Property was clean and staff very friendly and helpful
反馈内容: The hotel is excellent! However, the restaurant service is extremely slow, and the road leading to the hotel is the worst I have ever seen. These issues significantly detracted from an otherwise great experience. I hope improvements can be made in these areas.
Property is beautiful and right on private beach, it is some distance away from all the caos, you will need a taxi/ car if you want to explore, the hotel is on a rocky street but still safe. Room was beautiful, food was okay wish there were more options near hotel. Overall great stay, relaxing and attentive
Beautiful ocean view, clean. Unfortunately we didn’t have hot water for showers, reported 3 times never fixed. Also, I was asked for $4,000. Mx for incidental, no previous notice. I was told it’s in small print. 🙄
The road to the hotel from the main road was in bad condition and really bumpy
.
We got a great price and I quickly learnt that Tulum isn’t for the economically challenged. When the taxi turn into the road I was shocked by the massive holes created by the rain. Would should have been a 5min drive turned into 20mins. Obviously the hotel has no control over the weather, but communication could have avoided the surprise as well as being prepared for the nausea that came with the bumpy ride. Our first morning was glorious with the sunrise over the beautiful beach. Most of the staff were pleasant but the cleaning was merely a suggestion from their staff. They didn’t change the sheets, the bathroom wasn’t cleaned and the day before my departure, they didn’t even bother to put a pillowcase. Quite an executive decision! Maybe they knew something I didn’t. Overall I felt safe and the sound of the waves crashing into my sleep made it a decent stay.
I loved my time here. If you are looking for peace, you have found the right place. The road getting out there is tough…but that probably helps with it not being too crowded. Once your there: sound of the waves, friendly service, great breakfast, kayaks and snorkeling included, beach chairs with umbrellas in the sand, infinity pool overlooking the water, hammocks on the pier…watching the sunrise and sunset from a kayak in the water was my favorite moment. I came here to heal and being here helped soothe my heart.
Everything is fine but In my stay the electricity did not work for all the night.
The dirt road that takes you to the hotel is really really really bad .. lots of potholes
Needs to replace some courtains.
The property was perfect for us! Right on a private beach and in a quiet area. The staff were extremely helpful and kind. The only downside was the food was a little mediocre. Everything else was perfect!
We enjoyed the stay at this hotel. Everything was quite good. The rooms were really good. The only negative point was the breakfast. Wich was quite poor.
It was nice to have a little peace
Hotel is quiet and clean. Staff is great
Amazing views and quiet beaches
second time ! Very good service , good food, beach amazing, good room.
El hotel es muy lindo pero muy mala atención por parte del personal, ni siquiera saludan . Muy mal mantenido y un desastre la limpieza. El mar tiene piedras .
Nice clean and very beautiful property
.
Everything was perfect 👌
MUST READ BEFORE YOU BOOK! English: My stay at Cielo Maya was great. Staff was friendly, our room was clean however, the room we booked was supposed to have "partial ocean view" it definetely did not and it was on the opposite side of the beach. we had a balcony facing the jungle so false advertisememt. Additionally, if you are booking at this hotel do NOT book during raining season. It took 15-20 minutes from the main road to get to the hotel. The smaller road to get into the hotel is full of pot holes and they do not warn you about that. Tour buses will not pick you up in this hotel because of how bad the road is. They will make you meet them at the main road 15-20 minutes away from the hotel. The hotel has a nearby Taxi stop. The Taxi stop will charge you $30 USD just to get you from the hotel to the main road due to the terrible road conditions costing me more money in the long run. Hotel and service were great but if i knew about Tour buses denying to enter due to road conditions and how expensive the Taxi service is I would NOT have booked at Cielo Maya.
Beautiful cozy hotel
Great location right on the beach. Safe and clean. Friendly staff.
