Hotel in decay...
The 10th floor and my room was shown as a no smoking area, it stinks to smoke and there was even an ashtray in the room. The walls and furniture as well as the bathroom were in bad shape, nothing that a little paint and care can’t fix, but they didn’t even try that.
Very convenient location. Friendly and helpful staff.
Decent Hotel
Receptionist spoke very good English and was very helpful. The beds were toohard/firm, but pillows were comfortable. As all the hotels I have stayed at in Japan, there was no place to store clothes or luggage.
Nice hotel
Affordable price and a clean room but difficult to find the hotel from public transportation.
Convenient
It is close to Hamamatsucho station which is a few stops from Tokyo station. Plus Hamamatsucho station has a monorail that takes you directly to Haneda airport (20 minutes).
Good
It’s enough to stay only one guy or business.
Convenient location
Situated 10 minutes from Kanda station the hotel is easily accessible and the station area has many restaurants and bars. The hotel is quite new so the room was in good condition however there was a stale smell in the bathroom that turned out to be coming from the drain, this was solved by flushing with a lot of water but surely the staff should have noticed this when the room was serviced. Rooms are small ( as is common in Japan ) but are well equipped. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Average!
Good service, rooms very small but serviceable.
Room was overall just older and used, but it was also poorly cleaned, still not anything horrible though. Location was pretty fine, close to one line stop and with reachable distance to all lines which get you all around Tokyo. If you get your room facing the inner city you can see Tokyo Tower, but you will also well hear all of those passing trains and shinkansen. If your are staying just over night or location works for you well, then it's still fine place to stay at.
駅からキャリーケースを持って移動するのが大変。
Great hotel in good location. Staff pleasant and helpful. Beautiful breakfast and extra amenities appreciated (eg coffee machine)
Skip It
The hotel is very old and not updated. I had paid for breakfast for both nights but only received one coupon. The breakfast the first morning was so bad I didn’t even bother mentioning it. My bathtub wouldn’t hold water and the bed was hard as a rock. Had booked the ‘deluxe’ room or whatever they called the best room on here but the room wasn’t nice and didn’t have a nice view.
Comfortable, friendly and delicious breakfast
Comfortable, friendly staff. AMAZING, plentiful and delicious breakfast buffet, though the tea cups were often not washed properly and the hot water dispenser nozzle in the lobby was dirty. Despite these things, I would stay there again because the food was so delicious.
Nice Hotel near the Hamamatsucho JR train station
Not a bad location for the Hotel, convenience store is located on the same block and also across the street inside the office building along with several restaurants, coffee shop and McDonald's,
Quiet business hotel
Average businesses hotel. Even non-smoking rooms were a bit smoky smelling. The bathroom is a clumsy step up from room & or for this with limited motion. Convenience store at end of block, vending machines on floors and laundry in building. Restaurant offers essentially the same meals every morning but is satisfying.
Sleepy Hamamatsucho:
Japanese style business hotel. Small room But clean. Staff helpful. Chosen due to proximity to rail station. Walkway from SE exit of Hamamatsuchou most of it covered. About 12:00 min walk. One large flight of stairs, along the walkway. Consider baggage you are carrying from station. Many small Places to eat exit walkway S3 turn left at bottom. About 30m west. 3-4 small streets Full of "Salaryman restaurants. Two main alternative transportation: Monorail to Haneda Airport. Daimon station, Oedo subway train. E-W line. Both are accessible by elevators. Oedo line NW corner of train station ..walk one block west, elevator on S side. Otherwise if doing a day trip, there are escalators. . Monorail elevator hidden off street/alley adjacent to W side of Hamamatsuchou. Looks like service road running N-S. Mentioned because I was with rolling case And Cary on. Easier than the steps. Lastly, JR Japan rail, has two main lines Yamanote lt green, and , Keihin Tohoku blue. Cover most of Tokyo major suburbs. Finally purchase a Suica card. A must for Transportation. 2500-3000 yen for starters. Can re load as you go. So much to see.
Nice place, slow Internet
It has many PokéStop at the front door. However, slow Internet even using the room's cable.
