. The service was amazing - friendly and helpful. The rooms were large, but very uncomfortable and not convenient. All furniture (e.g., couches) seemed to have hard edges - there was no comfortable place to sit. There was also no desk or chair-height table where one could comfortably work on a laptop. Either one sat on the floor using a coffee table or perched on a little stool for the bar - not at the right height to work. Wifi (when it existed) was weak, unreliable, and required constant long-ins, as it dropped constantly. If you stopped using it for a few minutes, you needed to log on with the password again. Even if you were using it, it came and went. The beds were firm but the bedding was not great - tiny duvets that slipped off, and synthetic-filled pillows. Even when the a/c was switched off, the room temp seemed to cycle between cold and hot, and the fridge was very loud. So, not ideal to stay and work there. That said, breakfast was great (not fancy but a good variety of fresh foods), the bar/restaurant (when open, they closed on weekends and other seemingly unpredictable times) was good - good service, good prices, good food and drink. The staff were very helpful if you wanted to book a tour, but less so on advice. Overall, it was good value for money, but a struggle to work in the room between meetings.
Central city but away from tourist amenities, few restaurants within walking distance
Bob & Max Holiday
The hotel is very clean and rooms are very large and comfortable.the only problem is the bar and restaurant were closed early so we ended up drinking at the hotel opposite. The wi-fi kept disconnecting which meant we had to check before we sent any e-mails
Nice
Our apartment was nice as always but looked shabby, needs tlc, needs new paint, good shower bleach and scrub. very bad smell in corridors. Need to put soft closers for the slambing doors....
We arrived very early in the morning and felt a little threatened by the local area although as the day went by it was not so bad but I didn’t want to take a chance and also the garage door took a little long to open
GREAT VALUE ALL SUITE AND CENTRAL HOTEL
This Hotel is great value in a central if slightly downtown location, but easy access to everything in the Cape Town CBD - A little quiet at night. Very spacious and and in good if not great condition. Rooms are looking a little tired and just some basic maintenance is required here and there, otherwise very friendly and offers good breakfast and spacious comfort with the great advantage of self catering if required.
Apartments ,not Hotel
Should not be sold on the basis of a hotel. It is an apartment. This is to big for a business trip over 2 nights. Reduce the price and sell as such.
Not a 4 star establishment
NOT a 4****establishment... needs refurbishment if advertising 4 stars.
Muslim guest
I really enjoyed my stay at the Circa Hotel, however they could somewhat cater for a halaal breakfast for Muslims as alot of the deals are breakfast included and we'll the breakfast ain't halaal. Other then that the hotel apartments are nice and spacious, very comforting a home away from home, friendly staff, superb location as well...
Deposit Unacceptable
The R500 Deposit is absurd. It's not mentioned when we book.
Cape Town stopover
Very near the convention centre, easy walking to venue
Do not stay here! This place was dirty and 2 star accommodations at best. Upon checking in the room, I noticed the bathroom had hair all over the floor and a used bar of soap with pubic hairs on it was left in the shower. The bath towels were dingy and paper thin. The bedding had disgusting yellow stains on it. The "free breakfast" was a joke consisting of powdered eggs and under cooked pork. So many other options in the heart of the city, Keep looking, Circa on the square is dirty
Lovely spacious rooms
Very spacious, good facilities although a little dated. Service was good, location right in town which is fantastic. Very nice fittings and a lovely kitchen which is fully fitted.
Affordable stay over
I was only there for 1 night. It was great
excellent hotel
excellent , friendly , very helpful service
Spacious suites and very well located
The suites were comfortable and offered a lot of space. However, service was not so prompt. We had trouble getting things delivered to the room such as water. There was also some trouble with wi-fi through-out the stay
Excellent value
A very nice, large one-bedroom apartment in a good location for a reasonable price.
convenient location and nice setup for room
needed to request for wifi connection voucher everyday (sometime few times a day)
The hotel rooms were not upto par for a luxury apartment. Bathrooms were not clean, bedding had stains at times. Parking is very difficult.
Nice friendly Staff.