Ocean front
Great breakfast but otherwise a no-go
The room was comfortable when everything was functioning, but it’s beautiful on a superficial level. If you pull back the curtains, there was mold. If you want to use the beautiful bathtub, it will take you more than an hour to fill with the trickle of water that comes from the spigot. Our stay immediately followed Hurricane Beryl, so I understand there were difficulties beyond their control, but I was disappointed that the staff didn’t inform us that they had no power or running water upon check in… not even mentioned. When I inquired, the answer was always “20 more minutes”, but the issue lasted 12 hours, well into my first night. We couldn’t shower, flush toilets, or enjoy the airconditioning, and it was uncomfortably hot. Finally, around midnight, power and running water were restored, but for the rest of the stay, power would go off intermittently for about 10 min at a time. It would have been wonderful to get a free beer or at least some transparency about the situation. The hotel is one mile down a VERY VERY bumpy dirt road, so the drive is not for the faint of heart. Do not stay here if you want to venture out often. I upgraded to an ocean view room. Thank goodness because the other rooms only had windows into the common area/ open lobby which would have been very hard for me. The food was good, but pricey. The best part about my stay was the complimentary breakfast. I will be choosing another hotel next time, most definitely.
Albeit that the trip was booked at the start of the rainy season and it was raining a lot, Tulum and surrounding areas were great. The hotel is lovely and
Right beside the beach, rooms were good.
First let me say that I chose to stay here in the rainy season in Tulum. However, Cielo Maya was without electricity for a considerable amount of time we stayed there. I was up every 45min our first night there because my partner experi
The staff is very accommodating. We stayed during the rainy season, so the electricity went out from 7pm until after midnight, but everything else was great! We appreciated the ease of (free) parking and the (included) breakfast delivered to the room.
Great spot come during good weather season
There was no transparency with currency exchange. Their pricing for meals and drinks I personally thought was too high.
I would definitely avoid staying here if possible , the check in was great and fast they even walk you through the room , very clean . But our very first night electricity went out, I’m pregnant and the night felt the longest ever without the AC working. They had one tiny emergency compressor that worked for like an hour. The next day everything worked and we were forced to have the AC off so our water could work. Our last day it goes out again!!!! That means no water , no electricity no anything . Saw families leaving the second day in because of it and they offer literally nothing for it and blame it on being at the Bay Area and happens very often apparently.
Beautiful beachfront location. The staff was very helpful and attentive. The room is big and bed is comfortable . The cleaning staff was very helpful. The breakfast had plenty of choices and all of it was delicious. There is a small convenience store about a 2 min walk from the hotel. They do not sell alcohol, just an FYI . There are different restaurants near by inside the hotels which are open to the public. If you are wanting to go into town I suggest you rent a car or a taxi. There is a Cenote about a 3 minute walk from the hotel. The hotel location was clean and very quiet at night. Everyone at the hotel provided excellent customer service.
The staff is very friendly! At night you feel like you’re the only people in the world. Very beautiful views.
Hotel was very nice. Restaurant food was not safe to eat. Do your cleaning staff a favor and take salads off the menu.
The sheets were never changed, there was no hot water or water pressure. The area is very secluded and you need a car to get anywhere. Floor was never swept either. The food was also mediocre.
We had a great experience at Cielo Maya hotel and loved the beautiful beach view and infinity pool! It was very clean, quiet, and comfortable! Staff were excellent and the breakfast was delicious! The room was very comfortable with air conditioner and ceiling fan.
The staff are awesome, and the place is so quiet at night…
The front desk staff were friendly and did their best to help us but unfortunately it was the owner that was unwilling to provide quality customer service. We booked 8 days at this hotel to join up with family that we had not seen for years. As a Covid nurse, we were more than overdue for a vacation. Within 24 hrs of our arrival, the hotel had lost power and electricity. This problem continued for a majority of the next 2 days. After 2 days, we had to throw in the towel, with family coming from New York, we needed and deserved to have the benefits we had paid for, including flushing toilets, Air conditioning and even lights. We asked for a refund for the remaining 6 nights so that we could relocate to another hotel. The manager asked the owner and Expedia asked as well. The owner refused. We were forced to pay for 8 nights although we only stayed 6, then we had to pay twice that amount to book another hotel on short notice, then also pay a horrendously amount to relocate to another hotel. Our family members flew in 2 days after us and arrived exhausted to a hotel that had no power and we scrambled to book a new lodging. The owner who was off on his own vacation was not sympathetic not helpful. I am certain he would expect better care if his family had been in our position. All in all this vacation cost 3 times what we had budgeted and was filled with stress. What a disappointment!