Clean, quiet and comfortable among the office towe
The hotel is a comfortable walk from Hamamatsucho station (South exit) along a covered walkway, providing convenient access to the Yamanote loop line, Toei Oedo & Asakusa subways and Haneda airport monorail. The hotel is on a quiet street opposite office towers, so there isn't the same range of shops and restaurants as you find out the North exit of Hamamatsucho stn. My single room was small but sufficient. The bed was comfortably firm, the aircon quietly effective. The window ciuld be opened - my room faced the front, not the railways, so it was quiet enough to sleep with the window open. I didn't try the hotel restaurant - it didn't appear to open often and there is no room service. Overall a clean quiet and comfortable hotel at a reasonable price.
Haneda connection
Lay over in Tokyo and this was a good place for the night.
Nice Hotel to nearby tour spot
Family trip to Japan for our first time, the hotel has good location easy to access for transportation. Convenience store just nearby, friendly stuff, free WiFi and hot drink at lobby.
Nice short stay hotel
hotel room was small but clean and convenient to other Tokyo stations (especially tsukiji fish market and haneda airport). Located in a business district so expect night time to be quiet. A Lawson market is just right next to the hotel, very convenient.
The staffs can't tell customer even "Hello" .
They misunderstand their position. Their attitude was so terrible. They couldn't tell a customer even "Hello" and "Thank you". They should learn how to commumicate from kindergarten!! The location and facilities are fair.
It's small and not the cleanest but it's good enough for just a place to sleep.
A really far walk from the closest train station
Booked this hotel in a hurry and didn't realise that it's more than 1km away from hamamatsucho station, it's really secluded. Hotel was ok with decent free coffee, but I don't think I'll stay here again because of the distance.
An affordable and comfortable hotel close to train
This hotel is only a 10 min walk from the train station. It's clean and comfortable. The room is a little on the small side. It's very affordable and I have no problems recommending this to travellers on a tight budget and I would stay at this hotel again the next time I'm in town.
Cosy & clean hotel.
It was a pleasant stay as we reached Haneda on a night flight. We checked the location & way to the hotel on satellite map before our trip & got to the hotel on the right track without any difficulty. Room was clean & cosy although it is small. Good for 1 or 2 night stay but not long stay for us as it is really too small for a family of 3.
Handy and not bad at all..
Extending a business trip by 24 hours, I had to bring my case to the hotel, rather than leave it at Tokyo Station as intended (all the lockers were full, I guess due to a holiday!). However its less than 20 minutes door to door, so really pretty handy. There's a covered walkway almost the whole way from Hamamatsucho station on the Yamanote line (make sure you take the correct exit, on the south east of the station). Nothing much around the hotel apart from 24hr convenience store and offices, but its also only a short walk to Hinode station, where you can take the local train across the Rainbow Bridge to Odaiba and Tokyo beach - great views and well worth a visit, especially if the weather is nice. Overall, great value
Good for price
The hotel room was small as expected in Tokyo but at the low cost it was good enough to recommend to budget travellers and in a 10 minute walk you were at a metro station so not too bad.
Clean but looking a bit worn
This is situated next to the main train line but the rooms have good sound insulation, the noise didn't keep us up, but we are easy sleeperS. The room was very clean but looks old and dated. Location is about 8min from the station in a bit of an empty area.
Nice hotel walking distance from train station
We booked this hotel at the last minute as our bullet train out of Tokyo was cancelled due to the unusually heavy snow. When we arrived, the staff were very helpful and even phoned the accommodation that we were unable to reach due to the snow to let them know that we would not be arriving that day. The hotel is very close to the train tracks, but we did not have an issue with noise even though our room faced the train tracks (though we were on the 8th floor so I'm not sure if that made a difference). I mean that we could hear the trains when we were awake, but the train noise did not keep us awake as mentioned in other reviews. We did not eat breakfast or dinner at the hotel, so I cannot review the food. However this is a convenience store only a few doors along from the hotel, which was handy.
Japanese Motel 6 with a lift near nowhere.
Unimpressive basic digs near nothing; no bars, restaurants or even a convenience store but the price was right that night. Getting to this hotel From Haneda is challenging. Take the monorail to Hamamatsucho then exit across the pedestrian walkway to the side across the tracks. Down the stairs..no escalator and look to your right. Taxi stand about 100m away and about 750 Yen will be on the meter when you pull up in front of the hotel, or you can walk about 20 mins and good luck with that, unless you are fluent in Japanese. The hotel is a duplicate of what you will come to expect in Japan unless you are staying in a 5 star hotel in Tokyo. It is small...real small and clean and there is beer in the vending machine down the hall. So, eat before you go there and I hope you like Asahi.