Staff were friendly. The room was large with lots of space. My fridge was not working and within 10 minutes from calling down to front desk I had a replacement fridge. Its close to green garden. Only on peeve. Someone missed entering info for my wake up call to catch my flight to Johannesburg, good luck for me I woke up on time. I would stay there again.
it was a great stay, perfect location near the water front and excellent custom service
Nice enough
Modern upscale hotel in central Cape Town. Very spacious room (actually a suite) with kitchenette, balcony and comfortable king bed. I was a bit turned off by the big deal they made about wifi access, power adaptors in the rooms, and ensuring that I knew that nothing in the room was free. They even held me at the front desk during checkout while they inspected the room; it all seemed a bit nickle-and-dimey for a 4-star hotel. They also didn't respond to my initial query (via expedia contact) regarding an airport transfer in spite of claiming they have a shuttle service. As it turns out, this shuttle is actually a paid service and the cost is roughly twice what I paid for a third-party transfer. So don't use it. The hotel itself is nice enough though.
Unsuitable
The hotel itself was ok The location for tourists was very unsuitable did not feel safe after dark and hotel advised not to walk about after dark Needed taxi to get anywhere which were available
The service at the hotel was poor: the young guy at the reception doesn't have any sense of good customer service, he never greeted us as we walked in. The cleaning service is pathetic - the cleaners might come while you're having your breakfast and then they don't come back later on that day. As we were sleeping late till 9am and had the DND-sign on the door we missed cleaning service during two days. Breakfast is sufficient but on one day there was nothing at 9.30 (served till 10 am) and none came to add anything.
The staff were excellent, room very clean. Breakfast was good. But even in a serious drought with extra signs on the wall, they changed our "hung up" towels every day. Lighting in our room was painful. Very close to useful bus stops
Nice hotel in good position.
Nice hotel in central position. Decent breakfast. Comfortable room ( we were given a suite ) Very good value. Recommended.
Excellent service
Had an amazing stay. Took my car in for a 2 day service. Wanted to be close to work. Felt right at home. Warm friendly service received. Dinner was great. Service was very good as well. Would definitely come again and recommend to others.
Great Appartment Hotel
Very spacious with living area and kitchen. Area is the main financial district and and was not so good at night as few people around. Main shopping street only a few hundred metres away. Great location for CTICC but quite a long walk from the V and A Waterfront
Great location
Location is perfect being a 15-20 minute walk to the V & A waterfront as well as a 2-3 minute walk to Long Street. Staff was friendly & fast, check in & check were fast. Room was very spacious & comfortable. Only negatives were breakfast was a bit blah & the wifi is capped at 1.5 gigs per day which you can mysteriously use up in about 40 minutes without doing any downloads or watching any YouTube type stuff.
Great boutique hotel within a 20 walk to V and A.
The hotel was great with a good location. Construction was in progress across the street.... Noisy
Super accommodation in centre of town. Self-catering rooms were spacious, comfortable secure and well furnished. Staff friendly and helpful. Wift readily available in room at no charge. Breakfast more than ok. If you do not enjoy your stay at this hotel then probably more a reflection of you than the hotel...For record we stayed on two occasions, first 2 nights mid September, second for for 4 nights early October.
Urban, centre of town, basic but comfortable
I always go back, becoming like home. Relatively quiet, don't expect a view from the room.
The hotelrooms are beautiful and the hotel is easy to find. But the check-in and check-out process is very long, wasted almost an hour of our stay. It is not nice when you are tired from a long trip. We were phoned twice while trying to sleep by reception because they could not read something on our check in card. Housekeeping also disturbed us because they wanted to replace drinks which should have been done before we checked in. Parking at the hotel costs R100 extra.
Alright
Overall a good stay, but the place does need thorough cleaning as I found corners to be dirty and dusty. Internet was great, location is boring but very central.
Great for access to central city
Very pleasant staff with minimal fuss - only overnighting but extremely suitable for this. would recommend.
DO NOT STAY HERE!
We checked in for two nights and put the do not disturb sign for the entire stay. On the last night we stepped out for dinner for 3 hours and came back to the room balcony open and curtains drawn open. We were in 601 and the reception said it was no one from outside and has to be housekeeping that came in. We called the manager Assem who said it must have been the wind. No one really cared at all. The area isn't safe and management isn't concerned. Trust me, it's not worth it. Do not stay here.