Absolutely loved the location! It's within 2min walking distance of casa cenote, and it has access to the beach. However when we asked the staff for directions to the cenote, we were told we needed a taxi and it's half hour driving distance - no, it didn't get lost in translation, I speak Spanish. The hotel is on a guarded road and all access to the taxi services is controlled by the hotels who get a cut, unless you manage to reserve it directly with the taxi drivers. If the drivers have any type of contact with the hotel, they'll refuse service until you book them through the hotel. We arrived during a wind storm which cut our power for 2 days - that's out of anyone's control, but the generator isn't big enough to sustain AC for all the booked rooms so just keep that in mind. After the power was back we had to request the AC to be turned back on for the room. Also, if you want hot water for showers you have to request it at the front desk. They'll tell you you have to run it for 15 minutes but it doesn't matter how long you run it, it won't get hot until you request it.
The parking is right in front of the hotel, the pool is bigger than it looks and very nice and clean, the beach was calm and there are many seating options including hammocks on a beautiful dock, the rooms were very clean and comfortable with large bathrooms, water bottles were free, complimentary breakfast was excellent and you could order from many choices (hot food), plus staff were helpful and friendly. Beautiful location at a great price! Highly recommend. There are other hotels nearby where you can also walk to dinner if you wish to change your scenery at dinner or lunch. Also, this place was good for people looking to relax or families- not a party scene.
The atmosphere and proximity to the beach. The room was beautiful as well as the bathroom.
Clean
Perfect hotel for a relaxing vacation. Great restaurant, everyone very friendly. Nice beach. There is cenote walking distance. The only downside is that you can walk along the beach
Very nice property right on the beach. Nice staff, good restaurant and nice, clean rooms and facilities. Now that Telum has it's own airport, I plan to go back and stay here for a week. There is a large cenote right across the road that is worth several hours of your time, and you can go down the road 80 yards to manatee cove to access both another good restaurant and see the outlet to the cenote that goes to the ocean.
Beautiful building and location on the beach. Stayed 4 nights. In that time, our toilet had to be repaired twice, the safe had to be repaired, as well as the lock to our room. Our friends in the adjacent room had none of those issues, so maybe it was just our bad luck? Staff were very friendly and sympathetic to our issues. Would I return? Yes.
Very quite and helpful staff! Also the beach, they do their best to clean up the seaweed.
Mycket trevligt ställe med revliknande hav direkt utanför, mkt begränsad strand.
A bit far from town centre but easy access by car or taxi .
The property was great definitely will return.
Absolutely loved this place! So beautiful and staff was extremely helpful and so nice especially David. Shout out to him!! The private beach with boardwalk was so nice. Definitely will be booking again when back in Tulum
Amazing location! Staff is so nice!! The restaurant, although a bit pricey, is very good!! Great breakfast options! Be aware, the beach is very rocky as it is illegal to remove coral from the water! But it is very shallow so you can go a ways and find nice spots to swim! There are SUP’s and kayaks for free, which is awesome to enjoy a great sunset or sunrise! Also, it can get a bit noisy if your room is on the first floor, we didn’t mind but an early bird with light sleep might want to ask for an upstairs room! We litterally fell in love with the place and staff and will definitely be back!
Hotel Cielo Maya had welcoming staff which made our experience very enjoyable throughout our week long stay. The property including our room, beach, parking, restaurant, bar and guest areas were always spotless. There was no issues with water supply. We had a/c in our room, a small fridge and clean drinking water and coffee every day. The breakfast menu was delicious and there was a handful of other places to dine within walking distance. The beach was very private and clean in the hotel area, we walked 6 KM to the tip of the ruins and 4KM the other way to the end of the following bay when we wanted a change of scenery. There was also kayaks that we were able to use at no charge each morning to go snorkeling. We saw many fish and a few rays as well. The hotel was quiet at night and we had great sleeps in the comfy bed. I would recommend staying here and would stay again in the future!
Close to the water with very nice views
We enjoyed the small boutique atmosphere of this place. Free breakfast was a nice touch. The room was very spacious and spotless. The on-site restaurant was ok, but a little pricey and had a limited selection of dishes. The beach was gorgeous, but was extremely rocky and was not very easy to swim.