Bring Earplugs
This hotel has easy access to transportation. Unfortunately, it is also the loudest hotel I've ever stayed at. My widow was literally 10 feet away from the Tokyo Monorail tracks, and about 100 feet away from a big curve in the JR lines. And a curve means squealing. It was so loud I had to ask the staff for extra blankets to stack up in the window alcove, and wear ear plugs in order to get to sleep. Trains stop running at around midnight, so sleeping through the night was less of a problem than getting to bed. They start running again at 5 or 6am. Aside from that, the hotel staff was good, and things were in a state of moderate repair.
chisun hotel hamamatsucho
great locatio ,friendly and helpfull staff, good basic hotel.
Surprised and Happy
We were so pleased to get to the hotel after our long flight. We walked from the Hamamatsucho station which was tricky but we had a wonderful person walk us there personally. If you don't have GPS then I might suggest a cab from the station so you dont have to carry luggage up/down lots of steps. We requested street front rooms and noise was not a factor. We have cruised before and the room was compact but efficient and very clean. Plus they had free good coffee in the lobby. The WiFi worked great in the lobby and we had bought a device that plugs into a LAN connector and gave us WiFi in the rooms. Please note that the power in the room only works when the key is in the slot. I appreciate the energy conservation, but others may not.
Good deal in Tokyo
Staff very courteous and helpful. Close to train and subway station, but a bit far from most attractions.
okay hotel to say
not too much complain about the service, other than they did not put two of our rooms closed together, although I requested in the reservation. Small. very small. but that's quite common in japan. Although the hotel is closed to a train station. however, this does not help to any foreign travellers with few luggages. because, you need to climb up the stairs by carrying your luggages. there are not escalators or lift available. And the stairs are quite long. if you have few big luggages, think it carefully before making any reservations.
Loud, a/c didn't work
The hotel was clean and more modern than we were expecting for the price and based on other reviews. It was close to the metro station and on the airport line which was super convenient, however, our room also faced the train tracks which made for a very loud night. To make matters worse the air con in our room didn’t work and in such a small space with two people it got hot very quickly and because of the train noise we really couldn’t open the window. As a result we only got a couple of hours of sleep. I’m sure there are quieter rooms and ones where the a/c actually works. but overall we probably wouldn’t chance staying here again.
convenient for people flying domestically
Overall this is a nice hotel and good value for money. It is located at Hamamatsucho station which is convenient for people coming from Haneda Airport on the monorail. This is why I chose it. However, in order to get to the hotel, one has to go up and down about 80 stairs in all.(3 sets of stairs) To get to the hotel, take the JR south exit and walk down a covered ramp towards the Toshiba building. When you come to the traffic light keep walking straight and it is about 100m from the Lawson. The area around the hotel is mostly for business so no shops or restaurants really. The room was better than I expected and I stayed two nights. However, they forgot to give me towels the 2nd day and it took two phone calls to get them. The staff were pleasant though and I would think about staying again as long as I didn't have a huge suitcase to carry.
Great hotel
Excellent business hotel, great service, good location.
10 minute walk from Hamamatsucho/Daimon Station
Overall pleased with stay had a strong scent in the lobby but not in room. I was waiting for a train ticket delivery but staff didnt know what i was talking about when asked (in english). They eventually found my ticket and called my room. Not all staff speak english.
Small room.
Clean and in a convenient location
This hotel is very clean and easy to get to from the monorail. It was affordable and well worth the price.
Will not go again
The room was very small and not too clean. The hotel was right next to the rail road (but, the train station was not too close). There weren’t any escalator and elevators toward the hotel. We had big luggage and we had to drag our luggage up and down the long stare cases. We also arrived late, and most of the restaurants and the stores near the hotel were closed.
Ok, station to hotel convenience
It was ok, overall. I was traveling on business and had to lug around my suitcases, which I found not to be ideal from going to and from the station (any of them).
Good for business person
This hotel is a little bit far from the station but the service and the commodity were very good. The internet of the room was also very good.