Not a bad place to stay
Hotel was fine only problem was the hot buffet breakfast it was COLD! Evening meal was excellent
It's was great my family and I really enjoyed SA. Without providing details we would recommend this hotel to all our friends for their visit to South Africa.
A bit soulless
This apartment hotel offers good sized accommodation but area a little soulless as mainly business offices nearby. 10-minute walk to facilities like decent food shops but okay if organised. It is a 20-minute walk to the Waterfront where most of the action is as a tourist but not too bad journey. Great location if you are coming in by train or airport bus as nearby. Tourist bus stop is very close. So okay place but get organised, so you know where to eat if not using its self-catering facilities.
Cape Town
Good location great city!!!
Very convenient
Great room apartment size with kitchen and large fridge.
Slightly aging hotel, huge suite.
The Circa seems to cater to business travelers going to the nearby convention center but for us, it provided a great respite in the middle of a month of traveling around the country. The immediate area is filled with office buildings and hotels so there's not a lot of charm but it's perfectly pleasant.
Apartment living with full service
Large 1-BR apartment with 1.5 baths, full kitchen, huge island, nice living area, excellent breakfast, convenient bar and restaurant, good wifi. Just a couple blocks from the international convention center and convenient to downtown. All at a very reasonable price.
Room can be cleaner, hair in a shower, really dirty floor, try walk bairfoot....
Nice large modern apartment with big bed and nice bathroom. little dark but ok. good housekeeping.
The best apartment to stay in CT downtown!
I had a marvelous time at Circa. The apartment was so big, very clean, very quiet at night, centrally located downtown. Everything is a walking distance. I miss my Circa apartment actually. I highly recommend this place.
Amazing stay really enjoyed
Revamp needed
Hotel was good, rooms and hotel look abit dated, needs a revamp
Marvellous holiday apartments
The staying was great. The place is spacious and quet. The breakfast was fantastic. The kitchenette was also marvellous. A nice place to stay.
Nice hotel in a clean area
The staff is not friendly at all including the receptionist and restaurant staff
3.5 star
Good location to convention centre. Good service but the physical facilities look quite old. It's rated 4 star but probably 3.5 star max would be more accurate.
poor breakfast, issues with interrupted WIFI
The breakfast was poor and likely recycled from one day to the other, the restaurant manager would not take comments on board. I had stomach upset. WIFI service interrupted the windows not double glazed so expect noise in the morning location good for CTICC
Great location for CTICC and good suite
Nice modern rooms, large suite with kitchen facilities - could accommodate 4 easily...great location for CTICC
Convenient
My stay was good
A disappointing experience with issues over a late check out. It was initially agreed a 2pm late check out. At 12pm was called to be told I had to leave as the room was booked. An overly officious receptionist could not explain why, at such short notice, it was decided to reverse their decision to allow a late check out. If the room had just been booked, why had the hotel not asked their client to accept a 3pm checkin? If the reservation had been made prior, why such short notice? Suspect the real issue was regarding availability of housekeeping staff
roomy apartment, central location
Good overall experience, no complaints, would recommend this to others, good value for money, central location
Definetly not 4star
Terrible experience would not recommend: Arrival - no porter or luggage trolley to help with our luggage. After we asked the guy at the concierge, he called a lady housekeeper who was very small built - and she came with a 2 wheel goods lifter used by van man for deliveries. My partner ended up wheeling our luggage because she couldn't lift any of or pieces. Room was very spacious and pretty well equipped but cleaniness had a poor finish. Bathroom had mould and mildew, window was broken, dust and debris in kitchen cupBoards. Location of the hotel is surrounded by beggars, morning noon and night. The entrance to the car park is in a dark alley- for 3 days we had to walk to the front of the hotel to have the slide opened, even though the gate was supposed to have number plate recognition. 2nd day asked for ironing and laundry to be done - clothes came back some on hanggers, inside out, all the polo shirts had been folded weirdly and stuffed in a laundry bag- making them more creased they had to be ironed again. One dress was stained clearly and when I showed the housekeeper who delivered the clothes she just shrugged her shoulders. On the 3rd day we decided to call expedia asking to ge moved to another hotel because we were not happy. we were advised to speak to the General Manager because we wanted a refund of the remaining refund of the remaining 7 nights. After the complaint things went even more downhill. Speaking to the General manager was useless we decided to leave
Not just a room
Not just a room, an apartment, clean, central.