We had a beachfront King suite. The hotel is absolutely beautiful and clean. Our booking came with breakfast which was a bonus. The food was excellent and many options. Lots of places to go eat close by and a cenote
I won’t stay at this hotel again, I’ll try Cancun next time just because it’s so far from the airport, and the dirt road to get in and out of the hotel is insane
Property, food, staff
Had a great time at the hotel. Staff was friendly service was good and the free breakfast was alot better than expected.
Great and quiet hotel north of Tulúm the crap hole
Room was clean breakfast was good ! The road to get there sux
Great place friendly place to stay food very good just the smells in the bathroom was bad room 16
Really Good Food
excellent hotel
If you want to be right along the water and don't care about being away from the town center, this is the perfect place. If you want to be walking distance or a 5 min drive from everything in town, pick somewhere else because it is off the main road about 15 min away. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay because I mainly wanted to relax and chill out.
Great everything excellent
First of all I would like to address some of the super negative reviews. Although we all have our individual experiences I don’t understand some of the negative ones here. This hotel was nothing but AMAZING! We spent 5 night and 6 days and it was beyond anything we could have imagine. Super clean, SUPER safe, super pretty. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate every request we had. Juan is the MAN!!! Love love love! Highly recommend! Btw, one of the best ceviches I’ve EVER had!!!!
Beautiful place! Friendly staff. Will definitely return!
Great staff, convenient location, great atmosphere.
Our stay was wonderful! We felt at home. Staff was great, super friendly, food was great! Our group really enjoyed ourselves
Beautiful Boutique Hotel
This is a beautiful place to stay. We were only at this hotel for one day. The service was excellent and the staff were very friendly. It was late by the time we arrived so we did not do much. We did have a drink and dinner which was ok. The complimentary breakfast was excellent! We would definitely stay here again.
No security, not even a gate. The pool advertised didn’t look appealing at all. It was right in the lobby and looked more like a water feature not meant for people to swim in. Wifi was terrible, on and off. The door was difficult to open and had to wiggle the handle just to open it, had to ask the reception open door for us twice.First night of stay, power went out,no action at all.We talked to reception but he just started speaking Spanish and we couldn’t understand him.The next day,we talked to one of their guests outside and they said the power went out four times already in just a week.We ended up looking for a different place as we want a decent place to stay where we can relax and not worry about having no power anytime of the day.Ended up spending more money and wasting time looking for another place. We feel like we got misled as to what the actual accommodation was like.
Fabulous!
So glad we discovered this place. In a quiet residential neighborhood with a $25 taxi ride to the business of Tulum, it's right on a lovely white sand beach with just steps to the water. True, there are rocks in the shallow water just as there are on most of the shoreline in Mexico, but their dock allows you to walk to the end and swim and snorkle without any problems. Kayaks are fun too. Cielo swim in just a two minute walk away. Be sure to get an ocean front room. Balcony and view are fabulous. Interior rooms face the coutyard hallway so can't compare. Almost didn't want to even leave our lovely room. Staff is super helpful and friendly (thanks, David and everyone). Paid $85 for taxi from ferry, but only $55 on our return trip arranged by the hotel for the 45 minute trip back to Playa del Carmen. Good location for tours to see ruins and ceynotes. Food was fine, but the restaurant next door was an exceptional spot for dinner. Best food on our entire 2 week trip exploring the coast.
First, the staff and service was excellent. I take nothing away from them. The hotel is right on a private beach as they advertise. However, the property itself need some renovation. It’s a bit outdated. The area is great, close to downtown Tulum and safe; the street is guarded which made us feel safe. The very disappointed part is with some construction going on the street the power goes out a lot. Other hotels on the street have the appropriate commercial generator to provide the power for water and lighting. Our hotel didn’t, so we had no water, and no power 3 of the 5 days we were there. It’s sad to have to get water from the pool area with a bucket for bathroom facilities. Owner really a needs to step it up and provide the manager of the hotel with proper equipment. Even though it is a nice area, I will not stay here again. Actually may stay at a neighboring hotel with much better renovated facilities.
Excelente service.Great place right there in front of the ocean there is a Cenote 5 minutes away from the hotel. Staff was very friendly.