Hotel difficult to locate
Took us almost 1 1/2 hour to locate the hotel. There is no sign of the hotel from the Hamamatsucho station. We asked the station masters each one gave us very ambiguous instruction making us go round and round the station. I had to ask all my fellow travelers to wait at the station with our heavy luggages and go recce and finally managed to get some help from staff of a nearby company who used his mobile phone to google the map and gave me some indication which direction I can find the hotel. We were totally exhausted by the time we arrived the hotel. If only the station masters were a bit more helpful in giving correct instruction, it was just a straight walk on the overhead covered bridge about 15min. However, the stay at the hotel was great, the hotel staff were extremely wonderful people and the best part was the free flow of free coffee at the lobby.
Semi-Budget hotel in the business district.
Decent hotel if you're on a tight budget. Close to the Hamamatsucho station and smack in the middle of the business district of Tokyo.
Easy to locate, 5 minute walk from Hamamtsucho Station
This was my second time in Japan. The first time I stayed at a hotel in Akasaka popular with tourists (i.e. fluent English speaking staff). I didn't think that having an English speaking staff would be necessary this time so I chose this hotel which is in a business district (located across from Toshiba's headquarters). Therefore the staff is not very good at English. Outside of the non-English speaking staff the hotel was very clean, affordable, and VERY easy to find (simply take the South exit from the station and walk down the covered ramp and once you get to the the first street light, just continue walking until you get to the hotel, in total it's about a 5-8 minute walk from the station to hotel). There is also a convenience store a minute away from the hotel.
Great business hotel
Nothing special, but nothing bad. Very good business hotel, but not close to Ropongi
great value small rooms
This hotel is very close to the Hamamatsucho train station so getting around is very easy, the hotel was clean and the staff was helpful althou no one spoke any english and communicating is very hard .. the rooms are very small the twin room me and my friend got was barely big enought to move around in the luggage was always needed to be moved to open doors, walk ect... but otherwise very nice since we were out all day anyway overall i would say if you dont care about room size this is a great clean friendly hotel.... also there is free internet (cord) no wifi and no computers u must rent them for $10 a day or bring your own
Not Impressed
We requested a non- smoking room upon making reservations and double checked with the front desk upon check in. When we walked in, it smelled strongly of cigarettes and a scented spray to cover up the smoke. When we requested a different room and gave our complaint, we were told there were no other rooms available. We considered going to another hotel and my fiancee went to tell them we would check out unless a manager could accomodate us. After a ten minute wait, we were told there was not a manager on duty, but they could transfer us to another room. Other than that, the rest of the stay was no less than could be expected. Very good location, but somewhat hard to find without good directions.
ok¡
small room.. clean but far from major attractions in Tokyo.. ok for the price
You get what you pay for.
Hotel was clean and staff was friendly. Rooms were small though.
Already recommending to others!
The staff was wonderful, there was always someone there who spoke English and they were very accommodating. We were very impressed with the cleanliness of the room; typical small Japanese business hotel, but it was still very nice. Lovely restaurant downstairs. If your going to be traveling for a while, its great they have self laundry service (coin laundry). Easy to get around Tokyo from here, too.
Cruise ship accommodations
It was interesting to find that the hotel room was similar to a room on a cruise ship. It was very tiny and the bed was a basic platform with a foam type bedding. The bathroom was very small and plastic. The TV had only 1 english channel (BBC News). There were no instructions on how to regulate the lights or temperature in english or sign language, The room was right over and adjacent to the above ground trains which would have drove anyone sensitive to noise crazy. The window had no safety guard and when opened, would have been a suicidal person's delight. I am not a picky person and I was fine with the room because I'm not that particular. I was by myself in the room but had I been with someone, it would not have been too appealing.
cheap, clean and practical hotel
simple and small rooms (as in all business hotels in Japan) + cheap + clean + near JR station (very useful to travel on Yamanote in Tokyo) and near Monorail station to go to Haneda Airport - room directly over the rail lines: a bit noisy during the day (6->24)
Tokyo's reasonable business hotel
Hotel Chisun is very well located, close to the train station. The room is small but comfortable. It was cleaned every day, but unfortunately not under the beds. But generally looks fine and we've been satisfied to stay there. 5 minutes walk to the train station and also to the bus terminal, where all tours start from. You don't need to use other means of transport to start your every day trips/tours.