More than expected
Everything was excellent except the wiFI was unpredictable. Excellent location, very clean rooms and excellent Breakfast
Great Hotel, Good Access. Lovely stay.
Excellent service and facilities, would appreciate catering for halaal meals.
Awesome place for a short trip!
I stayed at the Circa for 8 nights of true bliss! Awesome place and will definitely consider it for further trips!
Within walking distance to the Waterfront
We stayed for two nights in August 2016. The staff were very friendly, especially the barman. Rooms were surprising large and very comfortable. Hotel had everything required for a pleasurable stay.
Location and Value
Awesome gem in the middle of Cape Town CBD....good, big rooms with a loungette
Need to improve on previous standards not decline
Uneventful. Breakfast used to be fabulous on previous stay, but, the Restaurant Manager was changed and breakfast could generally be improved upon. Also, room service is too expensive and price for lunch and dinner ridiculous with little variety to choose from.
Home Away from Home Stay in Cape Town.
Overall my stay was very enjoyable. The room came with a fully fitted kitchen with refrigerator, microwave oven, electric kettle, 4-point hotplate, dishwasher, electric iron as well as a full range of crockery and cutlery. It was really like being at home away from home!!
Rooms are clean and luxurious
Equipped with everything one needs! Only thing I can say that was not nice, we're the cigarette button on the balcony!
Great Find in Cape Town
The hotel is amazing. You basically get an entire apartment to yourself. The prices are incredible and the service was good.
Very roomy
Wish I could have stayed longer. Huge room with amenities including kitchen and living area. Was somewhat difficult to find since it does not front on a street, so at night shuttle driver could not find easily
Bad management spoilt a decent hotel
My room was lovely but there were no pots & pans supplied to cook with just a microwave. The hotel was ok although location wise a bit secluded at night time and there were always beggars close by on my return. I travelled with friends who stayed nearby and used wifi to communicate. Logged in at night so could get messages in the morning but annoyingly was not connected & did not realise until checking my phone . Reception said this was due to too many users. Frequently lost connection during calls & messages. No wifi at all on last night. Different receptionist said that once activity stops you automatically get logged out. I wish this was told at the beginning of my stay. I complained saying that wifi was very poor and asked if there was any refund even for the last night at least as there was none supplied. The manager was consulted & said no refund and just supplied a printout of times I had used it showing the multiple lost connections. Not even a token refund was offered as their server was down on the last evening. I came away feeling that due to short sighted management penny pinching I would not return to that hotel. In these reviews there is a recurring theme of small but annoying issues and if the manager isn't the owner then the owner should be on his back with an ultimatum - get it sorted or you're out! Most of the complaints I've read can easily sorted with better service. They will lose a lot of return business and gain a lot of bad reviews if this continues.
If only the WIFI worked
Overall the hotel is good. Essentially it was an apartment and the rooms are spacious. Love having a full kitchen and both shower and bath options in the bathroom. However, absolutely worst internet service I've had to deal with in years. It's always disappointing to pay for WIFI that never works esp when you rely on WIFI for abroad calling. Connecting is abhorrently slow. And from what I can deduce, certain options are blocked by the hotels firewall. Too bad -- this hotel would be 5 stars for the price, if they could just provide a good, useful WIFI/internet connection.
Great rooms, lousy wifi
Palatial rooms and great beds. Wifi was horrible. Was in town for work and could not get much done because wifi was very poor.
Stay at the Circa
Hotel was good but a little out of the way in a pedestrianised square. At night rather dark and quiet. Some issues with the restaurant but a new head chef has now started and the signs are promising. The bar closed before it should have several times. I took these issues up with the general manager and he assured me improvement will be made - I believe him!!
recent Cape town stay
it was ok for one night
awesome stay
Had a awesome stay . Dinner menu needs to be improved, very little choice and nothing for vegetarians. Everything else was great.