Room was clean, Service was great.
Propery is secure and in great location. Beautiful beach
Property was low key, small and not crowded. Definitely had a homie vibe to it. Absolutely perfect spot to relax. Staff was amazing and was patient with the fact we didn’t know Spanish all that well. Food at the restaurant was amazing everyday we were there.
This is a lovely quiet hotel that is very low key. Staff were friendly and helpful. Our room faced the ocean and was spacious and clean. Would recommend if you want to stay away from noise and craziness.
So relaxing! Make sure you get the sea view, it is totally worth it. Lovely paddling out on the kayaks, just the perfect place to do nothing.
- fantastic beach with a landing stage with hammocks to relax - free kayaking, standing paddling and snorkel gear - good wifi - nice rooms - good breakfast - Cenote 1 min away - friendly and helpful staff Only 2 things could be better: - 1 noise cancellation of rooms (always an issue in Mexico) - air conditioner positioned so that it is directed towards the bed (don’t like that). And ours did not seem to change much if we changed settings. Overall we loved it there and would come again.
Excellent getaway from the wild scene . Very serene, wonderful service , professional and friendly staff.
Amazing room! Super clean! Great friendly place!
Excellent property on the beach far from the crowd
Gorgeous boutique, beach front property with a small, clean pool. plenty of lounges and hammocks on the beach. Rooms are large and every well-appointed. Refrigerator and safe in every room. Very nicely decorated. Staff was very attentive and breakfast on the morning was very good. My only complaint is the beach. The water is gorgeous, but bring your water shoes or sandals. Loads of rocks that will wreck your feet!
This property was great for what we wanted, slightly away from the busy crowds of Tulúm. The resort is right on its own beach so the traffic on the beach was limited. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The room was as advertised. We will definitely stay here again.
Beautiful romantic place
Beautiful setting! Great value with all the amenities. Worth it being away from the loudness of the main strip of Tulum. Staff was amazing.
Super clean, cute, and beautiful!!
Sorrounding area was very filthy due to construction. Beach was rocky and hard to find area ti swim. On another topic. The hotel charged us a big fee and have been fighting with them to get a refund for that. Would not come back.
Beautiful hotel loved it ..
Beautiful resort
Nice quiet and relaxing off the beat quaint hotel with a cenote in walking distance. It made for a nice relaxing at the beach stay. We used the hammocks on the dock and pool daily! They have a good restaurant and bar but a few hotels on the street also had good food so you could mix it up a bit. I liked being away from the downtown area but you may need to have a car if adventuring out, although there is taxi service available and most tours will pick you up at the hotel. There is not a 24 hour front staff/concierge but overall the staff was very friendly and could help you with things like getting massages on the dock or directing you to a company that will take you on tours. I did use the kayaks that they have available and although there was some seaweed at times, you could also access the water from the end of their dock. You can literally walk to the cenote down the street. It is a must and although it has a crocodile, he’s small and keeps to himself. You can snorkel there, take scuba diving lessons or just swim for the day. They also have massages and food services there that are provided by the locals. There’s also a small store in walking distance down the street from the hotel to pick up small items but it is cash only. Overall we loved it and the smaller more personal touch of this location.
The room was very nice. The morning front desk staff excellent. Service at the restaurant was excellent. But the beach is virtually unusable. You can sit on the sand but it’s impossible to get in the water because of the tremendous amount of seaweed. The pool is very small so if you’re staying here you’re not planning really to be in the water.
Beautiful little spot with friendly staff and lovely hotel, food and beach. Will stay again.
Everyone was very nice and this place is amazing!!!! Small, clean, beachfront hotel. perfect spot for a quiet getaway.
Room was clean and very close the the area where i wanted to go.
Beautiful and intimate hotel situated in a very quite area. Great staff.
Cielo Maya Beach Tulum | Hotel in Tulum | Travala.com
Fantastic strip if you want to be close to Tulum but far enough away to be quiet! Staff is absolute ace! Candy at the desk is awesome as is Juan our waiter. I cant wait to return! Rental car will go a long way to help avoid taxis. The cenote within walking distance was great. There are like 5 restaurants all within walking distance and each were nice if you dont rent a car