Great Hotel, not a tourist location
This hotel was exactly what I expected. The hotel was clean, the staff was courteous, the rooms were small compared to America's hotels, but all in all I would definitely recommend it. The walk to the train station was only 10 minutes and you would walk through a nice tree lined walkway. The area isnt for tourists but everything is a short train ride, no more than 10 minutes to any of the big tourist areas. I preferred to stay a little out of the way.
Just a place to crash
We were staying in Tokyo for a week to do some exploring before we moved back to Australia. So for just a place to crash, its great. But the room was too small, even for Tokyo standards, we could barely fit our baggage in the room. The restaurant closed at 9pm rather than the advertised 11, which made it impossible for us to eat there. It cost 1000 yen to access the movie channels and other than BBC, there isn't any other English channels. However from the Hotel Tokyo is only 6 minutes away. The hotel isn't very far from the station, but impossible to negotiate with luggage, however a taxi to the hotel is only 700 yen. There are a number of restaurants close by and a sunkus on the corner.
Room small but service was good.
The room was small, but the staff was very helpful. Before I arrived, I contacted the staff via emails asking for direction from the airport. The staff gave me a few options, and wrote down a sentence in Japanese to ask the Taxi driver to go to the hotel. I printed out and showed it to the taxi driver at the train station. It took less than 10 minutes walk from the hotel to the Hamamashu-cho train station. The room was clean. There was a small laundry facility on site. There was a 24-hour convenience store with snacks and drinks around the corner, less than 1 minute walk away. If you want to shop at a bigger convenience store, it was right across from the hotel and less than 2 minutes walk. I found this hotel's location very convenient. Even though I did not spend much time dining or shopping at this area, I liked to take the train to the major shopping areas and everything was about 15 to 30 minutes train ride which was not so bad. The train track was right next to the rooms. I thought it would be noisy, but the window treatments were pretty effiecient to reduce the noise.
Very nice hotel - good value!
A very nice hotel! Staff very helpful and friendly as usual in Japan. Reception staff speak English but I'm unsure how much as I only discussed the normal busines of checking in and out etc... The room was described as "semi-double" with a single bed which rather confused me. I was with my girlfriend and half-expecting to spend the night on the floor. Turned out to be fine The bed was what I would call a double with plenty of room for two of us It was clean and attractive and great value for money If you're travelling on public transport then easy to get to the nearest train station which is Hammamatsucho on the circular Yamanote line. Could also use the metro station, Daimon. Supposed to be half a mile from the World trade Center which is next to Hammamatsucho station - as the crow flies. Probably at least a mile in reality Unless you have an excellent map, in English, you'll need a taxi. Best to have the hotel name, address and phone number on paper as the taxi driver will probably not speak English. We caught a cab from further away and the driver didn't know the hotel so had to call them for directions. Plenty of taxis in the rank outside the hotel most of the time but if you're leaving early in the morning for a flight like I was you may find there are none waiting at that time
Unexpected Comfort for adventurous travellers
Given how cheap it was, the unexpected comfort and cleanliness of the hotel was a welcome surprise. After long days exploring Tokyo, the quiet rooms and comfortable beds were just right. Highly recommended.
Outstanding staff! Outdated hotel.
Incredibly attentive and kind staff. Went out of their way to help me often. Extremely affordable. Accidentally booked a smoking room. Previous tenants have burned the walls and stained the fixtures with cigarettes. Hall itself smells as well. On no smoking floors it was cleaner and smelled nice. I only ever saw the same cleaning woman on my floor. She was amazing and efficient. The rooms need deeper cleaning, especially on smoking floors. The hotel should consider giving their staff more resources! Bathrooms especially need a very thorough cleaning as they develop mold fast. Mine was covered in dust when I arrived. I was provided with a clean towel, foot mat, pajamas, wash cloth every day. The lobby looks nice but the rooms are extremely dated. A more current renovation could up the comfort and quality of the hotel. You can hear trains but it didn’t bother me. A straight, ten minute walk from the station with covered pathway. Not wheel chair accessible for the direct route. Near two Lawsons, one Family Mart, Doutor, McDonalds, and a pharmacy right across the street. Starbucks is on the way from the station in Plaza 111. A 15 minute walk offers loads of restaurants like Devilcraft and Chao Chao Gyoza. There are two 100 yen coin washers and two dryers available. They are old but clean. Would happily stay again in a non-smoking arrangement. The staff are a delight and made my stay worth while! I enjoyed my time with them.