Adequate Hotel
This hotel is adequate but I am disappointed in what seems a constant attempt to add to your bill. They do provide breakfast but espresso is extra, etc. They do provide WiFi but charge a daily rate and give you a code that has to be entered every time you login. The code also changes every few days - it's exhausting keeping up. They also provide parking but charge extra for it. Almost everything is extra so my guess is that's how they make money. The other issue I have is there is a constant stream of people in and out - housekeeping, checking refrigerator, and other things. Felt like I had to keep the Do Not Disturb sign on my door all the time or my privacy would be constantly interrupted. I got a good rate here (maybe) but there are other alternatives at comparable prices - I would not choose this hotel again.
Convenient Location
City center is a very convenient location. The hotel is very nice for what you are paying. The only thing I did not like was that room service did not knock before coming into your room and once 6pm came the surrounding area is pretty much a ghost town which makes you very uncomfortable coming in late.
Lovely hotel within good distance of all of Cape Town's attractions
Good for the price
Near city center, spacious suites/apartments, reasonable prices.
Good value for money. Free WiFi and few more TV channels would have been good.
Good but nothing special
Bunch of extra charges (Wifi, Parking), which was annoying. Staff at front desk was friendly and helpful, breakfast staff rather disinterested. Breakfast was just ok (cooked items bad, croissants excellent). Ok area, easy to get to Long Street (convention center), though more popular places bit far to walk. Waterfront is a short cab ride. Apartment was spacious, though with a weird long hallway awkwardly dividing rooms. Beds were a bit small, but comfortable (twin), bathroom large, apartment bit noisy (A/C outside, traffic). Overall good though. Place is a bit hard to find - you have to walk around the corner to enter the hotel, while the address just leads you to the garage door.
Good option for families
I stayed here for a business trip and found the room to be too big! Can you believe I'm saying that? I didn't need as much space as the room offered and would have preferred something a bit more cozy. The bathroom also smelled quite bad. Not sure why.
Nice Hotel close to everything.
Very clean and enjoyable hotel. Wil go there again.
A hidden treasure
I had a great a stay at Circa as I was attending a conference at the ICC. Breakfast was good with the staff willing to prepare eggs as requested. Mostly pork was served as sausages, bangers and bacon, which isn't so great for Hindu, Muslim or Jewish guests. Perhaps chicken or fish can be provided instead. I was able to check in online for my flight and print out my boarding pass from the foyer computer. Will definitely recommend to colleagues attending conferences at the ICC.
Disappointing after initial view
When we first arrived at the hotel we were not sure about the location, it seemed scruffy and uninviting. When we saw the room we were really pleasantly surprised, it being very large open-plan kitchen and living area and a good sized bedroom with great bathroom. Unfortunately the experience was spoiled by some penny pinching factors i.e. only one tea bag and one small milk sachet per day (and we had to beg for this on one day). Plus the fact you have to buy internet access despite the fact that all the other hotels and even coffee shops offer free wifi; they do though allow you to use a free terminal in reception; strange. Even more weird, the restaurant is closed at the weekend and the bar all day Sunday. Surely the management must wonder why their guests all trot off to the hotel opposite for an evening meal and lose them income. The staff though, were very friendly and helpful but they are let down by a short-sighted management. This could be a great place but at present a let down.
Good service
My stay was pleasant and the staff was very friendly and helpful . The hotel was clean and in a very good condition.
Spacious and good for stay longer period
I and my friends traveled Cape Town and stayed at the circle hotel for one night. It was very spacious. Room 308 did not have a door for shower room and we found that the other rooms that my friends were staying had it. We laughed about it. No swimming pool, no gym so amenities are simply very basic.
Great location, good service.
The highlight of my stay was the excellent service proved by the food and beverage manager. She went over and above expectations to ensure my breakfast needs were met. In addition, comfortable and spacious rooms made it easy to relax after a long and tiring day.
breakfast quality was excellent . room size is very spacious. value for money .
Great stay!
It was my second visit to the hotel. Very good service all round, including breakfast. Could be more responsive though with opening the parking garage for guests, especially on arrival. The entrance is at the back and I felt unsafe having arrived at night and waiting for more than 15 minutes before the garage door was opened and there being no other entrance directly accessible for cars. I'll still go back though as it's very nice!
Very nice place to stay in Cape Town
Very nice place to stay in Cape Town within 10 minutes walk to the waterfront. The walk is safe even when the sun goes down. Room in perfect condition and breakfast is very good.
Great stay
Appreciated the comfort having stayed out in the mountains for weeks.
Needs renovation
